Maybe some of it is down to Clarkson's driving but that's mostly the problem of AMG Mercs: They're too powerful and rear-wheel drive. I've never understood why people like them. They're cars for yobbos

I have an old AMG Mercedes, even driving it (mostly) normally the rear tyres only last about 5000 miles.

Having driven an ATV fitted with treads over many miles of beach for work, I can safely say that 1, they are not built for speed, and 2, if a tread comes off there is a mandatory 30 minute break to go through the five stages of grief before screaming into the abyss. There is something that they don't say , There are Bandits cutting roads and the like just becarful if it's 2 time in a row just like in the first minute ,you may want to ask why would they do that? It's because it's money when people have an accident they don't notice alot of things .
well in all honesty.. that C63 Black series Jeremey drove that day.. only lasted 6 miles because he drove like a toss pot

i kind of wonder if mercedes cars really just have bad tyres and too much torque or if jeremy just drives like a madman, or possibly both
Both. I doubt the tyres are any different than you'd get on any other car, but with a lot or torque and a heavy right foot and someone who's deliberately trying to create wheel spin, they'll shed in no time.
Torque is the killer, traction control kicks in quite a lot on my E55, yes Jezza does it on purpose but 5000 miles for rears is normal on mine.
