23 years ago, my dad brought this game with him from Germany along one of his trucking runs. I played the bejeezus out of it, but being in german only, understood very little. It takes me back, and somehow completes my memories now that i'm hearing it in english. \o/
All the Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer games end with a cliffhanger of sorts. It was like a trademark to them. Like Simon couldn't have a fully happy ending or something.
I’m playing this on Windows 95 and the mouse is just stuck in the top left corner… does the same thing on Windows 98. Anyone else getting this problem? You’re probably all using virtual machines i’m actually using the real physical hardware.
I just looked on ebay.com and I saw that most of these games are from the UK. which reminds me to ask this question. Is this game originally from the USA? or the UK? and if it is from the USA where can I get my hands on 1 of these?
Cody Cole, Simon the Sorcerer 1, 2 and 3 were made in the UK :) I believe you'll be able to find them on the Good Old Games website (which is amazing), I think they might be available to download as an app to play on mobile too. Good luck 🍀
Gog seem to have been pushed into selling the 25th Anniversary edition, which is supposed to be improved graphics but looks like someone's used a really bad filter the resolution is wrong so some of the game screen is outside your monitor, and the music is rubbish too. If you can, try finding someone who bought and downloaded it off Gog before the 25th addition.
***** There's also a 5th game which is even worse than them. If you can stand the horrible graphics and controls, the 3rd game is pretty good, and made by the original creators. The 4th and 5th games are complete junk, not by the original creators, and no one should play them.
I did 1 and 2. 3 looked too ugly for me, and I always remember the ending to 2 (and a few of its puzzles) REALLY souring the experience, so when I go back I only play 1
Ah, this game brings back soooo many memories of e playing on my dads windows 95. the best game i could spend literary hours on. :)

finished this game as a kid more times than i can count.
i love this game.
I admit, I do miss Chris Barrie as the VA for the titular character, but Brian Bowles did a pretty good job here.
First game is definitely better.
Rimmer
Nostalgia as it's finest.
@4:12:40 "You're going to eat your porridge, even if it makes you sick", LMFAO!
I remember playing this when I was younger, and I never made it to the end
3:21:10 Truly ahead of its time
Adventure soft shot themselves in the foot when they decided to end first three Simon games with a cliffhanger.

Not sure about that one, but they surely managed to ruin the IP by allowing for shitty sequels
@@liukang85 ...
i love the doorbell bird thingy....thats my favorite part...since i have ocd i could play that sound at least 10 times maybe 20 and i would be good.
Early 1995. I loved that era.
oh holy crap, there's an old lady who i used to work with who looks just like sordid's mother.
I miss these graphics and sounds and everything... maybe I hate my folks getting older, but I’d give anything to go back to like, ‘92...
More hand drawn = more artistic
39:23 man, this game was years ahead of it's time.
plants vs zombies? :'D
Sweet nostalgia
This was done with a hardware Roland MT-32.
Great game weird ending but good memories
Nostalgy
Played this when I was 12
Played this when I was 33 - great game

But played the german version, synchronisation was hillarious.
French dub was also super cool ! This game rox
ICH BIN SIMON
How did you manage to have voice in the game?
I tried but only get the subtitles. I have a Sound blaster AWE64 along with Roland MT-32
read the desctription
Is this how the music sounds with AWE64?
@@Alianger Not quite, though it is close. Simon 1 was superb with an AWE64.

Which sound device was used?
This is SCUMMVM with an emulated Roland MT-32
another 2 good similar games is Kings Quest VI and Vll and also Beneath a Steel Sky

Oh yeah, the famous morris dancers of America.

Brother Vibius Or just download the ScummVM CD version if the GoG version is borked.
Good lord.. Sordid’s Hell is massively disturbing.
So the best game ever🤩
is there a third game?

***** I wanted to buy the 5th game but it hasn't seen a retail release. Oh well, not missing much...
+Michael Elboim does Simon ever get revenge on Sordid?
+Naho Saenoki I don't really know actually, I don't remember Sordid even mentioned in the 4th and 5th games.

I swear to god.... I first thought Goldilocks was Sponge Bob...
Good GOD, this crap got worse and worse. The island was made ONLY by interns. Started out well enough tho, a shame.
Ah 1993. It was a better time.
Got it 😎
I think i had the 3rd one of this, the humor was good, but i could not handle the controls very well, now did i know what to do.
Also story wasn't that great anyway.
1:57:55 tattoos do, indeed, hurt lol.
I prefer the original Amiga version.
3:11:53 Is that freaking Ricky Gervais?
Jack Nicholson!
If i said you had a beautiful body, i’d be lying through my teeth.
too bad the musics so loud
