- And this video we are going to walk around a GMC dealership and I found a Hummer EV selling for over $140,000 and I even saw my first look at a Silverado EV but there was a surprise we didn’t get all the info and we looked at some 1500s I do think some of them are a better Buy than Ford but GM does have the liver issue. You gotta be careful about thanks for watching. None of this is financial advice.
THE MOMENT THAT HUMMER DRIVES OFF THE LOT ITS VALUE WILL DECREASE BY 50% EV PICK UPS HAVE TERRIBLE RESALE VALUE
Overpriced garbage that won’t last 10 years. They deserve all of this.
You’re going to pay for it when they get bailout.
I got only 10 years out of my Sierra, with the 5.3, it had only 180,000kms, the engine, trans, and front diff bailed at that mileage.
GM must think they are on the same level of Rolls-Royce 😂😂
They forgot who their client base is!
It’s so sad.
Yes they have unfortunately, my neighbor has a 2023 gmc Denali pickup truck, paid 75k it decked out, but as my neighbor said that truck is nothing but junk, its has been at the dealership 5 times already and the truck only has 10k on it.
I remember when you could buy a Porsche for $100 grand. I remember you could buy Corvette $50 grand not that long ago.
Things don’t cost more. The purchasing power of the dollar is what’s eroding and FAST.
@@captmaverickable Yup every time the government turns on the printers we pay for it thorugh inflation. The national debt is no imaginary numbers. Sooner or later the roosters will come home to roost. Fractional reserve banking is the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of the world. Thomas Jefferson warned us about it.
Definitely let it rot !
Im not paying for a vehicle thats over half the cost of my house, car companies are dumb as hell these days.
Fellas I'm an electrician at the plant the EV trucks are built in. Work in the body shop. I have no illusions about that job. I'm paid $44 and change an hour plus shift premium. I also pay nothing towards my health care. I left Stellantis after 5 years. They got us working like crazy to build these things and I don't know why. I will happily take that money and bank the shit out of it. I'm putting money towards silver and gold. Strange time in the automotive industry. Since those EV Hummers have gone into production, I have seen 1 on the road. I've seen more Rivian trucks.
So there's a sucker who bought one overpriced toaster?
I remember when 50k got you a Ram Laramie 😢
Silverado EV was 98k at our local lot in central texas..its crazy
So the gmc Denali will be maybe 15000 more!
I paid 77k for a 2024 Chevy HD 2500 ZR2 with a 6.6 gas engine. Love it.
you overpaid
All of these vehicles need to be 40%-50% cheaper.
Don’t forget that tires will wear out faster than ICE trucks
Price the tires in that size for a truck, and wow…I’m guessing at least 400-500 bucks a tire.
And insurance is way more too.
Generic Motors was presented the "Japan threat" more than 50 years ago. Some product lines got marginally better, but the Toyota you buy will probably last longer.
I bought my Yaris 18 years ago.
We have a Tahoe with the 3.0L diesel my son has a gmc truck with the 3.0L diesel on the highway 30mpg plus they are really good motors
Try towing and see how long the motor lasts though.... I guess it's fine if you use the truck like you would a normal sedan to get around
Auto makers have lost their minds and respect for their customers.
These prices aren’t that high in most cities and towns. Here in Texas, prices aren’t nearly that high.
People do want it….just not willing to pay. Just like all of the gas versions….prices in general needs to come down.
That's not a bad price if their target buyers are multi-millionaires. Otherwise, not so much. 😄
Multimillionaires are wealthy because they DON'T spend money foolishly. Ask Warren Buffet.
Status symbols are not what most Americans need. They need reliable trucks priced in the $40ks. I know manufacturers won't do this, but that's what they need.
You can get a coyote V8 single cab F150 with a whipple under warranty for the same price as that single cab Sierra
The hummer is such a joke of a vehicle. Theres hardly any room in that thing too, you're just towing a heavy rock around everywhere 😂
If you own a $140,000 Hummer, you must have at least $3mm net worth. At least. I can guarantee you the person that drives that p.o.s. off the lot has negative net worth.
I actually think this is by design. During covid the manufactures realized people would line up to overpay. They earned records profits the next few years by selling fewer vehicles but at outrageous prices. Why would they go back? Low-end vehicles mean less profits per unit, more recalls and warranty repairs. They will focus on the top wage earners from now on. If that means slashing workers, closing dealerships, closing factories, moving production to Mexico, and losing money in the short term they will do it.
It's a risky bet. CEOs are sitting on ejector seats.
Look at the bright side! In 10 years that EV Hummer will be at some used car lot with balloons tied to the bumpers and a sign “Make an offer” in the window
Rusting away, worn off paint and a dying battery.
Two vehicles, one 18 yo one 16 yo. One 2.2 Ecotec, one 2.9 Vortec. My mechanic has told me to NEVER get rid of these two vehicles. Normal maintenance. Normal repair and replace. No dramas. One son has had three GMCs over 8 years and the only thing keeping him there is that his wife likes the vehicle.
Why is the wife calling the shots 😂
@@quantifiablyqorrect2905 First tranny died @134K out of warrenty and price to replace the tranny made replacing the car the best route. Identical vehicle and the tranny in the second died at 64K. Published recall made the second one on GM mostly. It's a nice vehicle except for that, but I still wouldn't have it.
Wet belt technology is an issue on another model
I think that denali ev will sell being its so new. But id take the Hummer 3x long before that. Saw one the other day at wholesale. 65k 2024 4k miles. 3x but not that special package.
Id rather spend 40k for that toyota next to it
Living in a city I need an overpriced Hummer like a hole in the head...
$140K for a $30K pickup.
I'd take that Hummer EV for 50k.
You couldn't give it to me.
@rgp8038 You drive a hard bargain but you got yourself a goddamn deal!
50k should get you anything you want period. Shame on all of them. Do not go broke for transportation. Get. A reliable safe vehicle and stop giving away all your money.
Only a few hacks in the Obiden Administration could afford this whopping price.
Electric avalanche 😂no thanks
I'd rather buy a fleet of Tesla. They tell you the price upfront and will never price gouge you.
I can get a hummer for less than 140k.
40k is too much
Compare oweners cost to ice vehicles
I wouldn't consider buying ev if it's not cheaper than a v8
This guy gets excited when a basic truck is slightly below 70k, look even with a 6 year plan this pile of junk will cost you over 1200 a month, and will fall apart after 5 years warranty ends, the way most people fail to maintain and abuse these vehicles its a looming nightmare.
I didn't think they made real trucks anymore. Everyone I see on the road is 20+ years old.
Chevy ev junk not worth 🤣😂
that hummer looks like a fj cruiser lmao
The auto crash will be worse than 2008 and it will open the window for Chinese automakers to enter the North American marker.
Middle class folks are priced out. Buy a used truck and performed some repairs. Much cheaper.
Bi Lan
😂
Why dont you tell people about GM.s active fuel management garbage they been selling consumers for 20 years , how it destroys the lifters and the engine? overpriced, homes, used and new cars, , appliances , furnace . ac, its all a gouging nightmare,
I said they have lifter issues in the video
And transmission issues
Get a job trump did it
Do you remember how they sold us these electric cars would be all around cheaper, mwell that never happened why would anybody thats not rich buy something like this when it can not come close to a gas vehicle, ole elon who was not born in america but has become americas genius has gotten billions from tax credits 10,000 a car, and i guarantee you i think these cars will go away just as they have in past
You can probably tow a trailer for 100 miles with that $170,000.00 piece of electric junk.
Wow.
