SE Silver Sky is truly more vintage strat with Mayer’s preferred rounder radius and brighter hissy single coils NF3 flatter fretboard. Paul calls nf3 a “hum-bucking” single coil. A modern approach to strat. Curious how SE nF3 compares to G&L tribute legacy equipped with MFD pickups 🤔
I agree, those pickups don't even remotely sound like single coils to my ears. I would go so far as to call them muddy, in light of the marketing hype.
I didn't have high hopes for this version to live up to its original's legacy, but this thing packs a punch. Those mini humbuckers run HOT. It plays the heavy stuff just fine but with a few knob turns, this thing turns into a jazz or country star. I'm not a huge PRS guy but I have no regrets getting this. What an outstanding guitar
Maybe you need to check your speakers or your ears… because none of the video sounds harsh nor overly trebly… in fact the SE NF3 sounds a bit darker than the SE SilverSky.
I tried one today and it sounds maybe between a single and P90 sound. Love it so much ! And a low price guitar with a 42.8 mm nut width is so rare !!!!! Go and try it …it sounds warm , smooth 🫠

Those pick ups sound dark
They are, they sound similar to P90's with an edge. Very usable tones.
They seem like they'd be really bad in an actual live band mix. Was interested at first bit every demo sounds like this..

Wow harsh, way overly trebly pickups in all the videos I’ve seen on this guitar. Love the guitar but the pickups are a letdown.

@@Spidouz You mean bright not dark oh you don’t know the difference I see. Either way still crappy get your hearing checked clown.
Boss GE10 fixes every guitar

Sounds like a guitar but nothing special imo.
Join the cult of the blessed Tonewood and the immaculate PRS and tell anyone who dares defies your beliefs that Warmoth is crap.
Buy good parts and build your own guitar. Warmoth etc have everything you need.
