So much better than using glyphosate! Yay. I know 3 people that have glyphosate allergies, including myself. The hospital is getting to know me as this herbicide is so ubiquitous.
Absolutely amazing. Hate that I'm getting so old! I'd just love to see where we will be in 100 years. So many are so pessimistic about our future. I however am not. Humans are problem solvers, have been for many MANY thousands of years now. (I'm learning that civilization may be much much older than were were taught in school, and that human kind may have already survived MANY extinction level events. We survived what ever it was that killed off all of the mega-fauna 12,800 years ago. THAT was a biggie!
i'm not a historian, so I don't know but "We survived what ever it was that killed off all of the mega-fauna 12,800 years ago. THAT was a biggie!" wasn't that the ICE AGE?, didn't that happen around 10,000 years ago.
@@WonderWorldYTClol the ice age was hundreds of thousands of years ago, not 10,000. We've come so far in so short. Rome was only 2,500 years ago. Important to note we never got more intelligent, just gained more knowledge. Imagine where we'd be if the library of Alexandria wasn't burnt down
Yeah… we survived whatever killled off the megafauna because we killed off the megafauna. It’s a widely accepted theory that the disappearance of megafauna in North America coincides with human arrival on the continent.
But, happily, weeds rarely grow when the crops are big. The bigger crops shade out the weeds and very few will grow. The laser weeding is the best thing to come out for agriculture in decades.
Oh I get it, this zaps them when they're just seedlings, with a beam spread of an inch or so at ground level. Once they've grown bigger it's too late and they become impractical to zap. Must be some super high res cameras and heavy cpu power running AI. But timing makes things easier since once the crop is well past seedling size, all the tiny stuff is surely weeds.
I just saw a robot that squirts herbicide to reduce the use of poison and that made me think of where I have seen a laser robot. Because surely a laser is better than poison. And then you post this video of the laser weed killer. But wasn't it tested as a bug killer as well?
I wonder if this technology can be turned against aphids and other insect pests? If so, there'd also be a massive market for killing bedbugs (an easy kill), as well as flies, mosquitos, et al.; you wouldn't even have to worry about the power source, no batteries or diesel, just plug the bug zapper into the wall.
If these are high value crops then land use is not much of an issue. If not then I'm sure we'll see a solution with booms soon. They might have to drive slower but would cover the same area in the same time
Yeah this is a much better idea than growing indoors...🙄 The lengths we'll go to develop the dumbest ideas never cease to amaze me. Weeds... ffs spare me.
And you're an idiot. Lookup for data on how many acres are farmed... now imagine we have to build structures to house all that (costs), water via reservoirs, pumps, pipes, etc (costs), harvest in an entirely new manner (costs)... Please stay away from important decisions in your life.
Great idea but the magnetic field of Earth is weakening and the poles are moving. These events will wipe out gps and there will be no automatic guidance.
I re-uploaded this video, as i had uploaded a wrong video using this thumbnail, this is the correct video.

Everything is better with laser. But does it go “pew pew pew”?
Wait till Skynet finds out about this!

If only we could get the government out of the way.

@@christopherbernhardt google search result "The Ice Ages began 2.4 million years ago and lasted until 11,500 years ago."

This can only work when the crops are young and small. When the crops get bigger and get more leafy, laser can not reach the weeds under the crops.
But, happily, weeds rarely grow when the crops are big. The bigger crops shade out the weeds and very few will grow.
The laser weeding is the best thing to come out for agriculture in decades.
2:03 looks like a war scene. Weed killer laser robots today to laser satellites that kill whatever. 🤣😬
So, could a tech like this be used to kill insect pests without pesticides?
I would think so, it may need to be smart enough to adjust power if targeting insects on the plant itself

Careful ... today it's weeds, ....tomorrow it'll be humans
Does this destroy the roots too? Or just the part above the surface.
Machines like this mostly only kill weeds above the ground

no sure on the laser big killer, but i'm sure it could be done
For the damn mosquitoes it's a MUST!!!
This is not fair!
100,000 Weeds Per Hour at the cost of 100,000 Watts Per Hour?
Diesel generator, cost effective way of power generation
Nice it's the right video this time. I was so confused last time I don't even remember what the other video was about
Great until the Robot demands it's human rights and 40 hour work week and vacation time 😁
This is potentially very, very good. Cost comparison? Plans to hit an economy of scale? Make it happen! Fewer pesticides, win win, win.
It will start fires for sure.
No not enough heat and easy to mount moisture spray unit
why not use a lazer from space?

And its happening next week.
The wheel tracks must take up 15-20% of the land. Smaller robots travelling above the ground on wires would be better.
Get to work!
You clearly know nothing about farming, strengths of materials, costs, etc.

I bet, this will be cost small fortune.
Doubt it.
The technology is shockingly easy
Like a car 100 years ago😊
Bonjour 👋 est-ce-que les lasers peuvent aussi tuer les insectes ravageur sans abîmé les cultures ? Merci ++
Great technology 👏
This is how they start forest fires from space
Super
We need to stop eating so much! Humans are too fat!
Weeds to day people tomorrow
Amazing...
우와 이제는 농약없이 농사안짓겠네 저런시대가와야지 ㅋㅋㅋ
fascinating

Yes. It will be Carrington Event 2.0.
Are you postulating all GPS satellite 🛰 failure?
It's true my D has slowly started to point south instead of north. The magnetic field is causing more GForce on my D to change.
I fail to see how changing magnetic fields could kill a network of satellites in orbit, do you have any evidence or reasoning behind this?
Bro What’s the source?
