I know there are a few things I've missed based on the comment section but I hope you can see that I've tried my best to get some valuable information out to new players as best I can. The essence of this video was initially to help my friends and some new players in my guild, but made this into a video that my friends thought would be helpful for others. Please definitely put your advice that you have down below as I can see I've missed a very small handful of things. I do hope this helps you nonetheless and please look forward to more informative guides coming out soon. I will keep working towards improving my delivery and trying my best to ensure I have as much accurate information as possible.

That is a mature way to handle things. However, it would be great if you tell us which infos you missed.
Outside of farming items that could "possibly"/drop"for an item with the traits you need..The only other way is to spend lucent to upgrade your traits? Fastest way I should say. Is it possible to farm the materials for crafting green and blue items, instead of using lucent to buy off auction house?To buy the stuff you want to upgrade your trades with?
Why cant i unlock traits with my stones? Dont have the option
How do you get Lucent other than paying real money for it?

Endurance is not the equivalent of damage reduction. There is an actual damage reduction stat in game, actually 2. Endurance is the counter stat to critical hit chance. Raising your endurance will lower the chance of being critically hit.
I have ~1250 crit so unless you got like 1800 melee endurance ill crit u all the time.
@@jwag301 with yours 1200 crit and mine 800 endurance, you would have ~30% to crit

@@jwag301 good thing not everybody is playing for pvp. I'm a support entirely focused in pve, bosses and mobs don't give a sht abt endurance.
Crit is not so much of a problem in this game. It's crit+heavy attack
thank you for this, i was doing 1-2-3 but did not know you can use blue traits for blessing and can use the blessing for a better chance for it to stick, also what blew my mind was that you dont need to use the same piece to level up your trait and that you can use other "belts" with same trait to level up your trait... #Mindblown
I'd like to add that if you are going for 100% efficiency it's best to level your purple to level 7 @ 30% (I think may be a bit more not 110% sure) and then transfer your blue item into your purple. This will save you mats overall from going 6-9 on your purple later on.
Apparently it's level 7 and 31% to be safe.

This is a myth and you get the same exp either way, it's just slightly better in case of bad rng
Someone did the math and it's only 3.5% more efficient this way
You know, I was doing some rough math myself a few days ago and I came to a similar conclusion. It should only save significantly less materials only if you have really bad RNG for lvl 7 and on. Good to know that after RNG and averages, it doesn't matter as much.

This is very good information. I have to say, a lot of "influencers" came out with bad advice to slam +6 green into blue and level that up to transfer it to purple to get +6 purple. I feel very sorry for the people who listened to that awful advice; I did it with one item before I got told differently by a good friend.

One minor thing to add if you play the "long game". The chance on T1 purple is 10%, on T2 its 5%. Since Blessing transfers, you could go +9 blue trait it out. Get your BiS purple keep it base, just start maxing the traits out with 1-time unlock + 10% chance on blue which you can either farm/buy and then transfer the +9 traited blue when your BiS purple T1 is traited aswell since the blessing transfers and you have a higher chance on the T2, since the chance drops to 5%.
ugh the 6 green > 9 blue > purple is what i did. horrrrrrible. now im trying to play catch up cuz im regrinding gear

Idk who u watched but everyone been saing to FULLY TRAIR your gear before transfering And everyone who had valid knowledge on the game ALL mentioned to not transfer gear on lvl 0 higher tier equipment, first make it 7.50%(Even fully traited) For Example. IF you want to transfer already traited gear FIRST you lvl up purple gear TO LVL 7 AND 50% and transfer it after that to make it lvl 9 instantly. REASON behind that is (to lvl purple from 0>6 takes less materials compared to lvling it up from 6>9 because amount of growth stones needed increases by a alot and by each lvl the amount of XP per click decreases)
So basically if you need 50 growth stone to lvl up from 0>6 you need like 100 to lvl up from 6>9.
@@gandulfnopls7834 I heard that too, but then someone mathed it out and said its only some % more efficient. Too lazy to do the math, but it is a good point to first level it up to 7 and 50%. Idk you can rewatch some big influencers with that bad advice, i will not expose them. But the amount of people here and in the game with 0 traited blues and running around with 0 traits on epics but slammed all resources in them is noticeable.
Lil update Fake, you can actualy level up you traits with différents items, for your belt exemple, you dont need to use another belt you just need the same color with the same trait, worked for my staff, I could level up my trait with a dagger, hope that helps big Luv
You need an equipment piece that goes into the same slot. A weapon for a weapon. A ring for a ring. A helmet for a helmet. Any color works, just with the chance to fail from inferior grade.
Little bit of feed back. Great information and appreciate getting straight into it. But when actually doing an action, maybe slow down just a little on the clicks. Maybe just me but a thought. Thanks again dude, thanks for the info

I wish I knew all of this going into the game, great vid btw! I got a nice chunk of my gear epic already and some leveled, but i did not trait most of it yet. Is there any hope in getting it traited out without a huge headache or will i have to start over with lower gear and trait them up?

I'm not currently playing T&L (I'm really wary of NCSoft after how they ruined Lineage 2 some years ago going all-out P2W cash shop - so I'm sitting back and seeing how they handle it going forward), but this is a guide I'd definitely follow if/when I decide to really dive in. Your passion for what you do is great to see. Same with your humility, sense of humor, and appreciation for your community.

Bro...I wish I could get back all my growthstones so I could start over, I've equipped quite a few purples and fed those blues into them. After now understanding the trait system and how to game it, I feel like I've wasted so much time and potential....ugh
It's not hard to recover. You're just skipping a step. Fear not though. You'll be fine. Just give it time and don't give up.

Is there anything you can do with the fully traited blue when moving over to purple? Can you use it to upgrade, remove traits to sell, melt etc? Or is a fully taped blue now redundant when you have purple traited?

I'm confused by your explanation of evasion and endurance, from what I've been being told by bigger streamers is that endurance is the ability/chance to Dodge crit hits and evasion is the ability/chance to dodge regular hits. Also in regards to trait unlocking you do not have to have the same piece of gear with the trait that you want there are things called trait unlock stones which allow you to unlock the next trait availability as well as give you the ability to select exactly what trait you want that is available on that gear piece

if you have leveled up the blue with the traits and all. You still want to use that item to partly level up the purple? and what happends to the traits? will they be a part of the purple? like it normally levels up your purple item?

Thank you for this guide. Its super helpful and makes good sense! I was going straight for naked purple items but need to reconsider it now, esp as you can carry blessing from blue to purple items.
One question I have is around the tradeoff. You mention at 21:21 that the traits tradeoff vs magic defense is worth it (which i fully agree), but what about the stat tradeoff (ie that +4 wisdom and +4 perception) that typically comes with purple gear? As those +4s are pretty good to help your charcter hit the 30+ stat levels for those extra bonuses.

For late game long down the road when almost everyone has their late game builds most evasion builds won't do enough especially vs GS builds cause stat wise the hit chance will be higher than any evasion stat that can be reached so let it be up to your discretion for if an evasion builds something you want to invest in at this point in time, also traits can be unlocked with traitunlock stones for a selection unlock
You will definitely have higher evasion than your opponents hit chance with maxed tier 1 epic gear
rookie question.. once we are lvl 50, are we expected to level all the green gear traits the same way you showed on the blue gear? Or would it be better if I focus on the blue ones?

Hey there! hanks for nice explanation! It helped mi a lot to understand the "trait" situation and everything. Now I need to search how to effectively get some of this currency, how I´m able to sell anything in auction too and which traits should be best for my build :D but this is definitely a nice start since I finaly finish my 50lvl today. Oh and what to do with that fully lvld up and skilled blue gear when I swap to the purple one?

throwing a like and a comment since you had basically sunk 600 lucent into making this video.
One thing i see every guide video say wrong. Is that in order to level a trait, you need the same kind of item.
Example Bow - skill damage boost 1 -> you want to level it to level 2
you can actually buy ANY weapon that is cheapest that has trait skill damage boost, it does NOT have to be a bow in order to level a trait on a bow.
a weapon will level a trait of a weapon.
Armor will level a trait of armor
Accessories will level a trait of accessories.

Confused on the transfer part though. Once you have the blue fully upgraded and skills all done too, should you transfer it to the purple? Does that unlock any traits skills or is the transfer just for the level it self and shouldn't waste destroying the fully upgraded blue ?
i would like for someone to do a video with the most common Endurance / Evasion numbers.
What numbers are most pvp dps players going to build for hit chance vs how much evasion do players usually have.
What number of endurance should i be aiming for etc etc

I made the same mistakes with traits, as did a lot of my guildies, and I've noticed you have gone back to blue and basically started doing what you should have done, but since I like many other transferred a blue to my purple armours already it looks like I can't level up another blue ( fully traited this time) and transfer that in again. The purple shoes don't show up on the transfer list and they are level 7..... What should I do with them? They are not BiS for my class either.

Also if u are f2p Transfer a fully traited blue gear onto your desired purple gear it will transfer all the blessing from leveled blue gear traits

If you have a naked blue gear and you get a good purple, wouldn't it be better to just start working directly on the purple gear? I managed to get almost all purples well before I got any traits unlocked/upgraded on my blues so other than leveling up my blues to speed up my purple leveling I have just been working on the purples. I agree that max traited blues are better than naked purples, but seeing as I get purples well before I max a blue then I think skipping blue is fine

Weapons you can use any type of weapon with the trait as long as you have it unlocked

I have to admit. Im currently doing the 1, skip 2, 3 path. I raced to 50, didnt trait my blue because i didnt want to waste the resources. Surely now that i am where i am, traiting my naked blue gear isnt worth it and i may aswell trait purples. Or am i really missing something. I undertand traited blues are better than naked purps but surely naked blue to naked purp is ok?

Hey mate , thank you for the video , as a new player it really helped me a lot but i would like to ask one question, lets say i did full blue set with full traits, what if i want to upgrade my gear to purple? Can i transfer those traits in to my purples? Or after 9 lvl blue set with full traits when i want to transfer my items from blue to purple , do i lost every traits? what should i do here? hold my full blue 9 lvl set after i get good traits until i collect every piece metariel to upgrade purple with better traits then blue set? Yeah I done messed up in a BIG way lol,
I used my fully leveled Blues (with no trait upgrades), to just level up my purple gear items and just rolled with it.

11:00 I tryed today to lvl up traits on blue weapon, greatsword specifically and I didn´t have to use GREATSWORD type of trait to lvl up lat say hit chance on that greatsword. I had some wand and bow in my inventory with that trait and I could use them to lvl up the trait in greatsowrd. I suppose you just need to stick within category. So for unlocking trait - you have to have that same weapon type and weapon itself with desired trait but for lvling it up you can go with the cheapest weapon trait on the market

Godlike video man, quick question: I got lucky and dropped 2nd BIS greatsword for me (Banshee) but my 1st BIS is Duke magna furyblade, banshee has a mega good trait tho (hit chance), should I fully upgrade the banshee or wait to drop/craft furyblade? Thanks!
Wait until furyblade drops, meanwhile u can farm blessing with the banshee gs, put a bad trait and start slamming blues

We can transfer traits when we get a new one? Or we have to start from zero? (Purple to a better purple)
This only makes sense if the players goal is strength asap. What if the players goal is efficiency, a word you used a lot. there is no way it's more efficient to trait out your blue gear completely rather than just skip that step all together, I just got my first purple that I actually want for my build, and I will be unlocking my first traits ever on it.
There is no content I have not been able to do and I win my weekly arena matches solo queuing
The thing is it feels a waste to spend lucents on traiting blues with optimized trait instead of just junk one to directly jump on purples, since the blues traits are just wasted anyway. :/
