Along the Farmer's Market idea- stop at the 'fruit stands' along your route. Get cherries in Washington, sweet corn in Colorado, etc. Other great places have pick your strawberries or blueberries.
Great video. I cheered especially loud when i saw the footage from the Wisconsin Airshow. The military plane dumping water….it was a MAFFS drop and that C-130 was from the Air Force Reserve in Colorado. It is one of 6 aircraft that are equipped with firefighting capabilities. I was in the Air National Guard in California and we also had that firefighting mission. Thanks for including that!!! Love your videos, you guys, kids, and Charlie!!!!
Only secret you need... get out there and do! NEVER assume tomorrow, use KYD's advice to get started now with what you have/can afford, don't wait for the perfect setup. My wife recently has fallen ill and we have gone from tons of camping and making wonderful memories since 2017 to done. That latest "thing" you bought to keep up with the Jones's is just something to collect dust, waste your money and you will regret buying it years later. Travel will make you more interesting and I have people always wanting to talk to me because I DO (at least I did...).
Prayers for your wife and you. So glad you did get out since 2017. We have an old but very functional 2006 travel trailer. Everything works great and we love it.
Now this is a great video. Oh the memories we make along our travels. Too numerous to count. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Always, Steve Robinson
Great video! We find that we enjoy each others's company more and have a better time when we leave days unscheduled. Sharing the trip with people we love is magical.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing. Last summer on our trip from Texas to the west coast we played music on our truck stereo about towns and cities we were passing through. At Barstow, California we played Route 66 by Asleep At The Wheel. At Bakersfield, California we listened to Kern River by Merle Haggard. In San Francisco we played San Francisco by Scott McKenzie. Having heard those songs for decades brought those places to life as we took in the sights.
All just so true. We are on day 1 of week 4 of our current trip, relaxing and watching your Sunday evening video, after spending most of the day exploring DC. Quite amazing to be exploring the nation's capital and then 45 minutes later to be relaxing in our own little home on wheels...as always, safe travels.
Great info, we are on our way home after renting an RV and heading to a State Park in Southern Indiana. Joined by our adult children from Texas and northern Illinois, we all headed to the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. Great time.

Just re-watched the truck payload video you did 6 years ago. An oldie, but loaded with tons of useful info. Maybe you could do an updated video as I'm sure you have tons of newer subscribers who would find that info invaluable!
Drum and Bugle Corps shows (DCI) they are all around the country this summer starting around June. Will be eating some great food along the way to see a few of them. See you on the road KYD.
I second that comment. I marched for 2 summers wayyyy back when and can confirm that it's the greatest activity in the world that nobody's ever heard of.
My first response when I saw the title was...Love, true love, which you two have or at least you do a good job of editing it so it comes off that way. Now to watch the video.
Thanks for sharing your trips with us... many good memories that I wasn't there to share, but I remember them through your channel. Have a blessed Summer!
Thank you so much. Have been watching the tornado and flood devastation that has taken place in our country. So this was awesome as well as seeing Charlie. Please do give him a hug for me.
Just looove your videos/tips! We are getting ready for 2 weeks going from Calgary-AB Canada to Seattle-WA USA! Will be our first time pulling our 2007 Jayco 19JTX and we are sooooo excited!!!
Watching your videos make me so happy! I hope someday to spend some time RVing, but you guys make it feel like I'm out there seeing all the National Parks etc. with you and I love that! I heard that to film in the National Parks we have to buy a permit to be able to share it on our social media. Would you be willing to make a blog post helping us understand how to do that and what is all involved, please?
Can’t wait for the Ichetucknee video!! I spent many summers tubing the river before it was a State Park. That is one of the many local, beautiful places we spend time at in the area (G’ville resident).
I loved watching young Caleb on this vidio! All these years of travel with your family, still love to follow you both! All the different RV/travel trailers class a, your family has traveled in all these years! See you in Ohio!
Wow! If that didn’t get everyone ready to have a fun RV trip, then I don’t know what will ! Well done, such good memories and a nice presentation in one! Looking forward to the next episodes. ❤
*sigh* And here we are getting ready to list our travel trailer because gas is 1.68/L or almost 7.00/Gal in Southern Ontario Canada. Private campgrounds like the KOA are close to 100.00/ night for full hook up. We aren't at an age to take advantage of longer travel to the States yet. We are sad about the sale, but we will still continue to live vicariously through your travels and maybe one day when the kids are grown and we have more time, we can pick up where we left off. Thank you for all the tips and years of encouragement!
I really like all the advice you provide on KYD. I don't recall a video regarding remaining fit (although I definitely remember the ups & downs..excellent) Obviously riding is important to you all, what else?
We were at BBB this year also. Hate that we didn't get a chance to see you. Where did you stay? We highly recommend Chewacla State Park if you didn't stay there this time. The Mountain Bike Trails there are great!

Come back to Dripping Springs, TX for our Songwriters festival in late October! Lowkey up and coming artists in a small indoor/outdoor locations (all walkable).
I don't know how you do the miles. Just took a trip from Ohio to the Grand canyon with multiple stops along the way. The roads are TERRIBLE pot holes bad joints and terrible bridge approaches. Literally made me mad pulling the camper feeling the abuse on the truck and camper.
My brother is selling his trailer due to relocation to another part of the country and he can't take it along....my Mom has a pickup capable of towing it sitting unused in her garage and is thinking of selling it....then I watched this video and thinking....I wonder if we could work out a deal and start planning some travel.
