    Normally I find reptiles terrifying, but wow, this alligator is cuter than every girl I’ve ever seen in my locality! Its eyes, its little skull, and that expression when it gets chin rubbed, just too cute.

      Anything Chinese has been eaten to extinction, like the fresh water dolphin. China has no laws against animal cruelty so for anyone that love animals, never go to China! It is believed that the more an animal suffer the better it will taste.

      @@PureVikingPowers the more an animal suffers before it dies, the more likely lactic acid builds up. Lactic acid build up can cause death in animals, just by being too stressed out. Eating that animals flesh would be similar to eating rancid meat, it changes some chemical that can get people sick. But if someone is eating it from birth obviously they build up a resistance to it but it can still cause problems down the line.

    130 in the wild. 10,000+++ in captive breeding programs. (I'm not exaggerating) If they can create a proper refuge for them in the wild, there's more than enough captive specimens to fill the void.

      It's not the same thing. There are more captive tigers in China for amusement and meat then there are wild tigers in the whole world. These tigers are abused sedated and inbred it would do more harm if they mate with wild tigers. Anything Chinese has been eaten to extinction, like the fresh water dolphin.     Yangzi allegator is very cute and gentle. He only eats small fish and mussels in the river. Oh, locals sometimes feed him rice crackers. 😍 P.S. Yangzi allegators are of Class-1 protected species by law in China, just like pandas. By 2023, the number reaches 1200 in the wild due to the protection.

    Because it looks like a Chinese dragon, and has a docile personality and no record of attacking people, the Chinese like it very much and generally do not hunt it unless there is a shortage of food.
    Chinese alligators used to be widely distributed in rice fields and lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.     Once the American alligator was very close to extinction, but laws and regulations where pasted to prevent unlawful hunting of these animals; today they are considered least concern. China should do the same

    Adorable? Yes. But take note that they still can grow up to seven feet long. American Alligators laugh at them in terms of how big they can get, but a 7-Foot Alligator no matter it’s Nationality can still mess you up good.
    And American Alligators? I didn’t know this, but the females are a lot smaller than the males. It says the males can grow up to fifteen feet long. But don’t let that number fool you, they’ve been known to get over twenty feet. That’s even larger than the biggest freakin Tiger Sharks!

      This species has close to 0 value for its skins. Its skin, even on the stomach, is really bony and you can't make any leather products out of it.

    There's only 2 types of alligators the other one called the american alligator so to say it's the smallest, sure but it's the second biggest alligator in the world. It's still way bigger than a human. at 7 feet or 2 meters 20 cm. Anything Chinese has been eaten to extinction, like the fresh water dolphin.
