I’m not sure if you are a praying man but spending time with Jesus while you would normally eat is a great reason to fast along with the health benefits. It also gives fasting a greater purpose. Love your videos! If you continue fasting you should try a 7-10 day water only, it’s amazing the stuff that comes out of your body on day 6 and 7.
Thanks for this video, I do 3 day water fast every other week, I think it is almost magic at least for me. I'm 40, do crossfit classes 4 to 5 days a week. It makes me feel great.
Hey Josh, in second full day of three plus day fast here now.. looking forward to 11 am eastern friday,, going with bacon and eggs with a little avocado, cant wait! 💪🏽🤙🏽
Josh you have been in the military and crossfit you use words that can help people and motivate them and your wife is part of your team and you are part her team all those experiences you have gone through helps and you sharing this is helpful for us I love to listen and watch this videos I also tell my kids to try things and have experiences great job again.
Thanks for share your experience, sounds very hard but the result is good. I don’t know if 3 days but one day can be interesting and for me challenging enough
I'm at my mid second day of fasting and I am doing great. Yesterday (first day) was terrible. I wanted to destroy everything around me. However, for now I have zero fatigue, zero headache or any struggles whatsoever. Let's see the way I will feel tomorrow (last day). But I won't deny that the only things I am thinking is eggs and garlic 🤤
I've done 72 hour fast and the first time went really well and the second time I failed a little before 48 hours and that was mentally really hard because I felt like I failed. When I'm fasting, water is definitely a good way to go. You do need to be careful not to over hydrate. Bone broth is really nice as first meal.
Reading the title I thought you were not drinking water for 3 days haha. What do you specifically take for electrolytes? I've just been starting a few 24 hour fasts and liking it so far. The next step is a 48 or 72 but nervous how I'll do when it comes to my job which is very physical
Ppl do 48hr fasts dry-no water.. I do regular 3-5 DAY water fasts and 24hr dry portions of it-no water, continue training.. Pretty incredible how amazing our bodies are..
I enjoyed your video. I am always fasting up to 20 hr but never got very long without eating . I was planning on doing longer fasts but for for us ladies I believe it will have different challenges and the body will react differently based on our time of the month we decide to fast . Our hormones behave differently than men and we for sure will have different challenges. Anyways, I am glad your wife did it with you and you gave us some feedback from her experience as well. I was interested to hear you talk about your workout experience right after the fast. Did you feel more energetic or did you feel your muscles less capable to do the job or was it the opposite? At times, I feel that if I take a longer break, my joints are so happy but my strength feels a bit off but not always. Anyways, how did you feel doing your first workout after this long pause ? thanks.
I loved this episode, I currently do the monk fast once a week which is 36 hours. This makes the 36 hours easier as there are 2 sleeps through it. I normally do this for 8-12 weeks and then have 4 weeks off and eat normally. I definitely feel some benefit even if it is me walking around lighter 😂
You should have worked out atleast a little during the fast. Yes protein synthesis stops while you’re fasting but working out counters that and activates protein synthesis. Dr Peter Attia talks about the importance of working out during a fast.
I fast for days and workout hard everyday its a whole different world mentally. Its a lifestyle fasting and working out, all glory to the lord, water is a fasters best friend.
Coffee increases blood sugar, so it is a no go during fasting. It increases adrenaline, wich in turn makes your liver dump a little bit of stored glycogen into the blood stream. Coffee breaks both a fast and ketosis.
Congrats, never done a 3 day. But for the last 10 years, i have done IF most days for anything between 16-24hrs, av 18hrs. When it suites i prefer to train fasted but doesn't usually fit in unless i train at the weekend. I love IF for balancing weight, don't believe all the claims, but makes my life easy

Curious about the electrolytes as well. Did you use a specific electrolyte tab or just salt?
Awesome video! Very informative and interessting. Have been considering a 24hr fast once every month. Any thought?
Do it. You can do 3 day fasts once a month safely if you want.
What type of electrolytes did you put in your water? Just salt, or did you use a mix like LMNT? Thanks

How are you getting electrolytes? Are you using a certain powder or homemade?
I do alot of fasting. Dont do 24hr, easier to do 36hr (just sleep fasted the night of the 24hr, then eat followng morning
What bone broths do you like, or do you make your own? It's confusing with all the ads out there these days! Thanks!
What brand bone broth and electrolytes
good video, im pretty sure you did this as a soldier lol the mind is the drill sargent lol
I do 72 hour ones often. Improved energy and clarity. Senses heightened.
Do you drink black coffee during your fasts ?
@@andythompson4448 yes. I wait at least 2 hours after waking so the sleep hormone during night is done. ACV sparkling water is great to feel full.
@@andythompson4448 Coffee breaks your fast, since it increases blood sugar.
It is also made out of beans, wich is a food.
@@jonatanolsen37 coffee doesn't break fast when in moderate amounts
Fasting makes me feel great!
Josh seems like the guy that wears a Good Dudes shirt for a VLOG.
Did you still do your cold plunge?
What electrolytes did you drink?
What list of carbs do you eat?

This comment was more than likely brought to by someone with no where near the physique as Josh!

Обязательно попробую !!! 🤙🏽🇷🇺
I usually do this before starting the carnivore diet.
160 pounds looking like the Hulk. Crazy.
He is like 5ft tall 😂

Coffee without sugar or milk does not increase blood sugar, do not spread misinformation
Bridges is a SEAL. Dude has mental fortitude we cannot fathom.

Y tho???
No wonder homeless love forever. They’re always fasting.
Does a water fast for a mental challenge?? 🥹 It's amazing. Goggins is somewhere yelling in your favor and Jocko just goes... Checkkk
Wayyy more than mental challenge benefits doing longer fasts...
