Hey Darling I don't know if you already knew this but if it's dark (light level 7 and under i believe) monsters can spawn, but if it's light they can't. So next time I would maybe avoid dark places (as those woods) or light them up❤
Also spiders can climb walls
You can block spiders with slabs/roof from stairs
