J Krishnamurti - The Real Revolution - 2. Observing ourselves
Man has made himself incapable of facing what is, inwardly. Therefore he has a concept about it and acts according to that concept. Therefore the fact, the concept and action are in contradiction and there is a battle going on. The interval between the observer and the observed is time, containing numerous ideas which prevent actual observation of the fact.
In relationship, the observer is the image, looking at an image which has been created about the other. So the relationship between the observer and the observed is not actually relationship. When the observer has no image, then the observer is not different from observation. ‘What is’ is the observer, not ‘the observer is looking at what is’. There is no quality of choice in this.
    The real revolution Series
These eight programmes were produced and broadcast in America by the National Educational Television Network. They represent the earliest sound films of Krishnamurti speaking to audiences - it was the first time that he had allowed his talks and discussion groups to be filmed. The principle settings are the Oak Grove in Ojai, California, and the Thacher School in the Ojai Valley.

Knowledge is important, but not when we try to manage our mind and brain and our way of acting. Then acting can be only the true one. When one needs help, I help, when one is thirsty, I give her/him water, when one confines my freedom, I do not communicate with her/him and so on. No choice, what is better for me, no comparison, no consideration. ❤

With all the entertainment surrounding us, these has become more relevant than ever. It's like we have trapped our minds into this so that the society we have created (work and consum) can live on. How can we as a unity escape this cycle?

    • @carpenterfamily6198
      @carpenterfamily6198 5 лет назад +7

Toast Brot ‘ How can we escape ? ‘ It begins by knowing the truth - this particular truth, that those entertainments themselves are traps, rather that the escapes they pretend to be. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Now that you know this truth, and if you are an aspirant of truth, then you are now free from those traps. They can’t hold you now because you know the truth - if you are a truth seeker.
While just learning myself, I do yearn for truth - am an aspirant. I suspect that each time a new truth is realized, one is set free from the false traps and delusions that would obscure that truth. We continue to realize truth and find the freedom that only comes from truth.

account of some sudden miracle through which I suddenly became one with the universe. Of
course nothing of the sort happened. My inner awareness was always there; though it took me
time to feel it more and more clearly; and equally it took time to find words that would at all

What I find the most interesting about J-K is the way in which he engages his audience. He doesn't speak with an air of authority but rather asks all to join him in investigating a question or topic. In doing so, he allows us all to find the answers within ourselves rather than being told.

To observe without choice is the beginning of self knowing !
The observer(the mind) and the observed (the image mind has created about what you look at, when you look at a tree, you don't actually look at the tree, you have an image about the tree/person) are 2 images looking at each-other.
When the observer has no image at all, THEN the observer is the observed.
The mind "observes" with the image she created, all you see is limited, cuz it's in relation and comparison with that image about "self".
Fear finds form in belief !

That's inward experience. Don't worry if you are not filtered all words in your mind. Because there is need of intellect to get deeper into these sentences. Which can be attained only by conciousness.
Don't worry if you are not getting any clue any comparison any questions any relation with your past memories. Because if you are not experienced a thing a idea a feeling how you can tell it as knowledge. Don't worry you are in safe zone

Comprendo perfectamente.

The fact, formula and the actions that one derives and performs are always in contradictory to one another cause he has just assumed to understand the concept of the fact but not the fact itself. The fact here implies the “true psychological inward fact”

Krishnamurti was a great rationalist and psychologist. He dives down to explore the mystery of mind. He very seriously analyses the psychological construct of man. He has invented his own technique of meditation. He hates to imitate any body .

When i observe a tree attentively, my mind says thats a mango tree, thats the bark, thats the leaves i m looking at n so on.In doing so there is an observer n the observed, 2 diff entity. Hence my sincere question is how do i observe without the interference of the mind so that the observer is the observed?

    • @conradblack2504
      @conradblack2504 3 года назад +1

Yeah exactly. How? Thought is always there. Let's suppose then that you just "experience" the tree which you can kind of do if you are meditating - just observing consciousness. But how does one make decisions from this perspective?

    • @suyashsharnagat2912

What actually being talked is to see WHAT IS ?
      Right ?
Means what is in front of you a Tree but while looking at it your conditioning is in such a manner that you immediately in mind says " Oh that's a tree, leaves , bark and so on... "
So what you have to do is to see, observe, being aware (Choicelessly )of the mind then , that it is saying it is tree, bark...
If you say oh ,damn i want to watch the tree and this mind is not allowing me , observe this choicelessly
Don't escape , be with it..
In this way you observe what is....
I feel it is clear now..

    • @fuzzfacelogic789

There is the observation of 'what is' and that also includes the 'what is' of all your thoughts. Hence it is a total process of observer and observed. Your "thoughts" are not something to supress or dismiss. That is the wonder of consciousness.

At the end, did he say that "knowing of oneself is the beginning and the end of all misery"? This is fascinating to me. It seems like it contradicts most people's hopes of what spirituality, self-inquiry, or the path of enlightenment will lead to.

At the point the observer only observes the observer, the observation can get rid of this observer too. Because the observer can get lost, you are not any observer at all. What's left when you (the observer) have left, is everlasting silence. Not a dead silence of nothingness, but a living, intense silence. What we are? Everlasting silence. All our lifes are disturbances of everlasting silence. They will come and they will go, like single ideas come and go. Have comfortable disturbances.
