Amazing guide. Best I've seen made for this game. I had actually watched other guides on this same topic, but i couldnt understand the blessing system and the need to unlock trades, they just said you should do it. So, naturally, i never bothered, and now i have to start over from greens 😅.

One thing to note, for weapon trait upgrades it can be any weapon, like hit chance on staff will work on daggers and so on, only everything else has to be the same type
This was something that I realized with my alt character, honestly some blue gear that is fully traited is just straight up better than using a purple with no traits. I am playing staff/xbow and cdr is really good for the build, there is a blue helmet that has cdr as base stat and can have cdr as traits, so its basically bis at least until I get the reaper mask, but that will take forever.

Quick clarification on traiting: you don’t need a staff to add traits to a staff. You can use any weapon. ie you can use daggers to add traits to a staff.

In other words to switch out the bad first trait upon drop you would use trait convert selectively or farm more with a better first trait. You would never craft over and over again for better rng first trait. In general you would only max trait items that are easily farmable. Is that a correct summary
If you are f2p player you should go for farmable items specialy from open world dungeons in order to be able to max trait them easily without having to wait day by day . If this didnt answer your question maybe i understood something incorrectly.
One important note! When you go from Blue to Epic only use Blue when you your Epic are lvl 7 at 30% Then you use your +9 Blue to upgrade your Epic to +9.
I agree with most of what you say, but some purple items are so op that even without trait they are better than blue items in my opinion, like the dagger from cave of destruction that give 15 stats point and a really good passive
Idk... i swapped my deadeye blue cape fully traited for my bis purple cape and it really helped with me replenishing my mana. I was running out of mana way less.

You only get blessings. If you just unlock the traits on blue you get a few blessings if you max them out you get a lot of blessings. If you put a fully unlocked traits blue with max tier traits into a purple you get around 960 blessings. Blue are easy to get max traited so it is worth it ;)
This^ i made the purples i got that I wouldn’t use into extracts and used the lucent I made from those extracts to fully trait all my blue gear so that when I get the purples I need I will get 2 guaranteed traits the cheapest and most efficient way possible, not spent any cash on the game so far and 80% of my gear is max trait from this

man I knew most of this but the dissolve or unlock and dissolve to get powder was totally new - so much stuff is hard to figure out on the ps5 since you have to press so many button combos… and some mechanics are just blatantly different like of you want to extract trait on the PC you have it as part of the item context menu but on the ps5 you click the extract stone and select item from stash.. completely different experience fyi.. thanks for the vid
Dude hey, I have a question. My purple chest armor's melee endur. trait is 120 Lucent. Lowest blue chest armor melee endr is approximately 20 Lucent. Which is more sense for trait upgrade? Just one purple endurance or buy more blue?

Great vid! I have a couple questions, So in my build right now. There is a jump from green to purple accessory, how do I go about this? Max out a green and try with blessings into purple? Another question I have too, is if I have a bad trait on something, the only way to change that trait to one I want, Is to have the same weapon with the trait I am wanting? There is no other way other than RNG roll?
Just hit 50 last night! Any tips to increase drop rates? I was getting a good amount of blue mats but no gear/weapon drops in like an hour of where I was at.
Group of 6-12 friends of mine we have been playing this game. We have a rule only green gear and sell everything else. We have been running all the lvl 50 content..Other then raids we have been breezing through the content. All dungeons haven't been a problem as of yet. I have made 10s of thousands of lucent..maybe if we get serious about raids I may spend the lucent..but so far haven't needed anything over green gear. Pvp and pve haven't been a challenge with everything cleared 100s of times except top tier raids

MAXIMIZE LEVEL UP COST. Don’t be like this guy. Get your purple to level 7 with at least 30%. When you feed your blue level 9, maxed out 3/3 traits, it’ll take your purple to level 9 with 960 blessing. If you want to use a blue item with same trait to unlock the next additional trait of your purple, itll use 450 blessing so you gotta take that 960 blessing to 1350 blessing. Then you’ll have enough to use 3 same trait blue’s to feed into your purple using 450 blessing each
Is there a way to recover from my mistake swapping to purple too early? Aka Is dissolving it and starting with Blue gear again worth or does it throw me back too far? (non of my purple items are items i want to wear longterm)
Do not dissolve there is no reason to ! You will find the purple items you need in the future do not worry you just have to do research! Some blues are really nice and u will wear them for a long time such as bracelets necks etc.
What if i get a purple weapon, trait with a bad trait, lets say i fully trait bonus undead damage. What if i convert the trait then and make it heavy attack? Will the new trait also be fully upgraded or do I lose all progress on that trait?
This was very informative! I have a question though regarding using armor upgrades for the purple chest piece from the main story quest. Should I not even waste upgrade materials on it and get a blue chest somewhere to trait? Or should i upgrade it to +9 since it's free? And if I get a better chest piece later, how do I aquire more materials to upgrade it, can I transfer my +9 purple chest piece to another purple down the road?
Yes you will have to put one epic into another unfortunately :) Dont be hasty to get items. Do your research first. Before farming items i had to choose each item one by one and then go and farm it, as i also have my full epic gear on my mind. Unfortunately some mmos need planning and studying ;P Here is mine for example : questlog.gg/throne-and-liberty/en/character-builder/NocturneOfNaturalBeast
One things about what u said. You said that blue fully traited is better than purple. that is 100% the case BUT not every item is farmable easily. Even blue stuff that drop from the open map have so little chance to drop that you will never even trait up one item (killed hundreds and hunderds of orc exec, never drop my blue GS). The only way to trait up would be to spend lucent and buy traits in the shop. But to get lucent, you need to get lucky item to sell to the AH. Not everyone has this luck and thus not everyone will have fully max trait bleu. TL;DR : when you advise people not to go purple cuz blue gear can MAYBE fully trait, you should advice that only for items they can "reliably" obtain. Because some people will misunderstand and never go purple thinking that they must have blue trait fully first and then purple fully trait before making the jump instead of making the jump directly when blue has only one or 2 trait.
As i said in the video, try to find items that are farmable WITHIN Open world dungeons. If you don't get drops in there you are purely unlucky. Also a great trick if you have sold something in the Auction house is the following. You have a rare blue weapon lets say, buy 2 traits that you are missing from the AH (at Benny Server is probably 50-150 lucent for both of them) and then farm any weapon at a low level dungeon (example a bow drops in Ant nest) So now you can easily get your weapon max traited. Don't be hasty to when there are too many ways in the game to achieve what it needs to be done!

So is Staff of Umbramancer considered better than Toubleks? I guess just for the extra 4+ potential stats total, I liked Toubleks cooldown and extra crit rate but I'm stuck deciding.
Umbramancer has cooldown aswell! The only difference is the Crit rate that you only benefit from in PVE and not PVP as you cant always be max range. So stats are more important and this is why i rolled to Umbramancer.
What about purple with set bonus ? like the one that gives 14% Critical damage or 150 heavy attack chance. It still not worth it over fully traited blue ?
Well if you get set bonus it is definately worth it! That's another story though, this is because the game has come far enough for people to be able to get these items. when i created this guide set bonus were not yet droping from bosses :P At least on my server not on early access
So far, I barely upgraded all the traits on one weapon. Garbage drops equals garbage lucent. Not going to swipe for a game. Sometimes all you can do is look pretty…
Ya this games p2w is kind of nice imo, I am f2p also but sold a trait early for lucent and was able to buy battlepass/level pass and still have 2500 lucent leftover. I just got Toubleks Staff now after 40 dungeon runs(now that is garbage drops even more than you I guarantee it) with the worst trait on it. But now he has me thinking I should just get Umbramancers and I can afford 1 already with abyssal stones if I want. I got a bank full of stuff I could sell for smaller/mid lucent but I just haven't taken the time to.

I would say purple rings are like that at the moment as i haven't seen any good blue ones

man I knew most of this but the dissolve or unlock and dissolve to get powder was totally new - so much stuff is hard to figure out on the ps5 since you have to press so many button combos… and some mechanics are just blatantly different like of you want to extract trait on the PC you have it as part of the item context menu but on the ps5 you click the extract stone and select item from stash.. completely different experience fyi.. thanks for the vid

Dude hey, I have a question. My purple chest armor's melee endur. trait is 120 Lucent. Lowest blue chest armor melee endr is approximately 20 Lucent. Which is more sense for trait upgrade? Just one purple endurance or buy more blue?

Great vid! I have a couple questions, So in my build right now. There is a jump from green to purple accessory, how do I go about this? Max out a green and try with blessings into purple? Another question I have too, is if I have a bad trait on something, the only way to change that trait to one I want, Is to have the same weapon with the trait I am wanting? There is no other way other than RNG roll?
There is a way with trait stones. It is quite expensive though. And u cannot go from Green to Purple you have to go to blue first :P
Just hit 50 last night! Any tips to increase drop rates? I was getting a good amount of blue mats but no gear/weapon drops in like an hour of where I was at.
Open world dungeons are your best shot on drop rates!
Group of 6-12 friends of mine we have been playing this game. We have a rule only green gear and sell everything else. We have been running all the lvl 50 content..Other then raids we have been breezing through the content. All dungeons haven't been a problem as of yet. I have made 10s of thousands of lucent..maybe if we get serious about raids I may spend the lucent..but so far haven't needed anything over green gear. Pvp and pve haven't been a challenge with everything cleared 100s of times except top tier raids

Well if you would pvp with ppl who know the game you would be melted ^^ but content is fairly too easy. Bosses need ppl and some vear aswell

MAXIMIZE LEVEL UP COST.
Don’t be like this guy. Get your purple to level 7 with at least 30%. When you feed your blue level 9, maxed out 3/3 traits, it’ll take your purple to level 9 with 960 blessing.
If you want to use a blue item with same trait to unlock the next additional trait of your purple, itll use 450 blessing so you gotta take that 960 blessing to 1350 blessing. Then you’ll have enough to use 3 same trait blue’s to feed into your purple using 450 blessing each
I haven't done this in the past but i have heard it again. It is probably a good information i just haven't tried it myself.
Is there a way to recover from my mistake swapping to purple too early? Aka Is dissolving it and starting with Blue gear again worth or does it throw me back too far? (non of my purple items are items i want to wear longterm)
Do not dissolve there is no reason to ! You will find the purple items you need in the future do not worry you just have to do research! Some blues are really nice and u will wear them for a long time such as bracelets necks etc.
keep the purple, farm the blue ones and start maxing the traits of blue ones because fully traited blue is better than a single trait epic

What if i get a purple weapon, trait with a bad trait, lets say i fully trait bonus undead damage. What if i convert the trait then and make it heavy attack? Will the new trait also be fully upgraded or do I lose all progress on that trait?
Unfortunately it will return as a new lvl 1 trait :)
This was very informative! I have a question though regarding using armor upgrades for the purple chest piece from the main story quest. Should I not even waste upgrade materials on it and get a blue chest somewhere to trait? Or should i upgrade it to +9 since it's free? And if I get a better chest piece later, how do I aquire more materials to upgrade it, can I transfer my +9 purple chest piece to another purple down the road?
Yes you will have to put one epic into another unfortunately :) Dont be hasty to get items. Do your research first. Before farming items i had to choose each item one by one and then go and farm it, as i also have my full epic gear on my mind. One things about what u said. You said that blue fully traited is better than purple. that is 100% the case BUT not every item is farmable easily. Even blue stuff that drop from the open map have so little chance to drop that you will never even trait up one item (killed hundreds and hunderds of orc exec, never drop my blue GS). The only way to trait up would be to spend lucent and buy traits in the shop. But to get lucent, you need to get lucky item to sell to the AH. Not everyone has this luck and thus not everyone will have fully max trait bleu.
TL;DR : when you advise people not to go purple cuz blue gear can MAYBE fully trait, you should advice that only for items they can "reliably" obtain. Because some people will misunderstand and never go purple thinking that they must have blue trait fully first and then purple fully trait before making the jump instead of making the jump directly when blue has only one or 2 trait.
As i said in the video, try to find items that are farmable WITHIN Open world dungeons. If you don't get drops in there you are purely unlucky. Also a great trick if you have sold something in the Auction house is the following. You have a rare blue weapon lets say, buy 2 traits that you are missing from the AH (at Benny Server is probably 50-150 lucent for both of them) and then farm any weapon at a low level dungeon (example a bow drops in Ant nest) So now you can easily get your weapon max traited. Don't be hasty to when there are too many ways in the game to achieve what it needs to be done!

So is Staff of Umbramancer considered better than Toubleks? I guess just for the extra 4+ potential stats total, I liked Toubleks cooldown and extra crit rate but I'm stuck deciding.
I just got Talus Staff last world boss too actually, pretty sure that's the go to PvP one but still imagine the other 2 are better for pve.
Umbramancer has cooldown aswell! The only difference is the Crit rate that you only benefit from in PVE and not PVP as you cant always be max range. So stats are more important and this is why i rolled to Umbramancer.
What about purple with set bonus ? like the one that gives 14% Critical damage or 150 heavy attack chance. It still not worth it over fully traited blue ?
Well if you get set bonus it is definately worth it! That's another story though, this is because the game has come far enough for people to be able to get these items. when i created this guide set bonus were not yet droping from bosses :P At least on my server not on early access
So far, I barely upgraded all the traits on one weapon. Garbage drops equals garbage lucent. Not going to swipe for a game. Sometimes all you can do is look pretty…

Ya this games p2w is kind of nice imo, I am f2p also but sold a trait early for lucent and was able to buy battlepass/level pass and still have 2500 lucent leftover. I just got Toubleks Staff now after 40 dungeon runs(now that is garbage drops even more than you I guarantee it) with the worst trait on it. But now he has me thinking I should just get Umbramancers and I can afford 1 already with abyssal stones if I want. I got a bank full of stuff I could sell for smaller/mid lucent but I just haven't taken the time to.
