We also got the best Reigen moment in the entire show having him admit everything to Mob that he already knew about deep down but denied because he wouldn't believe his master was that type of person.
They literally introduced a character that had like 10 seconds of screen time during season 1, in the second half of the final season, and they did it so well it felt like he’d been there the entire time.
I think it felt that way because ONE and Bones managed to drive home the point of the story by somehow making every side character be the MC of their own life, so I could imagine Takenaka just being there the whole time with his own problems. He also showed up in the background in S2. Tsubomi’s a good example too. It was only in S3 that we got some hints of what’s in her mind and those made me like her character more (even with just the sneeze alone).
I watched mob psycho with my dad and he LOVED it. He didn’t really like it in the beginning but as the story started to pick up and the seasons ended he started to ask me “when’s the next season come out?” When we finished the final episode he turned to me and went “is that it?” I was like “yeah” and he told me that if there was nothing else coming he was pretty satisfied with where it ended, which is something he’s never said to me before. It’s such a good anime bro. As much as I wish there was more of it, I’m happy it ended where it ended.
It’s because Mob Psycho is just well written and tells a very relatable story. It’s funny because I feel most manga/anime suffers from trying to adhere to the culture it comes from instead of simply telling stories.
its kind of a 'rely on your friends' ending too but with more... tactic too it. the madlad maneuvered things to make SURE that those with the best chance of improving the world ended up where they needed to be and were protected.
And that's ONE of the reasons why Mob Psycho 100 is ONE of my favourite series of all time. Also, Code Geass is another perfect treasure, that ending was just perfection.
Code Geass ending is so good that you forget Lelouch almost got revealed by a Cat. And don't forget the pizza episode, i know for a fact Pizza hut spent a lot of money on that episode
@@maestroplay6563 Everyone shits on those episodes but I love 'em, a cat almost ruining Lelouch's masterplans is hilarious, Arthur was such a huge troll.
I loved that it was reigen who managed to bring mob to his senses. I think mob actually knew reigen was not a psychic the whole time, but it was him admitting it to mob that had an impact. Seeing reigen confront a side of himself that he wasnt proud of and then accepting it.
He knew reigen wasn't a psychic, somewhere in the episode his depressed version actually says to himself "how long are you going to pretend, this man is full of lies".

I remember the day the Soul Eater finale came out - I was already thrown off because they just completely abandoned the plot from the manga but that ending KILLED me. I’d never been more devastated by a punch.
I was so infuriated by the ending I turned off my pc and went to bed, I was just that annoyed with the ending never had I wished more to have never gotten invested in the anime
I just don't know how it came to this. There was nothing leading to it. It was like the final episode was for a different series. There was buildup to something completely else in the episodes prior. I once read that all of the writers from the show left or got fired before they got to write the last episode. No idea if it's true or not but it would make sense to me

After reading a manga with the worst ending ever, Mob Psycho was a breath of fresh air such a beautifully concluded story that made me cry rivers just by seeing the main character laugh
@@mirarman yeah I did find it a little weird that no one talked about how mob destroyed a part of the city and probably killed some people. I guess its implied no one was hurt somehow
I loved that it WAS about the power of friendship but in a way that fit with the themes of the work. Mob learns about connecting with people and opening up. It's not just 'power of friendship' with no build up, that's the whole anime!
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood handles power of friendship in a satisfying way as well. They still struggle greatly and set plans in motion to actually beat the main villain, but the support of his friends actually helps Edward Elric realize things about himself
The final mob psycho episode had me tearing up throughout and at the end. I thought going into it we had one more but nope, that was it and boy it hit hard. Glad I rewatched the previous seasons right before 3 started. What a banger series.
I literally am watching this video after just finishing the final mob pscho episode and by far I gotta say one of my most favorite anime endings for how it tackles alotta feelings I had throughout the show and Kageyama's journey... personally I feel like the wrapping up of loose ends was nice but leaving his story open ended in such a way is very relatable and throughout the series run had so many beautiful real hard hitting moments as far as story telling goes "Mob Psycho" one of the best animes of them all
The show is literally a masterpiece it perfectly balances its action, comedy and emotional scenes. The characters are all s tier and well written such a fantastic world and story built by one very satisfying ending.
God yes I am so glad that BONES got to adhere to ONE's actual writing and showcase how actually beautiful his stories are. I'd been reading the manga and oh man... seeing the ending then was just as intensely emotional as seeing it now. This series means so much to me, and the fact that ONE treated it with the respect to wrap it up is more inspiring than anything.
BONES put a lot of love into Mob Psycho 100. Every opening is like an homage to animation, and despite the fact that ONE told them to not be a slave to the source material, they did a wonder at adapting it
This and JoJo part 6 (which Netflix did not do a good job advertising) have really great endings. Honestly this has been a pretty good season for anime.

I'm SO glad you mentioned Soul Eater! It's my all time favorite anime and I NEED it to get a Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood style remake that includes all the great stuff missing from the Manga
sadly I don't see it working out with today's industry. It'd have to be 12 episode seasons to try to match the style and insane production of the original.
no joke i rewatch the series n unfortunately since the ending was yk.....in the anime I stop where the canon ends in the anime n finish reading the end.. yes its annoying but thats the only way I can actually feel gratitude for the ending.

@@gordemn yea one of my favourite anime of all time simply because it is so simple and no nonsense, no grand ending either just a little lesson of gradual improvement, an epitome for what a slice of life is supposed to be.
Mob Psycho was an anime I saw back when it first started and I thought no one would like it because of the expiremental animation. I loved it and couldn't find anyone to talk to about it. So happy it blew up and grew such an amazing Fandom. I also love the fact that the show shows that nothing will ever be perfect, even something sad like denial can be seen as a good thing when Mob finally shows he can accept himself for who he is. The whole cast of characters has something to love. The fitness club students provided some of the most wholesome scenes I've ever seen in an anime. Truly an amazing overall experience for anyone questioning if they should watch it.
the mob psycho ending was so good, had me lowkey tearing up the dimple fight which started to solidfy his ideals and having to lose one of the only people who you connected with in a long time the mini school and ufo arc, which almost felt like a celebration of everything mob but with him still slowly accepting himself and the final fight, my god what beautiful sequence seeing mob laugh and cry at the end made me feel so happy, hope we get more endings like this
Fr, the Entire show is about Mob 100%, but when it shows me Kageyama Shigeo 100% makes me Cry with smile bro, Shigeo truly accepts that mob is just Part of him
Nothing will beat the ending of Boku no Pico though. It's a story about someone _different_ looking for people similar to him and eventually finding 2 people perfect for him and they all end up peeing on the sidewalk.
Thank you for saying this. I’ve always held this opinion. Even some of my favorite anime’s have horrible endings. They almost never give enough time to wrap things up and it feels incredibly rushed and unsatisfying. I’ve only really seen 2 or 3 anime’s where I think, “Wow, that was a great ending.”
Yeah I agree but I didn’t think that mob psycho ending was good it was alright imo that’s it. I don’t know if you watched if you think it was a good ending I would love to hear your POV

Thankfully the soul eater manga concluded a lot better than the anime. For all the fun wacky writing the conclusions can never seem to get nailed down with so many shows. Either they get dragged out and lose their potential, get rushed af or just don't get another season at all. Anime like Mob Psycho 100, Gintama, Eureka 7 and Fruits Basket 2019 are sadly always the exception. Telling the best story you can at the best pace is always the way forward. No need to drag it out or cut up content for easy profits. I find that only in recent years are we now seeing that happen more frequently with more passion project anime adaptations popping up. I don't think it's cuz the industry really improved per se, but more so that the market has just grown so big that naturally we're seeing more good shows being produced as a ripple effect
Wonder egg priority is also another example of a good anime that had a really bad ending (or last few episodes in this case). I don't want to spoil too much but basically this girl goes to a world where she has to protect this other girl who came out of an egg and any damage done to her in this world she can heal instantly so she's basically a memorial here but when she goes back to the real world any damage she sustained affects her in the real world (so for instance if she got a cut on her arm it would heal instantly but once she wakes up in the real world the cut on her arm would appear and start bleeding) and wow this is a cool concept and was a great show that even had some pretty good trans representation, I wouldn't watch it past episode 7 or 8. Everything past that is actual garbage and it was so bad that they made an entire new special episode because people hated the first ending so much but the special episode sucked too because the majority of it was just a recap.
okay this is well..... it never hit "good" for me anyway but was obs worse in the ending, either way 6/10 overall I would say since the art/animation at least was good/fun edit: for me anyway to be "good" it has to have at least an "ok" ending if you want numbers lets say 5/10 (hope this makes sense)
That was cuz of production issues and one of the staff members was even hospitalized twice because of how bad the working conditions were. Really huge shame I haven’t seen much anime tackle the topics WEP did so well in the first 7 episodes then it just dropped the ball straight to hell. In another life Japanese workplaces aren’t hellholes and maybe we’d get less incidents like WEP
Thanks to your comment I impulsively went and watched Wonder Egg the past 4 hours. And the ending was just as bad as I'd thought. This is a problem I see with a lot of anime in general in their endings. For the first 90% of the series, the writing is fairly coherent, maybe a few lines of pretentious dialogue get thrown out there, but overall nothing is too confusing or convoluted. Then in the last 10% the series just throws in 20 new plot points and every philosophical sounding phrase in the book without them actually meaning anything to the story, like I can't tell you how many times the last 10 minutes of a series finale was just the characters saying deep words pretending their so deep and enlightened for no reason, all because the writers obviously just want to sound smart or something. Someone, anyone, tell me I'm wrong.
@@noe4354 They did the recap because they didn't have as they didn't have the episode ready for the release so they cut some shit together as a recap. Honestly if someone were to watch wonder egg just watch it until the recap and then make an ending up yourself. You'll be having a nice, emotional, beautifully made anime with an ok ending. The stuff the producers shoehorned in at the end was atrocious. It still makes me mad thinking about it.
Me and my friends have an unspoken rule of not bringing up anime endings because we end up going on huge rants about how they could’ve done them so much better.
I've spent 3 days straight on a coke(sniff sniff) high discussing every anime ending we know with my friends seriously even without the stuff I think I could still go a day lmao
Mob Psycho 100 was a masterpiece. The massive character growth from Mob holding in his emotions to finally accepting himself and showing his true self was beautiful. 10/10
Mob really is something special when in the same medium, you have something popular like Promised Neverland, where the manga concluded and they didn’t find any reason to adapt the full story, so it got a rushed conclusion with a fan favorite arc being cut. And then there’s something like Mob that doesn’t even sell that well in Japan, but because the staff were passionate about it, it got a full conclusion in a well deserved adaptation that elevates the manga. It’s my favorite anime and it’s too bad that the artstyle is such a hard thing for some people to get around (my best friend dropped it after episode 4 for that lmao) while it’s that specific artstyle that helps contribute to some of the series’ most fluid moments
Hearing so much about Mob Psycho and everyone loving it, I was ready to give it a shot eventually, but after seeing Moist give an incredible review about it, I thought I would watch it as soon as I can. I watched all 3 seasons in the last 4 days, and I will now without a doubt recommend this anime to literally anyone. What an incredible show
Glad you talked about it. Mob Psycho 100 really is a modern classic. The storytelling, the characters, the animation, the music,... Everything is on point. My absolute favorite anime of all time.
I still remember the adrenaline rush from watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood back then. In 40+ episodes, it's plot twists after plot twists after plot twists, and the ending just concludes everything brilliantly. It's not over the top ending but I felt very satisfied.

the Code Geass ending is absolutely beautiful. I agree, it's the best ending I've ever seen to anything. AND it's an anime original. no manga no light novel nothing.
Mob is absolutely a masterpiece from start to finish, a lesson in how to write fantastic character interaction and development. Definitely my number 1 of all time.
I think they should make more anime ending like mob psycho, he doesn't just automatically get the girl he wanted cause he is the main character, the only time mob laughed since episode one was at the very end when he finally accepted who he really is.
My favorite thing about season 3 is that the episode with the best animation is just the characters going for a hike in the mountains. No fights or any action.
Oh my god. Charlie took the words out of my mouth. Every single main character in the show got a conclusion to their story arcs. Dimple's, Reigen's and Mob's story arcs made me cry. I got really attached to them cause they were really well-made characters.
I think that’s one of the major problem with manga-anime adaptations, most manga’s story direction are dictated by the author alone, which gives freedom to the pacing of the story and when it’s going to end. Animes on the other hand, is affected by several factors such as the studio’s schedule, budget, etc. Which just adds a lot of unstable element into how it ends
The source material is already written. This is no excuse for having bad endings lmao. If the manga ending is good and the anime ending sucks, theres zero justification for it.
In theory it is suppose to be like that but mangakas have to deal with the pressure from the editors, while trying to meet deadliles while trying to draw every single week a cohesive and well made story. Its realy stresfull and some people barely come out helthy or well
@@Spice.Melange not just that. Most Manga that got Anime Adaptations are still On-going which means if the Anime has only 12-24 episode max means you should expect there will be no "REAL" ending unless the anime got a "New Season/Sequels" which will take years if its popular enough and also the Manga is still continuing for another 3-4 more years unless it gets "cancelled" cuz of lack of popularity or it doesn't sell enough(Japan Only) and also it has an intense competition so everyday new manga gets on the top of the popular list while the old manga go down the list of next to be canceled list. I read Manga and Watch Anime so I knew what to expect. Unless the Anime is "Original" which means is that its not an adaptation of some existing story from manga, light novel, game, or visual novel, but new work created by a "Studio" which will always have an "Ending".
I would say that a lot of anime suffer from poor endings due to being adapted prior to the manga being finished. At times like those the studio simply make up their ideal end which is often laughable compared to the mangaka's (think Full Metal Alchemist vs Brotherhood).
@@skyhunter2816 The 2005 movie though...the movie that wrapped up the 2003 series really lost me. I enjoyed the animation, music, etc but there were so many problems with the story. Shame the animation suffered sometimes, i think it might be Netflix's fault but i'm not sure, so i'll just say i'm glad they didn't really ruin it :>
I agree with Charlie, ONE (Author/Mangaka) of Mob Psycho 100 managed to wrap up every character and their arcs beautifully and stayed true to its themes till the end and Studio Bones did a great job of adapting it with each season. I was smiling, laughing, crying, and getting hyped for action with each episode. Loved it! What a great conclusion! 🙌
i never expected to get a storyline with the psychic club. that was more wholesome than i thought. i'm glad the tsubomi plotline ended the way it did. it's the best way to end that one.
Without using spoilers, the big scenes with Teru and reigen at the tail end of this season made me cry with exhilaration and joy. It showed me how much I’d come to care about every goofy little character in this amazing series.
I just finished, and wow, I have no words it was beautiful. Mob finally embraced himself the action was amazing. The scene with reigen and tsubomi was incredible. Genuinely just such a good show and ending. I completely agree with you.
Thank you so much for talking about mob psycho because I really couldn't put in the right words to describe its ending how great and some how satisfying it was 🔥🔥and you did it in a great way especially "it made me smile"....very relatable 😅
On the opposite end, Hellsing Ultimate. Amazing awesome show until the very end. Then, loli dracula, de-aging butler, he drinks a nazzie femboy cat-person and ceases to exist for 30 years, then pops back in to drink some granny juice. Roll credits. That sh*t made me start wondering if i'd been eating the wrong gummi bears.
With Soul Eater, I'd highly recommend the manga. The anime splits off from the manga half way through due to the manga still ongoing at the time, and it's a shame that happened because the manga is really good. If anyone liked the Soul Eater anime but not the ending, I'd recommend checking the manga out
My favourite part of the ending was the fact that it revealed Mob had a CHANCE with his crush; she said she is, "Yet to see him in that way", and they're rekindling their friendship by the end of the season. They're both still kids and have their whole lives to form a strong bond and potential realtionship. If love does or doesn't blossom, Mob is mature, ready for it, and is able to move on or tackle the challenges love provides.
In the manga it's translated as "I never saw you in that way". The point is that they should first form a genuine connection with no ulterior motives of eventually ending up together.
He was destined to be rejected however. It makes total sense in the story. If the story is about the struggles of this teenager who, even though has godlike power, still has to go through the same obstacles the other kids do, then he has to be rejected to learn. And for us dudes, being rejected is one of the very fundamental aspects of our growth. Mob's story could not be complete without a rejection that helps him grow further.
Teru who had improve his abilities over 3 seasons still lost to Mob, but actually in a way went toe to toe with him. I love seeing side characters getting this much development.
He DID win against mob. His goal was to save the people, so when he reveals that he put everyone inside orbs, it means he achieved his goal. It also shows growth because it's a very selfless act from a character that used to be an asshat. But of course he didnt beat him in combat cause no one can. Thats why the final boss had to be himself.
I feel like Reigen had the best character development and arc He went from a con-man exploiting mob for profit To a guy who genuinely cared for mob and literally stared death in the eye for him By the end of season 3 my respect for Reigen fucking sky rocketed
As a manga reader of mob( yes i know that sounds) but the couldent have dkne it better for the whole last arch. But yeah reigen could have been done better in the anime, in the manga you get that face if him sooner, but i think they did cut to many scene to show that devolpement for him, and i think it would have hit harder, but yeah i 100% agree.
Mob Psycho is one of just a few anime that was a masterpiece from beginning to end. The only others I can think of were Samurai Shamploo, Monster, FLCL and Cowboy Bebop. You can only end things well if you don't carry them on forever.

Edgerunners had one of the best endings I’ve seen in an anime in a while. It wasn’t by any means a happy one, but it was perfect for the type of world night city is in. Not only that but it’s made all the more impactful after playing 2077
@@ragnarock5043 That’s not an excuse. You can be satirical and still be good writing which in turn literally is not opm. Also the manga fell off. It’s no where near as big as it was back then. Also Mob is a satirical anime as well I don’t see why you’re giving mob the pass and not OPM.
Before writing Soul Eater off completely. I would highly recommend checking out the manga there is a lot more content after episode 36 during Battle for BREW. So much more to the point where there’s an entirely different ending. If you want to give soul eater another try the manga would be the way to go a lot more complete without being rushed.
The manga is top tier. To this day, I’m still massively disappointed that the anime never continued with the actual story. Imo the second half of the manga is where the story started going hard and where the story really picks up, but it sucks that part of the story will just never be animated so we’re just stuck with that dog ass ending for the show.

Thank you for speaking out on this, Charlie. I always felt this when I am watching anime. When years or months of building up to the ending conclude with a terrible, written ending, the series loses its point.

Everything past that is actual garbage and it was so bad that they made an entire new special episode because people hated the first ending so much but the special episode sucked too because the majority of it was just a recap.
okay this is well..... it never hit "good" for me anyway but was obs worse in the ending, either way 6/10 overall I would say since the art/animation at least was good/fun
edit: for me anyway to be "good" it has to have at least an "ok" ending if you want numbers lets say 5/10 (hope this makes sense)
I still to this day cannot understand why they decided to put a recap episode in a 12 episode season....

That depends on what manga anthology they are in. Shonen Jump is really quick to cancel series and the editors are pretty controlling.
Most Manga that got Anime Adaptations are still On-going which means if the Anime has only 12-24 episode max means you should expect there will be no "REAL" ending unless the anime got a "New Season/Sequels" which will take years if its popular enough
and also the Manga is still continuing for another 3-4 more years unless it gets "cancelled" cuz of lack of popularity or it doesn't sell enough(Japan Only) and also it has an intense competition so everyday new manga gets on the top of the popular list while the old manga go down the list of next to be canceled list.

Mob psycho is super rewatchable too now as a while. The show just got better with each season
It's not even hot take, it's just facts
My favourite part of the ending was the fact that it revealed Mob had a CHANCE with his crush; she said she is, "Yet to see him in that way", and they're rekindling their friendship by the end of the season. They're both still kids and have their whole lives to form a strong bond and potential realtionship. If love does or doesn't blossom, Mob is mature, ready for it, and is able to move on or tackle the challenges love provides.
Can't agree more such a great ending
Yeah it was handled well
In the manga it's translated as "I never saw you in that way". The point is that they should first form a genuine connection with no ulterior motives of eventually ending up together.
I loved how at the very end when they surprised reigen, mob actually laughed, not like a giggle but an actual laugh *laugh*
I wish they showed Mogami too near the ending :(

It also shows growth because it's a very selfless act from a character that used to be an asshat. But of course he didnt beat him in combat cause no one can. Thats why the final boss had to be himself.
I feel like Reigen had the best character development and arc
He went from a con-man exploiting mob for profit
To a guy who genuinely cared for mob and literally stared death in the eye for him
By the end of season 3 my respect for Reigen fucking sky rocketed
i've never seen Mob Psycho, but just based off of this comment, Reigen's character arc sounds so unbelievably generic
@@lxmondxmon7662 just cause it's incredibly generic doesn't mean it can be done well

*samurai champloo
tbh when i watch mob psycho, especially the last season it makes me realise things about myself and sort of help me out on what i need to do for myself as a person
I can't describe how sad it was to see promised neverland fall flat after its masterpiece of a 1st season.

Edgerunners had one of the best endings I’ve seen in an anime in a while. It wasn’t by any means a happy one, but it was perfect for the type of world night city is in. Not only that but it’s made all the more impactful after playing 2077
Agreed. Not a great anime, but def something special throughout and it really tried to wrap up the story in an impactful way.

I read the manga some few months back, it was such a banger, that shit is probably in my top 25
So true the manga is so fucking good
The manga was way better. I wish they animated the real Black Star fight that was by the end of the anime.
The manga is top tier. To this day, I’m still massively disappointed that the anime never continued with the actual story. Imo the second half of the manga is where the story started going hard and where the story really picks up, but it sucks that part of the story will just never be animated so we’re just stuck with that dog ass ending for the show.
@@saint6519 im just thankful that the artistic direction the anime went in for followed by the manga
Its not that anime endings are bad it's just that some bad anime endings really stands out with how bad it is
I got into it earlier this year, and I remember right after I finished season two, I wanted to see if there was going to be another season, and surely enough there was another one on the way. After finishing this season I can confidently say this is probably my favorite anime
The satisfaction and the closure of spending your time with journey of the series is one of the most important things that matters to me tbh. Thank you for giving your thoughts out on this.
I think the worst ending isn't even an anime: it's The Man in The High Castle
As soon as I heard you say Mob Psycho I had to pause but i'm super happy to hear that, it's one of my favourite shows and I was worried they wouldn't stick the landing, gonna do binge season 3 now

And then there is Full Metal Panic.... which we will have to wait another 15 years for the ending season.
Thank you for speaking out on this, Charlie. I always felt this when I am watching anime. The ending to an anime is always extremely important because a series is building and building and continuously building up to the ending. When years or months of building up to the ending conclude with a terrible, written ending, the series loses its point.
the manga ending is significantly different from the anime in Soul Eater and you should check it out
the manga was still running when the anime was being made so in order to have A conclusion, they improvised.

Mob psycho will forever be me number one fav anime of all time if another anime is actually detailed and has a good ending like mob psycho it’ll be my second or first
Nothing beats good ending like code geass. Actually just a top tier anime overall, the “smart main character” trope done so well that it would send characters like Light from death note to weenie hut jr, paired with amazing writing. I mean the author was cooking so hard. He pumpfaked what would’ve been a bad ending and then surprised us with one of the best character arcs and plot twists of all time. Truly just peak fiction and couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone out there.
I would say light is better
@@BombSquad.MP4L take
Light was a one sided maniac, who always had everything according to plan, LL had to always weasel his way out of random bullshit that was thrown at him, still making emotional mistakes because he is completely human. Its like comparing a robot to a human.
Mob Psycho is written by ONE, an exceptional story teller and manga artist, he also made One Punch Man.
Was going to comment the same thing, I think ONE is great at making relatable characters, even villains, that have their arcs, no character is just like a random sidekick that doesn't have it's own struggle, personality, love and hate. It makes for such a great webcomic, manga and anime.

Well it’s not just anime, what live action shows have good endings?
Honestly I think it's less about endings with live action shows really. It's weird because I feel like anime if anything were bad from the start or dropped the ball *exactly* at the end. But I feel like it's way more common for livr action shows to not even reach that "bad ending only" because they either stay good or turn into shit way before the ending. It gets hard to then even say the ending was bad, when really, modt of the stuff before the ending got way worse and worse already
