Not bad buses these Scania Omnilinks. These however have the different ZF HP gearbox, most in the UK are fitted with the Tuneless Scania ZF Gearbox, you can find an Omnilink like this in the UK with Arriva Midlands
More? I know a Brighton & Hove Mechanic, who has worked on buses all his working life. He tells me, that Brighton & Hove Buses, are now using cheap, nasty truck engines in many of the new buses. To my mind, as a bus is a public transport vehicle, it must have lots of power, with plenty in reserve. This is because lots of power is a safety feature, and can get you out of trouble. Accountants say, "Must be cheap", I say, "Safety comes first, the passenger not only must feel safe, but "Be Safe"!
Mooie, and finally, I can truly comment on a bus that I know well, because this type, Brighton has been using for almost 2years now! This bus is built in Poland, and if anything like the Brighton & Hove type (single door), even the paint is Polish. Ask any Brighton & Hove Bus Driver what is their opinion of these, they nearly all say "Hate them", or "Rubbish". These are the people who use them for a living! B&H's are used as Shuttle Service Route 50, seats to hard, not enough leg room! Oops!
