Fighting mike tyson in his prime would just be insane. No matter how much you train, your head is still just skin and skull. While you can strengthen your neck, it must be pure hell to be hit in the face by such a strong hit

@@skorge987987 I'm by no means a boxing expert or historian, but I heard that before the Holyfield fight he was in peak partying/drug addiction/depression/not giving an f about anything mode and was not in peak shape. PRIME Mike in peak form was the greatest fighter since Muhammad Ali.
Same thing happened to chuck liddell, get hit in the head too much and your body ends up trying to protect you and just shuts you down when you get hit after that, resulting in the glass jaw.
Nah it's just you don't heal up to what you used to be, especially after a broken jaw. Even after breaking my ankle, for the rest of my life I have to be careful while boxing, if I take a misstep my outer ankle bone will just pop out of place and then it'll take weeks to heal. I can imagine the same thing happens after having a broken jaw, it's not as strong as it once was.
Like in Jujitsu if you've ever broken a bone, that shit will break again easy af so you gotta be careful not to let anyone get into a position where they can snap it, they could use a regular amount of force and it will break a lot easier
@@tehonlygod There is multiple theories what OP posted was one the second one is the connective tissue just never recovers over time cause your brain gets jostled around and at some point it just tries to preserve what is left so it becomes like an off switch

The people arguing its an early stop have no idea who iron Mike was in his prime. He's come close to killing people multiple times in the ring. Even if it's early in some circumstances when you're going against a juggernaut that can literally punch your head off different rules apply.

Boxing can still be exciting (Fury/Wilder trilogy, Canelo/GGG, etc.) but its definitely not as exciting as Tyson fights.
Boxing seems more technical now and defensive based, back then it was slug fests, i enjoy both tbh, but i would recommend watching kickboxing if you want to see those slug fests nowadays, check glory and one fc.

I like how boxing was represented back then. The stage, the commentators, the fighters, and the overall look felt genuine.
Also there was much more respect between the fighters appreciating the sport rather than seeing who is "manlier" than the other

Mike Tyson was a great fighter but sadly he existed in a time where there weren't any great challengers for him to face off against. Take a look at Ali's time and he had a ton of great names in their prime... George Foreman, Joe Frasier, Ken Norton to name a few. Who did Tyson fight? It isn't his fault but I think it sucks. On a side note, does anyone out there think any HW in history could beat Tyson Fury? I would have to vote no. I think he beats Mike Tyson, Ali, Frasier, you name it.
