She is such a good little mare. Not spooky or defensive. She's just a thinker, she's processing everything that's happening to and around her. Whoever gets her will have an amazing horse.
Like everyone else, I am BLOWN AWAY that this is "Kid's" fourth day of training. I know you've said she's an exceptionally calm Mustang, but it must be your training and experience too. I can't believe how well she handles everything -- with just the occasional head toss and back up. And, your instruction is so good too. It makes it so clear for future trainers to watch you, e.g. hold the halter, tap with stick, turn head, so her feet can follow her head. It is beautiful to watch. And I don't know anything about ponying either, but both you and Lynx did an amazing job and it is such a smart and safer way to get you up above them while being a little bit of "safe" distance away. I just loved this session. It was like watching a master class in Mustang training. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Goodness I can’t wait to see where this mare goes. Saddled up only on day four 96 to go! To think that this mare was three strike is so heart wrenching seeing how far she’s come in under a week, but I know Sam will find her an amazingly loving home ❤️
Misty Mane no, but the more flashy colored mustangs are usually adopted first, trainers want them cause they will have apeal in the final auction after the makeover and some people just want the pretty ones. I’m guessing she’s three strike because she’s just a plain bay because I don’t see anything wrong with her gaits, confirmation, or personality that’s just my guess. 🙂❤️
Yeah! She’s very sweet but definitely will still only have 100-120 days of training on her. She would be a great family horse but still will need training and someone confident
What impresses me is how you constantly challenge and pressure her without doing anything to damage her trust in you. It would be easy to err on either side. You don't.
This mare is really amazing... I cant believe how well she handles everything. You are doing a really great job, I have learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you 😁
You can almost see the wheels in her head turning. You are an amazing trainer ! I don’t know much about ponying either but it looked good to me and what you were saying made sense. Lynx is such a patient horse!
I know NOTHING about horses and training them, but Im finding these vids fascinating and relaxing. Sam, your skill and gentle energy really seems to put the horses at ease, and this little Mustang seems to be really exceptional. Aside from being a little lazy she seems quick to learn, intuitive, and eager to please. Is she an exceptional horse, or is it just that you are so skilled that is making it look so easy?
Couldn"t agree more. If you compare this series of videos with her early ones, it is impressive to see how much more skilled and knowledgeable she is. A pleasure to watch a professional in action.
Ponying is such an amazing tool. Although I've never worked with a wild one, I start ponying with even my weanlings. They learn a lot from the broke horse.
This is the sweetest mare ever! This might be the calmest wild horse I have ever seen! Putting a saddle and saddle pad on her only on day 4 , I am impressed with her.
You have an awesome idea about trying a live premiere video, it will work as long as everyone sticks to what you are about. Training and helping people connect with there horse, you always make a really nice video session. Im never bored with your training awesome work.
In my experience, ponying them is just about the best thing you can do when starting a young horse. It's pretty amazing that she trusts you so much already. You did good with her in this video, I didn't see anything that I would have done different. My young guy was ponied for miles and miles on the trails before anyone ever climbed on his back and it made so much difference with his attitude under saddle.
My cousins take their young horses along whenever there is room, so they get ponied on pack trips with a light saddle, hang out in the corral when cows are being chased around. They see a lot of activity and see the other horses being calm, so they stay calm too.
what a wonderful little mare! You are doing amazing with her as well, whoever ends up with her is a very lucky person, she will be an absolutely amazing horse.
Sam, I bet you could get on her on day 5 or 6, with no problem from her. You & her are great together, come show time at the makeover, you 2 will be awesome. 👍
Seeing out of each eye is very important.....great idea to do your motions from a top a pony horse! She has truly improved about crowding you... showing respect for your space but without fear. Her reactions are good...some she jumped but also trusted you to approach!
I am learning to pony off my senior with the 2 year old BLM colt I got from the KY EMM. I would love more videos with ponying and how you address different challenges. It is way harder than it looks!
Day 4 with a saddle on is great. And you have built a relationship with the new mare already where she trusts you, usually. So things are going very well, imho.
What a fantastic little mare you got! It’s really interesting to watch and I get a lot of ideas to use on my new training horse, a 4yr old gelding, Swedish warmblood. He is almost 1.80 on withers, using his size to scare humans and even bit a couple of people. He had a halter on last summer, that’s all he was handled. But as I suspected, he was really a little brat that needed something to do and think on. I have had a halter on 5 times, leading him around the pasture, brushing him all over standing still, yelding hindquarters and he’s really great. I plan to take him home to my barn tomorrow so I can work with him every day, right now he’s at the old man that owned him, so step one is to get him on a trailer.
I’m so impressed by your training I wish I owned horses but love watching you so young and very knowledgeable and kind to your horses your train your so blessed at this stuff tc and be well your rock at training
Such a lovely mare! I wish I was in the position to get a horse in the near future but alas that is not to be. I am sure she will go to a lovely home and whoever gets her will be a very lucky person!
Is it me or is she more sensitive on one side than the other? Love her attitude. How fun for you to be challenged with this little mare who seems to be a sponge and soaking up everything you ask of her.
You don't have to dally to pony. That's a good idea to use Lynx to do round pen work. It's a good thing to pony outside with them too. You look like you've done it forever.
Nice job. She seems to be a great mare. I hope you do well with her. I look forward to seeing move videos as you train her. Thank You for sharing. God Bless
This is definitely a help to me as a first time trainer . I have a 1yr. Old Sorrel Mustang . Little Girl Skye, who is not so little anymore ,‼️ lol. She is not BLM, she come from Chili Pepper Rescue, then on to Utah to Wild Hearts Rescue in Hooper, Ut. I've had to "Learn that Attitude" when in the round pen, but she's learning . We both are. Thank You for your amazing videos and training. ‼️
Good job for everybody on day 4 if you ask me. I like how you introduced the saddle and pad to her. Are you going to be using a western saddle as well? I'm looking forward to seeing day 5
She typically teaches horses to go under English or western tack because she doesn't know where these horses will end up or what style of riding their new owners will want to do.
she really needs a name so i have some ideas i was saving these for my mustang i’m picking up in two weeks but who cares if you use one it will eliminate one off my list and make is easier for me :) I think maybe... Azelia, Coral or Tally
I know you have a special mare there, but trainer is in no way a slouch!!!!!!!!!! never trained a horse but trained gun dogs wazoo and you young lady have a special talent
I'm trying to train my dog to walk beside me and I know exercise is one of the things that is really important but that seems to be the only thing that people can tell me. What is something else?
Hard to believe at just day 4 she can have a saddle on with pretty much no reaction to it. She almost had a disinterested attitude about it. Lol And Lynx is so cute and chill. They both did well here.
Sam I enjoyed watching this video as well and seeing this little mare progress. Lynx is an awesome horse but do you notice how about two thirds of the way through this video, where he is licking and chewing and yawning? It seems like he is assisting this little mare with clearing her energy so that she relaxes more...between you as a rider and Lynx as a horse, both of you very skilled...it seems like this little bay mare couldn’t ask for a better duo to bring her along....Will wait for day 5 of training :). Thanks for sharing this journey.
Every time you bring home a new horse RUclips suggests you to me again, this time I finally subscribed, I might as well enjoy ALL of the updates as you post them lol If your previous results are any indication, this little mare is going to be practically bullet proof when you get done with her, I can't wait to see the final day with her, you're going to make someone the very lucky owner of a really awesome horse.
She is such a good little mare. Not spooky or defensive. She's just a thinker, she's processing everything that's happening to and around her. Whoever gets her will have an amazing horse.
Mustangs definitely are thinkers especially after what they learned .
She looks really good with the saddle on. Lynx walked up to her like "Let me show you how it's done, kid"
Day four and the girl already got a saddle. Really can’t wait to see where this goes
Like everyone else, I am BLOWN AWAY that this is "Kid's" fourth day of training. I know you've said she's an exceptionally calm Mustang, but it must be your training and experience too. Awe thank you!
Do I have a horse? No, Do I want a horse? Nope. Did I search for this? Nope. Did youtube recommend this to me and now I love these horse videos? Yep!
I sure wish I was in the market for a horse, she's so sweet and easy going. I can't wait to see her after 90 days with you!💖
Nicole Right? I don’t exactly NEED another horse, but she seems like a great trail girl for our family!
25.00 from BLM, you can bid Ang go get your horse. I promise you won't regret it.
Her: You can do whatever you want as long as I get scritches and snuggles for it
Goodness I can’t wait to see where this mare goes. Saddled up only on day four 96 to go! To think that this mare was three strike is so heart wrenching seeing how far she’s come in under a week, but I know Sam will find her an amazingly loving home ❤️
Did she say why she was a three strike? I don’t understand why...
This horse needs to be a family horse.... I think she is such a caretaker
she's still gonna be in the green phase tho so I'd be careful with what family she goes with.
Yeah! She’s very sweet but definitely will still only have 100-120 days of training on her. She would be a great family horse but still will need training and someone confident
Sam VanFleet she's gonna be an amazing mate though! She's going to make someone very happy!
LularoLife yea i know, i just mean she’s got the mind that in a few years she’ll be the horse 3 kids climb on and ride around bareback in the yard

Thank you!
The horse feels her positive energy and love ❤️
Wow. She's going to make someone a very nice, calm, level-headed little mare. I'm so surprised, at only four days!
I’m so fascinated with your talent of training horses.
Thank you! ❤️
Another fantastic example of gentling a Mustang. Not sloppy at all with the ponying! 👍👍👍
This mare is really amazing... I cant believe how well she handles everything.
You are doing a really great job, I have learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you 😁
Thank you!
I have been following four horses from this makeover, i honestly feel like you've got the nicest mare.
She has a good brain!
I'd love her. She's so affectionate, calm and clever. Yes, she's the type of personality i like. She's adorable.
You can almost see the wheels in her head turning. You are an amazing trainer ! I don’t know much about ponying either but it looked good to me and what you were saying made sense. Lynx is such a patient horse!
She's such a good little mare! And Lynx was a star as always. I enjoyed seeing the ponying, thanks for including it!
Yeah we can try the live videos and I also can't wait to see how much she improves LIKE IF YOU AGREE.
Loved the session. Learning is messy, embrace the messy ... so glad you shared you learning experience ponying .... good job!
im so excited for this series!!
Thank you for taking your valuable time and showing this transformation to us, it is much appreciated.
I know NOTHING about horses and training them, but Im finding these vids fascinating and relaxing. I love all of your videos. It’s amazing how fast these mustangs progress in their training with you.
Glad you left the ponying in. Nice to see you progress in your skills as a trainer.
Couldn"t agree more. If you compare this series of videos with her early ones, it is impressive to see how much more skilled and knowledgeable she is. A pleasure to watch a professional in action.

Omg! Within minutes of your video you have shown me crucial aspects of this training. Many thanks
You have an awesome idea about trying a live premiere video, it will work as long as everyone sticks to what you are about. Training and helping people connect with there horse, you always make a really nice video session. Im never bored with your training awesome work.
Holy mackerel Sam! This is remarkable, truly remarkable. Your mind must be racing thinking about all the magic to come. 😀🇺🇸
Thanks!
I really like her. I just feel like she’s special. You’re doing so good Sam!
Thanks!

Absolutely amazing that she’s under saddle on day four.
Still pretty sure I need this future grandma horse in my life.
Wow! Only day 4 and she already has a saddle on! I can’t wait to see where she goes
Thank you so much for these videos, Sam! They’re very helpful as well as fun to watch your progress with her 🐴💓
Lynx is awesome! Also, this mare learns things so quickly! You're doing an amazing job with all of them ❤️
I love this little mare! As always, you are working wonders!👏🏻
Wow! No wig out or buck for a saddle first time off the range. Impressive. What a good girl and you do such an amazing job with these horses!
what a wonderful little mare! You are doing amazing with her as well, whoever ends up with her is a very lucky person, she will be an absolutely amazing horse.
She’s amazing! Great horse!
Great video Sam. What a great mare, so willing, so smart pretty dam calm considering. can’t wait to continue watching the progression & growth 👍
Sam, I bet you could get on her on day 5 or 6, with no problem from her. You & her are great together, come show time at the makeover, you 2 will be awesome. 👍
She’s such a cutie! Temperament and looks!
Thank You! Sam! ❤
Love to watch you work. You are great at what you do. Keep em coming. ✌
She's such a sweetie you wouldn't know she's a wild mustang....
Lucky person who ends up with her 💕
I love your way to work with them. Love from Belgium
Love your work. In my limited experience, I would say she's gonna be a great pony. Even for a young person.
Seeing out of each eye is very important.....great idea to do your motions from a top a pony horse! She has truly improved about crowding you... showing respect for your space but without fear. Her reactions are good...some she jumped but also trusted you to approach!
Great video! She is amazing. You will have lots of fun with the progression for sure!

She's amazing, so calm and chill. Great horse.
I really like her confirmation. I can't wait to see where you guys go!
What a good session.
Awesome! I love watching this. I learn so much about the simplest things in your videos!
What a fantastic little mare you got! It’s really interesting to watch and I get a lot of ideas to use on my new training horse, a 4yr old gelding, Swedish warmblood.

So much patience you go wow ✨✨✨
I’m so impressed by your training I wish I owned horses but love watching you so young and very knowledgeable and kind to your horses your train your so blessed at this stuff tc and be well your rock at training
Wonderful! Good job! ALL three of you. 😊💜🐴
I’m in love with this mare.
Your training is so inspiring! I haven't been able to ride in a very long time but your videos make me miss it so much. What a wonderful mustang.
Amazingly fast progress and you are being very patient. It is exciting to watch her improvement. You are a very loving and compassionate trainer.
Such a lovely mare! I wish I was in the position to get a horse in the near future but alas that is not to be. I am sure she will go to a lovely home and whoever gets her will be a very lucky person!
she seems to be very willing. Not spooky at all, the background noise is not too distracting to her.
Is it me or is she more sensitive on one side than the other? Love her attitude. How fun for you to be challenged with this little mare who seems to be a sponge and soaking up everything you ask of her.
Yes she is! Horses usually have a more difficult side and an easier side at the start of training, especially mustangs!
Ahhhh I love your videos more and more everyday
You don't have to dally to pony. That's a good idea to use Lynx to do round pen work. It's a good thing to pony outside with them too. You look like you've done it forever.

I watched like 6 times to figure out how your belly rope works. I'm definitely going to make one now. That's a smart design.
Excellent job : you & Lynx did great! That new mare is coming along very nicely!
Thanks!
NICE JOB SAM!!!!!
I'm digging this video series. Very interesting process. See you tomorrow.
Wow! You're both amazing! I would love to do a live premiere!
I think we need to name this sweet little mare. She is such dolly!!
Great job!
Could you do a story time about how you got Lynx and why you decided to keep him? I love following along on your journey with these mustangs😁
She is unbelievable Sam! Kinda want to go down and pick one up too! What a good girl
Thank you for your educational video! Enjoy watching your videos
she really needs a name so i have some ideas i was saving these for my mustang i’m picking up in two weeks but who cares if you use one it will eliminate one off my list and make is easier for me :) I think maybe... Azelia, Coral or Tally
I think that Azelia is a super pretty name (all of them are super good though)!! Good luck with your mustang!
Ratsy - thank you!
The Mare (I’m hoping Named Pandora) looks very nice with that English tack!!
if any regular person were to walk by while she was doing this they would have no clue a wild horse was in their with her XD
Lovely!!
I know you have a special mare there, but trainer is in no way a slouch!!!!!!!!!! never trained a horse but trained gun dogs wazoo and you young lady have a special talent

If this is the first time ; then you are a miracle worker ???
I usually read the descriptions lol and yes, I would love to do the live premieres! Could you do live videos too??? That would be awesome!
Fantastic job!! 🤠

She’s to be sold at the Makeover.
@@fleetskipper1810 Sadly I'm in no position to have a horse at present, otherwise I'd already be bugging her about adopting/buying lol
Thank you for subscribing!
You are a very great trainer I saw you today at Hoofprints while i was in a lesson! Your mare is coming along very good😁
Thanks!
Great video 😍❤️💚
You inspire me keep up the good work. edit: name ideas coral, pepper ,Cheyenne ,easy
More name ideas: Horse or Hey You or Four Legs (didn't say I was good at coming up with names...).
What kind of whip/stick do you use? I love the sound it makes hitting the ground
