Had our Specialista for 10 years or so. Squeaky noise just started recently. Only a few seconds at the beginning of the draw. Perhaps I should count myself fortunate to not a have a problem until now. Anyway, thanks for the video.
I have this same machine for almost 2 years now. I have returned it once for a water leak and the trim molding was coming loose. They replaced the tray and that fixed the leak and they fixed the trim. My machine is now making this same squeaking noise plus the milk frother in not working as well and the grinder isn't filling the doser to the line with the grind turned all the way to +. I guess I will be calling them again. I am glad I have the 3 year warranty with this machine. I am glad I kept my old Breville espresso machine that is almost 10 years old as a backup. I have never had a problem with the Breville machine. I guess I will be going back to the Breville machine once this one plays out.
My La Specialista makes great coffee 1: It doesn't make that sound - hope your machine is fixed by now. 2: Regarding the grind size - I have the built in grinder set to "1" as the others just seem to be pointless. However, if you look in the instructions, there is a method of setting the unit to a finer grind - not tried this myself yet, but at some point I will end up doing that. 3: I never use the stainless steel tubing that goes around the milk steaming wand. Took the tubing off after a couple of days and now treat the neoprene nozzle like an ordinary stream wand (for Latte Art). I had to add a small rubber "O" ring to stop the nozzle from bursting off when it got softer due to heating. 4: I can only get the steam wand to stay on for about a minute, and then it automatically cuts out. This is good enough to steam milk for one cup (we like hot flat whites). Has anyone been able to override this setting? 5: Finally - I'm going to experiment with a "naked" group head (if I can get a 51mm one), and manual tamping.
I'm a little bit late to the party, but regardless. I'm a technician of this kind of machines and if I'm not mistaken, this one uses a cheap vibratory pump to move the liquid through the system. They work perfectly fine, although they're way noisier than a rotary pump for example. Only problem is sometimes they have quite a bit of wobble (probably due to tolerances in manufacturing) and they can be pretty noisy. Almost like squeaking. I recommend you record the noise in a video and go to the shop/talk to the customer support and ask for a replacement ASAP. Pump is prone to fail in a future. Hope I have been of some help. ;)
Any idea on why it overflows when I try to make an espresso,I have tried not filing it up to the top when I grind the coffee and clean all the edges of Coffee grinds ?
When I first got it, it didn’t make a squeaking sound. About 5 weeks in I descaled as the descale indicator light was on. Shortly after I was getting a 2 second squeaking sound at the very beginning of a rinse or shot cycle. I called Delonghi support and they said to prime it again. So I put it through a rinse cycle without the porta filter. Then ran it through the espresso extraction cycle without the porta filter and another with the porta filter. I made sure there were no longer coffee grounds in the cup catching the water… just slightly discoloured water. After that the squeaking is no longer happening. Not sure if it would work for everyone but it did for mine.
I'm on my 3rd La Specialista in 2 years. Two replacements to the first DUD. These machines make excellent espresso, but they just don't stand the test of time. I have a 5 year old Breville that makes 'ok' espresso - it has never failed me but the quality of the espresso is not as good as the La Specialista. Delonghi's help line and service centre are their own special kind of hell - they're in Tennessee I think. Love the espresso when this machine works, hate the BS with parts failure.
For what it is worth (this was posted 4 years ago). I have recently discovered that the squealing noise is due to a defective or worn outlet valve. I changed the spring and ball valve and the problem went away. Cost me $7.00 CDN for the part.
I would agree that the grinder needs finer settings. Ours does not make any squeaky noises. Sounds fine. We use our pro grinder to get great shots. My girlfriend and I really love this machine.
Same to me . The technician mentioned due to pressure leak when manufacturing assembly time . He show me the damage seal , the seal seat between the valve for the pressure.
Just got my machine three days ago and it too makes a horrible squealing noise. Since I have read some people have this issues and others do not, I plan to return mine for a new machine and hope the next one doesn't have this issue.
Honestly I still have that noise I didn't exchange my machine and it still works really well. I might call for maintenance but not sure yet, seems it is just a noise with no serious issue related.
@@grenadeflicks I was able to return my machine to the store and got a replacement. I must say I am now happy with the replacement machine as it does not make that squealing noise. Now I only need to work on getting the correct grind and dose for perfect espresso.
We brought same machine in Dec last yr 2020 have replacement in July for complete new one as grinder failed and now the new one stopped working completely after doing a descried had in 3 mths so have another replacement coming and have been promised upgraded version for the prestigio
just got this machine two hours ago and washed the accessories and the water tank as per instructions. I was following the quick guide and attempted to do a rinse using the tea button. no water would come out and water indicator was red (not flashing). I removed the tank and emptied it and placed it back, ensuring that it was fitted correctly. I filled the tank but the water indicator is still red. I can't get the water to flow through the machine. So annoyed right now.
Hi, hope you solved your problem in the meantime - generally this issue could be caused by air in the flow system. Then you should use the tea (hot water) button and open the milk steam dial. So you get rid of the air and the water can flow through the system. If this doesn't help, it could also be a simple defect of the water sensor...
my machine is stuck in rinse mode and the problem is it makes zero sound, won't draw water at all but the control board flashes and acts like it's doing the final rinse mode, i wish i knew what caused this so i could fix it
Got the same machine for 3 months now and wondered how quiet it is for an espresso machine - the only point is the pressure display, which doesn't rise above 10:00h (beginning of the optimal zone), but the coffee taste good, so I don't mind... never heard a squeezing sound.
well my pressure display doeasnt rise at all. i am completely confused. is there any time that the machine has to be switched on to reach optimal temperature? naturally grinding on no 1 setting...pointer doesnot move. never. :(
Anyone having an issue with the warning light for not enough water when in fact the water is full and the dispenser is clicked in place? I have fixed this remotely with one of the DeLonghi remote tech they supplied. But it did not last( only a week or so) then i moved out of state..it's just been sitting in a closet. Sending this machine to one of there designated repair centers is crazy far and can't imagine what it would cost to ship this beast.
Mine doesn't make that squeaking sound. However... it has stopped working - the pump possibly? it will run water but not make espresso. 😕 UPATE: Just got off a video call with DeLonghi support. They were great! Turns out I needed to take the screen out of the portafilter and clean it. I didn't even know it came out! Now, if I could figure out how to get the light to shut off after it's been descaled...
Hi Thanks for the video. Just wondering why my brand new "la specialista maestro" Pressure Gauge Not Working? It doesn't make that sound and making coffee but gauge ( called optimum zone) is not working. any thoughts? cheers
What temperate of water, that goes into portafilter? And what temperature of your coffee? For some reason NOBODY in their videos show the TEMPERATURE of their espresso. On my Delonghi Arte water temperature that goes into portafilter only 79 deg C 1st few seconds then down to 73 C. So the espresso temperature is only 69 deg C. Is that normal? Because in manual they said inside machine on higher setting is set to 96 deg C. Most important - you have to have a screen for on tap of coffee in your basket, otherwise you have to wipe under brewing unit coffee grinds after every shot. You can see, when he flash the water how DIRTY it is.
Hi my name is Jose and I purchased same unit last Xmas and I was frustrated in the beginning trying to get a good shot of espresso and I blame it on the grinder for not having more numbers to adjust but I keep reading the manual and I was sure I-fallow every thing but I dent conprenhend that the Grinder have sensors, for each number will adjust automatically to the left is coars to the right is espresso, set the Grinder @# 2 then the amount of coffee in your portafilter keep it with in the mark, depends on your coffee beans The adjustment is minimal, from # 2 to #1 the big knob on the left set it pointing up then see how much coffee grounds is in the portafilter , if you need to make one adjustment more or less coffee turn the big botton L/R my machine is set @#2 big botton pointing up and I love my la spesialista hope that helps.
My machine was working perfectly until this morning. It was half way through the milk steaming and just stopped. It still has power to the machine but nothing is working
Hi, i couldn't stand the grinder not grinding fine enough so i took the top burr out and unclipped it from the plastic housing (quite hard) machined 0.4 mil of one face and fitted a 0.4 shim on the other face so burrs are closer together, put all parts together, now perfect pressure on number 2-3 on grinder. Cannot do this mod without lathe
I was leaning towards making the purchase and what scares me is that this is no cheap machine. With tax and shipping over 900.00 and with my experiences of companies leaving customers holding the bag and bailing on them and now that i came across this video, i won't be making the purchase. That's a lot of money to spend and for crap the go wrong with it. I have had many coffee makers take a crap after 6 months to just over a year just when the warranty expires and it fail. I am tired of spending my hard earn money and these companies building crappy machines. Believe me, they don't make things like they use to and it's almost every thing you buy has like a built in timer for it to fail so they get you to spend your money again. I kinda like this machine but i am gonna stay away for now.
I get where you are coming from but I'd like to share my experience. I had this machine for almost two years now and it has been working great. We use it for 2-3 coffees a day every day. This machine comes with 3 year warranty so we (my wife and I) are pretty happy with that. We bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond - it was $750, we applied the 20% discount coupon (you can get one on the spot if you enroll with your email address) for the total price of $600 + tax. This machine gives us the beat tasting coffee of all the machines we tried before and we tried a couple of Saeco full automatics, Delonghi Dedica and a couple of others. Of course it depends a lot on a type and freshness of the coffee beans that you use but I think we got all that figured out and we wouldn't change a thing.
@@grenadeflicks So, I ended up exchanging my first maker because it also stopped grinding... I mean, that does not matter how much I would crank up the ground volume, it kept grinding half the cup (single or double). Called service and they said best to exchange. I got new one pretty quick and it was obviously much better, tighter seals and so on. Did not have any high pitch sounds for the first three weeks. I noticed slight whining noise again this week. I think it is just unavoidable with high pressure brewing, it must be seal getting looser with time.
I have this same machine and it does make a bit of sound but not as loud as this. Right now I have several issues with this machine and its frustrating. First issue was the locking mechanism that hold the porter filter broke. Had a difficult time dealing with their support due to covid19. Then after someone got back to me 3 weeks later I was able to proceed with a warranty claim. Got the machine back and it returned with a whole new issue. Now it leaks water and very weak steam pressure. I called back and returning the machine. Meanwhile I thought to myself the machine is not bad at all and I went and purchased another one (because there is now way that I can go this long without proper espresso) and when the machine returns returns from repair, I can give one to my parents. HOWEVER...the new one I purchased is starting on having issues with the dosing knob. No matter which way I turn it, the dosing is not adjusting. At first it worked as usual and it stopped working all of a sudden. I tried calling Delonghi but hung up the phone after 1.5 hours of waiting. I am not certain these machines are built with good quality parts or what the case is... but right now I am having a love hate relationship with this thing. I like the machine's features and concept but I don't want to deal with all the headaches anymore. I am debating offloading them on Ebay and purchasing something else.
Recently purchased one... Not getting this noise, so it must be a defect. I too find it impossible to get a good shot with good crema, will try filling higher as you suggest.
Yeah honestly use setting 1 only and fill up the basket so that you need to use force a bit when you insert the portafilter. I ended up buying another grinder, the Breville dose pro and I am getting fantastic shot now. I use the main grinder for decaf.
@@grenadeflicks ... Thanks for the feedback! So basically you found you needed a finer grind than la specialista can do to get a really good shot? I really like the machine, but that is a serious failing! I'm inclined to ask them if the grinder can be adjusted. What do you think?
Not sure if it can be adjusted, it also depends on the beans if you can get bean with a lighter roast it is much better to pull the shot. I find the darker roast are much harder to really get it right. But I was able to pull fantastic shot by really filling up the portafilter almost to the max.
Sometimes when I put the portafilter into the machine it does not trigger the switch to turn the grinder on, in order to solve this problem I found that turning the switch off and on again in the back of the machine resets it and then it works again? Not sure why this happens, but it is annoying when it does.
This is my first machine so I can not compare with other machines. I just thought the sounds I hear are normal for espresso machines. I paid more for this machine because it was so simple and less mess to operate. I have enjoyed my cappuccino break each afternoon.
You choose well De Longhi make the best coffee machine in the world, people that complain don't know what coffee is, Breville is good only for toasters.
I agree with the grinder comment - I too have the earliest version of the La Specialista like yours with 6 grind settings : ( . I also found that the cup depth was a little shallow internally so I sourced an after-market one that could hold more coffee for a better extraction. Some earlier Breville machines had a similar grind issue and there was a fix involving the installation of a washer which I guess elevated the bottom grinding burr to close the gap and grind the coffee finer - No luck so far finding a similar solution for my La Specialista but if anyone has found it please let me know. Sadly for the time I use my separate Sunbeam grinder but the built in one is less messy. Thanks for your video.
Mine does not make that high pitched noise - just got it tho and your video is a year old so maybe they fixed the issue? I love the machine. But am annoyed I can’t switch beans until the bean container is empty. Is there a hack for this? I enjoyed your video - thanks!
That is definitely a defect. Mine does not do that at all. Make use of that 3 yr warranty or bring it back and get another one. My grinder settings work fine but each person is different.
The grinder issue was the same for a Breville that I got rid of. Likely you can modify the burr stop to allow a finer grind. I use to do this with standalone home grinders. They should include a non pressurized basket. Very surprising they dont. Aliexpress has them. Whining sound is not normal in high pressure brewing. Any properly working vibe, rotary pump machine does not do that. Normal to hear the vibration pump. Is portafilter chromed brass, stainless or aluminum? IMO sainless and brass is better as better heat retention and added weight feels better.
I have one la specialista, different model, but I have problems getting to optimal zone. The machine I have is from amazon liquidation so I am not expecting a lot. What I noticed on the video of the machine is that the gauge needle went up even the the filter with no coffe. My machine comes with non pressurized filters. I will appreiate any coments. Thanks for the video.
Try increasing the dose and also the grind level. Also I recommend medium and light roast they worked the best with this machine, better than dark roast
I just got mine jus this week. I agree with you about the grind they should make more choices and not only 1-6 levels. For the sound i don't have that problem, I can hear the pump but no squeaking noise like yours. Maybe you should bring your machine to the service center for them to understand and have a side by side comparison.
I bought mine in January, about 2 1/2 months ago. It also makes the squeaking noise. I just thought it was normal and got used to it. Yesterday a general warning light came on and the frothier no longer works. Hopefully customer service gets this resolved quickly.
I too find that all grind settings less than 1 are useless. In fact I only ever use the double shot filter (for a single serve) and have found that I get a perfect 25 second shot with really great crema every time, the pressure gauge is even right around mid point of optimal range, which is something I cannot achieve with a single dose filter basket. The major caveat is that the beans MUST be fresh roasted, so no older than around 2 weeks. I do set the dose to the recommended line mark. If there is more in the basket above the line I cannot close the portafilter in the grouphead. I'm hoping at some point someone might come up with a grinder hack that may permit finer grinding than 1 because as you said anything less is useless for great espresso. Overall I'm happy with my machine. Mine does not make your noise. My 2c worth; Get that shit checked out.
Hi dose anybody have trouble tapping the used coffee out of the Porta filter? In the end i converted an old breville single wall basket and it workes perfectly but I couldn't get decent pressure or creama so i use the grinder on the old brville because it grinds much finer, perfect pressure and creama. It lookes a bit stupid having two coffee machines to make one cup of coffee, maybe I should've fixed the brville?
I got my Specialista a couple of days ago, and I waited till today to really enjoy it. I wasn’t able to do anything since it seems the bean hopper isn’t clicking into place. Any thoughts?
Yes I talked to support apparently this is normal sound for a while which I find still very suspicious, anyway I will see if it goes away in the next few weeks.
I just figured it out. Did my first Descaling. So when it is on descaling fill the water tank a little above “A” wait until it runs out of water and then refill to Max and click on Rinse button. Approximately At the half way all buttons started flashing which means “Its done”. Then i turn the B8 to Americano and voala ... Descaling light OFF
Hi I have the same problem. Only have the machine 4 weeks. It was quiet until I descaled it. Now I have that squeak. Did you get a response from De Longi?
These things shouldn't exist. We're on our 3rd one and the grinder stopped working. Unless you like packing and returning heavy things, steer clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re grinding fine enough, there is a adjustment setting which I only could find in the german manual. Here is the google translate, maybe it helps. To see what buttons you need to press download that manual from the German Delonghi website. 11.9 Subsequent adjustment of the grinding degree Over time, the grinding tools wear out and the amount of coffee powder is reduced. If the setting of the grinding tools explained in section "6.4 Setting the grinding degree" is not more is sufficient, a new grinding area can be selected. To do this, proceed as follows: 1.Press and hold the (B3) and (B7) buttons for at least 3 seconds: the menu is called up: the Control lamps (B15) and (B16) alternate from; 2. Turn the function switch (B8) to: the indicator lamp (B14) remains permanently on; 3. Select the new grinding area by pressing the button press (B4); 4. Press the (B1) button to exit the menu. (The device leaves after about 1 minute of non-use automatically the Settings menu and returns to operational); 5. Turn the coffee powder quantity regulator (B2) up "Min" and make the setting as for the first use ("6.4 Setting the grinding degree"). If the amount of coffee powder is reduced again, turn A customer service center to order the grinding tools replaced. Then turn up the quantity regulator for ground coffee (B2) "Min" and make the setting as for the first use ("6.4 Setting the grinding degree").
I just purchased this and when I trid double shots didn’t do it with a single shot I heard the noise so I’ll give it an other try . I’ll repost the results
Ours doesn’t squeak did you run a lot of water to flush and air purge the machine, I agree it needs more grind settings but you will find as you change beans you will need to dial it back. Even delonghi in there demonstrations fill above the line. The thing that makes this machine so attractive the tamping lever! I believe it’s what let’s it down, manually tamping will give a better shot and get you into that optimal range of pressure. I know you shouldn’t have too but I don’t think the lever is perfect
Well it’s definitely a problem with your machine as mine is very quite, just take it back to where you bought it , they are under warranty and I recommend doing it because one problem will soon result in another , my suggestion is sort it ASAP
It's not defect ! The only problem I have with it is quality of material its built and grinder versatility! I love la cimbali but for home it would be costly. I'm happy with Jura in my office but semi manual its gut for less than $1000.
This machine also has a manufacturing issue where it will empty the water tank thru the right hand tray port, fill up your tray and, if any water left in the tank, flow onto your counter. This has been experienced by many buyers. De'longhi does not seem to want to acknowledge the issue. See ruclips.net/video/ULWfsw7lZbo/видео.html
I think I found a universal fix to elevating the bottom grinding burr to grind finer on this machine. It's a modifying tweak used on a stand alone Delonghi Dedica Grinder but looks like it should work using an extra washer for more height: ruclips.net/video/aSuBrhZI-xY/видео.html
@@grenadeflicks only problem is I haven't been able to undo the bottom burr (clockwise rotation) as it's incredibly tight and getting a grip with bull noe pliers isn't so easy : (
Yes to the question did I do it. It successfully tightened the grind to make the coffee finer for a better extraction. I used pliers over a cloth to grip the centre grind burr to loosen & remove it. The cloth helped grip the burr, limit slipping and prevent damage to the burr. Good luck everyone. I believe the more recent models have more than 6 grind settings thus making a finer grind.
Have this machine for a month and a half, if this thing physically lasts it is the best home machine I have ever used! I used to work a coffee bar in SF back in the 70's and made espresso on high-priced commercial machines (FAEMA), must say that once warmed properly the coffee crema is beautiful and smooth from this little wonder. Steam is fine for good foam, use a thermometer if you like, very low effort as you can sit the pitcher on the tray and watch. No noise on my machine, sounds like you have a manufacturing flaw because it sounds like piping flow limiting before warming up, causing that squealing sound. KEEP that machine CLEAN, the expensive commercial machines fail, just like this little one would, if you don't keep the machine clean and descale when necessary. Good luck all, I went for this versus the Breville which seemed quite overpriced to me.
Hi there,I’m wondering if you could help me with an issue about this apresso machine When I try to make a apresso it overflows and drips coffee all around the scoop,I have tried not feeling it up all the way to the top, make sure all the edges are clean of coffee grinds, loosing my patience and kind of regretting purchasing it a year ago Thank you in advance for any tips about resolving this issue !
@@paulanogueira6640 The only time this happens is if the portafiltro hole is plugged up, if you forget to put the strainer in the portafilter, if your coffee is ground way too fine, or in the worst case, if the rubber seal of the head unit is blown. If all of these things are proper, coffee just comes out of the portafilter. Look at the pressure gage, if no pressure or low pressure probably the rubber, if too high pressure the portafikter or grind is the problem.
FIXED IT! The high pitch noise. Just tighten the screw in the boiler head and voilà noise is gone.

my machine is stuck in rinse mode and the problem is it makes zero sound, won't draw water at all but the control board flashes and acts like it's doing the final rinse mode, i wish i knew what caused this so i could fix it
Got the same machine for 3 months now and wondered how quiet it is for an espresso machine - the only point is the pressure display, which doesn't rise above 10:00h (beginning of the optimal zone), but the coffee taste good, so I don't mind... never heard a squeezing sound.
well my pressure display doeasnt rise at all. i am completely confused. is there any time that the machine has to be switched on to reach optimal temperature? naturally grinding on no 1 setting...pointer doesnot move. never. :(
Anyone having an issue with the warning light for not enough water when in fact the water is full and the dispenser is clicked in place? I have fixed this remotely with one of the DeLonghi remote tech they supplied. But it did not last( only a week or so) then i moved out of state..it's just been sitting in a closet. Sending this machine to one of there designated repair centers is crazy far and can't imagine what it would cost to ship this beast.
Mine doesn't make that squeaking sound. However... it has stopped working - the pump possibly? it will run water but not make espresso. 😕
UPATE: Just got off a video call with DeLonghi support. They were great! Turns out I needed to take the screen out of the portafilter and clean it. I didn't even know it came out! Now, if I could figure out how to get the light to shut off after it's been descaled...
I got mine today and all it does when I turn it off is flashing lights and doesn’t let me make any options .
That's a defect. I have the same espresso machine. Mines don't squeak or make that loud sound. It's very simple. Exchange it. 👍
I have the machine but the grinder is not working. I don't know why
Hi, will stopping, when you use more, I has the same anoint problem before.
Hi Thanks for the video. Just wondering why my brand new "la specialista maestro" Pressure Gauge Not Working? It doesn't make that sound and making coffee but gauge ( called optimum zone) is not working. any thoughts? cheers
Check with their tech support, they usually have good support and can send it to repair
Wow amazing not sure I can do this, lol.
@Xander Zaccone would you please explain how to get this extra grinding setting?
Did you get the issue fixed? Mine doesn't do that. I would have taken it back to the store
Don't borher I'm on my third machine replacement now
Hi, thanks for the video! I have the same sounds and thought crossed my mind to take it back for exchange. I wonder if it is pressure leak.
Yeah still not sure what it is, still doing it after a week. It stops when machine is really warm.
If you are in Australia, you are entitled to a full refund by law, as thr machine doesn't operate as intended from purchase.
@@grenadeflicks ... Lighter roast...I'll try that too. Thanks again.
Sometimes when I put the portafilter into the machine it does not trigger the switch to turn the grinder on, in order to solve this problem I found that turning the switch off and on again in the back of the machine resets it and then it works again? Not sure why this happens, but it is annoying when it does.
Thank you so much for this. Im surprised more ppl havent had this issue. You saved me from so much internal stress. 🥰
Just got one today. Rescaling light on from nu. No frother. Working. Sending it back
This is my first machine so I can not compare with other machines.
Hey! Any update yet sir?
We have the same one and the noise is not normal.
No I don't get that noise with mine
Mine does not make that high pitched noise - just got it tho and your video is a year old so maybe they fixed the issue?
I love the machine. But am annoyed I can’t switch beans until the bean container is empty. Is there a hack for this? I enjoyed your video - thanks!
That is definitely a defect. Mine does not do that at all. Make use of that 3 yr warranty or bring it back and get another one. My grinder settings work fine but each person is different.
Yeah will do thanks!
I just bought this machine and also have the same sound, but for a very short moment. Should I ask for an exchange?
Bought mine a few days ago, the pressure gauge isn't working. Otherwise makes lovely expresso
Breville should stick with toasters and leave the coffee machine to the professional...
@@giancarlocipolla4416 If you follow the Breville support related forums many do indeed become toast.
I found a better quality of coffee bean got me optimum daily results
Hello, I got an issue, I turn on the machine but it doesn’t work it only the light on in the hot water! What should I do?
I just got mine jus this week. I agree with you about the grind they should make more choices and not only 1-6 levels. For the sound i don't have that problem, I can hear the pump but no squeaking noise like yours. Maybe you should bring your machine to the service center for them to understand and have a side by side comparison.
I bought mine in January, about 2 1/2 months ago. It also makes the squeaking noise. I just thought it was normal and got used to it. Yesterday a general warning light came on and the frothier no longer works. Hopefully customer service gets this resolved quickly.
What was the fix? My frother no longer works at all. Turn the dial and no steam comes out at all. Complete silence?
Mine doesn't squeak like that.
Just bought mine today but all the lights are blinking and won't stop. Anybody got clues?
No, mine dose not have a high pitched sound...no squeaks
No mine hasn't made the sound
Bought one and can't even start it. It came airlocked from factory and can't solve it
I’ve had mine for a year and definitely not making those sounds
Hi dose anybody have trouble tapping the used coffee out of the Porta filter? In the end i converted an old breville single wall basket and it workes perfectly but I couldn't get decent pressure or creama so i use the grinder on the old brville because it grinds much finer, perfect pressure and creama. It lookes a bit stupid having two coffee machines to make one cup of coffee, maybe I should've fixed the brville?
Yes this is normal because of the pressurized basket and the rubber thing in it makes it difficult for the puck to get out.
@@grenadeflicks it seems a shame that a big company like delonghi cant design such a simple thing ?
Is an upgrade from la specialista to prestigio worth the money?
Yes I think the upgrade is great. I got the Prestigio now, will do a video soon on it
Did service get back to you?
I got my Specialista a couple of days ago, and I waited till today to really enjoy it. I wasn’t able to do anything since it seems the bean hopper isn’t clicking into place. Any thoughts?
you had to be quite forceful to click it in...then worked perfectly
Yea it’s a defect. My machine doesn’t make that sound. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks though.
any feedback on the noise? Just bought one and want to see what the result was... let you know if I have the same issue
Yes I talked to support apparently this is normal sound for a while which I find still very suspicious, anyway I will see if it goes away in the next few weeks.
Mine doesn't make that sound
Ours sounds like that too! We have never been able and cannot get the correct pressure, we are a bit disappointed about that.
Any one have an issue with the de scaling light staying on after de scaling??
Yes that’s why I’m hear , mine won’t turn off either 😡
Have you found a fix yet ?
Yes, our descaling light never turns off. Even after we have descaled.
Descaling light OFF
Cheaper but high maintenance in terms of buying descalers which is add to more cost haha.
I have the same problem, but there's I descaked again, sticking precisely to each and every step in the manual and then it worked out fine
Hi I have the same problem. Only have the machine 4 weeks. It was quiet until I descaled it. Now I have that squeak. Did you get a response from De Longi?
Hi I have a same problem. The squeak happens after I descaled it. Did you find a solution? Mine is 2 years old and out of warranty
My machine doesn’t quiet make as much squeaky noise as much as yours
These things shouldn't exist. We're on our 3rd one and the grinder stopped working. Unless you like packing and returning heavy things, steer clear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got this machine and it doesn’t make that squeak noise
That squeak definitely doesn’t sound normal
Re grinding fine enough, there is a adjustment setting which I only could find in the german manual. Here is the google translate, maybe it helps. To see what buttons you need to press download that manual from the German Delonghi website.
11.9 Subsequent adjustment of the grinding degree
Over time, the grinding tools wear out and the amount of coffee powder is reduced. If the setting of the grinding tools explained in section "6.4 Setting the grinding degree" is not
more is sufficient, a new grinding area can be selected.
To do this, proceed as follows:
1.Press and hold the (B3) and (B7) buttons for at least 3 seconds: the menu is called up: the
Control lamps (B15) and (B16) alternate
from;
2. Turn the function switch (B8) to: the indicator lamp (B14) remains permanently on;
3. Select the new grinding area by pressing the button
press (B4);
4. Press the (B1) button to exit the menu. (The device leaves after about 1 minute of non-use
automatically the Settings menu and returns to operational);
5. Turn the coffee powder quantity regulator (B2) up
"Min" and make the setting as for the first use ("6.4 Setting the grinding degree").
If the amount of coffee powder is reduced again, turn
A customer service center to order the grinding tools
replaced.
Then turn up the quantity regulator for ground coffee (B2)
"Min" and make the setting as for the first use ("6.4 Setting the grinding degree").
What are the B3 B16 and all those??
Can you do a video to explain this maybe?
Did you got an answer from delonghi?
What is the manufacturer date on your unit? My machine has the same high pitch sound as yours. What was Delonghi conclusion?
Mine doesn't do that sound but it started to leak water. Hummm?
Anyone have problems with the grinder no longer working? I vacuumed the bean grinder and cleaned it as best I could and no success.
I just got this problem. Were you able to find a solution?
@@ivv1650 yes, we had to unplug the machine and plug it back in. Worked normally afterwards
@@runnergirl1694 Thanks a million!!!
This happened with mine yesterday , I had to totally reset the machine , working fine except, the grind is way over and no way able to tamper properly
💥💥💥💥DEFECTIVE 💥💥💥
I just got the machine and it does the same thing, did you ever find out if it's a defect? or normal? please respond thanks!
I never serviced it and still does the noise, seems it is not a major problem as the coffee is fantastic.
Well it’s definitely a problem with your machine as mine is very quite, just take it back to where you bought it , they are under warranty and I recommend doing it because one problem will soon result in another , my suggestion is sort it ASAP
Sounds defective mine does not make that noise at all good luck.
La specialista or breville pro ?
Breville Pro is better, Less issue. Just my personal thoughts.
It's not defect ! The only problem I have with it is quality of material its built and grinder versatility! I love la cimbali but for home it would be costly. I'm happy with Jura in my office but semi manual its gut for less than $1000.
I have had my machine for 3 yrs
Definitely defective. Mines does not make that sound.
Mine is fine no noise at all
This machine also has a manufacturing issue where it will empty the water tank thru the right hand tray port, fill up your tray and, if any water left in the tank, flow onto your counter.
Nice find
@@grenadeflicks only problem is I haven't been able to undo the bottom burr (clockwise rotation) as it's incredibly tight and getting a grip with bull noe pliers isn't so easy : (
@@marksawyer7893 Did you do it sir?
Yes to the question did I do it. It successfully tightened the grind to make the coffee finer for a better extraction. I used pliers over a cloth to grip the centre grind burr to loosen & remove it. The cloth helped grip the burr, limit slipping and prevent damage to the burr. Good luck everyone. I believe the more recent models have more than 6 grind settings thus making a finer grind.
@@marksawyer7893 Good job! I think I will try it… Could you tell me please how many and how thick extra washer(s) did you put on?
Our machine is dispensing to much coffee grind
Hi there,I’m wondering if you could help me with an issue about this apresso machine
When I try to make a apresso it overflows and drips coffee all around the scoop,I have tried not feeling it up all the way to the top, make sure all the edges are clean of coffee grinds, loosing my patience and kind of regretting purchasing it a year ago
Thank you in advance for any tips about resolving this issue !
Mine makes that sound. Don't think it's a big deal..
I have this machine. My machine doesn't make that noise.
