Official note about the 1.6 update from the creator of MARGO, DaLion: "Since a lot of people have been asking about MARGO update this will be my official announcement about it: Obviously a lot has changed in 1.6. Not just in terms of base game code changes, but also new content. Both of these things have huge impact to MARGO. MARGO was originally coded to make surgical changes to the vanilla code (i.e. mostly transpilers) in order to be as lightweight as possible, and that has gloriously backfired since now most of it needs to be rewritten. And there's no way to know in advance what needs to be rewritten, which means effectively I need to redo everything. MARGO is a huge mod with almost 200 of these surgical changes and hundreds of thousands of lines of code. Imagine my enthusiasm to get started. With the new content changes, several MARGO features are obsolete, yet others will need to be rebalanced. That is to say, it's not just a matter of updating the code, but conceptually the whole mod needs to be revised. So the TL;DR: - Yes, I do intend to update it. - No, I have not even started. - When I do, it will take time. May not even come out this year. - Whenever the update comes out, it will probably be a very different mod. I suggest everyone try out Kedi's talent mod when that comes, which will be much sooner than the MARGO update. Please help to spread the message if you see people asking about MARGO." I'm a huge fan of MARGO, love to see it getting highlighted. For people coming from Skyrim modding, the creators intention here (from posts) are to make "Enairim" for Stardew, and they knocked it out of the park.
Enairim is basically essential to playing Skyrim and I can definitely see MARGO getting to that point, even if I haven't played it myself. reminded me of project nevada for new vegas, a lot of new stuff and changes but heavily customizable
@@kittyshippercavegirl It's a modding style that I've come to love whenever I see it. Total overhaul focused on interlocking systems and balance improvements. Customizable to the nth degree, and thoroughly fun. I run MARGO and Balanced Valley (another mod focused on making balance changes to various item values to even out playstyles and change up how crops work) alongside various other things. It's a difficult mod list comparative to others I've seen, but the added difficulty makes things like automate feel less cheaty.
The professions module is my favourite thing to keep long modded playthroughs interesting. Prestiging skills is such a satisfying system and keeps me actually fishing and gathering late game when I might otherwise just rely on farm artisan goods.
I remember this mod as the walk of life mod which I thought stopped updating. Good to know it expanded since it really creates a fresh gameplay experience.
so weird that I have never heard of this before even though I've been using mods for quite some time now and watched dozens of videos. Seems very very interesting, definitely gonna give that a look for the next playthrough. Thanks so much!
For anyone wondering, the mod has been split into a couple mods by DaLion, uploaded by VonLoewe on Nexus. The main one is Walk of Life Rebirth, but that only has the profession changes, with the other changes being in the other mods
I've been considering this mod for a while now! Especially for the gemstone music theory stuff you get with the rings. When 1.6 releases, I'm def starting a new playthrough 😊 Great stuff as always!
tbh I like the taxes module. It makes things so much more challenging. I kind of really disliked how once I became good at the game... it was super easy to basically get infinite money by summer.
I think I will turn the tax one off. If the Republic wanted my taxes, I wouldn't have to make all of the public works happen by myself while they ignore the broken bus, bridge, etc.
I feel like the base game even implies that Lewis could have used the taxes from other shops to fix all this stuff, but embezzled the funds to build a gold statue of himself instead. >:(
I dunno why I thought it was hilarious seeing the character melee-attacking with a slingshot, because I'm picturing the character going "shitshitshitshit--" while frantically hitting the enemy
I've been playing with MARGO for a bit. I like that upgrading weapons is a bit more of a challenge now, but also much more satisfying in the end. My main weapon is an infinity dagger with four garnets for cooldown reduction. I have an infinity ring with a bunch of different gems that form a "chord" and cause the gems in the dagger to "resonate" as well, bringing the overall cooldown reduction to 100%. My other ring is a combined napalm/slime charmer ring, which still works like vanilla. I have a buff from the "demolitionist" profession that gives a small speed boost after being in an explosion. All this together means that, while I don't have a large area for attacks, I can one hit most enemies with the dagger's special, get a speed boost from the napalm-ring explosion, quickly dash to the next enemy, and repeat.
I actually have never been SO convinced to get a SDV mod before to try out. I typically play vanilla and watch these mod videos for fun, but this overhaul is INSANE! The prestige part has me incredibly curious. It makes me want to create a copy of my most played save file and mess around with it to see how quickly I could get to level 10 from 1 with my current setup.
The combat stuff overwhelms me unreasonably - literally just listening to you talk about it for five minutes was stressing me out. My combat style is "hit it until it dies, while tanking damage and eating in between fights." However, since all that is configurable, the ability to get quality artisan goods and several of the other features...very tempting...
I agree with this quite a bit, honestly if I were to use this myself, the only combat things I'd use would be the Slingshot and Ring modules. I do wish there was a bit more love spread out to things like farming and fishing.
@@salmence100 That's the best part, the Wabbajack is in vanilla Skyrim. It's just so weird and chaotic that it *must* be something modded in, nope. I'll take the taxes if there's some sort of credit system, too. Like, I walk all the way to Robin's for a barn, get there 20 minutes before she closes, and find I am 87g short, or need 20 pieces of wood. Let me buy it anyway, and have a week (or whatever time amount) to come back and pay, so I won't have wasted that time.
if you think about it. 10% crit damage is different than 10% attack bonus. if crit is 4x damage, then consider how often you crit. if your damage is 200 per hit, then a crit is 800 dmg. 10% is plus 80. while 10% attack is plus 20. so i guess if you crit every 1-4 attacks, then the 10% crit is good. but if it takes more than 4 attacks then i get what you mean. i havent played since 1.5 release so i forgot the max damage in the game. probably much lower than 200 lol.
So I saw this video and downloaded the mod yesterday and I just went to update some other mods today to see that this mod is now deleted can anyone confirm if it's gone or if it's just on my end
Since people are still commenting as of today... I went to get the mod but smapi skips it cause "its missing the .dll". I found one more person to report this, but they have no answer either... can anyone help?

Like, I walk all the way to Robin's for a barn, get there 20 minutes before she closes, and find I am 87g short, or need 20 pieces of wood. Let me buy it anyway, and have a week (or whatever time amount) to come back and pay, so I won't have wasted that time.
nice, they added my favorite thing for my favorite game, tax evasion
if you think about it.
Finally... Taxes Update
So I saw this video and downloaded the mod yesterday and I just went to update some other mods today to see that this mod is now deleted can anyone confirm if it's gone or if it's just on my end
Gone for me too
yes the mod is gone
It's not just you
looks like the git lab and git hub links to this mod return with a 404 error is this mod just gone from the internet?
It seems like he may have delisted it since it's not updated for 1.6 yet. Sooo looks like there's no link for it anywhere for now.
"now you might be wondering 'is that it?'
NO!!"
Is it compatible with SVE?
I was today years old when I learned I have been using Plasma Kirby completely wrong.
Since people are still commenting as of today... I went to get the mod but smapi skips it cause "its missing the .dll". I found one more person to report this, but they have no answer either... can anyone help?
Turning off my tax module to simulate REAL tax evasion gameplay
