Amazing work. I been trying to get back into hockey and wasn’t really sure what to buy to get back into it. These kinds of videos help so much
Greatest video ever I can’t stop showing my family and friends thank you so much for what you do for the hockey Community and I recently got the jetspeed and I love and again thank you
Thank you very much!
Hockey Tutorial no need it’s the least I could do for how much better you got me on the ice and off
Could you please elaborate on why you prefer the jetspeed even though it would seem the ribcore is best for you ? Thanks, I think I might be just like you
Loved the on-ice video, more of that in all videos please!
Good job man i also use the Jetspeed now and i use the Trigger2 as well.I like to change stick in the game depends of the Game style .
Thats a pretty cool idea.
Very good video guys! I picked up a AS1 last month and so far it beats my old Sherwood ek60. Even for wristers and quick release shots.
tl:dr 3 types of sticks for different types of shooters
ribcore: low kick, quickest release
super tacks: mid kick point, most power behind shots (slapshots, one timers)
Jetspeed: Variable Kick Point (kick point changes depending on where you put your bottom hand) balanced stick not really specializing in either quick release or power
Can you do bauer and warrior
Although when i spoke to these stick professionals, he told me that nowadays these sticks are so versatile and many-sided, like chris said, you can take snappers and wristers on the supertacks. I were really skeptical about the ribcor stick about slapshot since its low kick. But it all breaks down to technique and your shooting style. When on mid kicks you usually lean into shots with donkey kick, and on low kicks you basically just shoot it.
@@gregorylianos5099
Supreme, high kick, - one T, clapper, heavy power wrist shots (similar to tacks)
Nexus - true mid kick - arcuracy, decent power with maybe a slightly quicker release than Supreme (similar to Jetspeed somewhat)
Vapor- very low kick point with a great snap. Foams in the blade and carbon layering in the taper allows the best quick release feel in the game. The stick sometimes feels stiff because it bends below you rather than in or between your hands.
Ribcore - low kick - quick release but tends to snap a touch higher than a Vapor or a Covert, I find there's a little more to load into with the ribcore as opposed to most low kick sticks, tends to be very durable for a top end stick
Covert is low, very similar to vapor
Alpha is a mid-low, maybe a touch higher than how the ribcore seems to kick, great all around stick if you already have a hard shot and maybe wanna release the Puck a little quicker
Dynasty was a true mid kick but they most recent stick in that series was the HD1
Saul M do you think a as1 would be good for wristshots as well
@@jordan8148 for sure it is, especially if you pull back and really load into it. If you want a lot of juice and you can shoot, Supreme is great, if you want a quicker release to maybe fool the goalie, go vapor
Thank You for the video, it was very informative and you covered it good & got to the important facts. Please keep them coming, GREAT job n Thanks again.
After watching your video about those 3 sticks, I settled for one of these(the jetspeed). I couldn't be any happier! I didn't think that a stick could make so much of a difference. Being a defenseman, I imroved the speed, accuracy and velocity of my shot. Thanks for your advice. (M. G., Qc., Canada)
What did you have prior ? :)
Good vid bud. I loved the highlights on the ice where a player shoots and what stick is recommended.
great videos guys, keep it up! super helpful.
Best explanation, and very clear, thanks.
Also, you speak noticeably slower in this video than usual - excellent!!
I had to think really hard while making this :) I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the feedback and kind words
great video very helpful!! thanks for making these
Great informative video! However when you're buying a new stick, especially a high end one, I wouldn't base my decision solely around where I like to take my shots from and what kinds of shots I usually take. I think puck feel, flex and mostly the blade profile is way more important. Because if you have the technique, you can get off a great slap shot with a low kick stick as well.
Look at Connor McDavid as an example. He uses the Super Tacks 2.0 (at least last season he did) and he doesn't necessarily score on a lot of slapshots.
I think personal preference is the most important thing, and definitely don't choose your 250 dollar stick based on its looks 😝
“When you look at these different sticks they look different” thanks
instaBlaster...
this was more helpful and informative than what i had to watch at work.
Glad we could help!
It’d be great if you could do warrior sticks. I having trouble picking which one is for me.
Great vid. pls maybe for a future vid can u compare the AS1 to the 2S PRO pls.
My first low kick point stick was the warrior qrl , I didn't like it , then switched to the jetspeed , it's great but once I've had my hand on the as1 I've fallen in love with it ! I'm waiting for my new trigger 3D but now I know I'm more a mid kick fan
Please do Bauer I need help for finding a new stick!
Torn between buying a new CCM Tacks stick and Bauer 2s Stick. The higher kick point on the 2s is appealing. I've used vapor and nexus sticks in the past.
Review all the true stick plz btw great vid keep it up
I’m trying to find the CCM AS1. Every hockey shop I go to they either have sold out or they don’t have it in my flex
Thanks for uploading!
Very welcome! Thank you for watching.
Can you do the same with bauer sticks ?? Thanks chris and meep up the great work :D
Supreme = Supertacks
Vapor = Ribcor
Nexus = Jetspeed
@@Licensedbeast Exactly. I was just about to post the same thing.
Actually tacks is Nexus and Rbz is Supreme and Trigger is Vapor
@@braedenbannister76 No it's not. Go away. RBZ doesn't exist anymore.
@@Licensedbeast Spot on chap! haha
I would appreciate a video on true or warrior sticks. Thanks
I’m an offensive defenseman and part of that is skating up with the puck so what stick would you recommend for that
Super tacks as1 vs Bauer Supreme 2s pro
Which one's is better for huge slap shots
Great video. Thank you
Whoa, a British guy doing a hockey video!? That threw me off. Great video though. I'm just getting back on the ice after many years and these new variations of composite sticks are fairly new to me. First time I've seen it explained, well done!
2 instead of 3 but can you do the same thing between the True XC9 ACF and A6.0 SBP/HT
Great video very informative, Bauer next would be awesome
Maybe we'll have it ready for Wednesday night. See what happens :)
Do s video like this but warrior sticks
Can you please show what the difference is between different skate blade radius are
I just bought a CCM Tacks Vector Pro stick which is not the Super Tacks featured in your clip. Can you please tell me which category does it fit in based on your research please? Many thanks!
How does the AS1 compare to the super tacks? Not the 2.0 but the first one. I enjoy mid kick of the super tacks as it's lower than the supreme one but it seems like the AS1 moved up the kick point?
Can you do the same video about Warrior sticks ?
Where would I fit in, I normally shoot in the super tack and jet speed range
Hey, I'd just like your opinion, but as a defenseman who likes to use his slapshot and one timers alot, which stick would you recommend me buying?
Can you plz do true sticks next thanks and I love your vids
Then we have the flex... Is a higher flex Ribcore stiffer than a lower flex Super tack? How does that change the variable and feel of the sticks? I'd love to spend hours and hours on the ice to find out the perfect balance and stick for me, but unfortunately I can't so maybe someone with experience can chime in? :) Thanks for the excellent information in the video.
I’m a forward and I use the as1 but I love to use it for snap shots my then the jet speed and witch stick is the best for a forward. You should make a video on that “witch stick is the best for a forward”
I have a super tacks and I got a five goal game all from the ribcore zone
i have been playing hockey for 5 years and i use a wooden stick. should i upgrade to composite?
Ribcor is my baby, I got the 65k grip, perfect for me, I like those quick, close shots, thnx!
Hi! i play left forvard whick stick do you think is the best for me? 55 flex
It helps a lot and makes u understand a lot but (It’s All About Preference)
Can you please do the same with Bauer sticks
I am a defenseman, and I am looking at the CCM ribcor Trigger 3d pmt. Do you think that is a good option for a defenseman?
Can you do this for warrior sticks please?
Thanks for this chris, could you do a bauer range video? :)
Sure can! Give us 2-3 days.
What is the rbz again? i know bauer sticks in and out but never used a ccm in my life.
I am a sniper I like hanging around the right circle and I got the ribcor and it has been performing really well for me like better than what Chris recommended id get so sticks are more preferable in my opinion and ik someone who is an in front of the net grinder who has the jetspeed so if you can try the sticks out and see if it feels good with the shots that you take
can u do a ccm tasks 2.0 and a Bauer vapor 1 Xbox lite 700
With Thea sticks which one is the lightest
Hey Chris - will you be attending the Minnesota Let's Play Hockey Expo again in 2019? We live in the twin cities area and my 6 year old son wants to meet you
I had my CCM SUPER TACKS AS1 for about a month i love it but my glove wore some of the paint and grip of in just one game. i was kind of disappointed in the durability considering the price.
Do this for true plsss
can you do a warrior covert qrl pro reveiew
Can you try out like blade wax vs no wax
I could really do with you guys doing some reviews of leg guards in the near future
Protective is a difficult subject. We'll give this a think.
Can you do one for warrior?
can you please do Bauer sticks?
What about the True hockey sticks??
Funny that this may be true with the current lines, but the original RibCor line when they first switched from Reebok to CCM is the best slap-shot stick I've ever used as a defenseman. The blade was suuper stiff and had little feel but man it dished out the hardest shots I've ever taken from the blue line. It's also indestructible because I still use it three years and dozens of games since I bought it. Gonna suck when it breaks bc it's the old Crosby curve that they don't make anymore :'(
I’m 161 lbs with flex should I get 65 or 78 ? I’m a foward with the as2
great video
Does the "type" of stick changes when you go down from the high end sticks? i.e. is a high end Tack for the same type of play VS. an entry level Tack?
all models still have the same kick points, the only difference between high end sticks, and all the others is materials used.
I have the tacks 9060 is it the same as the super tacks
Also remember shaft dimensions:
Trigger: square, traditional shaft dimensions, rounded corners and straight sidewalls
Super tacks: almost same as trigger but more rounded shaft, better puck feel
Jetspeed: anatomical type of shaft, top and bottom of the shaft is convex and both sides are concave, really natural feel for the stick
Do one for Bauer please!!
Love your videos very informative. Even though I've been playing ice hockey most of my life can you go over the LIE of a stick I always get confused on the differences of each lie
It's the angle between the blade and shaft
On it! Give us a couple weeks to figure out the video style
Do the same thing for Warrior please. Cheers from Atlantic Canada
Mike Creamer covert low kick and alpha mid kick
Can you do one on warriors please
Pls next video do 1x lite vs 2n pro vs 2s pro or 1s if you guys even have the 2s pro
Working on this. Yes we have the 2s Pro.
@xDavexCA it's the same idea but the sticks offer something different with everyone. Ribcore is low, but I would consider Vapor and warrior covert as ultra-low VS a ribcore. Jetspeed tells the same story as nexus but the kick point works a hinge effect, a little different than the nexus
i like the 2s
xDavexCA
Ribcor=Vapor
Tacks=Nexus
JetSpeed=Nexus ADV
i am a defenseman who likes to take snap and slap shots the most. i have a tacks stick so is this making my snap shot worse. thanks and great video!
Thanks for watching
2 questions...is it the same thing for the low end stick of the ribcore, jetspeed and tacks?! or those features are only for the 300$ stick?! and for example, is it better for a less powerful player to use the ribcore because of his low kick point? or that is just a question of flex in the stick
Keith Pelletier the kick points on the sticks are the same. The stiffened and softened spots are pretty identical.
The main difference are the materials that are in the stick. The High end ones are packed with the lightest and most advanced Carbon Fibre and the lower (in price points) you go, the heavier the sticks will get. Also the lower end and middle class sticks may not be available in maybe a 95 Flex. The lower ones are mostly available in 85 Flex but that may change depending on the country you live in
Ok can someone tell me what kind an rbz 380 is
for whatever it is worth. as you mentioned in the video. these are just guidelines. I have experience with the Ribcore and the RBZ (previous to jet speed) pro stock sticks. I am an overweight beer league defence-man. average hockey player, and I found the Ribcore to be my best option. even though 90% of my shots are full wind up slap shots. My theory is that myself at a full slap shot (even as overweight as i am) am applying the same amount of force/flex as a pro player would probably apply to a snap shot, thus i get the best response out of the "snap shot / low kick stick" just curious if you have any thoughts on this theory.
That would depend on the flex, not the kick point
Hey bud... might want to look up the codes on your pro stock sticks as they are custom and typically “dressed as” another model.
*Agreed @M Smith depends on the flex but kick points matter too 👍
*edited. I’ll try to find the link for stick manufacturers codes.
What about warrior sticks??
Do Warrior sticks
Nice, this same for all of the commonly available ones:) Bauer,Warrior, Easton, Sherwood :) This is the manufacturers that should be explaining this, not a youtube channel, but apparently they have no idea what is it like to be their customer...
We won't do Easton but I think Bauer, Warrior and True will be next (in that order)
I also had the RBZ
Do same video but with Bauer
What about the weight of these?
Ccm super tacks 2.0 is my favorite stick right now maybe I should try an AS1
The stiffness and feel of the 2.0's blade is what I love. Favourite stick I've used in years.
Sherwood please!
Example of nhl players for each stick line would be great
Love this idea! Little tricky to make but we’ll make it happen.
kaka kaka Kinda hard to figure out who truly uses one of these and not just a different stick dressed as another.
Very solid point!@@kekkonenprkl
@@kekkonenprkl I was thinking this cause McDavid uses a supertacks but he definitely doesnt take alot of slapshots
@@Theory-T McDavid doesn't use a super tacks his stick is definitely wrapped
Can you do the same comparison for ccm’s skates?

Hockey Tutorial Thank you very much!
i miss the rbz line because of the grip and curve
Do the same type of vid but for warrior
I have the CCM ribcore but the bottom of the shaft is not curved in..
Is it pro stock?
Bauer please
which would be most similar to a 1x lite?
UNDL_nosnipes the Ribcor, as both are low kickpoint sticks
Ribcor
I just make mine from plywood at Home Depot. Bout 65flex . I got 2goals ,7assists this season. Highly recommend
Dawud Charlton 😂😂😂😂
I have the jet speed
I’m kinda confused because Connor McDaniel uses a super tacks bit it seems like he plays close to the net
I think it’s either a jetspeed or ribcore dressed as a super tack
@@colinreidy7458 Mcdavid was using a Jetspeed before so i guess its a Jetspeed dressed as a super tack
I think it’s because McDavid likes to get a lot of power on his wrist shot when he’s shooting from a far, he is using the super tacks 2.0 dressed as a super tacks, and he also likes to load up shots when he can
He uses a Jetspeed
if i cant get the exact flex im looking for is it better to be under or over?
say im looking for a 90 flex but the stick im looking at only comes in 85 or 100 which would be better
@@milkywilliams7543 it is up to preference. Do you like a stick to give your more power on the recoil or something easy to load
Personally I would go under but it really depends on how you shoot and what you prefer. I use to use 85 and had to use a 75 while testing prototypes. Now I only use 75.
what about the revaluation
what about rbz
What model do you recommend for a centerman? Those low kick points seem detrimental to winning faceoffs and corner battles.
what in the world are you talking about? its not a noodle.
@@Subaruuu12 Once you've got some adult muscles you'll learn that the stick can bend like a noodle when the opposing force is not moving.
@@AnEvolvingApe Im 31, and have been playing hockey for over 20years. Your ignorant bender comment is hilarious though.
@@Subaruuu12 Huh? I think you've take a puck to the head at one point.
@@AnEvolvingApe Your question is retarded. A low kick point stick isnt gonna fold under you. What do you use a youth 25flex?
