  • In this video, I'll show you my top 10 reservoir competition flies (and how I fish them) for use during competitions during the latter part of the trout season.
    All have a proven track record, giving me great success in the lake fishing competition environment. Many of them have brought me and others great success, I hope they work for you too!

    Great patterns and discussion. I 100% agree on the orange. I tie some leech "sorta" patterns for trolling or stripping in still water, and rivers. Some orange body or a anodized orange tungsten bead work better than any other patterns for me so far.

    Competition fishing the demise of fly fishing as we knew it. No more traditional flys being tied blobs eggs fling the line as far as you can and pull it back as quick as you can . Thank god my fishing days did not include this so called fly fishing . 50yrs I have fished for enjoyment and tied traditional flies I won’t change but I think a new generation are missing so much .
