    The USB dongle is a real nice option for use on a PC with conferences. I currently have the Aftershokz OpenComm headphones with the boom mic as well and it is really great at cancelling background noise but the lack of a dedicated mute button like these have is a huge miss. Mine also needs repair as the microphone connection has become loose with the swiveling boom mic, so something to keep in mind with the similar design here.

      Whenever they add a USB dongle, I want to know: Is this a proprietary, low-latency RF link, or just a Bluetooth dongle (giving me something my laptop already has, BT, including the latency you always get with BT.)
      Any idea what this one is?

    Great review. Is the docking station necessary? Can i charge it with a conventional 25 watts charger without the docking station?

    I've been using the Sony linkbuds for open earphones. These look really interesting. The mic on the linkbjds it amazing compared to others, but not perfect. I'll be keeping an eye on these!

      @@michaelcorcoran8768 they're incredible. I use them for phone calls on the go. Great for being compact and to carry around. They are however absolutely dreadful for music, or in loud environments. I wouldn't use them on a train for example. But I do use them in the car. I get to use my mp3 player on Bluetooth and those to pickup any incoming calls. The hole means it never interferes with my hearing.

    Is there any latency when using it on pc? I would like something like this for gaming and my aftershokz have too much latency for gaming. Thank you!

      I'm also interested to know what the USB dongle latency is. If it's 2.4 GHz connection, could be great!

    Thanks for the review Shane. While I like the noise cancelling on the mic..
    how’s the noise cancellation on the audio output..
    working at home with kids around, it does help to not get distracted by shouting or TV that’s happening in the background.

      @@DerekKerton The most meta song ever is Hook tho, haha. Funny thing was as a kiddo, I used to think the lyics were "the hart brings you back" it was not util buying track and reviewing the lyrics that I totally had this all wrong haha. Learning the truth only made the song that much cooler to me tho haha. This song was 90's I am sure but 80's had a couple bangers

      I didn't add a noise gate in post, but there is one in OBS where I film. That being said, noise gates don't work when you're talking which is why if you listen very closely when I talk you can actually hear it a little bit.

    My question is does that multi-device connection allow simultaneously listening to two sources? Are you able to use the USB dongle and still hear audio from the connected Bluetooth device with independent volume controls on those individual devices?

  • @DerekKerton
    @DerekKerton Год назад

    A small minority of headsets emphasize noise isolation on the mics. This is what I seek. But there is a level of mic noise cancellation that is capable of eliminating things like leaf blowers, grinders, and the Oleap has sought to take it to that level. And it works - the problem being that the mic audio is so heavily processed that it sounds like it's been heavily processed - a bit robotic. That's how you sounded on this demo.
    What I'd like to know is if that can be tweaked up or down in software for the device, reaching some happy medium where the voice isolated, much ambient noise is eliminated, but the I don't sound robotic on my zoom calls. Does Oleap have this kind of adjustability?
    (thanks for the review)

    Nice job!
    Do you need the USB dongle to connect to a Mac mini or MacBook Pro? The package with the dongle is ~$99 vs ~$79. Is it worth the extra $20?
    These aren’t ANCs but are supposed to suppress 50dB sound for call recipients, but is there any background noise reduction for the wearer?
    Thanks!

    • @didiksulisbdg
      @didiksulisbdg 2 месяца назад

      No for the wearer. It is intended as an open ear headphones, so we can still hear the sound from our environment.
