Whenever Mother Gothel shows Rapunzel any affection, she's actually showing it to her hair. Like kissing the top of her head.
In contrast, when Eugene does the same, he pushes her hair away from her face.

I love how they did Rapunzel saving Eugene, because that’s actually credit to the original rapunzel story! In the OG story, the prince fell into the briars at the base of the tower and was blinded. Rapunzel cried and held him, and her tears falling on his face healed his eyes.
Absolutely love this movie and possibly my favorite Disney movie of all time!💙

Tangled: Before Ever After is the sequel, which segways into the series: Rapunzels Tangled Adventure. It's a different animation style, not in a bad way though. It still is a lot of fun to watch and it's really good.
Fun Fact: Mother Gothel was voiced by Donna Murphy who was the Witch in one of the most recent revivals of Into the Woods.
One of my favorite movies! 💖 I absolutely love Flynn, the sense of humor they used for his whole character was perfect! His relationship with Max is hilarious, and yes Max is the best dog-horse ever lol. The music was beautiful, the animation stunning. And the song at the lanterns is one of my favorite couples songs ever 💘 I still get choked up seeing Rapunzel's parents before the lantern release. Gets me every time! 😭

my 6 year old nephew and i recently watched tangled. when rapunzel healed eugene after being stabbed, i was suprised to see him with tears rolling down his face, just silently crying🥺 i feel like i don’t normally see young kids crying at sad parts in movies, so i just thought it was the cutest thing ever. when i was 6 i don’t know if i would have even understood what was happening 😂 we also watched soul and he said “is this movie gonna make me cry too?” 🥺

What's creepy is this is a movie about a girl kept inside to keep her from going to a kingdom called Corona. They don't say it in the movie but that is the name of the kingdom.

The first time I saw this movie, legit, I thought that Bernadette Peters was doing the singing voice for Mother Gothel... Goes to show how talented the actual singer is.

I didn’t like it at first but it’s symbolism because how mother gothel always played with her hair and used her for her hair while Flynn kept moving it out of the way to show her that she is not just her hair. That’s also why he cut it so short.

Yes! Gothel is basically the witch from Into the Woods. Same exact characters. Surprised Bernadette would had been a great choice for Gothel too. "Mother knows best" is better than "stay with me" though.

😆this is my mum haha, I swear every time something is "lost" and she says she doesn't know where it is she 5 minutes later goes somewhere and comes back with said "lost" object and tells you where it was. I'm always like, "but- how- you said you didn't know where it was, you liar!" haha

It only hurts when you pull the hair close to the scalp and you can see when she is climbing or swinging on her hair she is doing it further away from her head, so it wouldn't hurt at all unless it is closer to her head.

Mulan came out years before this, not after. It was one of the films made in Orlando and was one of Chris saunders big promotions leading to him doing stitch. Unfortunately we then lost them when Pixar pushed him out. So DreamWorks got them and the how to train your dragon franchise
