Gorgeous views! SO different than the AT. Watching Mama Bear (Mom) and Little Bear (daughter, I think 11 yo) on the AT this year. They are honoring the “River Crossing” tradition! You are an inspiration to others!! ❤❤

Hey Hiking Dancer. . . .Good stuff. Class of 2016 here. learned all of these lessons. It is said that the human body exhales a cup of water each night. So.... on those clear nights, open your tent up as much as possible to allow moisture to move out of your shelter. Tie your shoe laces together and hang the shoes on a tent pole in the direction of the sunrise. It's just as cold outside (if the wind is still) so get out of your tent - think of it a being in a home freezer that isn't defrosted get in the sun. You're going to love the adventure your on. It's fun following you.

You are so happy while you are on the trail and I can’t help but smile while watching and listening to you. Are you watching Mama Bear and Little Bear? Oftentimes, whenever they cross arrive, stream or puddle, Little Bear gives it a ‘river crossin’. That’s a cute tribute to you.

Beautiful scenery through out this video. Great videography, Julianne. I love the way you film the footprint of the trail as you walk it. I think you have a great tramily going there. Everyone seems to be compatible. You do get a little ahead when your inner Roadrunner comes out, but that gives you alone time and a quick rest as everyone else catches up. Smart move, Julianne. Ya'll take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Plus she has to set up the camera for the walkbys then get it. Her speed is good for the videography.

As much as bags cost you would think they would... have a stop at the end of the strap to prevent that. :-/

If your quilt is marginal, add a sleeping bag liner or get a cheap fleece throw blanket. You should consider a Zippo Pocket warmer. It is fueled by lighter fluid and is very handy in cold situations. It can add a bunch of warmth to your bed or it can dry your shoes and socks at night. If you run into really bad weather you can wear it inside your coat for warmth. It heats much more than a chemical warmer and for 12 hours per refill. Another nice video. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

RoadRunner, I didn't want to comment until I was caught up, but now I am, so... It's so great that you are back out on trail, and that you are sharing another adventure with all of us. Many, many thanks. Great videos so far, and the folks you are with at this point all seem very nice and good company. That has to be a great advantage. Terrific videos so far, your production is top notch. Must say, my favorite shots are those when you show other hikers in the distance, and then pull out to show the perspective of where they are compared to where you are. Those shots really tell the story of the landscape's vastness. So I would vote for more of those, they are terrific shots. I hope this finds you well wherever you are, and that you all are staying strong and keeping safe. Good luck, I look forward to watching how your epic adventure unfolds. All the best, Jack NYC (watched your entire AT hike)

put your socks and water bottle in your bag/quilt with you that prevents them freezing. That’s a tip from the Outdoor Boys channel. Not much you can do about shoes. Get some chapstick for your lips and apply often. It’s going to be cold and dry for quite some miles, then warm and dry. Stay safe, keep on hiking you guys are doing great. Maybe some gloves as those cacti are kinda close to the edge of the trail and you can prevent catching spines in your hands which is quite painful.

Don't remember what quilt you have, but Enlightened Equipment had, probably still has, a "down refresh" they can do that adds some down to your quilt. You ship it back, they do it and ship it back. No help now, but maybe later. I had this done when I bought my quilt, like adding extra down that other makers have as an option when you order.

Just a thought, you don’t have to use those side straps on your Hyperlight… close the top with the Velcro, take the two clips on the top and close them together, roll it down, and use the top cinch strap to secure it. Then you can cut off those pointless side straps. Kind of like how a Palante Pack closes if you need a reference =) have fun!

How much desert do you have to travel 😮 i know you are haveing a blast but my Anxiety would be overwhelmed. With the small problems you are haveing your bag and tent and the quilt. That for me would be not cool for me. But you have a lot more patience than i do. The PTC is so much different than the A.T its blowing my mind 🤯

Dispatch thinks her SMD Lunar Solo pitches too big? The SMD designs look like their area takes more space, but the floor space is actually minimal compared to the actual stakeouts, that's what I've discovered with my SMD Gatewood Cape. It's good to see you taking it a bit easier on your ankle, everyone will ramp up to speed on their own time.

Your quilt is at the edge of comfort to survival .. it's difficult to believe any company's markings
As they age and the down feathers start to break apart, that comfort\survival number climbs higher

It's good to camp in the cold then have warm days as the sun comes out. It's not so good to camp in the cold then walk in the cold/rain all day. That's grim.

Frozen shoes suuuuuuuck! Try putting them and your socks under your inflatable sleeping mat between the 1/8 in mat. Maybe under your head like a pillow, or under feet or knees. If you can sleep with something elevated and lumpy shoes under your mat, it should keep them from freezing.
