      What a big surprise when you go to sell your silver brick you may have just ruined your brick or even worse it may not be 100% silver. No buyer is going to assume its purity without checking, do you really think this $40K plus brick will be an easy sell especially at your LCS.

    After selling a couple homes in 2022, I'm anticipating a housing crisis in order to buy inexpensively. As a backup plan, I've been thinking about purchasing stocks. What recommendations do you have for the best time to buy? On the one hand, I keep reading and seeing trader earnings of over $500k each week. On the other side, I keep hearing that the market is out of control and experiencing a dead cat bounce. Why does this happen?...

    Talk about low tier silver, I have a question for anyone here. If you had a chance to buy clean silver at spot, would you? Because my LCS just took in some odd looking 20 g silver rounds with a past president on it and I asked him what he was going to do with it and he said they would go straight into scrap. Should I offer to buy it at scrap? If there is a good possibility of silver increasing significantly in value over the next 3 years it seems that holding this would still make some sense.

  • @ChosenOneDan
    @ChosenOneDan Год назад +3

    I get your point on silver bullion slabs but I think its not a big premium to get a ms 70 graded slabbed eagle over a cull eagle. most places have eagles at $40 - 41 lose when a ms70 common year is about $48 - 50. not paying much of a premium to have a eagle certified. and who knows down the road it can be a nice price bump. its definitely more for collectors than stackers tho I plan to have a slabbed eagle of every year 1986 - current if I can overtime. other nice thing is you're much more confident that the eagle is real and not a fake. as long as you check that holder and check the cert with photos to be sure its legit.

    I would disagree with just a few of your choices. The 40% coins can and often do carry a hefty amount over spot because they appeal to two or more of your silver enthusiast. First you have the stacker who is after it for coin collectors as well as the coin collectors. Plus there are coin collectors who are after just special dates as well as condition. Both of these can and do run up the price. The grading coins depending on the number of the grade, especially if it is high, then you will have a run up on the collector. For instance, a MS or a PF 69 will definitely have a price run up but if they are 70 then the price can be 10-50 times higher because collectors always want the highest number for their collection. The other one is the coins especially like the Morgan and Peace will always run higher than spot because they appeal to a number of different groups. Thus you will have everyone running the price up above spot.
    There are a couple of other options that I may disagree with but I think that you put in your price range and collection grade pretty well.

I'm actually with you on the 1oz generic bar thing, though. What's the point when you could just have rounds? They look like coins and would therefore make more sense for barter.

    I love 40 percent, i get it at about spot.... Why pay insane premiums when you can get silver with almost no premiums?...also world junk silver my LCS will sell close to spot as well.. (think Canadian 80 percent silver dollars, like 15 bucks, half the price of a US silver dollar) eventually, people will want the 40% and other 'non 90%' junk silver, so why not buy that stuff now when ther is no premium cause ther not making any of that stuff anymore and eventually the demand wil out pace the fixed supply ...i plan on handing this stuff down to my kids ..ao by then ..im pretty sure ther will be premiums on All junk silver....

  • @PatrickDKing
    @PatrickDKing Год назад +4

    I'm not sold on precious metals. It seems to have high costs built in (premiums) which then relies on wishful thinking that the spot values will go up and then to liquidate you are going to get squeezed because the buyers are in the business of reselling it. Seems to me, the real money is in taking in precious metals refining it and selling it to people in the market of buying the metals. It's like with stocks, why gamble with investing your money when you can be a broker/bank/clearing house/stock exchange and make money all day everyday even when others lose.

    • @LegacyStacker
      @LegacyStacker Год назад +2

      Hi Patrick King! Nice silver strategy! 😎

    • @michaeldobson107
      @michaeldobson107 Год назад

      All of that may be true, depending upon your point of view, but many people who "stack silver" also have a genuine love of the hunt, or the lifelong effort to gather together a substantial and/or eclectic collection. They've been bitten by the silver bug, as much as someone who collects stamps, baseball cards or comics.
      For instance, people who collect stamps, baseball cards or comics KNOW they will never sell their collection for more than they paid for it unless they acquire a "few" pieces along the way that turn out to be rare or highly collectible. And even then, it will often take decades for those to appreciate to a price that gains them a small profit.
      While few will "liquidate" their silver (or gold) collection in the case of a zombie apocalypse, more often, it will be handed down to the kids, etc., or sold en masse at a later date, precious metals, if you are seeking a profit, have much more in common with stocks than other collectibles like stamps, baseball cards or comics.
      They are a long game, not a short game, and will appreciate over a long time, following the valleys and troughs that stocks also follow over decades of holding them.
      Nor can everyone become "a banker" or "a broker" for numerous reasons (including the higher education needed to enter that field and the personality needed to succeed.) Just like not everyone can become a doctor, engineer or architect. Some people's brains are just not wired that way.
      Just another way of looking at it. Cheers.

    They are becoming more popular and looked for ,in my area anyway my local Lcs pays 5% over spot and sells for 10% over spot also several online dealers pay very good prices for 40% , all this being said you do need to stack a bit of it no less than $100.00 fv . With 40% it’s all about weight , the more you have the better price you will get .

    To be fair, SLV and other paper forms of silver are not silver, they are an options trade meant to satisfy the lust for commodity trader-types to ride the waves of the fluctuating price of the actual silver. Only a dummy would "stack" paper silver. There are cheaper forms of paper out there.

    Silver Jewelry is the worst.. I bought a 999 silver Cuban link chain.. A heavy one and it was way overpriced compared buying bullion. I wanted the chain though and I planned getting a gold one too. I been collecting bullion for awhile now and finally bought a chain.

      I have been looking at a big 999 silver cuban link chain every day since I started stacking! Haven't pulled the trigger yet but I will one day for sure

    I enjoy your videos, but there was just too much talking for each "specimen". So after watching for about 8 minutes I just forwarded it to the end to see where you had them all listed. Sorry about that.
