I’ve been looking for one for 2 years and still haven’t found the right one. It’s got to the point where I’m seeing the same cars come back up for sale with different owners. I’m holding out for the perfect one.
Hahaha brilliant, these cars really test ones patience! I have two, bought a donor car in appalling state to fix my crash damaged facelift 2010. I have to learn on the fly and sadly no hoist to assist with engine out. Still worth it in my books when you can easily smash past 300kph!
Hi Ricky! question. Can you delete the balancing shaft from an Audi S6/S8 5.2 V10 and just use an idle gear instead? Love your shop, your guys, your content. Thanks! Debbie.
Thanks for the sound consumer advice. There are sweet spots in the performance car market. Always thought tuning a B7 S4 was probably a smarter move for your wallet than the TS4. It is a shame about the C6 RS6 because the bottom ends on those V10's are meant to be good for 1200hp!
@@REPerformanceUK I passed on an RS 6 Plus, and ended up with the E63. P30 option, so LSD installed :) Not as grippy as the RS 6, but sounds awesome with that big lazy 6.2.
This is my dream car since I saw Richard Hammond drive it on Top Gear, I've just picked up the exact car in Sepang Blue with low miles/owners with the carbon ceramics. MOT tester said the steering rack has play which has now given me the fear after watching this video, Also has an oil leak as I can smell it after a hard run. Do I do the work or get rid for an RS3 🤔
Just changed my mind real quick. Weighing up chucking away my tuned saab for a car thats quick stock because I'm tired of fixing it on my drive every 5 minutes but looks like this would be the same story but more money each time. A nice w211 e55k might have to do it then. Any suggestions of a reliable fast estate in the 15-25 range that isn't a maintenance, engine out nightmare?
Hello there would you be able to share your opinion on hybrid or electric cars please. I can only imagine that you're not keen on them but would love to hear opinion of top professional. Once again thank you for great channel and content keep up great work.
Why don't you replace these coolant and connectors with more generic durable parts to avoid being financially destroyed? The 996s (coolant hoses) and BMW N63s have that problem with coolant hoses where you pay 2,000$ for otherwise 120$ worth of silicone hoses and T's if you replaced them .
Sound great, Very easy to tune but absolute pigs when they go wrong and you need deep pockets to keep them going. C7 RS6 is on my list once my F80 /m3 goes.

Taking engines out is a good way of determining the tensile strength of anything you've not disconnected ...... 😂😂 P.S 1.0 ecoboost is an engine out to do a cam belt (Easiest way anyhow), don't mention wet cam belts or disintegrating oil pump belts or a blown cylinder head gasket on the middle pot due to losing a cup full of coolant ( gets the hottest due to the stoooopid inhead exhaust manifold so pops first)
@@REPerformanceUK Yessir! It's just e60 maintenance doesn't sound so bad after what you've outlined, yet has the worst reputation. Even the c63 (m156) quietly gets away with murder lol! Great vid by the way 👌🏽

Hello
I have removed the gearbox twice on my rs6 v10 without removing the engine
any chance of doing a short vid on the black Charger,? am an old Mopar ead from way back and would love to see more of it
We are planning to before it leaves us!
Think I’ll still get the car because it’s my favourite car of all time 😂

U mean b7 s4?
@@depthmapping Edited - quite right.
These are strong engines! Just getting on now and require a lot of work to keep in good nick. That with parts costs just means ££

Yes hard to get parts for!!
Great video, especially coming from someone thinking about either a C6 RS6 or the W212 M156-based E63 AMG.
Thank you!

Hola. Estoy entre esperar a un c7 o ir a por un c6 pero dicen que es motor poco fiable. Vale la pena comprar un v10?

What you choose?
The old 2.2 20V Turbo lives longer with 600+ hp than this 5.0 V10 Biturbo! Think about that.
Yeah I’ll stick with my 93’ UrS4 although there’s something about a TT V10 avant!
Great video guys. Thanks.

What do you do to the gearboxes on these?, the input shaft is quite strong.
The input shafts are made of cheese!! Lol they twist easily and on cars making over 1000nm trq they need to be changed to billet!
I remember sportmiles input shaft
Was no stronger than stock?

So I shouldn't mate this engine to a manual transmission and put it in a B5? Got it.

These were my thoughts if it has not been maintained religiously ahead of time don't do it , if they have its a great car .
Yes! Staying on top of it all is key!!
As someone who has rebuilt an R53 and removed the engine multiple times, seems like business as usual.
Audi should throw these engines in a new SUV model to rival the G-Wagon
The new V8 is better bang for buck!
So the e60 M5 is still a better buy after all 🙂
