  • We were camped out on the ice and woke up in the morning and there was a 4 wheeler that had gone through the ice right by us. Clint Thomas from Hell Creek Marina on Fort Peck Reservior in Montana got his gear and pulled the 4 Wheeler out. Clint has pulled out hundreds of 4 wheelers and side by sides and pick up trucks out of the ice. He says when they go all the way through he uses an underwater camera to find them and hook onto them under the ice. Luckily this 4 wheeler didn't go all the way to the bottom.

      I just went through in an Argo. Back end held up on ice and didn’t allow the machine to balance out.

      @@NatvBearHntr Well i have one and yes i can do it you must have bald tires also you need to learn how to do it. like anything there is a way and a technique if you don't believe it just google it there are many videos showing this!! Also a good set of Tracks make a huge difference as well 🙂

      @@thegrantdanielsband guess I could have explained it a little better. It was new when it happened. Had it less than 24 hours, maybe less than 12 hours? I was pulling my ice shack and between the bar connected to the shack and the weight of the shack it held the back end up. I think had I been towing with a rope instead of a bar I would have been ok. My Argo also had tracks on it.

      @@NatvBearHntrYa that makes sense now for sure a rope would of helped but by them selves no problem 🙂

    Interesting method, I haven't ever seen it used before. I bet the owner was very relieved to get his atv back safely.
    Looks like he may have gotten lucky.
    I'm guessing no water in the engine?

      The engine did take on water. When they got it back up on land they had to drain the oil and replace it but they got it going again.

    what are the orange hole liners? are they homemade do they help with not freeze the holes . I use my jaw jackers all the time.

    • @jawjackerfishing
      @jawjackerfishing  Год назад

      They just make it easier to keep the ice cleaned out of your holes and make it to where your hole doesn't close in on you as you dip it out every time.

    What is the Red bucket contraption in the ice hole at the end of the video?

    • @jawjackerfishing
      @jawjackerfishing  3 месяца назад +1

      It makes it easier to keep the ice out of your hole and the edges of the hole don't close in on you as the day goes by cleaning out your hole.

    what's the deal with the hole liner?

      @jawjackerfishing  Год назад +1

      They just make it easier to keep the ice cleaned out of your holes and make it to where your hole doesn't close in around the edges as you dip it out every time.

    Good recovery, but some bad safety practices. The guy on 05:15 shouldn't be so close to those hooks. You need to use dampers. Just imagine if anything breaks... 😖
