This one has it all! Heavy downpour…the Mr. Softee song. It’s a slice of NYC life as seen from the J train. Excellent job!
And some guy blowing his after-market car horn... classic
Thank you so much for this; you make a valid point, it did have a lot of different elements for sure. We are just glad the rain came out ok, despite the slight mic adjustment.
@@wtaenychow did you do this? Are you a train operator or did the operator let you put some sort of camera on the coupler. Either way… i love this video. Very interesting!
Nothing like hearing NYC trains along the tracks. These videos makes me relax. Which is why I love transit. Greetings from SLC, Native New Yorker, Bus Operator.
Thank you so much for your service to NYC while you were a B/O. We are honored that you are able to experience home again while also being able to find comfort with the train sounds. We hope we can continue to earn your support and again, thank you for all you have done for the city in the past. 🫡
Every time I watch these videos I cannot wait for my vacation in July boy do I miss the New York City subway
Nice! I still remember when it was elevated out to 168th st and the old rickety platforms!
Thank you for sharing that memory; we are sure lots of folks didn’t know about that.
@@wtaenyc Yes I remember the last years as child.
Your videos make me miss trains with front windows so much...I'm grateful for my memories of discovering and appreciating the infrastructure that makes everything work as I grew up. It's so easy to take these things for granted, which is what allows the powers that be to cut corners when it comes to maintaining and improving the system. If you do a bad job maintaining streets and highways, drivers notice and complain. If you do a bad job maintaining a rail system, passengers decide the train crew just felt like being late today or whatever, instead of demanding the system be treated with respect so it can continue to work and even improve over time.
We appreciate you for taking the time to share your valid opinions and thoughts about the situation and how things can be improved. We will continue to send positive blessings to all those folks who can make the necessary change, so as to make this system become the most spectacular one in the world. It’s a pleasure to bring you back to the days when looking out the front window was a blessing to, like you stated, enjoy the views of the fantastic infrastructure that keeps NYC, “the city that never sleeps.” This is why we stand by saying that “New York City is Underground,” which ties into how everything works.
i left nyc in 97. i remember (i think) standing in the front car watching on the E train at least. probably the m or the z too?
you should now do the w and z trains

And thank you for your kind words. We’re happy that you appreciated the rain as we were nervous about how it would have been received. Thanks again and we appreciate your support.
You should do 5 and 6 train respectively, as those are the two train lines that people use most, outside from the 7, N, Q, R, E, and L lines
Thank you so much for your suggestions.
Maybe where you live that’s not the case for the entire city…..
The 🔴7 Av Line🔴 is just as busy as the 🟢Lexington Av Line🟢
@@the_elmeister I know what you mean. The 1, 2, and 3 line all goes through Manhattan north to south just like the 4, 5, and 6 line
@@GSU_Panther_Nation yeah, it’s the busiest line on the west side
J train extension! Yayyyy…
The J train would go south from Jamaica Center, ending up along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in a circular-like tube.
Underground.
First stop-
109 Av - accessible, island platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services.
The station would spam from 108th Avenue to 109th Avenue, because more residents live near 108th Avenue, while there are more connections at 109th. So, it is basically two birds in one stone. I guess station could be: 108-109 Avs.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, underground and fast.
Next station-
Linden Blvd - accessible, side platform, nice designs, and connection to the X63, Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
Next stop-
Foch Blvd - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q113, Q114, and QM21 bus services.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
Next stop at-
130 Av - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection to the Q111, Q114, and QM21 bus services.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, underground and fast.
Next station--
137 Av - accessible, side platform, ordinary design, and connection is available to the Q111, Q113, Q114, and QM21 bus services.
Along Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
The tunnel would be circular-shaped again, as the line is going under Belt Parkway, and the parkway is below Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
The next and last stop-
Farmers Blvd - accessible, side platform, cool designs, and connection is available to the Q3, Q111, Q113, and Q114 bus services.
I have another planned extension, but I’ll do that later.
But for now,
Buh - Bye!

I've waited months for a J train video and my wish has finally been granted.
Let’s hope it lives up to expectations.
So you did. Take my request Thank you man. This team is so sweet i dont know how to thank the team
It’s an honor and we hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Thanks for all the great videos! Been watching since the beginning and a year and a half ago, I moved from my birth city of New York to Washington, D.C. for university. The Washington Metro is really cool but the NYC Subway is truly special. Watching these videos reminds me of home and very relaxing at a time like this before finals haha. Thanks so much for the relaxing content, and keep up the great work! The J Train specifically was always one of my favorites because you get to see so much of Queens and Brooklyn above ground, not to mention the excellent views from the Williamsburg Bridge.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this amazing comment. It is truly an honor that our video is able to bring you, "back home," while your are away. We want to send you nothing but positive blessings as you take the courageous challenge of expanding your knowledge by attending University; we are sure you will overcome any challenge and we are proud of you for making that step. Thank you again for sharing and we have to agree with you as the J is truly one of the unique trains in the system. Happy holidays to you and the family.
Definitely one of my favorite lines to say the least! Remember when the J still had the R32 and R42's running back in 2018. Miss being able to experience this view in-person when the RFW still existed. Not to mention, these cars on the old elevated structures created a vibe that was on another level.
@@ndudeYT well said. it truly is unfortunate and those classic trains were definitely fun to ride.
Your videos are always amazing. The unique metallic sound + stretch vision formula is sure to relax. Thank you for the beautiful work ever!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much as it is truly an honor that our videos can give you such feeling. Thank you so much for your support.
First, I enjoy your narration on the line, for someone that has not travelled the line that explains it well. Second, the sound of the rain while standing at station cool and the street sounds below. Lastly I see Mister Rat made his customary cameo in the production. Only in NYC. Great job, thanks for the ride. Happy Holidays.
Sending positive blessings to you and your family, especially this holiday season. We truly appreciate your comment and happy you were able to enjoy the ride, even with the cameo appearance.
Okay, I am loving the new intro!! And the J, I could feel 111th Street from here. That is where I grew as a young kid.
Thank you so much. It’s a pleasure to bring you back home and to your childhood days.
This train brought me back memories of the good times living in New York City. I sure miss my home town. Keep up the good work NYMTA.😊
Thanks for sharing…What do you miss the most about your city?
@@wtaenyc My family usually will go visit our neighborhood, (there are so many of them), our local presbyterian church, block parties during the summer time and highland park.
My home train. I get on/off at 104st. Really loved this video!
We appreciate you for sharing and glad you enjoyed it; thank you
Excellent video. Haven't ridden the 15, QJ, J, and KK to visit my cousins, uncles, and aunts in Brooklyn since the mid '70s. Memories. And Mister Softee theme, too. A+
It’s an honor to bring you back to those fond memories you shared, especially the Mister Softee; That was a bonus. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love this content. I take the subway in new york every day and have always wanted to know what the inside of the tunnels look like. I would really want to see a Front view of the Q 2nd ave. train next. Also I really like the sound the traction motors on R160s make when they accelerate/decelerate.
The sounds are truly sensational and we are honored that you’re able to enjoy and appreciate both the sounds and content. We can’t wait for you to experience the Q train so you can marvel at the newly built 2nd Avenue area.
13:07 man, such a cool and scenic stretch on the el between cypress hills and broadway junction. gotta love the j line! ps, that scene in smoke (1995) with the j train heading into brooklyn across the williamsburg bridge warms my heart every time.
I just love how a good portion of the iron that's holding up some of the most modern subway cars also held up Forney steam locomotives and wooden el cars. Just for perspective, that bumper just east of Van Sicklen has spanned three centuries, itself.
You have pointed out something that we can see how it is definitely overlooked; we appreciate you for doing so. Thank you also, for sharing that information about the bumper you saw; three centuries is an extremely long time indeed.
I liked hearing the "Mr. Softee" jingle at Cleveland St.
Lol theres always an ice cream truck outside the schools when they are open (the one at schenk ave, the one on elton street ish, and visa academy)
Truly a classic sound.
I've been waiting for this one for a long time. When I lived in NYC, this was my train.
EDIT: What a nostalgia trip at Cleveland Street (where I lived off of) with the ice cream truck.
Omg i also lived next to cleveland street and in the elementary school there was always an ice crean truck nearby and my mom would give me money to eat there but sadly i dont live there anymore
MR SOFTEE!
Mr. Softee was definitely a bonus. We are honored that you are able to enjoy your home line as it brings you back those lovely memories. Thank you for sharing and shoutout to everyone who also shares your home station.

As much as I do like the line, J Trains probably has the darkest tone it just feels so bare. The J is a line that travels through a very suburban area and is very old. I’m glad we got to take a look back at this line again.
Thank you for taking the time out to share. Every train does has it own unique things about it for sure. We appreciate you for sharing your opinion/view on this line.
The j train does go through East New York, Jamaica Queens and Bushwick/Bedstuy so it goes through some rough hoods
Great video made me remember walking and working on those tracks, except never worked on the bridge 👍🏾
First, thank you for your service to NYC and secondly, thank you for sharing. We can only imagine how interesting, walking those tracks really can be.
The J and 7 are my favorite subway lines from the videos. Plus, the line that goes next to the City Hall station and the Brookin Bridge.
Thanks for sharing. Do you like the J & 7 because they travel mostly outside?
This is my favorite video as well.
Thanks for sharing. What about this video makes it one of your favs?
Like the other poster stated it's got everything. My favorite was the rain.@@wtaenyc
Thank you for this wonderful video! 111th st was one of my old childhood haunts, still hoping LIRR Rockaway branch can be rehabilitated one day! Hearing the Mr Softee Ice Cream truck Jingle at Cleaveland St was a Bonus!! This vid Made me aware of how many of those Equipment buildings there are along the route, super makes me curious as to what the majority of them are for! Bway Junction is So Central to everything ive loved about my time there! Lindsey Park Hi-rise buildings around Lorimer are another of my old haunts, absolutely loved seeing them from this angle! Loved hearing the Rain too! Super impressed with how clean the video remained even while barreling through the rain!! (Kinda wild that the camera got Swimmers Ear!!)(Oh whoa! What was that pattern on the side of the one train going the opposite direction on the Williamsburg Bridge??) I see Canal St seems to finally have gotten a bit of a makeover, and Chambrrs looks way better! Thank you Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood! (Back then the M went all the way down to Stillwell via New Utrecht, so longing to see a train go past Broad Street again!)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an amazingly detailed comment. It’s great that you were able to catch all the things you mentioned, and just as great as it was to hear Mr. Softly, it was equally great that our camera quality remained intact, despite the unfortunate swimmer’s ear. We are happy you are able to notice the positive changes that have been made so far and send them positive blessings that they will continue to improve. Things may not be the same but it’s still a pleasure to bring you back those awesome childhood memories. Sending you and your family some positive blessings; especially during this holiday season.

Excellent work on this video Welcome To An Experience! I like riding the J train! Can you do this video again but with the ASMR reading at the bottom of the screen?

I really cant wait to see the A to lefferts, staten island railroad, 6 train, and the shuttles

Interesting camera level, I am guessing it was fastened to the coupler since it is below train floor height. I spent a lot of time in the BMT East when I was new as a motorman. The J only went to 121st St when I started as a Conductor in '88. I never cared for the J, too many timers and I didn't like the relay at Broad St. The camera is very steady and smooth, I liked this video. Brought back memories of a sore wrist from the 160 controller LOL. I've been retired since 2015, an left NYC in 2017. Nice to see the city again after so long.
It’s an honor to show you the city the way you used to see it as a former motorman. We’d like to say, “Thank you for your service to NYC; we owe you our gratitude.” Sending positive blessings to you and your family and we hope we are able to keep your support. Great observation for the angle by the way🫡

The rain is beqautiful... Wish I was there, all we got is several inches of snow and closaed interstates.
Very interesting how you were able to keep the camera dry during the rain. And one thing I noticed that was not included in the other videos - captions showing local stations bypassed by the express. Will this be a feature in future videos? It would be great if past videos could be updated to include this feature. Many thanks again for these great videos!
Thank you for making that awesome suggestion. We will take it into consideration and try to see what can be done. We appreciate you for noticing and pointing that out as well. As for the rain, we apologize for the mic getting water clogged but it’s a blessing that the camera remained clear, despite being hit with the rain.
Love these videos! Why doesn’t the mta invest in these more often like dash cams!
Hopefully this will give them that idea but we appreciate your support.
Loving the rain, I wish you guys could just change the weather to rain all the time for these videos
I think I may enjoy this experience video since I've never ridden on the J train before.

That was awesome and with the rain in it. Wow lots of trash before Essex st. nasty..! I would guess next will be 5-6-C-Q or W trains.
Thank you so much. We’re glad you were able to enjoy the rain. It’s unfortunate that you were able to see so much trash. As folks start putting their trash into the bins instead of on the tracks, it would help aid in creating the cleanest system that we deserve; after all, this is NYC
Nice, my backup train if the M isn’t working😂. To this day i still don’t see how Jamaica express works from Marcy to Myrtle but it has helped me catch the M at Myrtle to head home 🙌🏽

The (J)uliette is another favorite line that I like to do. I have the easiest time working the line. It's only when I get to Broad Street that's a bitch I have to be in my conductor have to get the home was mostly out of the train so we can relay the train to go back to Jamaica Center. Of course the 3 slow sections the Crescent Street S Curve, Going from Alabama Avenue to Broadway Junction, And going from Marcy Avenue to the Williamsburg Bridge are pretty tedious sometimes.
Thanks for sharing. We can definitely see how it can be slightly tedious, to go through your experiences the way you mentioned but either way, we take this time to thank you for your service to this city. It’s truly appreciated. 🫡

Thank you so much for sharing your suggestion. We will definitely consider it.
Is this an original BMT 1880's structure? Why was the Myrtle Ave El torn down? And what is the deal with the inconsistent 3rd middle track on this line?
Great observation and questions. As to WHY, we would love if the right folks could answer that question for you, as we are not quite certain as to the reasons behind that. The 3rd middle track is possibly inconsistent due to the island platforms at the stations where passengers are able to board either the uptown or downtown train.
At Cleveland Street, I'll take a banana boat and a pineapple sundae please.
I see them on jamaica ave mostly, i cant sleep bc of them pls help
Great choice. We hope you're willing to share.
I’ll also suggest the 6 train. Especially if you capture it as it loops through the old City Hall station in lower Manhattan.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. We can’t wait for you to see the 6 experience.
Nice track speed on the elevated straightaways. The ice cream truck (?) at Cleveland St was a nice bonus. But why don't they remove that rusty, unused overhead structure after Alabama Av?
We imagine they will do so when they have the necessary resources to make it possible. We can’t wait to see their plans for the future.
Love the old J
We hope the video didn't disappoint.

22:49 . It's creepy in how it sits up in the air. No track, but the beams are still there !24:57 A moody scene; ballast in the tracks also.32:30 It looks like you are going to ram into the M train !! Surprise !32:55 The former Myrtle Ave El over our heads. No track, but the beams still have to be there, I guess, for structural integrity. The M train on our right that we fortunately did not smash into. We will now take the express track.38:32 Back to the local track, ahead of the M train.40:06 STRAIGHT AHEAD used to be Sands St terminus (gone). Now we take the lead to the Williamsburg Bridge, the bridge built after the Brooklyn Bridge (The Brooklyn Bridge is my favourite bridge on planet Earth ! I will kiss it's abutments the next time that I get there; Excuse my bluntness ). Since the tracks are in the center of the bridge, you don't get the million dollar view of the East River like you would from the Manhattan Bridge.45:42 The former trolley terminal off through the beams to the left.47:33 The newer connection to the Christie Street connection for the 6th Ave IND, now used by the M train.50:55 Oh my gawd, CHAMBERS STREET ! It used to be the ugliest, and scariest station on the system; good for horror movies. It looks like it has been cleaned up. Wow ! It's almost civilized ! 54:00 I remember continuing on the train past this point back under the East River to Downtown Brooklyn. Those days are gone.
Thank you so much for sharing all the details of different segments of this route. We excuse your bluntness while appreciate you for sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Everyone is entitled to your opinion. We’re more focused on the fact that there’s a train at all because who knows what life would be like without it. It’s understandable if our values don’t necessarily align and we appreciate you for sharing yours, either way. 🫡
@@wtaenyc pretty sure life would still be just as normal if there wasn’t a train. Ya drive, ya fly, hop the bus. I’m just saying riding the subway is not an experience unless something pops off on the train or in the station lol
19:26 the ice cream truck 😂
Great observation
I think the only positive thing about the J and Z trains is that it is known for sounding just like the singer, Jay-Z. Other than that, it’s inconvenient because skip-stop service is too confusing. Plus, it wouldn’t be possible to travel to the next station since the trains are alternating stops. There’s a provision for a center express track so an express service could be convenient and it would make it much faster to travel between Lower Manhattan and Jamaica. This provision is also found on the New Lots Line but I think the Jamaica Line needs it more.
Thanks for sharing 💯🫡
my uncle has a furniture store right under Gates Ave station
Back in the mid sixties I rode this train from Broad Street to the end of the line, I remember the last stop as track, platform, track above ground, can’t recall the name of the station. Now the last stop is under ground. Does anyone remember it like me?
Thank you so much for sharing this; this history lesson as we are sure they are many that aren’t familiar with that situation. We’d love to hear from others who also share this same memory. 🫡🫡
The original last stop on the elevated structure of the J train was 168-street and Jamaica Avenue before being demolished in the mid to late 70’s.
@@tombarzey7964 Thanks, for awhile there I thought I was having a memory issue! 🚃🚃
@@philpotestio9887 you're very welcome. It's great to still remember certain things even if you can't get it right away.

Can yu do the Q from 86th St on the N line in Brooklyn to 96th St-2nd Ave in Manhattan's Upper East Side?
Thank you for the suggestion.
I wander how the people sleep at night with the trains outside their windows
Once when I went to NYC to see family, i found out My Mom and Stepdad at this time had moved into a cheap apartmemt right next to the tracks: cool, i thought! They put me up in the master bedroom right next to the tracks, me Not realizing that the windows were not double paned: that night i went to sleep: and i Promptly fell out of bed the first time the train passed by, not realizing how Loud that was gonna be!! I had wondered why they were sleeping in the smaller room next to the kitchen!! XD (they dont live there anymore)
It’s truly amazing that they are able to live there, while having to endure the noise. We can only hope that their windows are insulated and as the system continues to improve, it would become quieter, so those folks can get a peaceful night’s rest.
You should do the C and an r179
Thank you so much for the suggestion. We can’t wait for you to see our C train video.
As soon as you approach the Manhattan portal the garbage on the tracks is disgusting.
How do you suppose we change that?

I know you've already done the A Train from Far Rockaway but can you do one to Lefferts Blvd please?

Great observation. We can never forget that historic sound.
After leaving Kosciuszko Street, the Audio gets rlly bad
Great observation and thank you for pointing that out. We apologize for that as it’s due to the rain; we take full accountability and it saddens us that you weren’t able to enjoy the video due to the audio.
@@wtaenyc No no no it's okay, mistakes happen. I was still able to enjoy the video and I appreciate the work yall put into it.
Why are all your tunnels lit up now? It was always dark there before.
The system is slowly but surely making more and more improvements as time goes along. We can only expect it to become one of the most spectacular in the world
How much of the original Jamaica Ave El was torn down and why?
Great question. We can't wait until the right person that has the best answer, can assist us all with knowing the real reason.
Any chance you can get the #5 from Dyer Ave to Utica Ave….. thx
Thank you so much for your suggestion.
Could You do Z to Jamaica Center
Thank you so much for the suggestion.
What day was this 😮?
47:32 where do those tracks lead to ?
Great observation and question. Those tracks are for the M train, as it makes its way towards its journey through Manhattan and into queens. Feel free to take a look at the M video to Forest Hills, watching from 27:57.
This is before the entire roadbed and track were replaced. Same project just completed on the 63 st line. New line but crappy roadbed was installed that was falling apart. More$$$$ wasted
MTA management.
Valid opinion 🫡
I see no R143s on the J during the ride
