I did the Stoer to Drumbeg road last year didn't think it was that steep. You are right enough about getting stuck behind cars on a hill as sometimes they stop and don't realise you are behind them, you then have to do a hill start.I nearly dropped my bike in the Lake district because of it. Thanks for the Video they are bringing back happy memories.Cheers !!
Pleased your enjoying the vids Jonathon and Scotland isn't to bad for traffic up in the highlands but yeah if ya get stuck behind one up a hill its a pain. thanks for watching and ride safe my friend.
Another fantastic video Steve brings back memories of happier times when my brother and I did the NC767, unfortunately my mother passed away on the 21st of September and your videos are helping me through a difficult time Thank you.
So sorry to hear about your mother Phillip take care my friend.
Incredible video Steve. Happy we got to see the raw video and you chose that route. Unbelievable road, excellent biking skills and incredible scenery. Thank you for sharing it with us, I am blown away.
Thanks for watching my friend and for taking time to comment appreciate it.
Thanks guys the video coverage is fantastic and Scotland, WOW, amazing views
Thanks for watching Mark and pleased you enjoyed it. Ride Safe my friend.
Thank you Steve for "taking" me on such amazing ride, since it started. At times I really feel I'm the one driving the bike and enjoying such amazing scenery. Its people like you (and Dec) that inspire us to get out of our comfortable sofas and get on the road to discover how amazing and beautiful this Country is! Definitely on my bucket list! Please keep sharing, keep inspiring and safe ride!!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting Nelio since you mentioned its like your riding the bike I've had a look and can see what you mean. More episodes to come yet my friend thanks again Steve
Stunning views. True what they say, travel is judged in time not distance in Scotland. Great video mate 👍
Thanks for watching Neil and the comment.
Getting better all the time Steve 👍🏍 Ride safe.
Cheers Rick thanks for watching and appreciate the comment buddy
Cheers Steve ...Yet another great road to add to our itinerary for next year's trip to Scotland . You have become my personal tour guide, been watching and stopping vid while I check out route on Google maps. Will binge watch the entire tour again, just before we leave. Hopefully we will get reasonable weather 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks for watching my friend and pleased your following on a map this is the reason I wanted to document it down to each turn and road we went on so others could enjoy this epic journey. Ride Safe
It’s an awesome road. Did this last year with a couple of mates but clockwise and we had blue skies and 22 degrees. Unbelievable scenery and we even spotted a wild stag.
Wow wild stag bet that was amazing , thanks for watching
Bloody great video there Steve. We drove that road over 30years ago in Mercedes T1 camper we'll be doing it next week in a LWB Renault Master camper. I don't remember it being so steep but I've had a few beers since then.
Thanks for sharing Steve and keep em coming.
Have a great trip Barry and thanks for watching
So many memories! Thanks FLoaB!
I did the same road September 2018 in the car but from the other way, bloody loved it!
I decided to get my bike licence sorted this year bcos of THAT road to Drumbeg.
Thanks for the videos FLoaB, got yourself a sub. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Rich I know you have done it but on a bike you will love it mate. Thanks for watching my friend
Thanks for bringing back some amazing memories Steve. We were gunna do the same thing and miss that turn and head for Lochinver until someone mentioned to us about this road called the Drumbeg Loop. Seeing you standing at that viewpoint like we did just makes me itch to go back and do the 500 all over again. Cheers :)
Yeah think that I will be returning to do it all again, Thanks for watching fella
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt id love to join you for part of it Steve, If i may,,
totally blissed out at 24:53. I rode passed that one, I'm glad you had the sense to stop... Exquisite scenery and with more to come...
Certainly was a breathtaking piece of scenery that my friend
Even if you don't talk its a beautiful trip, love your style. Beautiful country. Never been there , so through your eyes & video's I see alot more of the World. Thanks!!

Cheers Steven pleased you enjoyed fella
Bloody hell Steve that 30 mins went over too quick, cracking road with a great view to end with and you got the sunshine, roll on next episode. I'll have to get myself back up there now.
Cheers Alan it was some road didn't know how people would react to a full episode only covering 9 miles but positive so far. thanks for watching
Wow Steve, what a road that was! I was in the pub having a pint this afternoon when a RUclips notification popped up on my phone to say you had uploaded the latest instalment of this cracking journey. As always I shall await the next instalment with great anticipation. Thanks for the continued pleasure these videos bring on on these dark rainy evenings 😀👍🏻
And thank you for watching David and taking time to comment my friend.
What better way to do the nc500 ,by bike .
I live at the start of this route.have never done it ,but you never know what the future holds .
Thanks for taking us for the ride along 👍
Pleased your enjoying our journey and you should really do it, you are so lucky to have it on your doorstep.
I see the sheep shearing hut has still not had its roof mended as youshowed when you stopped at that beauty spot. I almost wore out my brakes last time I drove that route and its good to see it hasn't changed that much. Cheers Lads. Must say it shows a learner biker what he faces oif he choses to go out with you boys on a run!!
Your so right Atholl I have replaced both sets of brakes since returning home. Thanks for watching fella. 👍
Brilliantly beautful vid, glad to see your doing the full bit. I have attempted twice but failed for different reasons, so really jealous, if you do it again can I join you. Cheers Stevie.
Cheers fella won't be doing it again for a while as loads of other stuff to journey round, ride safe my friend.
Absolutely brilliant Steve loved the way you let the filming keep running it was like being with you on the ride thanks Steve look forward to the next one ride safe
Cheers Jim did not know how this ep would be received by you guys with no editing or anything cut out but thankfully its all been positive. Ride Safe my friend
New to your channel.Very good vids. Like that you state the roads and places so we can check where you are going and to plan our own rides. Also great you name music, great choice👍
Cheers Gary pleased you enjoy them, plenty to go at lol, ride safe my friend.
What a belter Steve great road on a great bike that’s built for that looking forward to the remaking videos ride Safe buddy
Thanks Norrie just uploading tomorrows episode which finishes this road off and concludes day 4 arriving at Kinlochewe. Ride Safe my friend.
There's a lot more traffic on that route now they call it the NC500. I've done it a few times when it was the tourist route and a lot less traffic.
Good video and great to see again.
Thanks for watching fella and for taking time to comment appreciate it.
Hi Steve, glad you put this loop in your vlog, I'll make sure I don't miss it out on my trip next year .
No worries and yoiu will be blown away by it in 'Real Life' enjoy my friend
wowserrrrrrr >>> your NC500 767 word.. I am using it. The missus and my Scotland trip is imminent Steve.. Lockdown measures are lifted on travel to Scotland so a few days of wild camping :)))))) HAPPY DAYS
You are gonna love it. Have a great trip my friend
Well done Steve, it's a challenging ride but well worth it in my opinion, I never miss doing it when I am on the NC500. There is another little road just further South than Lochinver called "The wee mad road" that is worth a spin. I will be back up there next May, can't wait, you are bringing back lots of great riding memories. Cheers
Hey cheers for the tip on another small road will give it a try when next up there, cheers Peter
Best things come to those that work for it. You've got to work on that road but it's beautiful round there. I've not done it in that direction.
Cant understand anybody wanting to fly along there, you don't get to owt!
Nice one Steve, it might be nadgery but it's well worth it 👍
Well worth it Nick that viewing point was great and the ride was enjoyable. Ride Safe mate
Another cracking video Steve! That Travis Perkins driver looked like he'd been up there a time or two! I quite like to follow someone on roads like those as they act as like a 'forward scout' so you pretty much know there are no surprises around the next blind bend or over the next crest. Looking forward to the next episode.
Have to agree Paul that lorry was like my pace setter and guide and then he let us through and I thought now we are on our own lol. Thanks for watching my friend
I've started to hang back a bit further behind now, in fact as far back as I can where I can still use them as a 'trail blazer' that way they 'know' you're not interested in coming passed (usually) Assuming there is no one up your exhaust pipe obviously. You ordered the sunshine for the viewpoint! Think I would give it a miss if it was raining heavily,
Someone commented that they had done it in heavy rain and told me it was very very hairy scary as I bet it was.
Thanks for your effort and great video 👍 My future Scotland trip has many clues now because of you 🙏
Pleased you enjoyed it Devri and thanks for your comment. ride safe my friend
Done this part of the NC500 a couple of months ago in a campervan (can only imagine what it's like on a bike), one of the scariest roads I've been on. As you say I don't know why people don't take this route as it's part of the 500. I can only think that the people that say the Applecross Pass is the scariest have missed the B869 part out. Applecross has nothing on this. Great vids btw, keep them coming. 😁
I have to agree with you Ally I thought this road was more of a challenge than Applecross, thanks for watching my friend.
well road steve & dave trying ride it looked but great to be done and it stayed dry great video well done
Thanks Colin and its Dek not Dave but he's that laid back he won't mind in the least. Thanks for watching my friend.
Another well put together video Steve stunning scenery brilliant.
Appreciate the positive comment Kevin thanks for watching my friend
Spot on Steve, you guys loved that road, similar for us, after Glencoe take a right to Kinlockeven B863 to South Ballachulish, great road and views, most miss it out, worth the detour as you did. May have a go at NC 500 sometime> Ride Safe catch you soon.
Thanks Derek will have to try that road you mention on another tour fella as we have been home now a fair few weeks. Oh and would highly highly recommend you do the NC767 ride safe Derek
Thoroughly enjoying this trip your doing, my wife and myself are able to watch this on TV, We appreciate the effort that you take to make this a worthwhile watch. Pick up my RT next Saturday, 14 plate. Scotland next May, can't wait. Cheers.
Aw mate you are gonna love the RT my friend they are an amazing machine and thanks for taking the time to leave a positive comment appreciate it. Ride Safe my friend
Hi Steve another great video, keep'em coming pal in a bit
Few more episodes yet Keith cheers.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt Hi Steve have you decided what to do with Devon problem. Are you going to scrap it. In a bit
@@keithsimpson7525 still finishing NC767 editing then I'm going to have a look at Devon again. Got some great drone footage on that one so have to figure something cheers
Brilliant video the scenery looks amazing

Superb ride out really enjoying your trip many thanks Tony
Cheers Tony pleased your enjoying it my friend.
I actually like those kinds of roads. Wonderful.
I do enjoy them too as something very different. Thanks for watching Amanda ride safe my friend.
Stunning scenery Steve, and if that was a "B" road, hate to think what Minor road is like up there, another great trip, stay sunny side up big fella
Ha ha cheers Alan appreciate the comment my friend.
Some of the A roads aren't too much better up here. Many are single-track too.
Fantastic. I thought it would get boring watching 26 minutes unedited, but not a bit of it!
Have to tell you I've never not edited my footage before and did not know what to expect from viewers but I'm happy I did now as have had nothing but positive comments, Thanks Vincent
Oh nooooo,,,,,,,,,, I'm going to have to go back now and do it again, how did I miss that bit out ? Gutting ! Looking forward to the next one Steve.
Cheers fella and yeah good reason to 're ride eh thanks for watching
I like your videos they make me think of my videos a lot. Thinking of doing the NC500 after the lockdown.
cheers fella
Hi Steve fantastic videos of the nc500, will be doing this tour in June 23, also on a BMW but on a 1997 K1100RS, although my mates bike will probably be better on the very narrow lanes as he will be riding a 500cc Honda Rebel, hope the weather will be good, thanks again for your videos very informative, cheers.
PS you should come over and do the Wild Atlantic Way on the Emerald Isle.
Thanks Pat appreciate the comment and pleased you enjoyed them. Wild Atlantic way is on my bucket list, hope the weather is good for you and have a great tour it's amazing.
The view from Drumbeg and the white sands of Mora is what the west coast of Scotland is all about.
A photo of you in a T-shirt in Scotland is very rare indeed 😂😂
😂 yeah to be in a t shirt in Scotland is a rarity which is why I got photographic evidence lol.
Steve Clark I’ve lived here all my life (lucky boy) and I’ve only got a handful of photos wearing a T-shirt 😂😂😂😂
Hi Steve this brings back memories from a few weeks ago. Myself and two friends did this loop when it was pissing down we could hardly see a thing. The blind crest's and trying to pass the cars was hairy to say the least when your visit was steaming up. It's nice to see it in the dry .
Wow Ian really wouldn't fancy it in those conditions, well done my friend
That was amazing. Well worth the detour pal.
Without a doubt Kaza it was a great road. 👍
Such a great vid. Drumbeat is so wonderful 👍
Thanks Mike and yeah Drumbeg is beautiful
Just watched this episode and so far this looks like the most scenic ride so far.....stunning. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The whole trip gets better and better the further you get round it doing it anti clockwise Shane 👍
Steve Clark just watching episode 8 now, cracking 👍🏻 Roll on Spring 😎👍🏻
@@MrSTAdventures binge watching eh sir lol enjoy and yeah roll on spring big-time lots planned this year.
Steve Clark On a days leave and couldn’t think of a better way of spending it. Was going to get out on the bike but the weather down here is absolutely crap. Out of curiosity do you have the genuine BMW pianist liners for all three boxes?
@@MrSTAdventures I only have the pannier liners not top box and they are copies off EBay and were brilliant, did the job spot on. Think you just pay for the name really.
What a stretch of road! Stunning. Well ridden👍
You certainly needed to concentrate 100% on this one my friend.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt Yeah wet plus dry patches plus loose dirt/stones n sharp bends. At night would put hairs on your chest and take you some time.

Great upload Steve. Did the same road a few years back and completely agree if you are going to do the NC500 then this IS the road to do! Also just picked up a RT and absolutely love it!
Thanks for the positive comment fella and you will fall in love with the RT my friend awesome machines. ride safe bud
Done that route in the other direction to yous back in June and shit I loved it.On me own on a Yamaha super tenere thanks for taking me back lad.👍👍
Really pleased you enjoyed that and well done for taking that on on your own fella, am tempted to do it again but clockwise like you did bet its totally different from which ever you do first.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt I suppose either way is great.May we bike safe and have good health to do it again Steve. 👍👍
Yes Derrick thanks again and ride safe my friend
Enjoyed a great ride there Steve. Encountered a similar such road on my recent trip to the Galloway forest. Hard work on my FJR 1300 with gravel and dodgy cambers but well worth it.
Look forward to the next video 👍🏍
Thanks for watching and an FJR is a big lump of kit to get round tight ones my friend well done.
Done it last week my friend ,I believe it’s called “ the wee mad road”
Sounds about right that Neil a very fitting name fella, thanks for watching 👍
Passed that turn off a hundred times, won’t miss it out the next time .

Bit of binge watching eh Paul and your good lady wife, appreciate the comments my friend and Ride Safe, am enjoying your Romania tour and the "eventful meet and greet" vids lol. Take it easy mate and keep up the good work.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt Cheers Steve likewise matey. Safe riding.
If you really thought that stretch was steep, then Applecross up to Bealach na Ba is even more so. Traversed Bealach na Ba many times in my Range Rover in all weathers before they close the snow gates. But so good to see your travels. Surprised you do not have a radio link with your mate behind.
Agree Applecross was special my friend thanks for taking the time to comment.
I've just done the NC500. Came back on monday. I missed this bit out as well, but I was in a car.
Maybe next time eh it's well worth it
i rode the 25% bit last year 2 up loaded with camping gear in p*ssing rain, definitely a challenge.. especially on a Multistrada that notoriously have crap rear brakes for pulling up at passing places on the steep bits 😬
Holy cow well done you it was hard enough on my own in good weather so dread to think what it was like for you. thanks for watching fella
Did this many times and must rank as one of the best routes, did it in 24 hrs from Glasgow then back again❤️
Agree Gerry top top road
Another great video Steve. Looked a bit hairy at times. You can tel you enjoyed it though. Cheer mate.
cheers Paul was a great road and did really enjoy it. ride safe bud
Great video guys fantastic views
Cheers Jed yeah the view you are rewarded with certainly makes it all well worthwhile.
If you want tough try Ardnamurchan Point on a wet day, single track, a blind corner every 100 meters, gravel, potholes etc etc. When I eventually got there it dawned on me that I had to do the same bloody journey to get back. Very hard days riding.
Wow just watched an episode on said road and I see what you mean thats a grueller
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt I'd just done Cornwall (Lizard & Lands End) up to Fort William via Lowestoft Ness in four days when I decided to take in that little ride, well it wasn't far on the map! Went and got very drunk the next day.
@@joebloggs1317 Ha ha got drunk like it
Brilliant as always 😋
Cheers Brad 👍
How lucky the Scots are to live immersed in such beautiful landscapes. Have you ever done any wild camping up there? Rich.
To true Rich it has to be the most scenic part of our UK and no not done any wild camping my friend getting to the age where I need a little more comfort lol.
LOL. I know what you mean buddy.
If I wasn't on Coronavirus lockdown I wouldn't have taken the time to watch all of these beautifully made videos . I did the whole thing the other way on an ER5 . Speed means nothing on that road .
You are so right if you go fast you miss all the true beauty there is to behold. Thanks for watching my friend
Nothing wrong with letting the journey do the talking ;-) Highland sheep seem to be smarter than most, they don't panic when a vehicle approaches.
Yes I didn't know how people would react to a full episode only covering 9 miles but positive so far. thanks for watching

Beautiful road and views, we didn't go that way due to having a new rider in our group which wouldn't have been fair but man do I want to do it now :D
certainly was an amazing road my friend but fair play to you guys for taking into consideration a new rider, credit to ya true team riding.
Well worth a trundle down in my opinion.👍
Dead right Si a fantastic road to ride.
That's a gnarly bit of road Mr C! Bet you found Applecross better? We'll see next week ...
Certainly was a gnarly road fella and Applecross was amazing too.
Great vid ....thanks
Thanks fella
Tell you what, that truck driver was good on that road !
Yeah amazed me how they get them up and around such tight bends Joe thanks for watching fella.
Could you please tell me what month you made this trip. I was thinking about following your exact route maybe next May or so. I was going with a major touring co. But I think After watching your awesome videos I can just rent a bike and do it on my own.
Hi Jamie we did it in the middle of June but Scotland is always a gamble all year round weather wise. You will not regret doing this route my friend it's awesome and would HIGHLY recommend doing it anti clockwise as it then gets better and better the further you get round it scenery wise. Hope this helps fella Ride Safe.
Most times the drivers that don't wave are locals. It is sometimes good to stick behind someone, that waythey slow down the oncoming traffic. The best folk to stick behind are the locals, who REALLY know the road!
Very good advice Wallace thanks for that appreciate it my friend.
In fact, where you stopped to let the little boy with his Dad cross the road in Drumbeg is just past the hotel we stayed at.
I remember passing it
Some of them roads look amazing pity work gets in the way maybe next year after the IOM

Would be a nightmare ride with loads of those camper vans blocking the whole road and spoiling the views.
Luckily Alex we mainly had the roads to ourselves thanks for watching my friend.
@@Steve-Clark-1200rt Yes have really enjoyed the series so far. How have you found riding your RT on the little roads? Would a GS be better do you think or much the same?
I really am starting to feel at one with the RT now that I have done this whole tour, would think that a GS is probably purpose made for roads like these but the RT coped superbly.
Beware of Pigs & Piglets, signs - Corsica, found around many mountain roads.
Wow cheers for that Jean.
Did you go back for a tea at the Drumbeg Stores? My brother is the owner & runs it but weve not been in touch for many years
Wow your brother is a lucky man living in such a beautiful place as Drumbeg it's simply stunning.

@@andym6608 really appreciate you taking the time to comment in such a positive way thanks
This route can be easily turned into a figure of 8. I have done it numerous times and can't believe how unlucky you were with the amount of traffic you encountered....the road is usually dead...Incidentally, in my experience few of the locals will thank you for giving way, and BEWARE the log-carrying and tipper drivers up there, they don't give a flying f&$K about tourists and they won't stop for you....
Figure of 8 noted Julian for next time and loved this road and so many miss it out.
Seems the drivers are as ignorant and none acknowledging as they are in North Lincs!!!
You got that one right Tucker, thanks for watching
