My favourite bit is where the producer behind the camera says something about the background and then Caroline Samuels hears his instruction and says "Ja, please"
Wow. I literally don't know what to say. I work at an advertising agency and we see all levels of talent from Amateur to Professional. This stuff needs to be on a different measuring scale.... With this level of disorganisation and technical failure points, they decided that their first show should be done Live ? Wow, compounding Incompetance with Arrogance.
This was painful to watch, but you have to feel sorry for the two anchors. It was not entirely their fault. You have to blame production for this too, and those two got thrown with a massive curve ball in what I assume were technical glitches. However, their lack of experience is showing(at least with the one in the green top). The more seasoned anchors would have just said "We seem to be experiencing technical difficulties and will be going for a break." And then allow the ANN7 production crew fix their own mess. Instead they were at times seemingly responding to the producer in their earphones when they should have been speaking to the viewers, and talking past one another, and just fumbling along. And then there's the multiple blank stares. On live television! It's just unforgivable.. Just say "we are going for a quick break". Simple. Don't pause and just look at the viewers blankly. It's like they forgot they were on live tv. Like I said, painful to watch.
why have you not posted the good work done by the girl on the right subsequent to this unfortunate first show, which was due to a production and technical fault rather than a presenter problem. I guess u only focus on the negative. Good on you!!
Shame, I feel sorry for them. The sound, av and teleprompter crew seem to be the ones more at fault here and you don't even see them. These 2 will always be the face of this failure and its not completely on them even if they are not professionals
I don't know if people have noticed that most of the videos from ANN7 have been removed from RUclips but surprisingly this managed to remain 🤔, basically all the mistakes but never the reports, I smell censorship.
She said: "Good One" because the woman on the right had to improv as the teleprompter did not work! The woman on the left was asking for the clicker.. ROFL!
In the other video with a female reporter, you can clearly see her struggling to read off the teleprompter, the speed of the teleprompter being off causing her to pause before the next line appears, she's squiting, so either her eyes need checking out, or the teleprompter wasn't properly configured for her. All are worse than just being amateur mistakes - they're complete failures. Half of these problems would've been sorted by a tiny rehearsal + tech check before hand.
Could not agree more. Its a damn shambles I tell you. I am ashamed to call myself a South African. I always maintain, if they can do the job, I don't care what race they are, but if they are employed on the basis of who they are and not what they can do, then NO.
Still. That look in the left guys eyes.. She looks terrified all the time, as if someone behind the camera are holding a gun pointed at her. Who let these people on television?
Ag, shame...cut them some slack...remember how bad SABC3's news have been when they switched over to their new format... Very similar stuff happened....
Okay, maybe the Guptas should have invested a little more on the production team since this are live broadcasts. Anyway, let them fumble for some time, but I believe they will learn the ropes and be professional...
The problem wasn't with the presenters. The problem is with the unqualified staff Trying to operate the studio. At one point you can see the presenter "Caroline Samuels" trying to give commands, telling the crew what to do. This is another example of why BEE is the worst thing that's ever happened to that country. They hire on the basis of providing opportunity to the "previously disadvantaged" (Yes they still see themselves as being disadvantaged). They run the country by the same failed system
Sure Servias... except you do this in REHEARSALS until you refine it. You don't go on air looking like amateurs while claiming to be "world class". Somebody doesn't know who to hire, somebody doesn't know what a professional (soundperson) is, somebody is spending money on glitter events instead on hot shot technicians. I guess we'll just have to watch the schooling, learning process happen live in our living rooms, while the rest of the broadcasters command the "News" space as professionals.
Eish, everybody and their sister wants to be a presenter and be 'famous'. Surely they should have had some training so that they can ad-lib when things go wrong...wrong...wrong!
And boom goes the dynamite.
Hahaha.
Caroline has more on this story...........Great stuff
They look TERRIFIED!!! Goodness, it's bad!
*me starting a new job talking to customers*
The guy in her ear was probably saying, "Shall I put you out your misery?" when she said "Ja, please". Epic Fail, even by SA standards.
That "Hello" killed me
My favourite bit is where the producer behind the camera says something about the background and then Caroline Samuels hears his instruction and says "Ja, please"
"Hello!" "Great Stuff"
1:14
Hello.
Sounds like "hellost" lol
"good one" and "great stuff" am not laughing
This is literally the most awesome thing I have ever seen.
Wow.
I literally don't know what to say.

Nelson Mandela's just like "maaaan ugh"
"Let's have a look at the package"
why have you not posted the good work done by the girl on the right subsequent to this unfortunate first show, which was due to a production and technical fault rather than a presenter problem. I guess u only focus on the negative. Good on you!!
I kept expecting the camera to cut to Steve Carell.
Shame, I feel sorry for them. The sound, av and teleprompter crew seem to be the ones more at fault here and you don't even see them. These 2 will always be the face of this failure and its not completely on them even if they are not professionals
I thinks they were suppose to have private broadcast before they go on air
I didn't know kitchens had green screens
Was waiting for the music that plays at the end of a Leon Schuster prank...
Did they not have a plan past - "this is Game On"?
Something I would expect from a high school news team.
I don't know if people have noticed that most of the videos from ANN7 have been removed from RUclips but surprisingly this managed to remain 🤔, basically all the mistakes but never the reports, I smell censorship.
Wasn't the girl on the right at SuperSport at one point?
is this Comedy Central or GuptaTV?
Shame maybe the teleprompter was slow
What's the difference ?
The intro graphics & footer slides are cool:)
so bad that this has made it to the online digital platform. lots of online reputation manage to do for the brand
That is a career ending 2 minutes of media
Lmao those headlines at the bottom
hilarious. my favourite part - 1:16 "...hello"
So this is the Mindy project.
If I had a Zim Dollar for every cringe-worthy moment in this clip, I could sponsor the "Game On!" wardrobe for the next year!
wow....where did they get these people from? This is horrible!
so awkward - Ricky Gervais wishes he could create moments THIS bad.
Oh dear, lady on the left is horrible. Audio kicks in and out. Mumbling in the background.
Is this rehearsals? If not, they are doomed to fail
She said: "Good One" because the woman on the right had to improv as the teleprompter did not work! The woman on the left was asking for the clicker.. ROFL!

Knees weak, arms are heavy
It's not the presenters, it's fail tech staff! putting them in an uncomfy position.
it was a recording, with a phone off a tv, plain to see that....
Does it get any more unprofessional than this?
Could not agree more.
Its a damn shambles I tell you.
I am ashamed to call myself a South African.

Really????
Girl in blue dress was so professional on SuperSport. What happened??
This was painful to watch. Painful i tell you
Is it a news channel or an entertainment channel? (-;
What a win!
"...Hello" is it me you're looking for?
NO!
They are women. They are part of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment charter.
the bloody cameraman couldn't even keep his shot steady. FFS!
This video is worse than the other two that I have seen so far. I just love the looooong pauses and blank stares.
I was thinking the exact same thing! There's something fishy about this channel, I highly doubt all the staff on the show are this incompetent
Ag, shame...cut them some slack...remember how bad SABC3's news have been when they switched over to their new format... Very similar stuff happened....
The more i watch this, the funnier it gets... 1:16 - HELLO, we're back from the break...! LOL
Wow, this is shocking!!!
I think they had a better lift-off from Waterkloof
Reminds me of primary school concerts ... hope nobody is paying for this!
American here. What in the f*ck sport are they showing a clip of. They ran and pitched the ball, and the outfielder that caught it had no glove on?!?
It's called cricket. It's different from baseball.
Level of Awkwardness: 1000
dont blame DSTV, Blame the Gubtas
I need to watch this channel just for moments like this. maybe that is their strategy to get people to watch!?
Okay, maybe the Guptas should have invested a little more on the production team since this are live broadcasts. Anyway, let them fumble for some time, but I believe they will learn the ropes and be professional...
Give them time. They will soon get the composure. We all have our bleeps & blunders in life.
Even worse than that.
Who dressed these people?
"Good luck" WTF?!
Caroline Samuels makes it obvious there are mistakes. Gupta's....you know how to deal with such. #OnlyJoking
I would rather watch YO'TV or cool cats than this atleast they know what is happening and not mistake an ad break with cricket.
Their biggest mistake was wasting our time with such crap!
The problem wasn't with the presenters. The problem is with the unqualified staff Trying to operate the studio. Sure is, puts me to sleep everytime.
And I wonder how much they get paid???
WHAT A DISASTER!!!!!! and we pay for this rubbish!
Good on em. For giving it a go
The first mistake was putting the two in charge of sports news, we all know it should have gone to the other gender - male.
this has to be the funniest thing i have ever seen
Oh god...
That is all
Not sure if I should give a thumbs-up for the funniness or a thumbs-down for the awkwardness...

" Ja please " ROFL

'Game On'
Brains off.
piss myself each time for Hello...
LOL.that must have been so embarrassing..
Great stuff, man.
But that's actually better than this cr*p. Lesson Learned..take the time you need..and give your viewers a killer production.
Congratulations.
Caroline looks like an uptight version of Skyler White. As if to say Skyler isn't uptight enough.
1:15 "Hello"
Terrible! Looks like a varsity production! :(
Exactly! WTF????
Annnnd Boom goes the Dynamite.
12 year olds with youtube accounts and a mobile phone with a camera could do a better job of presenting the news.
lol! Here comes the rugby... I never knew Mandela did rugby!
Can you imagine if they were black? The whole thing would be blamed on BEE
Three words... WTF!
