Why is he called a “Philosopher”?! He has command over socioeconomic, geopolitical subjects, at a nuanced level. To label him a “philosopher” , I feel, almost undermines the actionable truth in every talk of his. The call to action for all of us to speak up, work for change, is very real.
It's not a degrading term and lots of philosophers have knowledge and understanding of many social issues. He mentioned Socrates for instance can't deny he was a philosopher and took interest in the government etc. that's why he was punished whereas Chomsky has not been.
A philosopher is one who has a love of knowledge. Every subject, science, math, literature, politics, etc. are all under the wing of philosophy. It’s just that these have all been specified with their own terms whereas we in the modern day just think about things like metaphysics and ethical study as philosophy.
Tank you professor Noam Chomsky.....is.... very interesting 🤔🦁....way people like you don't is in the white house, because the power of the capital Sistem.
Misleading. He praised Chavez for some of the things he had recently done during a visit to Venezuela. He later criticized him many times. He criticized The mass media's ignoring many sources during the pol pot genocide coverage. He pointed out that many sources including American intelligence are being completely ignored on this topic.
I think you need to watch the video one more time. He was talking about Central America. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_America He also said that the punishment depends on the society you live in.
The language he uses implies that Americans are at fault. He emphasizes that it is "our own" domain. Also, he further implies this by saying "we don't like to think of that comparison", implying that Americans should feel guilt because they have allowed this to happen in "our" domain. I'm not even American, but he is implying that Americans are at fault for this. It is not a leap to infer this considering his opinions on United States' influence and meddling in central America.
Yes, the United States *is* to blame for a lot of the horror that happened in Central America. And your “headless Chomsky” comment was ridiculous since he was talking about the “backyard” as it was called, Central America.
Someone doesn’t know their 20th century, Central American history. I don’t mean to embarrass you, but opinions don’t mean very much if they aren’t backed up with facts. Go read about the CIA’s role in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, etc. and then call him “headless” with a straight face.
I could talk to him and ask questions for years straight. What a jewel of a human.
Thank Mr.Chomsky for your continuous efforts and compromise with freedom, justice and a better society for humans.
I Love chomsky, he should get more credit. I will never forget him
this the guy that envies Venezuela

To be the voice of the voiceless.
Chomsky? He is the voice of his own ego and nothing else. He wouldn’t piss on the “voiceless” if they were on fire.
If only it was as simple as that. We are bombarded daily by endless spin from all directions.
truth is here and there. everywhere and nowhere.
@@greatmcluhansghost7134 Just not in this video. He's so full of shit.
My gratitude and gratify 🙏🏼, please.
