I wish that I was a multi-billionaire - I'd give millions to the locals to buy cement, breeze blocks and steel, and build up their infrastructure: houses and roads. They would take pride in building it up themselves under the guidance of their own structural engineers, their own plumbers and electricians.
The people just seem so nice and friendly. I'm glad that you make these videos, although it is very sad to watch.

Thank you for sharing these videos with us - your RUclips audience. I wonder if it would be possible to see inside some of these dwellings? In one of these fascinating videos I noticed a woman with dustpan and broom doing what she could to keep her small area neat and tidy. Seeing that, and the many, many smiling faces of children everywhere you went somehow gladdened my heart. Amid the filth and squalor the humanity of these people shone through brightly. I wish I could do something to help, but I am just an old man in a small room somewhere, watching, and sometimes weeping...

Speechless, you capture these poverty ridden lives so very beautifully Larry. Always heart-warming to witness the happy, friendly and welcoming squatters living amidst such dirt, filth and squalor in the Philippines slums. It was my inspiration to create Drew's Travels, documenting the lives of these less fortunate yet heart-warming communities, thriving in this diverse and beautiful country that is the Philippines.

I went to the Philippines to see my husband who was in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier. We stayed in military housing (Subic Bay).It was a culture shock when I got off the plane at the Manilla airport. Los Angeles to Hawaii to Quam to Manilla 16 hours fly time omg. Over populated, horrific poverty, street children everywhere grabbing
my clothes, back pack etc. begging for food/drink. There were 8-10 people/kids living in one room huts. No sanitation,
no water, etc. A lot of what I saw cant be put on RUclips. To sum up my trip: Never again. I wept like a baby when the plane landed at LAX. Grateful to be back in the states, back home.

The harsh reality of poverty in the Philippines. I had to force myself to watch this video, watching it turns my stomach inside out, people living in the most deplorable conditions like this. especially the young kids, and the elderly walking in vector ( rodents, cock roaches, flies, mosquitoes) disease-carrying infested environment. What is the government doing to help these poor people? Hoping the new president Marcos, the administration can help them. This is a big problem in the country, sewage, garbage trash, all over the place. This is their way of survival recycling trash, and garbage, what a way to live. There are times that we take things for granted, watching this video and seeing people in poverty struggle like these people is an opener for people including myself.🙏

People are chill despite being in the slum, also bringing 4K camera in a slum in other part of the world will be risky not to mention being harassed. So my conclusion is the philippines must be relatively safe.

I'm living comfortably in Boston at 42y.
But I grew up in a place like this back in my country in the 80's.
My birth certificate to this day has my parent's address as 'shed with no number.'
I remember playing just like those kids were playing, without a care in the world.
I was 5-6 years old. it looks horrible but it was normal to us because we knew nothing outside the slum.
My father worked hard and got us out of there; at 7 years old I was at a normal school in a normal neighborhood and was living inside a normal house.
Very emotional watching this video; I see myself and my sisters in those kids.
I can feel again the rust from the metal on my hands from playing around with metal bars.
I can feel again the dirty water and dirt on my feet.
I can smell again the dog smell, trash not picked for months or years, human waste smell.
