What made Jounouchi's deck good in the manga/anime was its ability to adapt to any situation. Cards like Graverobber let him be as powerful as his opponent by using their cards (which works less now than the manga/anime where everyone played so many generic cards); Cards like Rocket Warrior and Jinzo let him overpower any monster/trap; etc.
Despite this, every Red-Eyes support card refused to focus on this aspect of his deck. Instead, we get burn.... which was when _Marik_ was controlling him using banned cards. In other words, all the burn cards are really Marik support than Jounouchi support, lol.

Perseverence plus toolboxing, is how I see it. Maybe some scaling on how many of your bosses you've lost, so the more pressure you're under the harder you can fight back. A continuous or field for tag-out or floating? Melffy (everything tags out for each other) meets Generaider (deck made entirely of a continual flow of differently-situational bosses) meets Numeron (wincons that turn into bigger wincons if they aren't enough).

I really like the idea of a "will" theme since it flows so well with whom Joey is as a character and why people like him, but I think another aspect that could make this better is to have them keep the Gemini theme as well since that way you get to see even more of Joey's journey by sommoning monsters that are bad at first but become crazy later.
A way to implement both of these would be support cards that if you summon them you can foolish a normal and then if the normal was a Gemini (make the Geminis normals in the deck too because why the hell are they not) you get to search a spell or trap that mentions red eyes, you could have a trap card that is basically return of the red eyes but that immediately Gemini summons the vanilla if it is a Gemini and then if you did you could pop a card on the field, make it so the new Geminis have some sort of protection and recursion to them so that red eyes doesn't stay dead for long and I think a boss fusion monster would be really cool if it had the effect that the first time it leaves the field it summons itself back and then the second time it summons back a vanilla red eyes from the GY. Complement this with some other traps and fusions and there you have a good grind game deck that doesn't stay dead for anything

Based on you proposal, i have some ideas:
      1) Red-Eyes Field Spell (What the artwork could be?... WIP): "Following effects are HOTP. When you activate this card, send 1 "Red-Eyes" card from your Deck to the GY, and if you do set 1 spell/trap card on the field that is a "Red-Eyes" card, or mentions "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", from your Deck or GY to your field. It can be activated this turn"
(This is so you can make use of the red-eyes backrow faster, like fang with chain or return of the red-eyes or spirit. Or even more "anime" stuff like inferno fire blast, or the ritual spell for lord of red. )
I am genuinely considering giving it a toss a coin effect as a reference to joey's over-reliance of luck, But i don't know hot to implement it.
Maybe make it so the "toss a coin" effect (triggered by the summon of a "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster), lets you destroy a card on the field if it lands on heads and if it lands on tails, you can target a red-eyes card on the field, inflict damage equal to its ATK. If i keep the burn effect, i would make it so it is HOPT.

  • @enlongjones2394

So, in addition to the card effects and strategy of Red-Eyes, I would also like to see cards that create a better foundation for the *story* of Red-Eyes.
There is a *lot* of weird and disjointed art in the Red-Eyes lineup; random Joey cards that are Red-Eyesified, and things that don't seem like they fit, but I think those ideas can be tied together.
Here's my pitch for a lore concept: The Red-Eyes is not a singular dragon or a species, the way that the Blue-Eyes is. The Red-Eyes is a malicious, eternal dragon *spirit* that's capable of taking the bodies of others to resurrect itself. Other dragons (either already born or in the egg), warriors who think themselves dragon-slayers, the dragon's own corpse, and even truly inanimate things like *weapons and armor* can become the host of the Red-Eyes Soul. The Blue-Eyes White Dragon has an entire church of worshippers who pray for the revival, blessing, and protection of the sacred dragon. The Red-Eyes Black Dragon stands alone, plundering the graves and bodies of its enemies to ensure its own immortality. This is where cards like Fang With Chain, Red-Eyes Gearfried, REd-Eyes Baby Dragon, and Black Metal Dragon come from. All of them hosts of the Red-Eyes itself.
And to go with this concept, perhaps a bit of grave-robber flavor could be implemented alongside some of Red-Eyes's better cards. I'm thinking perhaps a repeatable variation on Monster Reborn (or Call of the Haunted?) that can summon a monster out of either graveyard, changes its name to Red-Eyes Black Dragon, and allows you to treat it as level 7 when making dark Xyz. Perhaps we could have The Red-Eyes as a card that can snatch-steal something and turn it into a Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

    • @DisappearBlade
      @DisappearBlade 2 месяца назад +3

Yeah, I came to that conclusion about possible Red-Eyes lore as well. Red-eyes insight is the Dragon peering into the next thing to possess. And these monsters getting red eyes is the spirit inhabiting these Joey monsters, especially Gearfried since you can see the Black Dragon behind him.

Joey's "arc" in the beginning of yugioh was learning to use spells and traps to power up his monsters. (His first deck was literally all monsters) So I think cards that powers up red-eyes by giving it a ton of effects would be cool, spells and traps that give it protection, piercing, atk boosts, floats, etc. This would feel on brand with the "potential" and "underdog" themes Joey has.

I'd say two key points: perseverence and toolboxing. Any individual piece makes a strong-but-not-enormous impact, but if it's defeated or unhelpful, it floats into or tags out for something that fits better. Scaling on how pressured you are (bosses in GY/banished? times you floated/tagged this turn?) Give them a continuous that gives all names a float when removed by opponent's card, once per turn *per name*.

So a thing that is shown through out the series is that Red-Eyes is that Red-Eyes lacks power itself compared to BEWD, however it is capable of pulling out others powers in a fusion. Which is what Dragoon was, in a way.
The will theme is already around in some measure, Red-Eyes loves come back/recovery cards, to keep standing. Lastly an iconic thing for Joey in Battle City was him making a deck from cards of those he beat.
Someone in the video suggested it but you can make Fossil Fusion-esque Graverobber fusion, and then make fusion monsters based on the cards joey wins from others (or just boss monsters of other character). Red-Eyes Fisher Dragon, Red Eyes Insect-Dragon, Red Eyes Psycho-Dragon (Jinzo). However instead of needing the specific monster they either need the type or may even just the attribute. Together with the Zombie stuff you can make a deck that refuses to stay dead and will merge with what its defeated.

Graverobber is Joey's most powerful and useful card, and he used it to turn the opponents cards against them and win many of his pivotal duels, so the only hint for its continued presence being Retro Dragon is a crime. Looks like it's finally my time to shine.
As a red eyes player for a good while now, there are three aspects the archetype is best known for: Burn, recursion and graveyard control. The best angle we could go for is getting new spells and monsters to search said spells, each of them having some kind of recursion while getting new boss monsters that focus on burn and graveyard control.
I found a video a couple weeks ago with an idea of a spell card that basically acts like transaction roleback but for red eyes spells/traps specifically so if we don't get a Red eyes fusion 2, which would be very usual, that could be a good option 2 with lots of potential. Maybe even lord of red retrain as a fusion where if an effect is activated in the graveyard, you can choose to either negate or banish it and do a little burn damage. Hell you could do a red eyes retrain of dragon claws that joey used a lot in the anime and give similar protection and recursion effects as good direction for the early equip ideas given the current fusions outside of dragoon don't really have any protection.
There's more ideas I could give but I'm sure I gave enough to spark some discussion so have at it.

Me personally, I’d kind of like some cards based on the cards used by Alexis and Serenity since their brothers played Red-eyes (I remember being bothered when brothers of legend had no red-eyes since 2 of the brother characters used red-eyes which would have been perfect). Alexis’ could focus on the ritual style of the deck by giving it equivalents to the Cyber Angels while Serenity’s could maybe pair with the fusion aspect since some of the retrains of St John was a fusion monster (you could also maybe tie it into the burn effects by having a monster that gains you life equal to what you burn your opponent for).
As for something that makes it actually somewhat meta viable, why don’t we embrace the fusion aspect of red eyes and make a bunch of Red-eyes fusions that use specific types like what slash dragon does. Even just using the cards Joey used, you’d have a Beast Warrior, Spellcaster, Insect, Fish and Machine at the very least. At the very least, it would make it a decent super poly deck.

Please give red eyes a continues spell card that does literally anything (preferably some type of negate) and also has the line of text: all "red-eyes" gemini monsters on the field are considered effect monsters with their effect. It would unironically give the deck some decent options (playing into the whole potential thing) including, a once per turn raigeki, destruction immunity, and more burn damage. also a way to fuse without having to shoot themselves in the knee and cut off both thumbs would also help, probably, at least it would feel better to play

Edit since i have had more time to produce ideas and stuff; It would be actually sick to have a Red-Eyes strategy all about the idea of 'perseverance' and the ability to keep going for an unholy amount of time. One thing that can be done to promote this is a new Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon retrain about specifically having Red-Eyes monsters in the GY and being able to reborn itself by sending R-Es to the bottom of the deck to create an inevitable resource loop. We can get a continuous spell with a revised Red-Eyes mask on it called something like "Darkness Eternal : Red-Eyes" or something along those lines that does something whenever a Red-Eyes monster gets sent to the GY from the field, maybe get another baby dragon in the form of "Red-Eyes Dark Whelp" or just "Red-Eyes Whelp", you know, just stuff to enforce the idea of "The Eternal Spirit".

They Need to focus Red-Eyes on Equip Spells they have a lot of cards already that works with that mechanic: Black Metal Dragon, Red-Eyes Baby Dragon, Gearfried the Red-Eyes Metal Knight, Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword, Red-Eyes Slash Dragon and Red-Eyes with Chain and make it work with the other Joey/Jonouchi Archtype - "Flame Swordsman". Besides Yugioh has 25 years and we haven't a Flame Swordsman and Red-Eyes Black Dragon Fusion even if they are Joey's Boss and Ace Monster... something like "Red-Eyes Black Flame Swordsman" and a Retrain of "Gearfried the Swordmaster" like "Gearfried the Red-Eyes Swordmaster" being fusion monster of a "Red-Eyes" warrior monster and a "Red-Eyes" Dragon Monster that is meant to be summoned with a retrain of the Old card that turned gearfried into the Swordmaster something like this:
    "Red-Eyes Armor Release"
    Normal Spell-
Tribute 1 face-up monster that you control equipped with a "Red-Eyes" card; Special Summon From your Extra Deck 1 "Red-Eyes" Fusion Monster of the Same Type that the tributed monster (this is treated as a Fusion Summon). During the Main Phase: Banish this card from your graveyard and target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster that you control equipped with one or more cards; During the rest of the turn if that monster would be destroyed by battle or a card effect, destroy one of the cards equipped to it instead. You can only use each effect of "Red-Eyes Armor Release" once per turn.

That sounds really good. If the card was a quick play so it worked better with the Fang with Chain and you could do during the battle phase it would be even better. As a Red-Eyes player I have to say: why the fuck are people saying "they're cooking" over the idea of adding more reborns... HALF THE SUPPORT FUCKING REBORNS. Darkness metal, spirit, return, flare metal, meteor comet, gearfried, retro, stone(kinda). Not to mention the zombies also all reborn (but they should not count in a conversation about supporting red-eyes because they are zombie world support yall treating it like its red-eyes support is like saying zombie felgrand is dragon support or red dragon archfiend is summoned skull support.)
In my eyes the fix to red-eyes is ultimately more flooding the field and protection. Give us a card like branded regained that gives us red-eyes monsters from the GY and if they're gemini monsters they gain their effects. Give us a endboard boss that protects red-eyes monsters special summoned from the extra deck and graveyard from Targeting and Banishing. Suddenly we can have meteor impact summoned from GY treated as gemini that protects all red-eyes form battle and card destruction, protection from targeting and banishment, a ton of recursion then we have REF as a explosive game ender if need be (or hell give us a continous or field spell that remove the summon lock entirely hell pair it with the red-eyes regained effect in 1 single card)

If I can be in charge of making new Red-Eyes support I would make cards that just have synergy with the xyz equips, and fusion monsters. Fusion monsters will have enhanced recursion effects such as summoning a Red-Eyes monster from deck, or with equip effects such as equipping a Red-Eyes monster from deck and having disruption by sending a card that is equipped from a monster to grave. Red-Eyes xyz monsters on the other hand could focus on recursion from the graveyard and disruption by detaching a material. And finally main deck Red-Eyes monsters should have three types of effects 1. Grab a Red-Eyes card (monster, spell, trap) from deck to hand, 2. If this card leaves the field, special summon 1 Red-Eyes monster from the graveyard and if you special summoned Red-Eyes Black Dragon off of this effect double it's original attack. And 3. You can discard/send from deck to graveyard 1 Red-Eyes normal/effect monster to special summon/activate its effect. I love the Red-Eyes archetype, it will always be my favorite deck no matter how bad it gets, I simply wish it got better and not sidelined unlike the other two iconic juggernauts such as Blue-Eyes and the Dark Magician.
And thank you to whoever took the time out of their day/night to read this :)

I think a neat idea would be to create a line up of fusion monsters mixing Red Eyes with the cards Joey won in Battle City, like Jinzo, Insect Queen, Fortress Whale, or Legendary Fisherman.
Since Red Eyes is all about “Potential”, additional support could be inspired by Joey’s growth as a duelist throughout the series.
Time Wizard is kinda the embodiment of this idea so maybe we can get a retrain of it that uses “Time Magic” to either fast forward time (by immediately taking Red Eyes and turning it into any of its fusions, kinda like Eye of Timaeus with DM) or turn back time (by taking a Red Eyes fusion, and summoning the named materials from anywhere).

    Red Eyes Thief.
Link 1. Arrow Up. 2400 attack, Dark, Warrior.
    One "Red Eyes" monster.
This card can only be special summoned if over half of your graveyard is "Red eyes" cards (to prevent it being too generic.) Add any one red eyes card from your deck to your hand. If this card leaves the field, you can special summon one "Red eyes" monster from your deck or Graveyard. Once per turn, you can activate one of these effects:
Send one "Red eyes" card from your deck to your grave, this card gains that cards effects.
Activate or special summon one "Red eyes" card in your grave.
Destroy this card, your "Red Eyes" cards are unaffected by spells and traps until your next turns end phase.

That Poplar card was actually pretty spot on, it just needed to change the Spell/Trap placement thing with anything ranging from actual revival, to returning a card from GY to hand.

Here's an idea to fix Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon that sounds kinda cool:
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 "Red-Eyes" monster from your hand or field. You can only Special Summon "Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon " once per turn this way. This card's name becomes "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" while on the field or in the GY. While this card and a "Red-Eyes" monster you control, except "Red-Eyes B. Chick" are on the field: If a monster(s) your opponent controls is destroyed by battle or card effect: inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can target 1 card your opponent controls and 1 "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY, except "Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon"; Destroy that card on the field, and if you do, Special Summon that other monster. That monster's name becomes "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" while on the field.
That way it has an on-field effect that matches the theme of red-eyes, can be useful to send Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon to the grave and has a floating effect to revive a monster while destroying a card. You could also remove the burn effect and it would still be ok.
It could also be a use for Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon? Maybe?

My idea would probably be to make the deck more reactive, particularly from the grave - akin to the effect of Red-Eyes Wyvern. • @DisappearBlade
      @DisappearBlade 2 месяца назад +3

      Here is my example:
Red Eyes Potential Unleashed: Continuous Spell:
Once while this card is face-up on the field you can reveal one Level 7 Red-Eyes monster in your hand OR while you control one; add one “Red-Eyes” card and a DARK Dragon from your deck to your hand. If you activate “Red-Eyes Fusion” its effect “You cannot normal or special summon other monsters the turn you activate this card” becomes “You can only activate the effects of “Red-Eyes” monsters, ‘of the Red’ monsters, or monsters that list “Red-Eyes” in there text for the rest of this turn after this card resolves.” You can Special summon one level one Dark Dragon from your hand. You can only use each effect of this card once per turn.
It probably needs to be for the whole turn, not the rest of the turn, but I based it my cards restrictions. If Konami made this card with nothing else I would defiantly want it for the whole turn.

Here's how you make a red eyes archtype great: You don't make it the focus. Joey was not a dragon duelist. He was a warrior duelist and had a couple weird monsters as trophies like insect queen and red eyes.
Make a red eyes archtype that centers around being discarded from the hand for one effect, then can equip to warrior monsters to give other on field effects like more effects or doing something when that monster battles or providing protection and be banished when they leave the field. Generic good stuff for one type of monster that makes it a flexible package for many decks. Then make the boss monsters contact fuse with 1 warrior equipped with one (or more) red eyes monsters equipped to it. For more powerful boss monsters either use more equips or require the warrior to be an extra deck type like fusion. Let the generic 1 warrior + 1 equip be monsters that won't ever see a full archtype like Swordsman of Lanstar and then let the bigger bosses be Flame Swordsman or Gearfried. The Spell/Traps do something and then can be banished from grave to add a banished red eyes back to the hand of graveyard depending on how powerful the first effect of the spell/trap is and how much you want to let it double dip on the red eyes.
The best part is this archtype is an anime fan cash cow, because they will never be powercrept. It's flexible to work with warriors broadly and effects like "Search 1 warrior" is good enough to always be wanted, but it lives or dies by the warrior archtypes you can slot it into. Flame Swordsman + Red Eyes too old? Print Sychnro Gearfried archtype + Red Eyes Boss monster to go with it + a new piece or two of support for the red eyes to replace the worst cards in it. Print an XYZs strategy based around his less iconic smaller vanilla monsters like Battle Warrior that are about swarming the board and recurring themselves over and over. Tease the fans with Rokket support and then release Rocket Warrior Links. Joey can just keep on winning if you make his ace monster a support card for all of his other monsters rather than the other way around.

    • @jaernihiltheus7817
      @jaernihiltheus7817 2 месяца назад

Problem is that Red-Eyes isn't just Joey's ace but Atticus's as well.
Joey used mostly warriors with Red-Eyes as one of his aces, alongside Jinzo. So that support makes sense for him.
Atticus Rhodes from GX used a Dragon deck that focused on milling and burning with generic Dragon support, with the Red-Eyes Darkness series as his aces.
The burn stuff & "Darkness Metal" stuff are all Atticus support, which is why they are generic Dragon extenders alongside cards burn & mill. Joey's Red-Eyes stuff is the Equip-based stuff as a reference to Kunai With Chain, along with retrains of other cards like Gearfried and Baby Dragon. It's essentially 2 different decks that are under the same archetype. Like the difference between Duke Devlin's (mostly FLIP) Ninjas, TCG-original type-based Ninjas, the Armor Ninjas from Zexal, Sunshadow and Moonshadow's Twilight Ninjas from Arc V, and the new not-FLIP Fusion Ninjas. You're really *SUPPOSED* to be treating Atticus & Joey's stuff as two separate decks that can be splashed together to make a stronger hybrid... But they don't have enough consistency or extension, Red-Eyes Fusion's restrictions suck, and Konami doesn't really make it clear which is supposed to go where, unless it's explicitly a Joey reference, so it makes the archetype feel more jumbled & confused than it actually is.
Let me try with 1 card to make the Atticus Rhodes portion better. I'm gonna use the OCG numbering system for effects because it reads better.
      Nightshroud of Red-Eyes, Level 1 Dark/Fiend/Effect, 0 ATK/0 DEF
      Effect:
"You can only activate the 1 and 2 effects of "Nightshroud of Red-Eyes" once per turn.
1: You can reveal this card from your hand (Quick Effect); Special Summon 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster or Gemini Monster from your hand, deck, or GY, and if you do, equip this card to it as an Equip Spell, also all Effect Damage your opponent takes this turn is halved. You cannot equip "Nightshroud of Red-Eyes" to a Monster the turn this effect is activated, except from the hand. 2: You can banish this card from your GY and discard 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Spell; This effect becomes that card's effect. 3: A "Red-Eyes" Monster equipped with this card gains the following effect: ●Unaffected by your opponent's activated card effects. Once, while this card is on the field, if this card would be sent to the GY by card effect, or as a Tribute for the Tribute or Special Summon of a Level 7 or higher Monster: Add 1 "Red-Eyes Darkness" Monster from your deck or GY to your hand instead, then you take damage equal to that Monster's ATK."
And done. This is a card from the anime turned into a playable card, it works with the equip stuff, makes the Gemini stuff usable as your normal summon if need be. Is a starter. A way to cheat the restrictions of Red-Eyes Fusion. And a searcher for Atticus' aces that also works with mill, the Ritual Monster, and even a stray Polymerization if need be. It IS a bit wordy and effect 2 could easily be made into its own card. In fact I'm pretty sure the only Red-Eyes card this doesn't have any synergy with is the Xyz.

The irony is Red-Eyes has had some cards which have seen competitive play over the years, pre-errata Darkness Metal, the DM Fusion Dark Dragoon, the Xyz Flare Metal (that saw play in Kashtira, which wasn't that long ago).
The problem is it has never really felt like a unified archetype, and in some respects its problems reflects the games problems itself. If those boss monsters were locked into Red-Eyes and not generic, Red-Eyes probably would of seen more play. But because they were generic, they did nothing for the deck, why play Flare Metal in Red-Eyes when you can play it in a good deck like Kashtira. Why play a Red-Eyes deck focused around Darkness Metal when you can play Darkness Metal in any other Dragon Deck.
The best deck at the moment is a deck that has no in archetype Extra Deck monsters (Snake-Eyes), however because Konami has for years now followed a policy of making just about every other extra deck monster generic, in archetype boss monsters end up doing nothing for said archetype. (Same can be said for some main deck boss monsters like Darkness Metal). Konami could give Red-Eyes a powerful Link-2, but knowing Konami they'll make it completely generic and have it generically support Dragon's, meaning Red-Eyes ultimately sees little benefit of having the card as every other Dragon deck would run it.

Dark Magician is Control and Spell Searching/ Field Removal.
    Blue-Eyes is a Fast-Paced Beatdown and Battle-Phase Focused Deck.
Red-Eyes should have been the Graveyard Revival/Burn Deck. Its literally right there but Konami had no idea what to do with the dragon. So sad.

I've been playing Red-eyes since the game came out. I've run it in almost every incarnation it has had. There have always been a plethora of cards that enabled it in pretty wacky ways. You usually just had to look outside the archetype to do it sadly. Cards like Carboneddon, for example, allowed you the ability to pull Red-eyes directly from the deck to the field practically on demand.
Where Red-eyes has always excelled has been its ability to appear from nowhere and refuse to stay dead. Constantly recurring itself and evolving in various forms.
What Red-eyes wants to do, it already does exceptionally well. It just lacks some of the on-archetype support of modern archetypes.
So my recommendation is to relax some of the weird restrictions tying the the monsters down. And move some of the off-archetype support on-archetype (or at least make equivalents). And provide a few new tools via erratas of current support.
    - Archfiend Black Skull Dragon- errata the weird restriction to its materials that requires the 6☆ to be a normal monster. - This would allow Red-eyes Archfiend to be used as a material from the deck, and not just on the field. Providing much more consistent access to one of its most oppressive boss monsters.
    - Carboneddon - move on-archetype or create an on-archetype equivalent. Make it a tuner and a zombie.
    - First of the Dragons - move on-archetype or create an on-archetype equivalent.
    - Red-eyes Darkness Dragon - errata to give it the effect of the REDMD from the anime. Allowing you to discard a card to negate a spell. Also, allow it to evolve off any 7☆ Red-eyes monster.
    - Create a Red-eyes Twin Dragon. - this just always bothered me that he never got one.
    - Red-eyes Flare Metal Dragon - this card is excellent. But it needs a rank up option for once it has expended its materials.
    - Zombie World - Make an on archetype equivalent. Maybe tack on the ability to bury a Red-eyes card from the deck.

Funny timing - I was actually working on a homebrew wave of support that considered RE Flare Metal Dragon exemplary of a win con. My plan was floodgate burn retrains of Black Skull Dragon and Meteor Black Dragon, but especially with a new Xyz/Fusion combination card. A field or continuous spell that lets you cheat out an Xyz monster when you Fusion Summon - so ranks 1, 3, 4, 6, and 7 are all easily toolboxed if you summon an existing fusion monster

There was one idea that was good and in theme.
Focusing on having Red Eyes return from the grave. It would suck if against grave keepers but, imagine.
Red Eyes if destroyed on the field can return once per turn. If returned this way they can do X Effect. Can only activate the turn it was destroyed"
For example. Red Eyes Attack Doubles when returned. Red Eyes returns a card to opponents hand. Red Eyes deals 300 Burn Damage for each Red Eyes returned to the field this turn. Red Eyes can draw a card if returned to the field. Red Eyes boosts the attack of another red eyes when returned.
The only issue is how would you destroy them? Pair them with Unchained. Or give them Red Eyes cards that achieve this. Its a messy idea, but I can see this being amazing.
The red eyes mean potential, how do you teach this potential if you don't fail and get back up to try again

Since Red-eyes has a fusion with summon skull that technically makes it an archfiend card so make it compatible with the red dragon archfiend stuff. A level 1 red eyes resonator that special summons red eyes so you can syncro summon red dragon archfiend along with a fusion card that uses the red eyes in the gy with the red dragon on field to make red-eyes red dragon. It's effect would destroy monsters your opponent controls and deal damage fitting both play styles.

I also have a Red-Eyes deck and I went into two directions of the deck, its gemini and fusion plays. And surprisingly in a 60 card deck that runs 9 generic cards (2 Poly, 2 Super Poly, 2 Blast with Chain, 2 Lost Wind, and 1 Titanocider) I like where it went. I went full into its deck construction and constant testing. Having 2 The Black Stone of Legend, 2 Black Metal Dragon, and 2 Red-Eyes Soul to go into search plays of Red-Eyes cards, the first one is to recycle graveyard for certain card's discard requirements. Red-Eyes Insight is an obvious 3 of considering it can set up graveyard and get any Red-Eyes spell/trap you need, so Return of the Red-Eyes to summon normal monsters from grave, Spirit to summon any Red-Eyes, Fang with Chain to equip, and the fusion to fuse from hand, deck, and or field.
The key cards to the gemini plays are Dimer Synthesis, Catalyst Field, Geminize Lord Golknight, Gemini Ablation, Sublimation Knight, and Evocator Eveque. Geminize Lord Golknight can search any of the three spell/traps if he summoned as an effect monster, the cards work together, Catalyst Field can summon him as such and so can Sublimation and Ablation. Dimer Synthesis can search Catalyst and even power boost amongst your monsters as long as you have a gemini effect monster as well as any other on your field. Gemini Ablation can cheat out any gemini monster from deck at the cost of a discard or cheat out a fire warrior at the cost of a gemini tribute and a discard; if you used a gemini effect monster as tribute you get a free pop. Catalyst Field can cheat out any high level gemini monster in hand and even turn them into effect monsters and you can also banish a gemini effect monster on your field to pop a card.
Return of the Red-Eyes just allows you to cheat out any normal monster from grave, even the gemini monsters amongst them.
While the key cards for the fusion plays are Polymerization, Super Polymerization, and Red-Eyes Fusion. There is also Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon to search Red-Eyes Fusion from grave or in deck. For Archfiend Black Skull Dragon, you only need a normal Archfiend card, I run Summoned Skull but the other options are Beast of Talwar and Archfiend Soldier, but there is also the chance of having a normal Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning on the field also. For Red-Eyes Slash Dragon, any warrior monster can do; Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight fills this slot as well as Geminize Lord Golknight, Sublimation Knight, and Evocator Eveque. I've tried to run Immortal Phoenix Gearfried and Phoenix Gearfried but there isn't enough equip cards in the deck for them, which is why I stayed with Evocator Eveque. And for Meteor Black Comet Dragon there is Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact as well as Black Meteor Dragon. Super Poly is there because there is also Garura and Starving Venom. And if you're running poly, might as well run Guardian Chimera.

Something simple like a rank 8 that can only be summoned over Flare and has an extra effect if it has Red-Eyes as material is an easy start. Something like Red-Eyes spell/traps cannot be negated or destroyed. Also, a field spell that 1.) protects this monster and 2.) Special Summons Red-Eyes monsters from deck and/or gy at a cost that limits it to a Red-Eyes deck. Something like sending a Red-Eyes card from hand AND deck to special summon Red-Eyes or a card that mentions it.

Idea: red-eyes support that takes advantage of the fact that the archetype is a complete mess.
Introduce a link monster called "Red-Eyes Imperial Cyber General". (honoring Tristan's cyber commander)
This monster is designed to be played around, not battling directly, and makes the archetype as smooth as possible.
Stats: ATK/ 750 dark, machine, effect.
    Effects:
    - Must be special-summoned by banishing one red-eyes card in your hand or field.
    - While you control another red-eyes card with a different original name, this card is unaffected by other card-effects, cannot be destroyed by battle, and cannot be tributed.
    - When this card is destroyed by battle, it is banished instead.
    - While this card is on the field, all red-eyes cards in your hand, field, and GY satisfy the summoning requirements and effect-activation requirements of your red-eyes monsters and ritual-spells.
This card makes it so all your red-eyes cards become a soup where everything has synergy . For example, Red-Eyes Toon Dragon can use its direct attack effect because red-eyes cards now satisfy the toon requirement. You could use any red-eyes monsters/spells/traps to summon extra-deck monsters, like using as fusion-materials/tuners. The zombie-cards have synergy with the red-eyes deck now, and you can use them to revive red-eyes monsters as if they were zombies.
I think this makes things interesting, because the red-eyes player is now all about gas and board-presence. You need to keep red-eyes cards on the field so your general stays protected, otherwise many of your cards stop working together. It allows players to go all in on red eyes cards and make bricking less dangerous.

So this video made me remember a list I started putting together of my own Red-Eyes cards that I will post below. But before that, I wanna share some of my thoughts. So I think the deck would be best if focused on the fusion and XYZ elements. And with Joey, I think a lot of things have been very much ignored. I think Thousand Dragon, Time Wizard, Hermos, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, Flame Swordsman were wrongfully ignored when considering what cards to retrain into Red-Eyes support. So I'm attempting to fix that here.
    Red-Eyes Baby Dragon (ERRATA'D)
    Dark/Dragon/Effect
    Level 3
    Atk:1200 Def:700
When this card is used as a fusion material: You can Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster from your Deck, and if you do, equip this card from the GY or banished zone to it. It gains 600 ATK. If this card leaves the field while equipped to a monster: You can add 1 Level 1 Dragon monster from your Deck or GY to your hand.
    Red-Eyes Time Wizard (NEW)
    Dark/Spellcaster/Effect
    Level 2
    Atk:500 Def:400
If you have "Red-Eyes Baby Dragon" in your hand or on your field, you can banish it and this card to fusion summon "Red-Eyes Thousand Dragon" from your Extra Deck. You can only summon "Red-Eyes" monsters the turn you activate this effect.
    Hermos the United Dragon (NEW)
    Dark/Dragon/Effect
    Level 7
    Atk:2700 Def:1400
(This card is always treated as a "Red-Eyes" monster) You can banish one level 7 Dragon monster or one spell that mentions a "Red-Eyes" card from your GY: Special summon this card from your hand. You can banish this card from your field and banish one level 7 Dragon monster from your GY: Special summon a "Red-Eyes" Fusion monster or a Fusion monster that requires a "Red-Eyes" monster as material. You can only use the effect of "Hermos the United Dragon" once per turn.
    Red-Eyes Fusion (ERRATA'D)
    Normal/Spell/Effect
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Materials, and if you do, its name becomes "Red-Eyes Black Dragon". You cannot Normal or Special Summon other monsters after you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Red-Eyes Fusion" per turn.
    Red-Eyes Salamandra Fusion (NEW)
    Spell/Equip/Effect
When this card is activated: Fusion summon a "Red-Eyes" fusion monster or a Fusion monster that mentions a Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck using materials from your field or GY, then equip it with this card. While that fusion monster is equipped with this card, it gains 1000 attack points and cannot be destroyed by card effects. You can only summon "Red-Eyes" monsters for the rest of the turn.
    Red-Eyes Thousand Dragon(NEW)
    Dark/Dragon/Fusion/Effect
    Level 7
    Atk:2400 Def:2000
    "Red-Eyes Baby Dragon + Red-Eyes Time Wizard"
This card can also be special summoned from the extra deck by banishing it's materials from your GY.
If this card is special summoned: Destroy a number of cards on your opponent's field equal to the number of "Red-Eyes" monsters on your side of the field. You can pay 2000 life points and if you do, special summon "Hundred Dragon" from your hand or deck. You can use this effect up to twice per turn.
    Red-Eyes Flame Swordsman
    Fire/Warrior/XYZ/Effect
    Rank 7
    Atk:1800 Def:1600
    "2 Level 7 Red-Eyes monsters"
This card can also be XYZ summoned using two copies of "Hundred Dragon" on your side of the field.
This card gains 700 attack for every XYZ material attached to it. Once per turn, you can detach a XYZ material from this card and target one either "Red-Eyes" monster in your banished zone and special summon it, or one spell/trap in your GY that mentions a "Red-Eyes" card and add it to your hand.

I love the fact that red eyes can do so many things and has an identity crisis lol. They can lean into the Zombie part more but future support should focus on bringing out powerful extra deck monsters from each mechanic to kinda simulate Joey’s presence as a duelist being in every era like yugi and kaiba.
Lean into the burn damage aspect and the recurring will of Joey to never stay down. It kinda makes sense that red eyes is so all over the place and the burn part is more associated with that one character from GX rather than Joey since Joey had red eyes as just a random Ace in his deck with other random Aces

  • @0mn0m15
    @0mn0m15 2 месяца назад

How about a card that basically has all the things Red-Eyes is trying to be? Here's my idea:
    Red-Eyes Requiem
    Equip Spell
Target one "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY; Special Summon that target, and if you do, equip it with this card. A "Red-Eyes" monster equipped with this card has its name treated as "Red-Eyes Black Dragon." Each time your equipped monster declares an attack, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the original ATK of the equipped monster. If this card is in your GY (Quick Effect); you can banish this card from your GY, and if you do, Fusion summon 1 Fusion monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck, by shuffling monters that are banished, in your GY, or field into your deck. You can only use each effect of "Red-Eyes Requiem" once per turn, and only once that turn.

They should lean into the Gemini aspect of the deck by printing bust Gemini support. Geminis already fit the theme of potential and are ripe for the breaking. The other Joey warrior cards could be Gemini monsters, and the support could work like normal support but up to level 6. There could be cards like unexpected dai, but gives the choice to either summon 2 lv6 or lower card as normals, or one as an effect monster. With solid effects like some of the snake-eye but more balanced on geminis would work really well, and the cards could combo with catalyst field. Maybe, if we’re feeling real bold, a couple of broken gamble effects could be added as a bonus, like when the cards is Gemini summoned, they flip for a counter that could be protection, pop or a negate that can be transferred to an extra deck monster that was summoned using that card as a material.

Red eyes time wizard- once per turn, flip a coin, if heads, destroy all monsters on your opponents field, if tails, destroy all monsters on your side of the field and take damage equal to half their attack. If this card is destroyed by card effect summon or add 1 card that mentions "red eyes" from your deck or graveyard (apart from red-eyes time wizard). You can banish this card from gy apart from the turn it is sent there to special summon 1 red eyes monster from hand or normal summon a monster on field and your opponent takes half its atk as damage. You can only activate this effect of "red eyes time wizard" once per turn.

-make a dragon lvl 4 that searches zombie world so you CAN play zombie red eyes if you want similar to necro banshee, so that the zombie red eyes can do something
-make more spells and such that go off red eyes name and dont specify dragon typing in order to facilitate this maybe a main deck zombie red eyes in the main deck to be related to this card and maybe able to summon old red eyes zombie dragon (main deck) wouldnt be good but would be nice to do

Red-eyes needs some gambling cards for some low/high risk/High reward situations.
    - A Field spell that lets you draw 2 cards, but if you don't summon a red-eyes card that turn you have to discard your whole hand, and then something like if a Red-eyes card you control is destroyed you can send the top card of your deck to the Graveyard, add that card to your hand or pay 1000 and special summon it from the Graveyard and increase its Atk/Def by 1000 till the end of the turn.
    - An omni-negate fusion monster that has you roll 2 six-sided dice and either hold onto both dice for a turn and if it is 8 or higher and your opponent activates a card or effect this turn:negate it, or hold onto one of the dice and apply that dice roll with the next 2 dice you roll on your next turn, but decrease your monsters Atk/Def by the number on the saved dice x100. Make it easy to summon like to dark monsters including 1 Red-eyes B. Dragon. 3100 atk 2600 Def
    - Finally a Link 2 that can be Link Summoned using a Red-eyes Extra Deck monster as the whole material requirement. It is treated as Red-eyes B. Dragon while on the field. Red-eyes cards you control gain Atk/Def equal to their Level x100. And then add something else useful like a search when it destroys a monster or a pop when you summon a Red-eyes card to a zone it points to.

Atticus' fans cry in a corner
    Somewhere
    Yes, all 3 of them
Also, you could just make it like a janky fusion deck with the emphasis on evolution, since Red-Eyes was all about potential (working kinda like Zeus), while still keeping a bit of burn for ye olde times sake. A few examples of what I mean:
    Red-Eyes Breakthrough
    (Quick Spell)
Tribute 1 Dragon monster on your side of the field. Special Summon a "Red-Eyes" monster from your hand or GY and until the end of this turn, it cannot be destroyed by battle, also before damage calculation if the monster summoned by the effect of "Red-Eyes Breakthrough" attacks a monster, destroy that monster.
    Red-Eyes Undying Passion
    (Counter Trap)
When your opponent targets your Red-Eyes monster with a card effect during Main Phase: Tribute 1 Red-Eyes monster on your side of the field and special summon a Red-Eyes monster from your Extra Deck with level/rank equal to tributed monster's level/rank ignoring its summoning conditions.
    Red-Eyes - Flame of Rebirth
    (Dragon/XYZ/Effect)
    Rank 7
    ATK: 2400 / DEF: 2000
    3 level 7 monsters
    - (This card is always treated as Red-Eyed Black Dragon while on the field or GY)
    - Once per turn, if a Red-Eyed monster battled this turn, you can also XYZ Summon "Red-Eyes - Flame of Rebirth" by using 1 Red-Eyes monster you control as a material. (Transfer any XYZ material this Red-Eyes card has to this card).
    - (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card, inflict 2400 damage to your opponent and if you do, XYZ Summon 'Red-Eyes" monster from your Extra Deck with a different name using this monster as a material (Transfer its XYZ materials to this card, if you can). You can use each effect of "Red-Eyes - Flame of Rebirth" once per turn.
    Red-Eyes - The Stygian Lightning
    (Dragon/XYZ/Effect)
    Rank 8
    ATK: 2400 / DEF: 2000
    3 level 8 monsters
    - (This card is always treated as Red-Eyed Black Dragon while on the field or GY)
    - While face-up on the field, when a monster effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card; banish this monster and if you do, inflict damage equal to this monster's original attack to your opponent.
    - Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: You can target one "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY or banished zone; return this card to the Extra Deck and if you do, Special Summon that monster.
Some aspects might sound unbalanced (you can kinda burn 3/4 of your opponent's Life Points, but maybe someone will start to care about Life Points eventually :v) but it's Red-Eyes, how unbalanced would that really be, let's be honest.

Okay I'm glad the video is finally up so I can express my thoughts someplace you might bother read, I was in the chat but you know how that goes. So I wanted to sat two things
    1) I hate that Lord of The Red is a ritual. Him on any other card and that is just so good. He requires to be dealt with and if he isn't he has so much potential impact to the board in a variety ways, including if you wanted to pop your own cards for whatever reason and he does it by not being the omni-negate dull interaction.
    2) One idea for the archetype that I feel wasn't touched on was the idea of leaning into the potential man idea. With all these card that already support so many different strategies fully embrace that idea. Tie the archetype together through it's name, but release cards that support other strategies, Red-Eyes Warrior cards that boost up the new Flame swordsman archetype the is also obviously Joey inspired. Make some more Red-Eyes zombie card that focus on reanimation, then release special summon dragon shenanigans for the D-Link players. You could even tie all effects together by having apply to: 1) the type of monster(warrior, dragon, zombie) and 2) The Red-Eyes cards (Red-Eyes B. Dragon, Red-Eyes Gearfried etc.) Handling it this way I feel fully leans into the "Red-Eyes=Potential" while not keeping it so bad. The running theme would be that other archetypes and cards can help Red-Eyes realize it's full potential, just like how Joey's friends helped him realize his full potential.
I don't know if you'll read this Mr. Internet Funny Man, but that's my thoughts, hope you have good and relax some.

What about a Red Eyes Imitator Dragon?
    Level 7 Dark Typ Dragon
The effect: This card is treated as an normal Monster named Red Eyes Black Dragon, when it is on the field or in your graveyard. You can special summon this card from your Hand or graveyard if you put a Red eyes monster, except Red eyes Imitator Dragon, from your hand or deck into the graveyard.
    Attack: 2400 Def: 2000
Are there flaws in this wording?
This card could solve the problem of not having a red eyes monster in your grave, wich is kinda essencial in some circumstances. Italk about the revival effect of the card "Return of the Dragonruler" spell card that helps red Eyes monster to get specialt from the grave. Also this card would help in terms of beginning to do something in the first turn (short form: this is a good starting card). And the fact that it is a LEVEL 7 RED EYES monster would help with the spell card "Cards Of The Red Stone" wich let's you draw 2 cards when sending 1 LEVEL 7 RED EYES monster from your Hand to the grave (hard once per turn). This card would solve many issues withe this arc type, but i don't know if Konami will even see this.

After playing Rush Duels, I want the Meteor Dragon Archetype.
Red-Eyes some interesting support in Rush Duels, perfectly balanced for that format. I don't think something like Meteor Black Mars Dragon, Meteor Drake or Baby Meteorite Dragon would work in TCG. But I love the focus on non-Effect Monster support.
There is a fusion spell called Meteorite Fusion or something which is a fusion spell that lets you fusion summon a monster that lists Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Meteor Dragon or Summon Skull in their cardtext using materials from your hand and your field (since hand fusing is very powerful in Rush, it is a big deal to have that restriction). If you fusion summon a non-Effect monster with this spell, destroy 1 card.
So what I would like is cards that make the non-Effect portion of Red-Eyes powerful. It is absolutely insane we don't have anything like that.

Given the number of red-eyes cards that involve dumping their cards and special summoning them, there should be red-eyes cards that gain or activate their effect from being summoned from the GY.
    Here is my idea:

    Dragon/effect Lvl 7
    2000/2000
(This card is treated as red-eyes b. dragon while on the field)
If this card is special summon from the GY reduce all your opponent's monster attacks by 2000, and if their attack is reduced to 0 destroy them
(Quick Effect): If this card is in the GY, banish 1 "red-eyes" monster, and special summon this card. You can only special summon this card using this effect once per turn
The idea is you would repeatedly special summon this card from GY (either by its own effect or something like red-eyes wyvern) and then send them to the GY (like using them as material for an extra deck monster). While doing this you are also breaking your opponent's board or weakening them while you build your own board.
This can also make use of cards of red stone as a way to dump multiple red-eyes and black metal dragons equipping it to Red-eyes Rising Dragon and then sending it to GY. I don't think it's not enough to make the archetype tier or anything but it's starting to feel more synergistic with each other

Red Eyes Zombie Chaos Dragon: Level 9 Synchro, Zombie, Dark, requires a zombie tuner and a "Red-Eyes" dragon monster as materials, if this card is synchro summoned, send cards from the top of your deck until you have the same numbers of cards as your opponent's deck (yes this is grass in an extra deck monster). You can only activate zombie monster effects, and the effects of dragon type "Red-Eyes" monsters during the turn you activated the previous effect.

This is what it would take to make Red-Eyes viable, especially if the cards require the use of the normal or gemini monsters. It would also give you a access to all the milled monsters to revive on your opponents turn with lvl 10 Zombie Red-Eyes. What could go wrong (Barrier Statues, Kristya, Jowgin, End of Anubis, ect.)

My take on amped up Red-eyes support ahould lean in on being both a Toolbox Strat as whilst adding more recursion effects. One could also add ways that you can snatch fusion material from the opponent to bring out an In-Archtype Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon or introducing new fusions with the likes of Jinzo, The Legendary Fisherman, or Insect Queen

Dire's cards are actually pretty good, but have DM syndrome, where they'll immediately be played in anything that isn't Red-Eyes. At best they'd be played with Darkness Metal Dragon and absolutely nothing else. The "If you have a Red-Eyes in your GY" is a good start, but they all needed something similar.

Here's a new card based off of Dragon Spirit of White:
    Dragon Spirit of Darkness
    Attribute: Dark
    Level: 7
    Type: Dragon/Effect
    ATK: 2400
    DEF: 2000
(This card is always treated as a "Red-Eyes" card.)
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while in the hand or GY. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 card in your opponent's GY: Banish that target. Once per turn, during either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: If your opponent activates a spell/trap card on the field: You can banish this card from your GY; then negate its activation and destroy it. You must control a "Red-Eyes" monster to activate and resolve this effect.

I think if we could make some easy to special summon Red-Eyes lv.7s you could make The Origin of the Red-Eyes a thing. But it would have to be as simple as it just activating when the burn damage happens without chaining stuff. This would let you have another really good interruption just by making Red-Eyes Darkness Flare Metal Dragon. The problem people would have though is because Red-Eyes Fusion was given such a heavy restriction instead of just locking you into Red-Eyes extra deck monsters this wouldn't lock you out of making the archetypes most powerful boss monster Dragoon. So they would have to make a less restricted version of Red-Eyes Fusion that just locks you into Red-Eyes extra deck monsters. This would allow you the potential to add layers with Bystials without allowing people to make it obscenely broken.

So, with some of the cards from the new Metalmorph support, plus the new Primoredial archetype, we got some more consistent strategies to make Red-Eyes probably the most playable it's been it years. It's not going to be one of the top decks, but it's in a state where it can be casual fun.

I liked the idea of how they did it in duel links with the skill where you are able to flip cards the turn they are set. I'd like to see them implement something like that as a fieldspell thats searchable with insight with some form of protection and recursion (added bonus is that it would allow to summon Malefic in-archetype). Personally I'd also like to see a decent red eyes monster with gy effect that you can use the turn you send it. So far Red eyes has only gy effects in either end phase or on followup turn. Paired with insight a monster with a decent gy effect might push the deck in the higher tiers, since insight sends for cost, even if your opponent uses ash to negate insight you still would be able to use the effect of the monster in gy.

Before the Pendulum format I often played red eyes with Hieratic Dragons, Atum can literally summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from the deck (Although 0/0) and you can often do rank 6 and 7 xyz with Hieratics, since if you tribute a Hieratic monster you can summon a normal monster from the deck regardless of level, enabling some fun combos, though nowadays I don't know how it would fare.

I'm sad mbt didnt show my comment so I'm going to say it here and expand on it a bit:.
Give the deck a decatron that copies a cards on field effect, then give the cards it sends a gy effect. This will hopefully make the deck a toolbox deck and showcase red eyes "potential"
I got lazy halfway through making these cards so i stopped using proper problem solving text. But i feel you'll be able to understand what i mean from these few ideas
    Red-Eyes Lightning Dragon
Light, lv7, Dragon, Effect, Atk 700, Def 500
    1. You can normal summon this monster without tributes
    2. send 1 "Red-Eyes" Monster from the deck to the GY, add that monsters atk & def to this card, then this card gains that monsters effect until the end phase.
    3. (Quick effect): send 1 "Red-Eyes" spell/trap from the deck to the GY. This effect becomes that cards activated effect.
You can only use each effect of "Red-Eyes Lightning Dragon" once per turn
(Card art is Red Eyes Black Dragon wearing gilfords armor breathing lightning.)
    Red Eyes Void Dragon
Dark, Lv7, Dragon, Effect, atk 2400 def 2000
    1. Target 1 "Red eyes" monster in the GY, special summon it in defense mode, but banish it when it leaves the field.
    2. If this card is sent to the GY by card effect, you can add 1 Level 1 dragon monster from your deck to your hand.
(This is the xyz support, and its artwork is meant to reflect that as it's a red eyes b dragon with a galaxy design)
    Red eyes Charged Sword
    Equip spell
1.Equip only to a monster you control.
    2. The monster equipped with this card can not be targeted by card effects.
    3. Once per turn, if this card is equipped to a "red eyes" monster: destroy 1 card on the field.
    4. If this card is sent to the GY: equip this card to a monster you control.
You can only use each effect of " once per turn
(Card art is gilfords sword wreathed in lighting)
    Red eyes Graverobber
    Normal trap
Banish 1 monster from your opponents GY facedown, or target 1 spell/trap in your opponents GY; this effect becomes that cards activated effect.
If this card is sent to the graveyard by card effect: add this card to your hand.
You can only use 1 effect of "graverobber" per turn, and only once that turn
    Red eyes inferno storm
    1. If you control a "red eyes" monster: Activate one of these effects
    - destroy all face up monsters your opponent controls
    - destroy all spells/traps your opponent controls
    2. If this card is in the GY (quick effect): banish this card; then destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
You can only activate one effect of "inferno storm" once per turn, and only once that turn.
    Red eyes dice draw
Roll a 6 sided dice, draw that many cards. Then place that many on the bottom of the deck +1.
If this card is in the GY, place this card and 1 "Red eyes" monster from the gy to the bottom of the deck, and if you do, draw 1 card.
You can only use one effect of "dice draw" once per turn, and only once that turn.

I would love for red-eyes to get a field spell. that says up to twice-per-turn discard a red-eyes monster then target a Gemini monster you control, it becomes an effect monster, and gain its effect. Once-per-turn special summon a red-eyes monster from your hand or grave
I would love the red-eyes version of insect queen, gilford, alligator swordman, panther warrior, battle warrior warrior, sword hunter, masked dragon, troop dragon, and others

Leaning into recursion actually makes a ton of sense with Red-Eyes' emphasis on burn. It could be turned into a deck with a strong grind game that uses repeated turn-on-turn burn effects that gradually end the game.

Just make it a Fusion deck, where the fusions are always Red-Eyes + another attribute/type, and every boss monster has a floating effect that if it leaves the field, you can special summon 1 Red-Eyes from the GY, and on your MP you can banish that boss from the GY to add 1 "polymerization" from the GY to the hand.

I've been casually obsessed with my personal Red-Eyes brew for years now, and I think what the deco needs is an in archatype way to consistently xyz and fusion summon on the same turn. It wouldn't boost it to competitive status but would make it a much more fun casual deck and possibly a viable rogue strategy. Possibly a new fusion spell without such a hard restriction or maybe in a more extreme case, an in archetype andaconda.
