Huge respect to Timothy Schmitt for his shout out to Randy. That’s a classy guy
i agree and his words gave Randy with big smiles Timothy a nice guy it seems guess he stayed out of the arguments with frey and henley they wanted all the attention you could tell Bernie did not wan to be there with them and i don't blame him
Tim always was nice, it's also nice 2/3 of the former eagles members are on good terms with the band
Tim is pure class
And oh my gosh he was so GORGEOUS!!!!❤️😍🔥🔥🔥
Randy has every right to be there. Take that applause. You deserve it Randy. Thank you. Great group. X
Man, he was so VITAL to their sound. It's not the Eagles without him!
I liked Timothy Schmidt's speech the best, definitely a true class act.
The Eagles is the living proof that
"The Whole is Greater than the Sum of its Parts" - Aristotle
LOVE that Timothy gave props to Randy Meisner. Classy and it was well deserved
yup! it made me more inlove with timmy..What a class act
Randy was/is a great singer and player. Tim is great bass player but I always thought his voice, for lead vocals anyway, was a bit wimpy. Regardless, he really was the only one who could replace Meisner and he did the job. It's great that makes the acknowledgement.
He’s such a sweet and humble and highly talented man!!!
Timothy B Schmit is what as known as a Class Act!
Much gratitude to Timmy on recognizing Randy being a founder of this great American band! They are all excellent musicians some better than others. Loved Randy's voice.
Timothy is a gem. What a sincere little speech. And Joe is still Joe, the wild card that everybody loves.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
Interesting that Glen felt the need to comment on the tensions that existed between members since he's the one that caused most of them.
Pure guilt
@@miko1975guitar I don't think he has ever come accross as anything but being a jerk
Of course he did - because you were there and witnessed it ..🤔
@@scrimmy45 when you see the documentary, it gives you a good idea of the dynamic in that band. It was Glenn's band, that's obvious if you watch this, Henley is a big part of it and very instrumental, but Glenn is the CEO. He isn't easy to deal with but the others are supposed to accept it and a few of them have successfully remained eagles because they accept it. Joe accepted coming into the band that he was not going to be a frontman, prominent songwriter or lead singer and he was a humble man, he respected Don and Glenn as they were leaders of the band, and accepted that. Timothy felt like they saved his ass when they hired him to replace Randy, and felt like it would be audacious to question them. Felder had an agreement with them, he wanted them to uphold their end of the agreement like gentlemen.....THEY ARE NOT, and he found that out. Randy and Bernie are cooperating as they likely know that Felder and Joe had to advocate for them to be a part of this ceremony as D&G saw them as irrelevant as they had left the band during the mid 70s and had been adequately replaced. Bernie looks like he would love to expose Glenn as a piece of shit that he is but he's too much of a gentleman. He will never see him again and he is okay with that
Dude was a total jerk
Without Don Felder, the EAGLES do not deserve such award!!!
So happy Randy was there. I'll never forget when he shared his dinner and some of his Italian wine with me, and then we split the dessert. What a sweet and kind man. At first I addressed him as Mr. Meisner ( I was taught respect), and he gently patted my hand and said "Just call me Randy, dear." I think I blushed into the following week.
Nice story Lillie. Is that an encounter you got with him post band leave? Can you recall if you remember getting to split dessert with an Eagles member?
Randy. Just pure class. Take it to the limit!!
Simply the one of the worlds greatest bands of all time!! Good to see Randy!!
I met Randy once. What an awesome person.
I can imagine. Virtually everyone who's spoken about him has stressed what a nice bloke he was. An impressive talent and an incredibly genuine and humble person.
What Timothy did was no surprise. That's just Tim being Tim, which makes him a terrific human being. I feel sorry for Glenn. Somewhere on the journey, he forgot what it was all about. And thank you Don Felder. If it wasn't for "Fingers", we wouldn't have Hotel California, arguably the best rock song of all time.
Timothy B Schmidt is all class.
Frey's speech was good but his actions since betray what he said this night.Timothy is very humble and respectful and Frey and Henley could learn a thing or two from him.
TBS really was all grace wasn't he? Randy didn't expect the tribute and hugged Timothy afterwards, making the moment even better.
Henry Plummer Apparently Tim and Randy hugged in the lobby of the Hotel they were staying at and said they should have done this years ago.(Play together).I wish these guys could let bygones be bygones and play together one last time not just for the fans but themselves.
Funny. I didn't even see your comment and as soon as Timothy was done I said, 'Wow, that was classy!' lol
well said
Randy is such a humble guy. Best voice in the Eagles.
i'm with you all the way!
I'm with both of you....Hey how about the 3 of us form a band?
I live 50 miles from his hometown. Makes me feel like a 4th-rate celebrity.
Frijolero18 and that would be.... Scottsbluff?
Stephen Silva yup
The Eagles have never been as good as they were with Walsh and Felder playing together. No disrespect to Bernie, but there was an awesome chemistry with Joe and Don playing together. Take away their guitar riffs and the Hotel California album would have been just another album.
Especially since Felder wrote the song. I agree.
@@tpowell453 Well, he co-wrote the song. That said, it never would have happened if he hadn't come up with that classic guitar part/progression.
I agree with that
Don stated that playing with Joe Walsh made them both better players because there was a constant competition . Neither wanted to be bested by the other. For that I am grateful. We were the ones that benefited from that.
Leadon + Felder was a great combination too.
This is the way the Hall of Fame awards should always be-both founding members and new members actually getting along and accepting together-no fighting-true class.
+elphue s. What's their beef with Randy??
+Vortigan07 Or what's Randy's beef? i heard he wanted to suicide and kill his wife and some other folks. Hard to believe though.
+SecretYoungLink007 I thought he just got tired of Glenn's shit and left. They had a big fight ONSTAGE before he left in '80 i believe. But even before then, when doing the Hotel California tour, Randy wasn't hitting the high notes on "Take it to the Limit"... Randy wanted someone else to do it or drop the song completely from the setlist. Glenn basically told him to stop being a pussy and to do it.
+Sitizen Kane The videoed disagreement is in the History of the Eagles in Part 2 . Oh Glenn was pissy during the concert, so was Randy and it got ugly. Randy walked out, went surfing they said lol....... oh the good days when people would just move on with no hard feelings. (they had eternal hard feelings) I am not a believer in saying good-bye, life never lets you know when you shall see someone again. Mentally, songs of the eagles will be a fabric in my life forever, wont ever wash out or fade. Just will continue to sound awesome! Glenn, take it easy
+barbee0715
This is how society should be. It's not about who gets the credit like society teaches, but, how many lives it enhances and how many more will be positively impacted in the future. We've lost way too much "community" over the last few decades and replaced it with "individuality" and self-righteousness. As McDonald's founder, Ray Kroc once stated, "NONE OF US IS AS GOOD AS ALL OF US"
I think Timothy Schmit is a fine example of how a person should be and that Henley and Frey can learn a thing or two from Timothy.
So true.
So very true, if only Glen could look at things the same way as Timothy, the reunion tours would have put all of these guys on stage together, and given the fans who have supported them and made them who they are what WE deserve before time runs out. As a bass player I know two guys on stage together can pull it off. Hell even take turns for crying out loud. Styx often times does this on tours..... Let it go Glen
Matthew Dagnan Am I missing something or is their a back-story? I thought both were OK in their part of the speech. Please enlighten me if I am not aware of something.
That was *so* classy what Timothy did, you can tell Randy was really moved and appreciative.
Agree Daisy, it meant a lot to Randy, you could tell. Classy as hell. And rocksvids88 it would take way too long to try and explain the backstory. I recommend you watch the history of the Eagles on Netflix and or the interview on Howard Stern with Don Felder. Really interesting stuff for a true fan
Two great men Randy and Tim
What a gracious gesture by Timothy Schmitt. Very Classy Timothy.
I was sad when Randy left and wasn't all that impressed with Mr. Schmitt at first. That has changed over the years. This sole act of recognition and respect given to Randy shows what a true gentleman he is, Kudos!
“You honor us, therefore you honor yourselves.” Oh Glen, humble as always.
Wonderful recognition by Tim Schmitt of Randy Meisner...
That's what I call respect!
+juandiamante46
I agree, he really showed class, dignity and respect. Schmitt is a great musician in his own right, but no one ever sang "Take It To The Limit" like Randy Meisner.
The Eagles played this song in B back when RM sang lead. After he left they had to drop it two whole steps to the key of G (with Glenn Frey singing lead). Nobody could hit those high notes like Randy did. Frey didn't even try, even with the song dropped two keys.
I kinda like Randy, can ya tell?
Hotel California was their signature song, but I think Take It To The Limit was right behind that one in musical significance. Meisner has first writing credit on the song, he truly had a significant impact on what I consider to be the finest musical act of the 1970s.
indeed!!! humble man Timothy
That made me so happy
+Mike Deason - Well said...
Timothy is 1 Class Act
Thanking Randy🤩🌟🎸
Randy was always my favorite. His voice and his songs always ran a little deeper. Take it to the Limit, Try and Love Again, Certain Kind of Fool...long time favorites. Thanks Randy. ✌Mike Pardue. 🎼🎶🎵🎸🎹🥁🎤🎶
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
the way how timothy perform is the same thing how he act.Very classy...Thumbs up for this man so humble and beautiful
Don Felder will always be my favorite Eagle. Henley and Frey wrote great songs. Felder polished them into great compositions.
Fielder was a excellent guitarist; however he could not sing nor write songs.
@@hrsnrnd10 he wrote hotel California
@@jerrypeal653 He had pieces of it and Glenn and Don Henley finished it. He would have pieces to build on.
@@hrsnrnd10 Felder wrote the music for Hotel California
Good choice. Mine are Joe Walsh, Don Henley and Felder.
Does anyone else find this really heartbreaking? Glenn is gone, Randy is not well, Don Felder is shunned...very sad. What a great band.
Don Henley is still touring and putting out music.
Not really the true Eagles anymore, its become more like a Eagles tribute band, sad 😞
@@deanladue3151 i still love them though i do give props for them all not just Don and Frey but them all they all had a hand in the music they did. honestly i always forget that Don is the drummer since he's lead on so many songs. i know Genesis has Phil singing the lead but there really aren't that many bands that i can think of where the drummer sings the vast majority of the songs. hence why i forget that Don is the Drummer.
i really wish that Felder and Frey would have made up i saw what he said about him when he died it was very sweet. i have a feeling it won't be like that when Don at some point passes away but who knows maybe i'm wrong? i don't think it was just Felder but also Frey and Don as well that had to do with why they had a fallen out.
I don't find it heartbreaking. People grow old, that's what they do. I listen to the great music they made back in the day and appreciate that. They're going to age no matter what.
Loved the band but they totally fucked Don Felder
Henley and Frey may have written the majority of the hits but Timothy my fave always the true gentleman with heart thanking Randy...I'd like to thank him too.
I like Timothy but don't you think that Randy was far more talented? They still haven't been able to replace his vocals (lead or background).
***** so true...and hardly a chance for Henley & Frey to develop hate for Timothy (lol)..
Stephen Silva LOL@hardly a chance for Henley & Frey to develop hate for Timothy"
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuff Bud Not that Timothy wasn't talented.. He was. It's just that he seemed like a 'yes man' which made things easier for Glenn and Don.
Of course!! Can you imagine how fortunate Timothy feels to be asked to join a band as legendary as the Eagles? You KNOW he will be humble
I do not know the whole deal, but Don Felder is a TRUE gentleman and excellent musician.
Which u just admitted that you don't know.
@Clarence Hamm i hope you don't mean he "got it in the end" because he got sick and died, because that wouldn't make you much of a "class act".
I think don Felder and Timothy b schmidt just seem like the nicest guys. Down to earth and very polite and kind. Randy meisner too
@@plasticweapon Class has nothing to do with it. Sometimes people get what they deserve. Period.
Before they were famous, Don gave Tom Petty his first guitar lesson, down in their native Florida back in the '60s.
Tim Schmidt's one nice classy guy. How modest and cool of him.
very true
Rich Speers I wish I could give you 100 thumbs up on that one
Timmy is such a class act...just womderful
yes and he is so beautiful my God
Thank U Tim for beautiful words to Randy
For all the beautiful music this group produced from the 1970's through now, they deserve this place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Outstanding quality on instruments and vocals.
Timothy B. Schmitt is pure class!
Bitter sweet watching this. Great memories of the Eagles and Jimmy Buffett.
Great to see that Randy could make it, looked so good and played so well. So very modest of him in his minimal "thank you's" and so very kind of T.B.Schmit to acknowledge his influence in the trenches early in the bands career, hard for someone who's not an "alpha" male God.bless both of them. Randy's Eagles songs are so very much "his" as opposed to strictly "Eagles" songs. Nice to see that they all were courteous.
Don Felder so talented, super guy...one of the great Dons
The bass players in this band seem like the nicest guys you can meet. I would want to be in a band with those guys
You are right
They were timid, they should have stood up to the bullying of henley and frey.
In Donald Felder 's excellent book "Heaven And Hell" he said the rest of the band called Henley and Frye "The Two Gods" .
Joe Walsh and Randy all the way!! And Timmy Schmidt is a class act. I love Glen and Don's music but i think its really hard to be fans of guys that have such a cold hearted cut throat mindset. Easily the most musical talent of almost any rock n roll band ever
Timothy Schmit = class act
yup! humble guy and beautiful
These are collectively the best set of acceptance speeches I've ever heard. Humble, well spoken gentlemen.
"You Honor us, therefore You Honor yourselves." How sweet. Glenn, you were one of the Greats. Thank YOU.
R.I.P. Glenn. Thanks for the music.
Now Timothy...that is a class act for thanking Randy!!!!!!!
Kudos to Schmidt and much respect!!!!!
Timothy is such a great man and I think he's what more musicians should be like. Same with Don Felder
Randy Meisner had been contemplating leaving the Eagles for years before he actually did it in 1978. Being in the band had cost him one marriage and was about to cost him another relationship. There was some tension when he left, but all was forgiven for this occasion. They would have invited him to be a part of the current History of the Eagles tour (as they did with Bernie Leadon) but, sadly, Randy's health would not permit it.
Yes, Thank you for also stating this.
It is indeed nice that they all got together and treated each other respectfully for this occasion. I think I read in Felder's book that Henley would only play with Leadon and Meisner at the venue if their guitars were not plugged in. Regardless, it's too bad John Fogerty could not have done the same when CCR was inducted.
@@mrsgstd heard this too, such a holes they were and for no damn reason. Sweetest guy there is, Randy
This video seems edited as I remember a few members like Felder saying more than just commenting on Walsh's outfit and thanking his wife. He also thanked Frey and Henley for writing much of the Eagles music like Walsh did.
I was 19 years old in 1971 when I heard "Take It Easy" for the first time. I've been an Eagles fan ever since. Their songwriting, musical ability, and vocals are second to none. They are the greatest American band of all time in my opinion and second place is not even close.
As for their individual failings, well, you can't have a group of musical geniuses without having some occasional head-butting. I, too, wish Felder was still with the band but life goes on. I'll still listen to them over and over and over, marveling at the pureness of all the songs I know so well.
I have to comment that I don't think the Eagles ever got enough recognition for how great their vocals were/are. Absolutely top-notch yet they don't seem to get the recognition that CSN and the Beach Boys (who's recognition is well deserved) do.
Their individual personalities & attitudes is the chemistry that made them great... let's embrace it... warts & all! 😘🌟💖
To Don Henley, Randy meisner, Bernie leadon, Don felder, Joe walsh, Timothy B. Schmitt...Thank you...Thank you...Thank you!!!!! Peace to all...God bless...
Well said Timothy. I love The Eagles; then and now. RIP Glenn Frey.
@Joe M Of course it was.... and I agree with him/her... Frey and Henley shared the biggest part of the money and kicked Randy and Felder out of the group...
@@sanjamatsuri If you agree and that is your reason, why would you be okay with him keeping Henley in there?

EAGLES thank you for all the beautiful music.
I love you TIMOTHY.💝
a defiant Frey here, sounds like he was fed up with the talk about the Eagles fighting with each other... he ruled that band with an iron hand
yeah but his speech was straight BS.
Randy gave Tim a shout-out, too. THAT was also pure class.
I don't care WHO didn't get along with WHO. These guys gave us 20 years or so of great music , they made a lot of money and had a lot of problems splitting it up but as far as I'm concerned they are right up there with the stones beatles floyd and Fleetwood Mac tyvm to each and every eagle for great music n great memories god bless u all n ty for posting .

I much preferred the band America I bought their music but the only really good song of the eagles that's to my taste was TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT SUNG BY RANDY MEISNER. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Don't forget Tom Petty.
I always like it when someone thanks their mother and father, like Randy did. When you think about it, they are really the most important people in the world to most people
My favorite Randy is present.
Take it to the limit.
The ecstasy of seeing all 7 of them together...
I worked for many years in Dallas with Dallas, Power, and light (T.U.Electric),,,and we would have to trim the tree's from the power lines to prevent outages and such (due to the great ice storm of 1981). Don Henley lives in Dallas, and when we had to remove some major overhang from his tree, he was a major prick. I love the Eagles. Always have, and always will, but he was a very difficult client to deal with. I lost a wee bit of respect when he pulled the, "Do you know who I am" card.
Shocker
Don Henley’s a Karen. Hahaha
@@markmiller489 I saw watt you did there.
Hey it may seem revolting but we all get amped up now and again. It shouldn't affect his Hall of Fame inductance. Sorry, couldn't resist, I have a capacity for humor.
I mean, he's kind of known for being a tool, but that's not what I care about, it's his gift and his talent for music that's really all that matters. Also, if it was 1981, he was probably loaded out of his mind from drinking and drugs still, and considering the Eagles just broke up a year earlier probably didn't help.
hmm. I wonder what Felder thought of Joe's statement. I understand Felder wrote a lot of the music and guitar parts. He wrote the music for Hotel California (the song). Seems a bit of a stretch to thank only those 2 and to thank your own band members... It was nice when Timmy did it for Randy but Joe's... meh. Makes me think of how Kiss is. 2 guys in the band from the start with others they hired later after several other members leave or get booted.
The gods henley & Frey want all the credit, even though Bernie, is responsible for them being in the group, before they were even known
Felder came up with his own guitar solos but, in spite of what you've read in YT comments, he wrote less than 5% of the "music."
Lynn Turman He wrote Hotel California (sans lyrics). If that was all he ever wrote, it'd be more than me and I dare say (most likely) you would have ever done in our lives. I'm sure he wrote more music early on and less of it later as the notion of royalties became huge in the minds of the frontmen (Henley and Frey). Plus, they were the main singers so... just how things go.
TruthSurge Not to take anything away from Felder cause he was/is a great guitarist. But coming up with a guitar solo, a guitar riff, or a melodic line is not the same as writing the music. The music is defined as the harmonic structure (a.k.a. the chord progression) underneath the melody. And the only song he did that on was Hotel California (which is why he gets a songwriting credit on it). And btw, he DIDN'T write everything in Hotel California except for the lyrics, as you claim. You know those notes Henley is singing to the lyrics? That's called the melody. Felder didn't write that. Nor did he write the music or melody to the chorus. Felder's contribution to HC was the chord progression on the verse, the guitar duet at the end he wrote with Walsh, and the reggae feel the song has. So like I said: he wrote less than 5% of the music in the Eagles.
Lynn Turman You're very condescending. I saw a vid on YT where Felder said he'd bring in music ideas on tapes and they'd cull through them and that was part of how they created the songs. I think it's called... collaboration? Not sure. But you have a good day.
Given how many great artists were in that supergroup, it is amazing that they stayed together for nine years.
If you're really being honest, you can count on one hand the number of bands from any era of music that never once recorded a bad song, and you know the words to all of their songs, no matter which decade it was recorded in. The Eagles are one of those very rare bands, and their music has more than stood the test of time!!
I'd like to thank the Eagles band members for becoming such a great band called the Eagles and bringing us their fabulous songs over the years. And I'd like to thank the people who gave them such inspiration to write them. And thanks to the people who may have written some of these songs for them.
And I'd like to thank myself & all the millions of fans like me, for loving such great songs, that made the Eagles what they are to us today..
But I'd like to say to case county music. Please stop giving me copyright issues for playing them on youtube. If we don't get to play them they will fade away. And if we can't play them, how can the Eagles know they are still loved so much by us all. Buying their albums doesn't always say their loved. Keep it real Eagles. You are still loved today.
Don Henley still kicking ass and taking name. Don you are awesome ❤️

Timothy and Randy are the most humble men. On the contrary Glen and Henley sound rude, arrogant and sarcastic. They lack honesty and respect to their fellow band members. They used them as a part of the equipment, not as equal artists.
very true
In a parallel universe imagine if all these members were able to make this incredible music together at the same time, and just imagine what new music would have could have been. Two incredible bass players with high soaring voices, and the two hit makers, the two incredible guitarists, and Bernie.
If Frey could squeeze himself any tighter when Tim is giving Meisner a well deserved extra acknowledgement, he'd suffocate. He needs to "get over it." He and Henley are burning holes in the ground at that moment... anything on your mind boys or better yet, a penny for your thoughts.
I forget which book I read it in... Felder's or Marc Elliot's but they state that Meisner and Leadon were at the ceremony because Felder insisted and that Henley eventually gave in under the condition "they can be onstage and play but they won't be pugged in..." or something to that effect. So according to that account, Meisner and Leadon's instruments were not even plugged in.
Yep. Tried to make out what Frey said after Tim's comment.
@@mrsgstd589 Bernie was definitely playing on "Taking it Easy". You can see and hear it in the final guitar part. Meisner was playing acoustic guitar so it's hard to tell, but his voice is part of the harmony.
Randy was such a sweet soul. RIP Outlaw Man
After seeing the history of the Eagles recently and Frey inducting Linda Ronstadt into the R&R hof. Isn't it strange they didn't mention her?
Yes!
My husband introduced me to their music and that was 37 years ago. I still love them til this day and always will.
Randy is the man.
B is a lovely musician who came from POCO, which was a great band in itself. He is truly humbled because he experienced when the band was already developed...
Randy Meisner!! take the devil and certain kind of fool!! world class songs! what can I say about everyone else? I love them all very much, Glenn frey, joe walsh, tim. schmit, don henley, bernie, that's how i want to remember THE EAGLES, who cares if everything failed, all what really matters is on CD's and DVD's and in my heart as well
I liked Glenn Frey in the Eagles and solo. Didn't know him of course but felt connected to him as the others. Just so sad that they had such animositys toward each other. There was a huge price to pay for all that fame and fortune. He was the focal point on all of that and it ended up eating him alive and he ended up dying. Such a sad ending. Maybe that song of theirs most of us our sad really does ring true. God bless them all and I hope he made peace with God. He had it all but I hope he didn't miss the greatest achievement; eternal life with the creator
Well said Glenn Frey RIP beautiful man God bless you, amen 🙏🌹♥️🇦🇺,my favorite Eagle

There are people and things that are so timeless that you think that time has a different set of rules than those used on people like you and me. For me one of those things is a band called the Eagles and it's founding member, Glenn Frey. I remember seeing them for the first time in Kansas City as they were just beginning to get noticed. Believe it or not the Eagles were opening for Jethro Tull. We bought tix for the JT concert not knowing who the opening band was. When they opened their set w/ 'Take It Easy' I kind of forgot about the JT band and sat listening to harmonies, guitar parts, and lyrics that were as close to musical perfection as you could ask for. Here are a few of my favorite Glenn Frey penned songs below. He will be sorely missed by this world but enjoying his new life in another.
Terry Smith you are very right about your words and I see you speak with the heart. How wonderful times you were LIVING through... congratulations👍👍.
For new generations like us is like sour taste to prove everytime that those were the golden years of music when talent were honored and not like nowadays... 😯😳. YES THE EAGLES ARE TIMELESS...!☆☆☆
God speed Glenn, your music will live on. My heart goes out to all your family and your family 'The Eagles'.
It's good to see the great Don Felder.
I didn't think Randy was included in the Hall of Fame Award Show; thankfully he was. They should've welcomed him back when he asked to come back in the '90s!
Congradulations guys, ❤️, have listened to you for years! Best band during my time!
Well, at least Bernie Leadon got accepted back in the band for their final (?) tour. Randy Mesiner had such an incredible voice and talent. He from recollection had stage fright. I hope he gets his life in order.
Joe should have said: "Thanks to the DONS and Glenn for writing all those songs."
I concur !
@@Theanswerisblowinginthewind Absolutely Ms. White. !

Rip Glenn, my heart is breaking...
+Escul1960 Mine too...really bad!
Glenn and Don may be the front guys, but anyone that's ever been in a band knows you're nothing without the support of the whole band and the families that have to endure the peaks and valley's that Glenn alluded to!
True but no band makes it to the top without great songs. And Glenn and Don wrote the songs (for the most part).
Lynn Turman If you knew your band as well as you think, you would see a lot of writing & co-writing credits that involve Leadon, Felder & Meisner. If you're a true Eagles fan, you would acknowldge that... BTW, Meisner had the best pipes in the band and there is no debating that.
Stephen Silva Absolutely 100% right.
Stephen Silva Uh...that's why I said "for the most part." I DO acknowledge the contribution of Meisner, Leadon, & Felder. All three were/are incredibly talented. And all three wrote/co-wrote some of the Eagles best songs. But their songwriting contribution only represents maybe 10-15% of the Eagles output respectively whereas Henley & Frey get songwriting credit on about 95% of all the songs. So its clear they were the two main forces when it came to writing all their wonderful songs. And as for Meisner being the best singer, I do debate it. Only because Don Henley is also in the band. Between the two of them, they're two of the greatest singers in rock history imo.
I agree!
One of the Greatest Bands of all time...RIP Glenn
Imagine if they were all in the band at the same time. What an all star lineup of talent. Each had great solo careers.

Although the band have been separated for fourteen years but able to reunite together prior to the late Glen Fry, one of the original members and founders. The band have won six Grammy awards , five No # 1 Singles, 17 ( Top) 40 Singles and 6 No # 1 Albums.
I have been a loyal and dedicated fan since the original band was formed in 1971.
During the opening of the ceremony for acceptance of being inducted into the Hall of Rock and Roll Fame, I have thought that Don Henley , one of the original members and founders was extremely humble with his acceptance speech. It is a boy's dream to become a successful songwriter and musician by just picking up a guitar and playing a set of drum but unforseen his future to be one of the most noticeable and sensational rock and country band ever performed on stage with so many hit singles and albums. Secondly, it was a nice introduction of Randy M by Tim Schmidt. It was a nice appearance of Vern to be acceptance of the award. It would have been nice to see Don Felder who happens to be an excellent guitar player and a creative writer.
I have thought that the late Glen Fry was humble for the acceptance speech and the style of his speech was be thankful and grateful that we are the main reasons for their success in all of these past years.
How big of a fan can you be? You don't even spell his name right. I fell asleep halfway through your "tribute " to a very mean individual.
@@Noosic wtf maybe he's trying to write English coming from another country..... what are you? An English teacher?
@@Noosic So what, it's a just dumb typo. Get off your high horse.
