What’s up everyone! My brother and I have been really happy with the Grand Marquis. Even though it's not a fastest or luxurious car, it's been a reliable vehicle. 💯 It doesn't need much maintenance and has treating us very well. Thanks for watching !
I am a proud owner of a 2008 GMM I had 60 thousand dollar jeeps, trucks, I currently own a 2016 Chevy Malibu. This GMM beats any new car all day. I love my boat it floats and I am safe in it.
I have a Immaculate 2008 Grand LS , and you stated it's not FAST LMAO! as you know 4.6 eats most cars on the Highway I can. Also burns the tires off at take off if i wanted. Even 2023 cars SUV has Tried , and look look at them in the Mirrors LOL
Im a 20 year old who wants one because I think an old armored couch with a v8 strapped to it and rear wheel drive is awesome! I like the look of the grand marquis too
I currently own a ‘03 MGM LS. Bought it with 48k and now have 60k in 14 months. Love these cars. Search and find one owned by a one owner elderly person. Their generation really took care of these cars. God bless them. You won’t regret owning one of these perfect cars! Btw..I added KYB shocks and struts along with Moog sway bars. Highly recommend do that when you get one. Rides perfectly with no body roll at all.
I'm not a grandpa. I'm a 60 plus uncle who drives a 2005 Grand Marquis LS Premium. It's has almost every option. Including five passenger leather seating with center console and floor shifter and a power factory moonroof. No digital instrument cluster. It has a factory dual exhaust version of the 4.6L Modular overhead cam V8 239hp at 287 pound feet of torque. The only modification I want to do is install Flowmaster FX mufflers, cat back, with resonators and 4 inch Marauder tips out the back. She's going to sound sweet. States like South Carolina allows modified exhaust systems as long as they're not too loud. Although some vehicles are quite loud. It out lived my Dad. Probably going to outlive me. Take good care of a Panther Platform Ford and they will literally run forever. Oh, I usually run the Interstate at 75mph. Middle lane, all the way.
One of the last Panther platform Ford's made. The Grand Marquis was marketed more towards the older crowd but there is no doubt it was a well loved and made car.
I just got 2007 Grand Marquis 120k Miles, I put new tires and changed highlight to LED and I love this car. I plan on putting remote start and back camera with apple car play later and this car be set for all kind of adventure!
I now have my fathers 2004 Grand Marquis . Like new. Only 89k Garage kept. Engine taken care of extremely well . I absolutely love driving it. Although its a bit difficult when trying to park and judging. Lol
Hey Jesse, wanted to super thank you for all the work you do! My 2003 MGM Ultimate is my first car, and I’ve been able to do a bunch of work on it thanks to your videos. Still have some stuff to do - replace the driver door actuator (because it isn’t locking the door on the key fob nor the door lock), and the multi-function switch (my windshield wipers + wiper fluid randomly turn on and off, now they just straight up dont work). Another problem I’ve been having is my digidash, clock and radio will start clicking, dimming, and turning off and on. My headlights are working fine tho. I’m trying to look online for some help and they say it might be the LCM or the alternator? Can’t find anything concrete. What do you think? Any kind of help would be appreciated man, and if I got anything wrong on what I should fix please let me know. Keep making banger and hilarious content compa 🤙 Big ups from a fellow paisa
Just found out my steering wheel controls don’t work either (no working cruise control, radio volume, ac fan/temp, or horn), which is a first. High beams only work when I pull the switch towards me. Brakes, headlights, turn signals, and emergency lights work though. Went to O’Reilly’s and they tested my alternator and said it was good. My battery is pretty new and I got that tested a few months ago when these problems first started, so I don’t think its that either. Cant make heads or tails out of this. Help porfas 😭
Thanks for the support Sebastian! It sounds like you're having some electrical problems with your Grand Marquis. While it's difficult to say FOR SURE what's going on with your car, the symptoms you're mentioned could be related to a faulty LCM (light control module) Or alternator But You already got the alternator tested so that can't be. The LCM is responsible for controlling multiple electrical components including the dash lights and radio. clicking, dimming, from the dash is a sign of a bad LCM Or weak alternator. I'd suggest replacing the LCM I have a video on that too on my "Grand Marquis" Playlist. Also join a few Grand Marquis Facebook groups and share what's going on with your car. So you can get multiple opinions from other grand marquis enthusiast. There might be someone that has gone to the same issue and resolved it. Last thing to do (hope it doesn't get to this cus I know it can be expensive) would be taking your car to an automotive electrical specialist for them to recommend the necessary repairs. I appreciate your "super Thanks" my brother thanks for the support. I wish you the best with these repair. *Fist bump from your friendly RUclipsr homie mechanic 🖤
I'm having similar issues, electrical, keep blowing the same fuse, digital dash always acting up say I'm going 0 mph on a regular basis. Auto lamps not working, red flasher light goes on every time I put on my turn signals, interior dome light doesn't go on when I open the door, no rear defrost, smh. Did u figure yours out? Any good FB MGM groups? Love the panther platform, this is my 3rd one. Great depen dable, comfortable cars !
I LOVE this car. This is my first car. I’m 20, and I love my sweet grandma car. We painted mine pink and it’s a perfect car for taking me to school and work. Big, smooth, and shiny. I’m hoping if I take car of this car, it’ll last me a good while
I have always owned a Mercury Grand Marquis LS since 1998 and still do.. Drove on average 30,000 miles a year, traded them in at 230,000 miles still running. Always bought them from Hertz Rental car at one year old, 12,000 to 14,000 miles, and low Blue Book.. Current one is 1999 with 84, 000 miles.
Great video I just picked up a 2010 original owner Grand Marquis ls in dark burgundy these cars were built to last other than a few quirks that I’m ironing out as I type this it’s gonna be a great car. Great Channel and great content.
Got a 02 same color leather inside .. clean 2 rust spots I got fixed and only 104 k on the dash had 8 months now it's at 110k and I just rebuilt the front and back suspension !! Sitting up high never realized how low I was sitting apparently needed the rebuild ..
I bought my 2003 Grand Marquis LS 2 years ago now. But with the price of gas being so high I've been considering selling it off for an econobox. But even then sellers aren't trustworthy plus some of the newer cars aren't as reliable as my car. So I've come up with a roadmap for improving my car: brakes, tires, and darker and newer window tint. If I were to buy a new car today I'll miss the V8 it has.
Great video buddy. I have an 06 CVPI 245k and runs great. Glad you set the net straight on gas mileage. It's not good. I have the 3.27 diff and am around 16 in town and 20 at best on the highway. "Son, daughter, it or whatever the eff you wanna call yourself" that's classic keep making video's please!!!!!!!!!
Yo this video is perfect I bought one for my 17th birthday My first car and I know your supposed to change fluids and stuff when you get a new car but this is great tells me everything I should replace and service.
Nice video. I've owned three of these. First a silver '05 Ultimate Edition, one-owner, meticulous ally maintained, 278,000 miles, cloth interior, digital dash, no kids, smoke or pets. The tranny went out after only owning it a month and six days. Had to drive it 25 mph in REVERSE two miles back to the house to avoid a tow truck! Then a silver '03 Ultimate Edition with 225,000 and leather. Kids messed up the interior, but switched all the seats except driver seat from the '05. '03 has a factory clock in the dash panel and a silver V8 on the engine cover. Smelled the tranny fluid after owning it a few weeks and decided to sell it. Then found a white '04 with only 135,000 miles. Tan leather, no digital dash, and thankfully, no air suspension. Very happy with it. Change oil every 3000 with Lucas oil stabilizer. It'll turn 141,000 in a couple days. Peace out.
I had an '09 Crown Vic P71, loved that thing to death, but sold it a month or so ago so I could get something else, and I already miss the heck out of it. Was such a nice driving car, and the sound of the V8 always put a smile on my face. If I were to ever buy another modern-ish car, it more than likely would be another Ford Panther car
I live in the uk and our roads are terrible but I don’t want an suv. So maybe I’ll import one of these soon. The ride comfort and space make it seem worthwhile.
Jessie. You need to do a video on replacing the valve cover gaskets. There's vids doing this to the Crown Vic but not the Grand Marquis. Think about it 😊
Rocking with my ultimate Edition almost 4 years strong . Idk about a 90s Toyota gapping this car I race my friend runs 2021 Hyundai Elantra I won these cars aren't as slow some say. You're right when its time to change the spark plugs the car does shake. 4:22 some changes it to springs but the air bags keep it leveled even when there's something really heavy from what I heard & saw
Great video, would love to see more merc content. I bought an 04 GS from an elderly fella who used to work for FORD. He took good care of it, had 80k miles on the odometer (now has 94k) and he sold it to me for only $3,000!!. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles as an LS but I still feel lucky to have one, many consider the 2003-2004 years to be the best. Only bad thing is the paint on the rear pillars is flaking off, I am currently saving for a paint job.
Steel is from China, not sure if you have a garage but it will soon be rusting over the wheels and I have chunk's of the metal falling off! Different than the US steel ❤
There’s a few things worth mentioning about these old tanks . Most P71 police interceptors are a bargain basement crown Vic with very few interior nices, they’re cloth or vinyl seats on vinyl floors cause they were intended to be hosed out. Most P71s have lived very hard lives basically running 24/7 365 so they’re kind of worn out. The performance myth keeps going but no they weren’t that fast even in police guise. At best they had 250 horsepower to move nearly 5,000 pounds, they were built for durability and longevity. Around 2000ish to 03ish I think ford started using mustang cylinder heads on the 4.6 across the range which is when the power jumped to around 220 to 240 on the single exhaust civilian cars. The space is there to fit a dual exhaust system as well which will certainly help with power. The Grand Marquis is the better buy these days as many of the last cars built in 2010 and 2011 are still available having been owned by elderly people or their kids. 100,000 miles is nothing to these big fords as drivetrains are very understressed. They don’t rev very high or run very hard which contributes to the longevity. As several police fleets still use them parts are still readily accessible too. Properly undercoated with around 50 to 100k and one should last you a decade or more easily. The best thing you’ll get here is no car payments. I would say that the next year and a half will be the time to buy. You’ll still have a chance at finding a low mileage example. It might be 20 years old but it will run and if you take care of it for quite a while
I own a 2008 Grand Marquis Palm Beach Edition and I love it. My first panthers platform car. I got it with 93,000 miles now it has 110,000. Only had to replace a few parts but nothing major. Trying to do some more preventative maintenance. Any tips and advice ?
Bro you’re hilarious, keep that a$$ warm! 😂 i can’t decide which panther to get only got space for one was thinking LTC crown Vic or this. But this video got me thinking not a bad choice. Love to see diy fixes for these panther cars. Just subscribed
@@Mrnormalsense The Crown Victoria LTD looks hella clean ! I like that body style and would definitely be torquier and so much more fun to drive with that 5.0 engine! but the Grand Marquis is super reliable and easy to work on. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a Panther.
Hah, these were pretty famous even in the Gulf, fuel was very inexpensive here, so everyone used to keep these around. I can get one used (probably heavily replaced parts with cheap aftermarkets) for around 2.5K USD. Which is not very bad for a car like this, if it wasn't for the fuel I don't see any problems. I wonder if we can add a CNG kit to this
@@ibiro868 Yep! KSA had a lot of it, others kept only little. UAE Arabs I guess decommissioned these fast. Most of these Mercury's are U.S imports which I see in the road, they aren't GCC spec. But eh.
Can you remove the chrome strip on the door panels and leave the painted part of the door protection molding as most have the plastic chrome cracks and deteriorates but the rest of the molding that's painted the color of the car is fine. Can I just pull the plastic stuff off and leave the painted molding or do you have to do it the two separate pieces because the prom plastic molding that there is pretty much the same stop the timer corners on the Packers
My '00 LS needs work on the body and the interior. Other than that, I'm doing a few mods to improve the drivetrain and suspension (ADTR, CHE Performance, Moog and Trick Flow are my main sources - no cheap parts) to match my desires... God willing, I'll never have to replace my Red Recliner. 150K and smoother than butter.
Jessie, I have an 06 and it rides great. It only has 62400 original miles on this baby. But there's some things showing it's age. The wood trim insert on all 4 doors fell off... Just fell off! They're in perfect visual condition but the sun most have dried the plastic out and within 1 month they all just cracked and fell out😮😢 2 of the panels i was able to glue back together but the other 2 need complete replacing The valve cover gaskets need changing. Need a video on this job.... Just changed the plugs but engine still isn't running smooth like it did. I guess the ignition coils need changing too. The rear passenger side window will only go down halfway???? What do you think about that issue??? Both the battery and brake indication light go on but the brake isn't engaged and the battery is new???? HELP 😮 And last (and most expensive) the AC actuator switch went about 2 months.. Just get that thumping sound inside the dash. No AC. I live in South Florida. Gotta have AC. Need some pointers on replacing that thing,! Very expensive fix.😢
This was my first car. One Christmas, it was raining, so I decided to drift, and I slammed into a median, skidded over it, and drove away with the car being fine. I'm certain if it was an import it would have been totaled. They really don't make cars like these anymore.
It's a problem with these cars and I replaced the intact and manifold found a good mechanic that didn't try and take advantage of me, some years had a recall, mine might have but my Father had a stroke and he didn't pay attention, as soon as we figure out how to fix the AC I'll be perfect ❤
@@me4654 Take the unit a part and change the Vacuum Rubber little seal Rings on each Vacuum tubes inside the unit . Just RUclips it. better than paying a arm and leg for one.
these car run forever If you buy one, this would probably be the only car that you would need during your life time, don't sell it, don't trade it in keep it forever, the parts are available, the parts are cheap and most independents repair shop can fix them easy even the engine are cheap.
What’s going on bro I’m from the Bay Area as well I was thinking about getting into the panther community was wondering what mileage do you recommend buying these cars at ?
I have 0 AC it's a actuator behind the glove box and I think the dashboard has to come off, it's a 99 Mercury Marquis LS does anyone know what part I need apparently there's different actuators & the heat works but you can't adjust the temperature, does this part show up on a computer? Junkyard is going to do it but their insisting that it's gotta be a leak somewhere? My Mother and Father gave it to me 2017 it's got a new compressor & his guy said it was a 700$ job? Any help 🙏 appreciated I'm absolutely nauseated today it's 114 in Illinois 😭
You have NO AC ? I have a 2008 LS and the AC is out, but seen a RUclips video that shows how to change the Rubber little Vacuum Rings inside the AC unit where you would change to defrost, floor, etc. Mine is stuck on defrost only, because those Vacuum rings for each Vacuum tubes inside that unit wears out.
Yea comon with it being a older car the parts will wear out so you will have to replace them i would say if you have already replaced alot of them just keep it since u wont have to deal with that replaced part going out again
@@rxmarlo2303 yeah I had the car for 3 years now n it's my first car I really didn't have to do much to it but all the problems just hitting me at once but that's a good way of putting I might just keep it since I putting so much into it

It might be 20 years old but it will run and if you take care of it for quite a while
Just Subbed...love the Grand Marquis content
I own a 2008 Grand Marquis Palm Beach Edition and I love it. My first panthers platform car. I got it with 93,000 miles now it has 110,000. Only had to replace a few parts but nothing major. Trying to do some more preventative maintenance. Any tips and advice ?
Bro you’re hilarious, keep that a$$ warm! 😂 i can’t decide which panther to get only got space for one was thinking LTC crown Vic or this. But this video got me thinking not a bad choice. Love to see diy fixes for these panther cars.

I wonder if we can add a CNG kit to this
I saw these everywhere in Saudi
@@ibiro868 Yep! KSA had a lot of it, others kept only little. UAE Arabs I guess decommissioned these fast. Most of these Mercury's are U.S imports which I see in the road, they aren't GCC spec. But eh.
Haha, your videos are great. I need to keep my eye out for a \Marquis, now
Can you remove the chrome strip on the door panels and leave the painted part of the door protection molding as most have the plastic chrome cracks and deteriorates but the rest of the molding that's painted the color of the car is fine.
I have an 08' bought her with 76k miles 2 years ago she has 111,000 miles now... no real major issues.
Jessie, I have an 06 and it rides great. It only has 62400 original miles on this baby. But there's some things showing it's age. The wood trim insert on all 4 doors fell off... Just fell off! They're in perfect visual condition but the sun most have dried the plastic out and within 1 month they all just cracked and fell out😮😢 2 of the panels i was able to glue back together but the other 2 need complete replacing
The valve cover gaskets need changing.
HELP 😮
And last (and most expensive) the AC actuator switch went about 2 months.. Just get that thumping sound inside the dash. No AC. I live in South Florida. Gotta have AC.
Need some pointers on replacing that thing,! Very expensive fix.😢
04 GS has been the best car I’ve ever owned.
just got one. have 2 now
10/10 commentary
Finally picked one up
I have one..amazingly reliable
My 03 grand Marquis will get 23 MPG at 80 MPH according to the MPG computer in the car and the meter math.
What color is this interior? I want to order a new armrest for mine? Thank you!!!
This was my first car. One Christmas, it was raining, so I decided to drift, and I slammed into a median, skidded over it, and drove away with the car being fine. I'm certain if it was an import it would have been totaled. They really don't make cars like these anymore.
Where did you get your manifold from and what brand?
It's a problem with these cars and I replaced the intact and manifold found a good mechanic that didn't try and take advantage of me, some years had a recall, mine might have but my Father had a stroke and he didn't pay attention, as soon as we figure out how to fix the AC I'll be perfect ❤
@@me4654 Take the unit a part and change the Vacuum Rubber little seal Rings on each Vacuum tubes inside the unit . Just RUclips it. better than paying a arm and leg for one.
Yo brah, what radio are you rocking? And do you have a video on installment?
I have bad issue on one of these voltage drop on grand marquis 2001 new alternator and new battery like the same😓
Where are you located. I have an 03 Marquis. Might need some work.
The way he was promoting the car😭😭
how hard is it to replace the suspension? i have a 2011 mgm with air sus. I love it but its probably almost time to replace them
these car run forever If you buy one, this would probably be the only car that you would need during your life time, don't sell it, don't trade it in keep it forever, the parts are available, the parts are cheap and most independents repair shop can fix them easy even the engine are cheap.
Bye that’s so my dad 😂😂😂
What brand coils are you using?
Typical,you never respond.
The hell with your channel
I worry about the airbags on my Marauder everyday 😅
What’s going on bro I’m from the Bay Area as well I was thinking about getting into the panther community was wondering what mileage do you recommend buying these cars at ?
I think 2003 and up came with rack and pin on steering.
great car!!!
just how you explain . i have a 2006 and it run just like you explain good video can't go wrong with a 100grand ask marquis lol
You are correct in English the "S"s silent. In Spanish it is pronounced with the "S" regardless it is a beautiful car
That Grandpa joke will be funnier in 40 years,...if you make it.
No guarantees 😂
I just bought my sister an 05 grand marquis with 132k miles for 500 bucks today
I'm about to buy one with 131k miles
I have that car
Look, the GM may not be the quickest, but who needs to be quick when the car is as comfortable as a fucking sofa?!
I was just thinking about selling mines it runs good but it's a new problem with it every week
Yea comon with it being a older car the parts will wear out so you will have to replace them i would say if you have already replaced alot of them just keep it since u wont have to deal with that replaced part going out again
@@rxmarlo2303 yeah I had the car for 3 years now n it's my first car I really didn't have to do much to it but all the problems just hitting me at once but that's a good way of putting I might just keep it since I putting so much into it
My crown Vic is like that. It’s starting to rust out and it’s tired asf. You can tell when driving it.
Yeah same here but I have faith.
My dads telling me I shouldn’t get one I’m going to or get a crown Vic
Its a great car
I want one so bad remember this comment, cause when I get one I'ma come back and comment 💯
Shhhh! Keep it on the down low. There soon will be none left!
Just got a 97 with 85k for 2500
