It's something I don't hear much in a pop-ish garage house song. Definitely makes it unique, works in its own way.

Where I put the asterisk (*) before that particular (1) is where the synth comes back in on a C#. That's been where the phrase has been repeating itself throughout the opening of the song. So the amount of time between the guy answering her "Oh yeah hey dog hey what's up" and the C# chord coming back in is only two beats :)
