Hey guys, just for those who's screens went black mine did too but I risked it and had a play around and managed to achieve changing it. I went back into the control screen and right clicked on desktop and clicked permissions. I then changed the box at the bottom to allow "full control" and clicked ok. Then go back and click on wallpaper and do the same process as before ( make sure you use the slash key going the same way as the others this may have been the problem when typing the picture name ) so after pasting it into the box click ok and then go back to desktop and right click, permissions again and untick full control and click ok, now exit and restart your Comp, worked for me 😉
Btw I did this using a sample picture in the folder the computer comes with this time rather than a picture I got off the net like last time, that could also be it.

I followed the steps and it worked perfectly. Make sure you use the backwards slash. If your screen goes black you could try restoring your computer by one day and that might fix it.

Do Not use this. This is OUTDATED. It can destroy your computer. I fixed it, just follow these steps: 1. Click Start 2. Type In: personalize computer 3. Now there should be a range of desktop backgrounds :)
Hi, my Win 7 Starter wallpaper screen also first turned all black, because first picture´s extension was .png. Now i use .JPG picture and It works flawless! If you want to change your wallpaper pic, you need to go again Registy editor and give "Desktop key" full control permission.

works good, need to ensure correct backslash is used in name\ and .jpg file name . corrected my black screen issue

hey, how to change 4squire, when we start the pc, 4 squares are first to come on screen. when your video goes to 3.15 seconds check it.
