I am so charmed by Taylor Swift...she has a wonderful respect for the artists that touched her as she grew up. Dave Grohl describes her knowing the piano part for one of his tunes at a party at Paul McCartney's...and he needed the help because all the guitars were left handed. She popped into his tune with naming the title and he flipped when he realized she had it nailed.
Shawn Colvin had Emmylou, Stevie Nicks, Joni, Bonnie Raitt....and now Shawn gets to usher the next generation in. The thrill Taylor Swift must have had to be on stage with this incredible song writer (Shawn) who inspired her so much. So awesome.
You know, it's too bad that the majority of the people writing comments aren't as classy as these two are. Why so much hate? Why did you come here? Nobody forced you to watch, listen, or comment. If you are a fan of Taylor, she is paying homage to one of her idols, and maybe introducing them to some music they were unaware of, and possibly generating them some income from album/song sales. If you are a fan of Shawn, then be happy that someone as popular as Taylor Swift is helping them out. No bad can come from this for Shawn.
Wow. New Respect for Taylor Swift.! I thought that that was so extraordinary and well deserved of Shawn Colvin. I had never really been a Taylor Swift fan, but she has grown on me and her graciousness, generosity, her political Stance.... and she just happen to bring Shawn Colvin up to sing one of my most favorite songs. Great woman!
