    wow! Within the first 2 minutes. You said the most significant thing. I've been yapping about this for years, to people.
    These solid-state transistorized 1176's. Actually take approximately, 3-4 hours to come up to proper operating temperature. Because the heat given off by transistors is extremely low. And it takes a good long while. Before any adjustments should be made. And I am impressed with you, sir. No one else has really bothered to ever mention that. That really very important one thing. Hours worth of warm up time necessary. Before you adjust them. Before you use them. I mean you can use them sooner but, why? They're not going to be ready to go. The way they are intended to.
    Finally an actual engineer that knows what they're talking about.
