    So the raptors sacrificed themselves just to save Owen. That's incredibly sweet, and sad. They never gave up in their pursuit to do what they thought he wanted them to do, even if they died in the process.

    • @Dinoslay
      @Dinoslay 6 лет назад +66

      Hoskins was a fool in assuming that Delta would respond to his attempt to bond with it. She only answered to Owen due to him having been in her life from the start as an upbringer, a father character, thus, a rightful alpha which no other human could ever be. As far as the raptors were concerned, every other human, save for Barry, was a potential threat or a food source.

      Dinoslay except Claire, with how much she was with him that day, she could easily be seen as Owen's mate, and the children as theirs.

    If the raptors are based on real pack animals this theory is 100% correct. No pack or herd animals will follow a new alpha if the previous one has not been defeated by the new challenger

    I have studied wolves and they do show this behavior from time to time and in this case the I-rex never fought with Owen so they didn't have any reason to join the I-rex there for they never did join the I-rex it's just like wolves they won't leave there alpha unless it is KILLED by the challenger in this case the I-rex

  • @razredge07

    It makes sense. I've had dogs my entire life, many of which were large and potentially dangerous, and am quite familiar with the notion that your "pack" picks up on how you really feel. They don't understand the politics of a situation - only that you do or do not like someone and will react with that in mind. With the "raptors" featured in Jurassic World, their predatory instinct is high and so their solution to a given problem can include hunting/killing. What may be considered a "dangerous" dog to a person is a pack member defending their pack when seen from the perspective of a dog.

    Point about Delta and Hoskins: she was always going to kill him because her trainer outright tells him that she sees him as food so I don’t think she was purely attacking him to protect Owen. She didn’t like him from the get-go.

    Incredible observation! I also thought it was strange that they never really actively tried to kill Owen or the other trainer, who's name I can never remember, and was a bit lost when they seemed to continue to show loyalty to him when it seemed like they went rogue.
    I want to watch it again now to really appreciate the amount of detail put into those scenes.
    What an amazing detail to spot!

      Duron0 - I noticed this right away when Owen says, "They have a new alpha!" That's not how it works. The Alpha would have to be challenged the pack doesn't just join up with a stranger. The movie did this just to cause suspense. But Blue and the girls never attacked Owen nor would they.

      To be fair, creators usually have a time limit and a limit for their content; it's actually easier to think up theories because canon/content already exists lol since those theories rely on canon.
      So it's not really that fans created a more fleshed out story. They start with a base story and just elaborate from there (not downputting fans but give creators some credit here lol it isn't easy) I really doubt producers can smush so much detailing into movies too lol

    Hmmmm..... Another thing is the scene where the nood kid accidentally falls while he tryed to catch up the piggy that went lose into the paddock and all the Raptors looks at him thinking that is food since it was feeding time, but Owen got in their way in order to protect the boy.
    From the point of view of the Raptors, it could be say that their leader (Owen) was claiming the food (The Boy) for himself and was not gonna share the food with the rest of the pack, this could explain why the raptors looked so piss off and agressive at Owen, and went he turned around and runed to the gate, the Raptors attacked since they didn't wanted that Owen taked the food for himself.
    This is just a theory, but for reason during the entire movie, Raptors only act agressive at Owen went he is with other humans that the Raptors don't reconize, but went he is alone, the Raptors sinces to act more calm, maybe because they don't feel comfy by the present of these unknown humans, a good example is went the Raptors "betray" Owen and he finds Delta (or.. Charlie?) in the high grass, instead of attacking Owen, the Raptor stares at Owen looking more calm and like waiting orders from its leader before she blow up by a rocket, this kind of behavior is also shown in animals like dogs.
    ... i think that i accidentlly maded a content for a video XD

  • @jpfan1989
    @jpfan1989 6 лет назад +8

    I'm really glad that you brought this theory to light it feels pretty sound. As an animal trainer myself it never made sense that the raptors would all of a sudden turn on Owen after meeting up with a "wild"/unfamiliar animal. I used to fly hawks and falcons, these Birds were imprinted on me (raised from birth ala Owen's raptors) and as such they only liked me, they would not work for any other falconers. Now when I would fly one of my birds whenever it encountered a wild/unfamiliar bird of prey (even one of the same species) they would push it out of the territory. I use Modern raptors as an example because; well birds are descendants of Dromeosaurs a group that includes velociraptors. One could argue that the velociraptors in Jurassic world behave more like dogs well dogs are the exact same way if you have a group of dogs that you raised from puppies they're not gonna turn against you to "pack up" with some unfamiliar dog they never met.
    Last note regarding imprints, If Jurassic dinosaurs work the same as modern birds and... maybe some reptiles, If Owen really was there for the raptors birth as he claims in the film then not only is he Alpha, he's MOMMY!

      Ultimately, the "alpha wolf" or "alpha male" is a misnomer. They're the head of a family unit, it's not really based on your ability to rule in a healthy family, something I've learned since I did that theory. The overall gistbworks, Owen always had their loyalty as their alpha/mommy/leader whatever, and doesn't show himself unfit until the sequel. Even then, Blue still defended him.

    The bigger question is... How the heck Indominus could even know how to communicate with raptors after being kept alone without any contact with raptors for her entire life. Having raptor's DNA doesn't make her known raptor's language since communication is a learnt behavior, especially in highly intelligent animals with complex social order. Indy shouldn't even be able to understand basic raptor's gesture or meaning of each type of calls, let alone understanding how pecking order work. Yet, the movie made it that she seemed to understand everything in the blink of an eye after facing the raptors for the first time.

    • @megaman455
      @megaman455 6 лет назад +1

      Raptors do not have language, that's anthropomorphizing them on the part of humans. Non human communication is limited and often instinctive. Looking st surviving dinosaurs, avains. They communicate largely through specific calls. They don't need to be taught them, a bird searching for a mate instinctively knows what sound to make. I think oyher animals are much the same, but i dont know for sure, but its as reasonable an assumption as any that non-avian dinosaurs were at least somewhat similar.

    I think they are protecting owen because they know he doesn't have sharp teeth or claws (or not being a raptor). Cause in jp3 the raptors didn't protect the leader from the threat. Sorry if this is obvious but just wanted to put this out there

  • @joshmarvel5031
    @joshmarvel5031 6 лет назад +4

    I wanted to add some points as well
    A lot of people often brings up the scene as follow when they try to disprove this theory
    At one point during the first few minutes of the movie
    There's a scene where a pig gets loose and that leads to a human getting into the raptor cage
    owen gets inside and stops the raptor,which works
    People who want to disprove this theory often says "why did the raptor try to attack owen after this scene?"
    The answer is.....they don't
    The raptor obeys owen's order to stop moving,and only moves when owen himself moves
    And they weren't biting at him
    Rather,at the humans behind owen
    When owen moves,the raptor might presume this as a sign that they are allowed to attack the humans,until they're stopped by the cage door
    So this means that owen is completely save during the scene
    And that the raptors weren't aiming at him,and rather,at the preys(humans) behind the cage

  • @xxAliceNightxx

    Another point is that earlier in the movie Vic talked about his wolf and they shared unshakable bond another pack based animal that was raised by a human since Infancy, and thinking about how Delta showed up and turned her back towards Owen something animals never do to food sources or prey items, it’s so clear now and maybe that’s was intentioned all along, to make their loss more tragic and may have a deeper representation than I thought when I took this movie at face value

    That is just excellent. I thought they never switched sides and was a bit confused as to why people think raptors would go rogue. They didn't. If they did, all hell would have officially broken lose on Owen, Claire, kids and the guy who opens the T-Rex paddock 9 at the end. Already they had to deal with this hybrid Indominus and adding insult to injury would be raptors going rogue. The only way this idea would've gained favor (the idea of raptors going rogue and changing alpha) would be due to Vic Hoskins himself when he is trying to talk to the other trainer about the terminating rogue raptors in their hypothetical conversation case just after they see Owen feeding raptors.

      @IndianaJones84476352 6 лет назад +6

      I like to think they were expecting to be let out so they could run around with Owen like they used to when they were young. Like when your dog chases you around when you play not trying to hurt you just chase you. If Owen had backed up out of the cage and stayed in the defensive stance I think they would have stayed put, but he turned around and ran so that could have signaled to the raptors that he wanted to play chase. They might not understand that Owen isn't as durable as them though, so if they try to play they could end up killing him accidentally now that they're full size, so that's probably why Owen doesn't play with them face to face like when they were little. Later on when Owen is in danger they put themselves in front of him to protect him, so they obviously wouldn't hurt him on purpose.

    • @megaman455
      @megaman455 6 лет назад +3

      Yeah, I think they were trying to follow Owen, not attack him. But to a small mammal a large reptilian predator running in your direction looks an awful lot like one running towards you.

  • @misslady3
    @misslady3 6 лет назад +2

    To add to this, I think that the raptors--particularly Blue--viewed Claire and the kids as Owen's "new" pack which confused them on where Owen's alliances were. You have to understand that Blue was sort-of like the "wife" in the group with Owen being the "husband" (if we're looking at it like a family unit). After the Raptors turn, Owen becomes Alpha for the human pack, which could have confused the raptors on whether or not he's abandoned his original pack. Blue may think she is no longer the Betta and that Owen has made Claire the new Betta. So now Blue and the other raptors are confused.
    You have to view it this way: Owen was the Alpha to the raptor pack. Raptor pack gets used by the bad guy as weapons. Raptor pack looks back at Owen to see what he says about killing the I-Rex (during the I-Rex/Raptor talk). Humans misinterpret what the raptors are thinking and begin shooting, including Owen. The raptors defend themselves and run away. Now they show up later and Owen has a new family/pack. The poor raptors probably thought HE had turned against them because he didn't want them anymore.
    That's why the pack chase the group during the final scene. When the pack surrounds Owen, Claire, and the kids, they show anger and hostility. But when Owen reaches out to Blue and takes off her camera, Blue must have realized at that time that Owen didn't abandon the pack--he just added more members to it. After that we see the I-Rex tell Blue to kill the group of humans and that's when Blue flips out and attacks the I-Rex. At that point, she had accepted the kids and Claire as part of the pack and chose to protect them. The other raptors, of course, followed suit.

    • @megaman455
      @megaman455 6 лет назад

      This is probably more correct. I was using outdated theories about pack dynamics. Its really more about social structure and fsmily/pair bonding.

    • @NightmaresGirl
      @NightmaresGirl 6 лет назад +16

      Perhaps they see the other trainer as more of a outsider of the pack who was "ok".
      Somewhat like a male, since he was, who left the pack as a way to find his own pack. Perhaps like a male lions younger brother WOULD BE ACCEPTED IN THE PRIDE, but would either have to leave to feed and mate, or be submissive to the pride leader, not grow a mane, and live as a female in the pack.
      That's the way I see it according to this theory, he is somewhat outside of the accepted pack, as a male and a human, and is seen as a threat during a time when Owen is in danger, as another male would be a threat if the pride leader was away or in danger.

    • @razredge07
      @razredge07 6 лет назад +16

      Barry may not have been fully accepted by the pack, but rather tolerated. In a situation like this, when the alpha isn't "looking" the others might pick on him to settle what rank (if any) he actually has in the group or try to oust him completely. When I was raising chickens, I noticed similar behavior when a new bird was added to the group. Any bird that couldn't hold its own was at the bottom of the pecking order and always at risk of being pushed out of the flock. For predatory animals in a high stress situation, they may see a weak member as a potential liability for the entire pack.

      They probably don't see him as family like Owen, but realize that Barry has a positive relationship with the pack, just like there are some animals that predators don't attack because they do something else for them. Like how a crocodile doesn't eat a Plover Bird because the Plover Bird is it's dentist.

    Maybe when indomimous Rex was talking to the raptors the raptors were trying to convince her to not harm the humans possibly why she didn't just kill them all right then and there cause she and the raptor would be able to offer killed them ALL right then and there.....still good theory though...

  • @neilcollins4210

    This is fun.. I have a few thoughts myself... Its been hard not to cringe at the scene where the indominus "talks" to the raptors ever since I heard it pointed that speech is always a taught trait and of course not a genetic one.. But this theory helps toward fixing that.. The indominus approaches the raptors non threatening we'll say because of their smell.. Then It just barks, no words, like a human saying aaaa.. the raptors are like, that's like our kinda bark and reply "hello".... followed with the rex saying "keeellloz".. Raptors are like "say that again"... you get the idea, that the raptors are confused by the rex's nonsense or attempts to mimic the raptors... Which leads to them all looking over at Owen for guidance.
    My other thought was how its at least implied that the raptors would have killed him in the beginning had he not rolled out of the cage... Then again you can see raptors like cats and that they just have to pounce on something if it moves fast enough.

    Another point in defense of this theory is that they did pause to let him remove the head harnesses. They were likely definitely confused- in their mind, he'd let these weird devices get attached to them (which they undoubtedly did not like, but didn't consider a high enough priority to remove immediately since they could still open their jaws). So there was some hostility there, they likely felt like a betrayal had been made, but since he hadn't actively tried to hurt them they were also cautious- they wanted to establish whether or not he WAS now at threat before putting themselves at risk by attacking him.
    Him dropping his weapon and removing the harness from Blue likely confirmed to them that he wasn't a threat, and at *bare minimum*, they still had a friendly/non-aggressive relationship. Not prey, not a threat, but when the much larger and much more aggressive Indominus shows up and makes it clear it's not about to back down- and worse, actually attacks Blue-, they decide *it* is now the threat and are far more willing to fight it.

    Its a fun theory, but it has a few issues. When the raptors have them cornered, they hiss and growl at them like they're ready to attack. And when Owen stares down blue, she growls and snaps at him, only giving a friendly tone after the headset has been removed, and they rekindle their connection. Lets not forget they tried to kill Clair, Zach, and Grey when they were on the road. Plus, Barry already established that the raptors look at what they want to eat with Hoskins, then they look at Owen. If that wasn't an important point to be remembered later, they wouldn't have brought it up..

    • @Cyanwasserstoff
      @Cyanwasserstoff 6 лет назад +1

      They hiss and growl towards Claire, Zach and Grey to let them back off from Owen. If you pay close attention, you will see that the raptors are trying to seperate the others from Owen. These raptors have no clue who of the humans are there pack leader´s enemies, so they are very aggressive against all humans that come close in range towards Owen.
      They tried to kill Claire, Zach and Grey, because they cannot distinguish between human enemies or human friends. They even seperate them from Owen. The thing with Hoskins had a later sense in the movie, when he got killed by Delta. Of course they would look at Owen like they always do, when they are waiting for orders. They have found the I-Rex and now what ? They do not know how to deal with this situation, because they have not clear orders to follow. So they are simply attacking all humans that shoot at them or come too close towards Owen.

  • @EG_Soul_Reaver
    @EG_Soul_Reaver 6 лет назад +1

    Let's not forget the scene before that when Barry tells Hoskins that "they look at what they want, usually what they want to eat". Them looking at Owen could be seen as them seeing he's an outsider (he isn't a raptor, he can't communicate with them the same way I-Rex can) so they turned on him. As to why they turned back to his side, remember early on how they acted when Barry or Owen were near them in the cages, they were calm, but as soon as Hoskins came around, they get aggressive until Barry calms them down.
    Going back to the prep scene before the assault on the I-Rex, Hoskins is responsible for putting the cameras on them, and Owen interacts with those cameras and Hoskin's troops, so they could of assumed he was with them, hence turning on Owen.
    When they corner Owen, Claire and the kids, Blue is essentially challenging Owen, however instead of showing an aggressive posture, he drops his weapon. We immediately see Blue show her teeth toward him and start to hiss when he puts his hand near her, before she realizes he's removing the camera, the tool that the bad guys put on them, so she could of potentially saw that he was part of the pack, whereas I-Rex wanted to use them as a tool.
    That would make sense as to why after I-Rex shows up, she looks at Owen, and kind of nods affirmatively to show that she's with him. Being that she's second in line, the other raptors follow suit, changing their aggression towards the threat facing their alpha.
    Sound theory and I do believe they stayed loyal to Owen as a whole, but I do think they did harbor resentment towards Owen for allowing Hoskins to use them for his needs (in their mind, they wouldn't known Owen was against it as he did lead them into battle).

    I hate being that guy, I really do, but here I go.
    Their names show you their ranking/order. Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo.
    Echo, when we first meet the raptors, is the obvious Omega. She isn't repremanded when her sisters are being defiant, she constantly looks to Blue or Owen for order and she instantly stops attacking when she sees Owen. We don't even see her when the park worker falls in the pen because she's afraid to make Owen angry. She's the baby, she doesn't know what she should do. She's also the first to die by rocket launcher after they find the Indominous.
    Delta, she's got middle child syndrome. She hates being ordered around, shows resentment toward Owen, Hoskins, even the park worker who falls in the pen (she stays behind after they get out just to intimidate him). But even though she can't stand those over/older than her, she does in some way care for her sisters and Owen.
    Charlie, the second born, constantly hunts for approval. She sees that Owen, their father/Alpha, shows Blue stronger affection (giving her a dead rat rather than some chunk of meat) and decides to behave the same way to get the same or any kind of affection.
    And, unless you're unable to listen, there's Blue, the Beta, as openly expressed by Owen. She keeps her sisters in line (screeching orders, snapping at but not on them, and standing taller), shows her dominance and keeps her loyalty to Owen.
    Blue, Charlie, Delta, and baby Echo.

    I just want to add a little spice to dazaricks theory...there is the slight chance that the raptors got confused,scared and disoriented when Hoskins told the men to fire and due to this the raptors looked to the i-rex for hope and guidance as the same for Owen.also the raptors could've trying to avoid Owen because they knew Owen Is their original and true pack leader,but the i-rex would've killed them if they didn't kill owen.But at the end Owen embraces blue/omega of the raptor pack and gives the remaining raptor pack guidance and obviously throws the i-rex of the throne as alpha because the raptors might've realized,"Well hey the new alpha/i-rex allowed Charlie to be killed unlike our old alpha/Owen who never allowed us to get hurt before" This excludes my theory of the raptor pack side swap.

  • @GanonGhidorah
    @GanonGhidorah 6 лет назад +2

    There are a few holes in this theory...
    For the one thing, while it's clear that Charlie didn't attack Owen out of mixed feelings for him, it's clear that Blue and at least Delta - if not Echo as well - have a somewhat hostile vibe towards him. Charlie - being the youngest - probably doesn't hold as much against Owen as the others do.
    Specifically when Owen get's Blue's attention by whistling and sounding his engine, Blue looks quite furious.
    Also - this theory depends on the Raptors specifically attacking the humans that either quarreled with Owen (Hoskins) or had shot at them and the Indominus (the soldiers.) If that was the case...then why would they attack the Medical Van that had Claire and the kids inside of it? If anything, they arrived WITH Owen and the Raptors could clearly see they were on Owen's side...
    And yet, not only do they attack the Van, after Delta kills Hoskins, she rather aggressively jumps through a glass wall in order to get cut Owen, Claire and the Kids off from escaping. If Delta was just following Owen, ready to receive orders, why would she respond so aggressively? Especially considering it would be a simple matter to just calmly stroll out of the lab to follow them.
    Then of course, the rather hostile actions that the group displays when they surround Owen, Claire and the kids. They are closing in for attack, and yet Blue only stops when Owen throws down his gun - representing that he's not a threat. Then during the moment of calm, Blue gives Owen the opportunity to remove the camera strapped to her head. Ultimately speaking, while Hoskins is the one who put them on, Owen did have the moment where he confronted Blue and adjusted her camera before the hunt began. Effectively, this was considered a Betrayal of the Raptor's trust in their eyes; that he'd decide to leash them like that.
    But by taking the leash off, it metaphorically rebuilt their trust in him, by establishing that he did respect them...
    Truth be told, I have my suspicions as to whether or not they actually saw Owen as their "alpha" at all. Especially considering that his precedent for believing such is that they imprinted on him at birth; but parental-bonding in predators only lasts until the animal is old enough to fend for itself; so that clearly wouldn't work. My guess is that they would ultimately have mixed feelings about attacking him considering he seems to be a common feature of their lifestyle; but that scene earlier in the Raptor enclosure where Owen rescues the pig-wrangler, proves that they don't see him as their Alpha at all...
    His hand movements to "hold them at bay," as it were, were completely futile. They weren't holding back out of "respect" for him; they were holding back, waiting for all four of them to get into position and for him to put his guard down. You can tell this is happening by the fact that they were at large, trying to surround him; and the moment he turns his back, they immediately spring on him.
    My guess is, they were probably frustrated with having no "real" Alpha from among their own kind. And yet, they had a 'taste' of what that would be like when encountering the Indominus. And yet, because Indominus is a mass-murdering psychopath, whereas Owen has shown them caring, affection and respect for literally all their lives, it gave them a sense that maybe having a "real" alpha wasn't what it was cracked up to be.
    As for why Delta honed in on Hoskins instead of the rest of them; consider the fact that it's Delta who is doing it. Earlier in the movie, Hoskins tried to touch her, and she clearly showed her displeasure and dislike of the man. Him touching her was probably such a great offense to her that when she saw him she was overcome with the desire to kill him.

    Small build on to this theory think of the differences between Indy and the raptors growing up. Indy and her sibling was experimented on and tortured by the humans in a lab. Where as the raptors were raised by owen who was caring and fed them and the type of experiments were behavioral so it was treated as more of a game or training by their alpha, Owen, as seen in the Jurassic World lost kingdom, video recordings viewed by Macie. Indy and the raptors have different enemy's, Indy's enemy is humanity where as the raptors were Owens enemy's.

    I rather think of this relationship they have, Owen and the raptors, more like "daddy"(or mama) and raptorlings... I mean, there are no "rules" to be obeyed in nature, they'd just do because they would trust Owen, because Owen have risen them since when they were eggs. Owen also proved to be smart enough to avoid their attacks so, "dad" is not a food source himself... But he brings delicious meat. So... That's how I see it. Owen make that trick to pretend the meat is running, so, also, its "good" when dad is 'near' because its also "playtime". Make them feel good when you are nearby, they'll see you as something nice, as a nice "phenomena" . When Owen is close, there is food, there is game, there is cuddlying sometimes. Owen= good , so , "we"(the raptors) like him. Indominus = huge scary monster that communicates we've never seen before... Sooo.... By this logic I intended, even if they are animals, it would pretty understandable if they would side with Owen. (not all the humanity, but specifically Owen)

    After watching JWII it’s probably that Charlie after killing Hoskings and seeing Owen run, she considered this as an act of weakness and tried to overtake Owen as the alpha, hence the persecution. This wouldn’t be farfetched as I believe it’s canon that Echo’s scar was made during a fight with Blue to overtake her position, besides, we know all other three raptors were prone to attack when they saw weakness, they lacked Blue’s empathy.

    Good theory! The movie would have been so much better if they hadn't left all of that to guessing. The whole side-switch back and forth made it unnecessarily complicated and made the I-Rex look to intelligent.
    Just a few more hints here and there would have been enough - for example, Owen could have been the only one to interpret the behavior correctly but the others wouldn't have listened and they could still have had the Raptor fight. And in the end Owen would have been right, which would make the trust he shows in Blue much more believeable.
    In the very first Jurassic Park movie, they took the time to explain things, to have actual meaningful dialogs. Now they are rushing it along for the sake of more action.

    What about the scene where the velicraptors "attacked" and chased the vehicle with Bryce's character (forgive me at the moment her name escapes me) and her nephews in it? Is that just another circumstance from the miscommunication due to Own not having been there precisely at that time?
    I mean one of them had pulled that one gentleman out from the truck, and then tries getting into, on what seems an aggressive manner. Especially considering before that had been the period of the I-rex confrontation and then the slaughtering of the men that had started shooting.
    I would love for this theory to be true, it warms my heart at the possibility of the loyalty and love they have for their alpha. Considering I had never considered this before because I was too enticed by the simple fact of another amazingly well done dinosaur movie. I love dinosaurs.

    I love this theory, but I have to think that this isn't what was intended by the film makers. As it was shown in their first scene, they attempted to attack Owen when he protected the worker. I think that Blue was always competing with Owen for the position of Alpha, and it was at the end of the film where Owen removes Blues harness that he essentially concedes Alpha status to her, becoming the Beta of the pack. Then the Indominus shows up and orders them to kill Owen, but Blue JUST became the Alpha after all this time and likely isn't wanting to give that position up without a fight, and when Blue is taken down, Owen being the Beta can order Delta and Echo to attack.

    Hey, Alteori. I had a thought watching a dumb parody video of Jurassic World. The scene where Claire, Owen, and Hoskins are talking after the raptor "betrayal", right before Delta jumps in to kill Hoskins. I was wondering....what would have happened if they just kept talking? If they didn't react to Delta at all? Honestly. I think Delta would have been really puzzled. I mean, a predator doesn't snarl/roar/growl if it's hunting. It only does so when it is attempting a threat or communication. Delta was obviously aiming for Hoskins, and roared a threat before attacking. If they just went, "Delta, hush!", I wonder if it would establish humans in general as the Alphas, not just Owen. I think that would've been interesting.
    So they're talking, right?
    Delta jumps in. Hoskins yells that beautifully inflected SHIT, and backs away. Instead of running, though, Owen catches on to Delta's obvious defensive behavior, and gives her a command.
    "Delta, stand down!"
    Delta, confused but compliant, steps away from Hoskins, who hastily joins the group on the other side of the room. The three surviving raptors (fuck that ridiculous rocket scene. Raptors deserved better. We deserved better.) come in, and are similarly confounded. Owen puffs out his chest and gives them some stern commands to re-assert total dominance. Maybe Echo tries to challenge him or something, but Blue snaps at her, putting her in her place. However, with the surviving SWAT team members trying to hunt down the raptors and the Indominus running about with civilians nearby, the group has to get a move on. So now we have Claire, Owen, Hoskins, the kids, and the WHOLE raptor squad. The fight happens, yeah raptors die as usual, Blue survives of course. Claire goes and gets the T-Rex, high heels on, and the hee-haw spino skeleton break scene too, and then the fight between the titanic creatures goes as usual. Rexy stalks away, tired and pissed that her hard-fought kill was stolen by the Mosasaur, and Blue approaches Owen. Hoskins, being a fucking moron, pulls a gun on Owen and claims that if he kills Owen, he'll be the new Alpha. Blue gets defensive, but Owen tells him to stand down.
    Hoskins: "Oh, what kind of weak leader are you? Animals aren't noble, Grady. Animals do their jobs. What kind of Alpha denies his Beta the glory of-"
    SNARL SNAP SCREAM CRUNCH
    Rexy came back for a snack, picking off the lone human who wasn't paying attention. That way, we actually get a Rexy kill in the movie, too

I did realize their hesitation in what seemed like they might attack Owen and how Blue did attack the other trainer (what ever his name was/is) but, hesitate to kill him. I wish we could have seen Blue's true reaction once she realized who she was attacking weither she would have stop or continue the attack. As they did seem intimidating towards Owen they never truly attacked him either, they hesitated. They may have changed sides but, they still wouldn't hurt Owen it seemed. This was my theory and of course after the Indey attacked Blue which was they're Beta they lost all loyalty to Indey (if they had any). So, as you stated the raptors did not take kindly to Indey attacking Blue and Owen asking them to help take on Indey, they had insective to attack.
    I love how you described that moment, lol 😂 (6:34).

    Love this theory sooo much (I know it probably isnt the intended meaning but) it adds so much more depth to the final act and also could it be possible that when the 3 raptors showed up Owen had somewhat figure it all out and used the taking-off-of-the-camera as a symbol of approval for their work / positive stimulation?

    actually I noticed this on first viewing. I noticed one of the raptor looking to Owen for direction only to be blown up by a soldier. at that time killing the soldiers is pretty much self-defense for the raptors anyway. I think they were willing to accept the Indominus Rex as part of their pack until the moment I-Rex started demanding they'd kill others withing their pack. I thought Owen got demoted to beta until I-Rex show itself to be a bad leader and got ostracized from the pack reverting leadership back to Owen. The raptors never stopped being loyal to him even with I-Rex in the picture. tough throughout the movie you are never 100% sure about that.
    I have another theory, Rexy likes humans and wouldn't purposely kill a human. she only ever accidentally killed one guy, great white sharks don't ever attack humans either, if you've seen them hunt you'd know this, they bite out of curiosity. you have a bad time if a shark does that to you and well Rexy only has a big mouth to explore the world with when she chomps down on you to see what you are you're dead whether she'd ment to or not. she does come to the rescue suspiciously often. she just ignored Dr. grand and Lex to continue to assault the car, am I really supposed to believe she didn't hear or smell them? especially when the T-rex parents in the next movie track the group by smell alone. also the JP franchise is wrong T-Rex has phenomenal eye sight that doesn't need to be that much of a plot hole if the T-Rexes aren't actually out to kill you (or ignore you when you are sleeping flat on the ground).

    I never believed that they joined the Indominus Rex, I think Indy told them something that made them doubt their trust and loyalty towards Owen. When Owen removed the camera headset off of blue, that is when they realized that their trust in Owen was never misplaced.

    The fourth raptor either Charlie or Echo death is never showed on screen, either Charlie or Echo is just thrown by the Indominous, so Charlie or Echo could still possibly be alive.

    But why when the trainer falls into the pen at the start trying to get the pig, when Owen's friend (I can't remember his name but he's black and wears a pink shirt) pulls the guy to safety and Owen tells him to close the gate, Owen runs at the last second to safety and the raptors chase after him but are blocked by the gate and start biting and growling? Please somebody answer

      GhostsRuS912 instinct. Even though they were trained by Owen, they are still wild animals. Its the same as a Lion or Tiger. You may raise it and train it, but it won't be completely loyal. However, the raptors were very intelligent, so they were more loyal.

      Could Owen's retreat be seen by the raptors as a sign of weekness or opportunity to pull rank in the pack or another game or maybe the raptors were frustrated by Owen standing between them and the fallen keeper as potential pray as in if its in the enclosure then its the raptors to hunt and Owen never gave the order to chase the keeper as he wasn't there so the blue is next in charge?

      pretty much agree with what the others said but if you want a different input sometimes wild animals like wolfs or even the raptors from jp2 have a breif scrap to test each other so perhaps blue wanted to test owen (these battles are non fatal and are more like wrestling than anything else)

    This makes so much sense, the raptors never showed aggression towards Owen except for the time when he got in the pen with them to save the feeder's life. The only reason they were probaly aggressive then was because of confusion and excitement. If they were unloyal to Owen then they would have attacked him the first opportunity they got after being shot at.

  • @B17loves13
    @B17loves13 6 лет назад +1

    This is an amazing theory. But there is one flaw. When the new guy falls in the pen, the raptors slowly walk towards Owen. And when Owen flips back under the door they lunge at Owen as if to attack him.

      Someone said in the previous/above comment, they behave aggressively toward Owen because: (1) they think that Owen/the alpha is trying to keep the food all to himself, or (2) they piss off when they can eat their food that should belong to them

    Only 2 of the Raptors are dead. Blue and Delta survived. At the end you see blue running off and hear a raptor call which makes her change direction and run into the trees. Plus in the Fallen Kingdom trailer Blue calls for another Raptor.

      DracFAILS@Life ok umm echo exploded in fire not delta so echo's dead. Also, when the indominus goes to bite and throw delta, you see deltas body go limp the second the indominus bites down so she died.

    I agree on this possibility does anyone notice when the raptors attack the humans they don't go after owen at all blue only chased him because she considered that a challenge when he revved the engine of atv and whistled and drove away to get her to follow. and blue saw barry go into the log don't think she knew that it was barry initially when he says her name she stops to look in the hole to see who .it was when delta finds Hoskins she completely ignores owen ,Claire,and the boys she chases Them. but she and echo are only really hissing the three but look unsure about owen and was following blue's lead dictate what they do

    I always figured the raptors all turning to focus on owen was a refernce to when Barry said "they look at what they want to. Usually what they want to eat." But the looking for instruction idea makes sense too.

    This theory is amazing as well as mi cab and how the raptors have been portraid in the jp series it makes total sense the raptors never changed sides but Owen as human failed to understand the raptor's language and thus think they changed sides but they did not

    I’ve already made a comment but I have a question, if they were all by his side why did they his and growl at Owen when they circled him and why did they circle him in a hunting way? I’m not saying I believe they left him but this part wouldn’t make sense if it was intact true

      It's very hard to interpret their behaviour, because we instinctively fear large, dangerous predators and often have an instinct fear of reptiles. These are both. Every behaviour is going to look threatening because to us they are threatening. I've lived my whole life around dogs and I still can't tell the difference between one trying to get off his leash to lick your face off and one trying to rip your face off. It's just a large predator trying to get at you. We didn't survive by responding to that with tickles.
