This drama is incomparable with your other typical k-drama, the feeling you got after watching this drama is like a mixture of a high quality cocktail. Totally loving it.
Chicago Typewriter sets my standard so high when it comes to kdrama. the hardest part after watching this is that I don't know what to watch anymore it feels like no other kdrama can suprass how this drama works. it just so magical enough for me to stop watching others because the feels is so hard to forget.
I am confident in saying that Yoo Ah In is that Korean actor whose filmography has no holes. Each project of his is brilliant, not only for his superb acting but for the production in general. His ability to choose a project that is not only beautifully written but is also compelling and has great societal impact makes his portfolio far greater than any of his co-A listers today. So, just a tip, if you want to watch something magnificent, choose any Yoo Ah In film or drama and you’re surely in for a treat.
The problem is-after watching Chicago Typewriter,I don't like watching any other cliché KDrama anymore. This drama raised the bar really high. This OST really hits in the feels. Edit: A lot of ppl in the replies are recommending Mr.Sunshine. I'd say from how much I've seen they got, like the best actors from the KDrama industry in it but the storyline is too detailed too complicated for me to keep up with. Edit 2: I love y'all for suggesting me more dramas in the comments that I haven't heard of.

Listening to this song felt like you're missing someone you haven't met or grieving for someone you don't even know. its hard to explain. This is such a nostalgic and magical song. It somehow flashes back all memories and emotions I have and felt for this drama as the song plays.

I just completed this drama and I need to write a review somewhere. When I first started watching I didn't like where the story was going and how it was involving all the past events and affecting the mood of the characters in the present. I even wanted to stop watching it. But I kept going cuz I wanted to know what happened to the ghost lol. I DO NOT regret watching it till the end. The story unfolds so beautifully, it made sense for them to know about their past in order to move on live in the present. The love story was mature and realistic. I'm so glad it was not an immature love triangle between the three of them and how it didn't affect their friendship. Also the last scene was so touching I'm glad that shin yul went in the novel to relieve his life with his friends. He was a puppy who deserved all the love and cookies. Secondly, the cast was awesome. Yoo ah in. That guy was no joke. I literally fell in love with him after watching six flying dragons. His expressions, the way he delivers his dialogues just pulls me in. Third, the character development was so good. All three of them. You can just see how much their personalities improve after a certain period of time. Fourth. The ost was made in heaven. If the songs were not there I don't think I would have cried much xD Fifth. I don't know anything about directing and production but the cinematography was gorgeous💜 Lastly I never wrote such a long review of a drama ever on youtube that I know no one's gonna read xD

I’ve watched lots of kdramas and I can say they’re all good BUT this is the One that really move me.. the story of friendship and love transcends time and space! As if the universe listened to their longing and wishes for being together again in another life and it happened! Really touching and inspiring story.. 👍❤️🥰
For those who still didn't watch this drama I'm telling you, you are missing a masterpiece. The actors gave justice to the characters, the scenes and ofcourse the OSTs. This drama will make you feel like you are in a roller coaster ride. Top tier drama yet underrated, this deserves the hype also. It is different from kdrama clichè. If you are fond of second leads, the second lead is good here too. And for those who want to learn K history or simply history, this is a must watch. Just watch the series.
Mr. Sunshine is a must if you liked this one. It's set somewhere between 1890-1920, the plot is very captivating, the cinematography is amazing, the costumes are gorgeous, the actors are first-class and is a very good combination of history, romance, drama and a little bit of politics. And I think you can find it on Netflix.
If Yoo Ah In is in it, its a great drama. He’s such a magnificent actor. The depth of his acting even his eyes can convey the emotion. Chicago typewriter is my favorite drama. Six Flying Dragons too.

I just watched this drama few days ago and I can't believe I'm missing out of my life, I love how the story unfolds the past was connected to the present. It gives so much respect to heroes who fought to claim the liberty of their nation under the colonialism. It broke my heart when Shin Yul wasn't able to reincarnated into present time it's because he did the biggest sin for his own nation and I certainly believe that people who sacrificed their lives in their past will have a good life in their next life. I really love this drama so much and it gives me so much love and respect for history and appreciation for books also.

I ended up watching chicago typewriter 2 years after it was released. Let me tell you- it's NOT to be slept upon. Its been a hot sec since I've been so hooked to the storyline. I think the periodic side of the drama was done tremendously well and wouldn't even mind seeeing a spin off of the trios stories, call it 'The Tajagi's Stories'. I'm not crying you are.
tvn is producing gold i was in a kdrama slump after angel's last mission: love because i cried my eyes out on that kdrama but this one raised my standards so high. it has slow plot but it was delivered perfectly everything about it is like a dream and its just so beautiful. im still stuck with other kdramas its refreshing to watch a kdrama continously just like what i did in this one.

Let me just say, it's not your typical love story. I really regret not watching it when it first came out. The OST, the actors, the cinematography, the story. At first, it may look boring, but as you watch it and started to get the hang of it. You'll realize it now connects with everything. Let me add as well, Yoo Ah in's hairstyle in the 80's was so hot !

Hi. I dont know anyone I can talk to about how heartbroken i am right now. I just finished watching this drama a few days ago. The ending was really good. I have no problem in the ending unlike some great dramas that ive watched. there are dramas that are great in every episode but the ending wasnt really satisfying, so i was worried that this drama would be like that since it also has a lot of questions to be answered. But fortunately, the ending was really great! That is why im confused with myself. Despite the good ending, my heart was still left aching. Maybe bc of how their past lives ended. It was just so tragic that whenever I listen to this song, my heart always break. This ost is my favorite, and I would love to listen over and over again, but I know that my heart wont be able to handle the pain. Im still hurt though im trying to comfort myself with the fact that they had their second chances and their wishes were fulfilled in their present life.

Everything in past is so fascinating thought that my heart breaks into piece. I jus cant move on. Satellite has been my top 1 OST after watching this drama. Yoo Ah In, such a brilliant actor. I watched most of his drama and movies because I couldnt move on from Chicago Typewriter.
I have watched this 3 times and i always have to skip the part where he’d rather die than be taken alive. But the dialogue there was so heart rending too and also the character of Ah In looking at his girl imprinting it to his future reincarnated self. I agree it was a good ending unlike 5/10 of kdramas that alaways seemed to have awkward /unreal endings. The writers of this drama are also good. Kudos to them

I completed this while its running on-air in 2017 and I am proud of It... Hands-down this is one of the Gems of Kdrama.... But Valuable things are always underrated u know right ? Just finished this. I don't know why I didn't listen when they recommended it. It is really worth it. The story, message and of course it gave me thoughts on valuing more my life because someone out there, there once was those people who have fought for the freedom I have now. I really love this drama. Plus it's OSTs made me cry buckets of tears on the final episodes. So much emotion right there.

This could be my Top 1 Kdrama. The plot is so good. I feel like throwing up from the roller coaster emotion that it gave me. I'm guilty that I thought I wouldn't like the drama because I thought it would be another one of those cliche dramas.

Chicago Typewriter was one heck of unique KDrama that gives you satisfaction. After I watched it, I hardly watch another Drama that have cliche plot. I just finished watching the drama yesterday and I have got to say this drama is so so so UNDERRATED!! Sure, it has its flaws - the first 4 episodes were a little bit slow-paced for me and the ghost writer plot made me kinda uncomfortable. But it turned out to be such a beautiful story, especially the 1930s part! How the three main characters fight for the independence of their country and how they are willing to sacrifice for a greater cause/others - I literally couldn't stop crying in the last few episodes TT And the chemistry between Yoo Ah In and Im Soo Jung is crazy! Love both the "present" and "past" couples, they are just cute together ♥ I am also glad that it's not a story only about romance. The friendship between Se Joo/Jeon Seol/Jin Oh & Hwi Young/Soo Hyun/Shin Yool are simply beautiful. They understand and respect each other's choices. They genuinely love each other. It just makes me think that somehow they will always find their way to each other, no matter how many times they are reincarnated. And the OST is also insane and on point!! Everything about this drama is just so perfect for me TAT I really don't understand why the rating is so low (at least not up to my expectation)... Everyone should just go watch this drama!!!!!

I just completed this drama and I need to write a review somewhere.
When I first started watching I didn't like where the story was going and how it was involving all the past events and affecting the mood of the characters in the present. I even wanted to stop watching it. But I kept going cuz I wanted to know what happened to the ghost lol. I DO NOT regret watching it till the end. The story unfolds so beautifully, it made sense for them to know about their past in order to move on live in the present. The love story was mature and realistic. I'm so glad it was not an immature love triangle between the three of them and how it didn't affect their friendship. Also the last scene was so touching I'm glad that shin yul went in the novel to relieve his life with his friends. He was a puppy who deserved all the love and cookies.
Secondly, the cast was awesome. Yoo ah in. That guy was no joke. I literally fell in love with him after watching six flying dragons. His expressions, the way he delivers his dialogues just pulls me in.
Third, the character development was so good. All three of them. You can just see how much their personalities improve after a certain period of time.
Fourth. The ost was made in heaven. If the songs were not there I don't think I would have cried much xD
Fifth. I don't know anything about directing and production but the cinematography was gorgeous💜
Lastly I never wrote such a long review of a drama ever on youtube that I know no one's gonna read xD

For those who still didn't watch this drama I'm telling you, you are missing a masterpiece. The actors gave justice to the characters, the scenes and ofcourse the OSTs. This drama will make you feel like you are in a roller coaster ride. Top tier drama yet underrated, this deserves the hype also. It is different from kdrama clichè. If you are fond of second leads, the second lead is good here too. And for those who want to learn K history or simply history, this is a must watch. Just watch the series.

Mr. Sunshine is a must if you liked this one. It's set somewhere between 1890-1920, the plot is very captivating, the cinematography is amazing, the costumes are gorgeous, the actors are first-class and is a very good combination of history, romance, drama and a little bit of politics. And I think you can find it on Netflix.

I just watched this drama few days ago and I can't believe I'm missing out of my life, I love how the story unfolds the past was connected to the present. It gives so much respect to heroes who fought to claim the liberty of their nation under the colonialism. It broke my heart when Shin Yul wasn't able to reincarnated into present time it's because he did the biggest sin for his own nation and I certainly believe that people who sacrificed their lives in their past will have a good life in their next life. I really love this drama so much and it gives me so much love and respect for history and appreciation for books also.

I ended up watching chicago typewriter 2 years after it was released. Let me tell you- it's NOT to be slept upon. Its been a hot sec since I've been so hooked to the storyline. I think the periodic side of the drama was done tremendously well and wouldn't even mind seeeing a spin off of the trios stories, call it 'The Tajagi's Stories'. I'm not crying you are.
tvn is producing gold i was in a kdrama slump after angel's last mission: love because i cried my eyes out on that kdrama but this one raised my standards so high. it has slow plot but it was delivered perfectly everything about it is like a dream and its just so beautiful. im still stuck with other kdramas its refreshing to watch a kdrama continously just like what i did in this one.

Hi. I dont know anyone I can talk to about how heartbroken i am right now. I just finished watching this drama a few days ago. The ending was really good. I have no problem in the ending unlike some great dramas that ive watched. there are dramas that are great in every episode but the ending wasnt really satisfying, so i was worried that this drama would be like that since it also has a lot of questions to be answered. But fortunately, the ending was really great!
That is why im confused with myself. Despite the good ending, my heart was still left aching. Maybe bc of how their past lives ended. It was just so tragic that whenever I listen to this song, my heart always break. This ost is my favorite, and I would love to listen over and over again, but I know that my heart wont be able to handle the pain. Im still hurt though im trying to comfort myself with the fact that they had their second chances and their wishes were fulfilled in their present life.

This could be my Top 1 Kdrama. The plot is so good. I feel like throwing up from the roller coaster emotion that it gave me. I'm guilty that I thought I wouldn't like the drama because I thought it would be another one of those cliche dramas.

I love this series so much. I must say, they have greater chemistry in the 30s setting. Aaahhhh can't get over it.
I just finished watching the drama yesterday and I have got to say this drama is so so so UNDERRATED!!
Sure, it has its flaws - the first 4 episodes were a little bit slow-paced for me and the ghost writer plot made me kinda uncomfortable.
But it turned out to be such a beautiful story, especially the 1930s part! How the three main characters fight for the independence of their country and how they are willing to sacrifice for a greater cause/others - I literally couldn't stop crying in the last few episodes TT
And the chemistry between Yoo Ah In and Im Soo Jung is crazy! Love both the "present" and "past" couples, they are just cute together ♥
I am also glad that it's not a story only about romance. The friendship between Se Joo/Jeon Seol/Jin Oh & Hwi Young/Soo Hyun/Shin Yool are simply beautiful. They understand and respect each other's choices. They genuinely love each other. It just makes me think that somehow they will always find their way to each other, no matter how many times they are reincarnated.
And the OST is also insane and on point!! Everything about this drama is just so perfect for me TAT
I really don't understand why the rating is so low (at least not up to my expectation)...
Everyone should just go watch this drama!!!!!

I would like to give 100 🌟 if I can. I have no words to describe what I am feeling right now. Extraordinary storyline, Excellent Direction, Brilliant casting, Amazingly beautiful and intense Acting by all the Characters.
