Craig Darpino, support technician for American Autowire discusses the proper way of removing terminals from connectors. In this video he is using 56 series terminals.
OUTSTANDING...IM ON A 2.8 HEADLIGHT 9004 ON 91 NISSAN SENTRA...DINKY...BUT YOU SHOWED THE KEY...THE WINDOW...NOW I CAN GO FOWARD...TY SIR...(I believe if one does it every day...he/she gets good at it!!!) God Bless America...the LIGHT SWITCH HAS BEEN FOUND!!!
I was really struggling on some old MoPar headlight connectors (H4). What I found that finally worked is to jam the smallest flat tip screwdriver you have (like a jewelers) and move it up and down and you slide it in smashing the connector into itself. This is the ONLY way I could get mine out as the metal they used was extremely stiff. Then I used needle nose pliers to grab the metal part of the connector and wriggle it out. This did require a lot of force and was not easy! Newer connectors are much easier to remove.
*sigh* The PROPER way to remove terminals is to use the tool that is MADE for removing the connectors. Either that, or fabricate a tool. I'm tired of videos showing the "correct" way to do something, and then..... a screwdriver. Come on people, screwdrivers are for driving screws. But you knew that, right? Because of the two words that combine to make the word screwdriver?? You probably also use a hammer and socket to install bearings, don't ya.

Best video I have seen on doing this so far, thank you.
Thanks for this video! Those connector specialties are underestimated.

Sorry that you didn't find this video useful.
Yes. Large sockets work well for driving bearing races.
