    1. True. It is believed fingers prune to get better grip. If fingers suffer from nerve damage, they might not prune
    2. False. Broccoli is of course grown green.
    3. True. Pool noodles are applied to soften the impact of the horns.
    4. False. According to most stationary producers the red side is for pencil, the more abrasive blue for ink, regardless of how good either side actually is at their job. On many versions of this eraser, there would be a stylized pencil tip on the red part, and a pen tip on the blue end. Other sources say the blue part was originally meant for thicker paper.
    5. Mixed. Depending on how clean the flame is, it will have more or less of a shadow, and even a clean flame will distort light in a way that's shadowish.

11.Mixed. for economic reasons, all Skittles have the same taste, but instead contain a variety of cheaper aromas. Our sense of taste is deeply linked to color, and especially aroma though, leaving every skittle with a distinct flavor, so it's more a question of philosophy.

    25. True. While they can live that long, it averages at around 15 though.
    26. False. The creator has stated that the game was created as a culmination of his love for street art, skateboarding, passion, music and street life
    27. False. Energy comes from other sources than grass. Not all prey animals eat grass.
    28. Who knows, maybe? Probably?
    29. False. The belly button and umbilical cord does not function as a mouth. The umbilical cord carries only blood to and from the baby, with all the oxygen and nutrient the baby needs.
    30. Mixed. Some restaurants use stock photos, and others take their own pictures of their foods.
    31. Possibly. Open to interpretation.
    32. True, kinda. Depends on your definition of "Earthquake," but also this was as the opening act to the Foo Fighters, who caused a much bigger tremor. The original source does not state where or if it registered in the Richter scale, though it's not uncommon at all for large concerts to do so.
    33. False. There is no recorded case of an adult whale drowning without human intervention. Whales are buoyant enough that they'd expend little energy surfacing. They're more likely to starve, because of the energy needed to get food.
    34. True. The secretary Bird, Sagittarius serpentarius.
    35. False. Anslem Douglas who wrote the song covered by the Baha Men, has stated that the "dogs" are catcalling men, not ugly women.

So, to explain the misunderstanding that Goofy is a cow. Goofy was originally introduced as a character named Dippy Dawg. Over the decades, the design changed to the Goofy we know today. The reason why Goofy is mistaken as a cow is that a majority of the time, when he needs a romantic pairing in a cartoon, he's paired with Clarabelle Cow. However, Clarabelle was originally paired with a character Disney doesn't use as much anymore named Horace Horsecaller.

Additionally they sent a bunch of Japanese to Mexico including samurai so now there's a non insignificant amount of Mexicans with Japanese ancestry. Including myself legally making me not a weeb.
Anyways the relationship has been pretty good almost 200ys later despite obvious problems both countries have faced including fighting against each other in the war. To this day Mexico is most lenient with Japanese people wanting to visit.
The only time this relationship was likely questioned would be when the Mexican president told Toei Animation to frick off when Toei said no to Mexicans gathering in the capital for a live viewing of Goku vs Jiren. hmm, a random fact... "Despite current day usage, Sinister is just the counterpart to Dexter which means Left and Right Hand respectively." is something i recently learned.
also bonus fact that most probably know: the way mirrors work in many videogames is by having a mirrored copy of the room behind the mirror frame,as well as a copy of your character, which mirrors your movements. an example of that is MGS1 and you can actually glitch into that room and literally see behind the (smoke and) mirrors.
2:15 im guessing the pillow below your knees when on your back is so you dont have your knee bent forwards. hyperextension, or something i believe its called.
i was told that its not a good thing when i tried to touch my toes during a checkup. also obviously you are meant to breathe manually, not automatically.

5:12 read just a few days ago that a Rammstein concert apparently also did that in Hamburg, Germany. probably happens quite regularly tbh, its just about having a measuring device nearby.
6:58 just wanna point out i cringed at his pronunciation of that french name
7:47 that is true and not only in the US. though im only getting grey ones recently, so im wondering if the company opted out of that or my supermarket only gets batches made a specific day.
10:35 cringing again at the pronunciation of that german color name, but cant blame him as much for not knowing that. its eye-gen-gra-ow, hard G's, like in "go".
12:42 from what little i know, the Iliad is basically *THE* classic piece of epic literature and basically all modern epic hero stories are similar to it, intentionally or not. it features themes such as fated death, glory and heroism, but also hubris and pride. think about any franchise you like and it probably has such themes.
19:48 when i was a kid there was a really popular brand of markers that showed in their commercials to fill them with water.

then he pronounces ale right, just to read mighties instead of mightest... i mean i dont know the guy, maybe hes dyslexic or something.
22:47 thats a load of rubbish, the dial is the *"browning control"*. it literally cannot control the time, because the time is dependent on how hot your toaster is on the inside. if you toast several slices right after one another, the ones after the first batch will come out faster, since the toaster doesnt have to warm up. there is a bi-metallic strip inside the toaster that determines when the toast pops out. the same tech is used in certain fuses in your home, to prevent the fire hazard of a grid using too much power for too long.
a lot of these things are very questionable. remember to not believe everything you hear on the internet, kids! -such as this alien claiming its female-

    • @JDJeanMichel
      @JDJeanMichel 24 дня назад +1

Some of the more expensive models have switched to cheap computer chips on a timer (although that timer is not always set to 1:00 per number). There’s a good Tom Scott video on it!

The toaster one is a it depends. Some toasters are "timer toasters" where the number refers to minutes. However, most toasters that people own today are capacitor toasters. Capacitor toasters work by filling a capacitor and when it's full it shuts off and your toast pops out.
This is not on a strict timer, for example, my toaster has a max setting of 7 but it does not run for 7 minutes on that setting. Instead it only runs for about 4 minutes. The lowest setting, 1, does run for about a minute though.
A side effect of this is two capacitor toasters at the same setting won't necessarily give you the same level of toastyness. So your hotel toasted bagel may come out extra burnt or not toasty enough if you use the same setting that you do at home.

The scientific name for the secretary bird is Sagittarius Serpentarius.
Historically most clothes didn't have pockets in them. Instead they would have small bags fastened to them, and this applied to both men and women. In the... 1200s I think there was a thing where you would have your under shirt, a bunch of bags fastened inside, and some slits in your outer shirt to reach through. Eventually men began adopting coats which made it difficult to reach inside and that's when internal pockets started to become popular for men. Women continued to use the belt/sash between layers of clothing method, and purses were developed when it became popular for women to only use one major layer of clothing (they still had a single underlayer but that was underwear and having slit access to it would have been scandalous).
The thing about the oven is that it depends on what kind of oven you have. Some ovens its a warming drawer, some its a broiler, but if there's no function for the drawer on the ovens control panel then it probably is just for storage.

the REASON humans don't use 100% of the muscles, is...because you want to KEEP your muscles functional, lol
it's possible to do extreme feats, but because they're extreme, you also damage your muscles 'n stuff, which means that probably rather soon after the "high" of the moment passes, the pain hits, and you will have trouble doing even normal things, because of that ;P
usually it's not permanent damage, but it'll take a bit to heal back
technically the way to get swole is also to slightly tear the muscles and then when they repair themselves they'll become bulkier, but still...

And many of us use it for storage as we rarely cook feasts big enough to need a warming drawer to begin with but we could use the extra storage space all of the time. I've never used the warm function ever in my life, just use foil or put it in a crockpot to keep it warm.

11:14 Muscles are sort of like brains, in that respect. The saying "most people only use 10% of their brain" misses the qualifier _"at any given moment"._ Different sensations, thoughts, and bodily movements are associated with different groups of neurons firing. All of your brain _eventually_ gets used, as you experience, think about, and do various things. If you used close to 100% of your brain _simultaneously,_ you wouldn't have "coherent thoughts" so much as you would have "an epileptic seizure". Similarly, the muscle fibers in your muscles take turns contracting, so they have time to reset the chemicals that let them contract. If you clench a large muscle and listen close, you can _hear_ them clenching and unclenching as a sort of low roaring sound.

    percentages being "reversible" is just mathematical trickery: think % like algebra, so here % = 1/100;
    if we have 52% of 37, that is 52/100 x 37 = Ans.
    if we have 37% of 52, that is 37/100 x 52 = Ans.
Using rules of multiplication, both of the above can be written as: (52*37)/100 = Ans.
