I remember the first time, I had someone playing the Arabic drums. It was in my college and it gave some much joy to hear the music even know I’m not from the Middle East but it’s because where I come from we play the African drums for our traditional music and it made think how amazing music can be.

This takes some extreme practice to pull off, if someone plays like this they are at the expert level of percussion.
It's also cultural. In many Arab weddings you'll find people who know how to play this instrument.
