Hopefully at some point I can get your foods in the uk. Just started watching your videos recently and love the way you do things for your Discus. I have been trying to find a food that isn't beef heart and have struggled. Keep up the great work your doing 👍

them discus this look great do you clean the base of the tank straight after feeding and how strong is the water flow? I have a canister filter and a sponge filter in my 300 L tank, but I have turned my canister halfway down would that be too slow.

@shelleraquatics that would be brilliant. I know a lot of people that are having issues with beef heart. I have stopped feeding that and had no issues like I did before

I do water changes in the mornings. Water flow is strong vertically so there is heavy flow at the surface. This drives ton of oxygen into the water to offset heavy feedings, especially for the younger fish.

@alanpitkeathly6752 I agree 100% it definitely grows fish but I stopped feeding it years ago. The fish can't process the meat properly so it causes internal issues and is extremely hard on the liver and digestive tract.

12:22 What kind of vitamins with metronidazole, specifically, please?
Another question: I have some wild Altum angels since December (5 months) that are reluctant to eat. I've tried a lot of dry and frozen foods and they love the Hikari blood worms and some frozen mysis, but the only dry foods they eat are some krill flakes. They will not care for any of the freeze dried cubes of any sort either. What else do you recommend, please? I want to stop giving those frozen blood worms. Thanks.

99.9% metronidazole. I just sold my Wild Altums for this exact reason. They would only eat frozen bloodworms and frozen shrimp. The cost just didn't make sense for me anymore. They were a rare Altum the "Rio Vichada". I did get them eating Daily Delight but just picking at it and also some pellets but never attacking the food. It was frustrating and very expensive. I had 10 total and was hoping to breed them but I was offered a lot of money so they were sold to make room for new projects

I was feeding my freeze dried blackworms, even though they were expensive I felt like it was a better value because they contained no water, where the frozen foods you are paying for over 90% water

@@shelleraquatics Thanks, is there any multi vitamin we can buy over the counter to supply all that?
Yeah, it's very hard to feed them dry food. I'm willing to keep trying though. It was my dream since I was a kid in the 80's. They are the ultimate and hardest fish to keep in their optimal IMO.
How did you feed the dry blood worms? I've tried couple times just to pollute the system cause they wouldn't even attack the cube. And it is very had to feed them. They normally get scared and flee to the back of the other side of the tank under the protection of some Vallisneria I have for them. They look amazing, but I know those frozen worms have bacteria and will give me problems. I guess I just have to keep trying. Too bad you gave up. Those from Rio Vichada are amazing.
