- In this vlog I'm out in the farm with Josese and Momo Saula. We are there to add the second manure on to the ginger farm as three months has passed by now. Josese and Momo Saula is showing us the process of doing it in order for the gingers to grow big and healthy when we harvest it in March 2023.
Josese is showing us how to plant corn in the village. He is showing different techniques in order for me to learn and plant it myself one day. This time of the year in Fiji it's very hot and we could feel the sun. Therefore we worked fast and rested in the shadow until we were done.

Corn is delicious….my cuzzies (maternal side in Nadroga) plant corn as one of their main crops. When a major rugby game is held in the West -- they are all busy harvesting, cooking and packing corn in 44 gallon drums…. And it is a very HOT QUICK SELL FOR THE DAY. 🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽

Its just tobbaco leaf wrapped with paper, we Fijians prefer it over cigarettes since it is a bit safer and very cheap.

Yeah always hardwork farming to sell respect to you guys. If farm for own use subsistence is easy always more than enough throughout the years.
We farmed ginger and corn as well for own use all of them.
Prince Josese is true corn farming gives more money.
One good way is to pack it frozen like mixed vegetables. Add in some carrots beans eggplants and have a sealer machine seal it frozen it sell it.

My country call Laupele..we use onion n Lil bit oil to frie it first n then put coconut milk just boil it for maybe 10min then eat time I love it man that wanna the veggies that is hard to find here 🇺🇸 let me knw how you guys cook that laupele? 👍 👌 OneluvfrmCali

We hardly use manure as we use for own consumption. Just organic straight forward farming tecniques.
1. Every morning water the farms say good morning to all plants sing songs to it.
2. Weed it mostly by pulling the grass because not tall or many grasses at all.
3. Put the peelings of crops fruits vegetables not compost but straight away peeled the dalo baseisei take the pillings and put them on the soil just like that. The crops fruits vegetables grows well
4. Always sprinkle salt a bit sea salt from shops every evening to make them tasty when matured ready for harvest.
Simple farming techniques we used as it is for own use.
