In defence of the Clap death. I find it very fitting it is in a small panel. His death was sudden and meaningless. It wasn't some big event. It just happened. Personally, i find that more shocking because it catches you by surprise. Good video, btw. I'm going to binge what you've made so far.
Great point about Clap! I can see how minimizing the significance of his death may have been intentional. But I don't think it should have been such a small panel that you don't even realize that he's dead. Just widen that panel slightly and we good lol
I would go further and say it was extremely intentional to be this way. Also Werb said in his paneling analysis that it would be jarring to have a big Kuma crying panel twice on the same double page

I know this video released a little before it started but the vegapunk speech has ruined the pacing for this arc beyond repair for me. I'm ready to move on to the next arc so bad.😅

Good video dude, even though I don't agree with everything you have said I overall mostly do agree with your points. I'm hoping or I should say coping that these issues don't persist in the future at least as much. I do agree that, this is the time for Oda to go all out because the story is in it's final saga because of that we need to get all the reveals and One piece needs to end with a bang and not have a bad ending like Aot or even just an Ok ending but we still have alot of time till the series ends and I believe that Oda will go all out during the very moments and for all the important character writing especially for the strawhats. Anyways, with all that yammering aside this was a good first video. Honestly miles better than some of the big anime RUclipsrs like Gigguk or in the one piece community Ohara, but I hope you improve your editing because it's not bad but it's pretty bland like for example you had a single volume cover on your screen for way longer than necessary. I'm not asking for you to edit with lighting speeds and have billion effects, just edit the way you want to but do it well.

In regards to editing, I realize my editing could be better and will work to improve it. This maybe random but could you try reading kingdom its basically what one piece would be if they fix these issues. Tho it's really long like 800 chapters
After the recent chapters, it looks to me like a lot of your points come simply from not seeing the bigger picture of the arc. For example the Stellas have all reached a purpose now and when you binge the arc they really aren't an issue. They have very little screen time(some of them not even reaching 100 Panels) and what they do in the story is worth what it took to have 6 side characters. Regarding their purpose besides the traitor mystery, I think each of them serve a thematic purpose to Vegapunks character. Shaka gets killed by York symbolizing Vegapunks greedy side destroying his rationality. The fighting side of Vegapunk does a great sacrifice. Phytagoras who is Wisdom is the first of them to die and by his own creations the Seraphim, so Vegapunks Wisdom is not just his gift but also his curse. Also funnily enough the only good Vegapunk remaning is the one who stands for evil which is interesting. Also just now in 1121, Bonney finally got a revenge hit on Saturn with a lot of emotional flashback panels, so your point about that emotional core being overshadowed has become outdated. Even the example you used with Ennies Lobby doesn't support your argument, because there also was the same structure. Robin had her big emotional I want to live moment and then she got sidelined until the finally, while all the cp9 battles were in the focus. What do you think?
When it comes to the Satellites, I don't think the thematic purpose you identified is enough to justify their existence. Themes aren't enough, the characters have to be interesting on their own. I don't think any of the satellites were fleshed out all that well, with the exception of Shaka before his death. If you ask me, I would've done away with Atlus, Pythagoras, and Edison, in favor of some character writing for the Straw Hats. In regards to Bonney and Saturn, I think I should have been more clear in the video. It was my first video so I wasn't as good at formulating my thoughts. At Enies Lobby, the goal of the arc from start to finish was 'Save Robin'. Fighting CP9 and escaping the Buster Call all centers around that goal. So even if Robin isn't necessarily featured in a scene, the story revolves around her. That keeps the narrative focused. At Egghead, when it was just Saturn and Kizaru, the focus was on 'Stop Saturn, the man who ruined Kuma and Bonney's lives'. But once the giants and other Elders appeared, it became 'Stop Vegapunk from revealing the Elders secrets'. No longer is the Bonney and Kuma story the focus. That personally rubs me the wrong way, to sideline Kuma after that beautiful flashback.

Secondly, I understand your point about Kuma now and I get your frustration, but I think the narrative frame of the arc is not Kumas and Boneys story, but Vegapunks. The big goal of the arc was to help Vegapunk escape from the island. Once he died the goal changed to simply surviving and escaping the escalating chaos and danger, to the backdrop of Vegapunks world shattering message. So if you look at the arc as Vegapunks Story while seeing Kuma Boney as the emotional support that is there to 1)show Saturns evilness, 2)show the theme of free will being impossible to surpress in a great dramatic way, 3)to have character setup for Bonney in the future because she will clearly keep being a big deal in the story. I might just be coping and the writing might really be messy lol

My idea is that he simply has shifted the his storries focus from the emotional character story telling to a more epic world focused story where he explores themes and does drama more through the bigger picture and less through the main characters. The reason why we all have an issue is that the change was so drastic and most of us love One piece for those characters. I personally am a fan of the modern direction of the story telling, but I also miss the Straw Hats focus

Franky's been a disappointment for sure. I love how Oda has him near Luffy and Sanji the whole arc. It's like he wanted to give him more to do but backed out last minute. Also... is Bonnika a thing? That's new to me 😂

You talk about unnecesarry characters but who do you mean exactly? Even in Dressrosa pretty much every character had a purpose in the end. You also have been wrong about the Vegapunks. Edison and Atlas were crucial to the Strawhats escape and Lilith will probably even travel with them after the end of the arc. Also Bonney just had a great moment that made her and Kumas story come full circle. Its also pretty obvious at this point that Kuma also will have at least one last important scene. This just shows that you should never make videos like this before the end of an arc. Oh and btw: If a very clear majority of people enjoy the manga and praise Oda then maybe you should simply accept that you are in the minority with your opinion and suck it up.
If Atlas and Edison only exist to sacrifice themselves to help the Straw Hats escape, then I think that is a fairly weak justification for their existence. At the end of the day, they along with Pythagoras are very weak characters that could've been removed in favor of Oda giving the Straw Hats interesting character writing. Also, saying I should suck it up because I don't fall in line with the so called 'majority' is incredibly toxic. Learn to accept criticism :)

The slightest of reading comprehension will tell you that just helping out the straw hats to escape is not enough reason to create those 2 characters. Oda could hv thought of other methods like having sengoku help them escape or something else. Now the extra satellites take character focus away from the straw hats that need it desperately. Let me ask you why exactly are the giants in egghead they basically have not done anything important except fight(which could hv been done by the strawhats mind you.) there hv been WAY too much characters in egghead. The vice admirals didn't feel important and that is his point. With the over bloating of characters. Each character has less time for character exploration. Which is a major issue with the strawhats since post timeskip. We hv so many strawhats that need character focus namely Robin(who is a glorified narrator at this point), NAMI, chopper, brook, Zoro, Franky even usopp. But instead we're focusing on kid and law getting whipped out and seeing the other gorosei. One piece has slowly gone from by far having the best main cast in anime(or the big 3) to having a mediocre main cast.
Egghead hadn't started 2-3 years ago so not sure on that. I don't think the length has necessarily been a problem but to each their own. Thanks for watching!
