    Its really cool to see the 3D print community. But im a guy that is looking at how "real" guns are made. Not that 3D printed ones are unreal. But you get the idea. :P
    Im looking at vacuum casting steel parts like trigger pieces. And im not looking at how to machine an aluminum wax mold. So i can use that to make the plaster mold for the steel casting. Thats how they do the gunparts you put in your 3D print!! So yeah, once ive got all the good stuff, ill look to see if i can bring you guys the technology. I already did a study on how to make barrels, and its online, its on grabcad. Also how to make ammunition from scratch. The only thing is. You do need a lathe and a mill at the very least, and you need to make a kiln... and a muffling kiln.. Well the reward is that you can make top of the notch firearms, and that is the piece you put on your 3D print..
    Yeah, just so you know, i want to keep guns an option to anyone that really wants to have it. Because i think a free world needs that. Love it of hate it. Im not going into politics of course. :) Thats how people stay happy. :D
    Greetings,
    Jeff

    A suggestion: for states like Washington that arguably require a chunk of stainless for self-printed DIY stuff, why not make the weight section on your chungus style designs capable of having that brick of stainless.

    • @booliganshootingsports
      @booliganshootingsports  3 года назад +1

      Does the WA language actually require stainless steel, or just a certain mass of metal equivalent to 3.7oz of stainless? That's how the federal statute is written. If that's the case, this will fit about 4 oz of tungsten even in this single weight channel.

    • @GunFunZS
      @GunFunZS 3 года назад

      @@booliganshootingsports I thought it was mirroring the federal, mass equivalency in a metal detector with undefined settings gibberish. However, The last time I looked into it, I found that I was wrong, and they had a specific requirement for an engraved block of SS being integral to printed or other DIY plastic guns. The point was mostly to make a P80 unmarketable, and they impose criminal liability on the seller of the kit if it ends up in a felon in possession of a... situation. I'll try to find the statute later if you are interested in this. I do want to make a clear directive whitepaper for how a WA citizen can comply (if they want to). I have a license on the line, so I will keep my descriptions general until I do the homework and proper legal analysis. When I do so, I'll use my name, and stick a license on it. I keep this account seperate from my professional stuff. Is there an email addy on your website I could send that to when I get it done? WA law on firearms stuff is mostly free state, but recent ramdowns have mostly served to make the rules confusing- and that's for me as a legal beagle. In the end you can still do most of what you want, but they make it seem like you can't. Non compliance is near 100% for some of the law that passed in the last decade. It's just confusing and impractical and no one, including LE can believe the law actually says what it does. So they just ignore. (Referring to the specific mechanics of what constitutes an unlawful transfer since circa 2013 or 2014?)
      For metal frame DIY, you can definitely still do it, but they impose retroactive liability if a felon ends up in possession to the maker, and to the seller of the supplies. They make it seem as though there is a marking requirement, and that that marking has to go through a 4473, but there is no process to transfer a DIY item via 4473 when you follow the process tree, and also the marking can't get into a search or into their recording structure without a transfer... It's a circular logic loop. However, on close application, DIY with metal receiver needn't have the markings, unless it transfers, or retroactively ends up in felon hands. It's always legal until it never was....

    • @GunFunZS
      @GunFunZS 3 года назад

      @@booliganshootingsports apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.010 subsections 33 and 35 are most relevant to this subsection. Without giving full legal analysis, the upshot is that this language is similar to the federal, but addition of some commas and "or" makes it ambiguous whether each subcomponent listed must be individually detectable to that standard. I would argue that the answer is NO, but I would also warn that that someone could be charged under that section, and the other statutes which this definition is for. The markings aspect which (35) sets up is a tricky process to comply. Bottom line You don't need markings unless you transfer it or it ends up in prohibited possessor hands (including by theft). You can't get markings on DIY, that comply. No one who is licenced as a manufacturer is going to want to put his name on a home done hack job, and take all that risk and nonsense on the line, and if you do, then a 4473 has to happen, so it's pointless. So DIY is legal, but you carry risk that it can become retroactively illegal if someone else gets your gun.
