i dont think the people of today would be as brave as they were back then . the men back then went into situations totally blind not knowing what could happen and alotta them dident make it like parachute testing stuff like that .
William Cagney is Jame Cagney's younger brother but he spent most of his Hollywood career as a movie producer appearing in only five movies between 1933 and 1935.
How 'bout that...I never knew that the great James ( Jimmy) Cagney had an acting brother. Wow....they sure do look alike; even their mannerisms and facial expressions. I really enjoyed this film for that reason. Of course, the science was a bit off. At around 68,000 feet, the temperature is about -60 F....cold..!! And there are no clouds, much less thunderstorms & lightning at that altitude. OH well...an enjoyable movie anyway..especially the great one liners between Cooper and Woods.
Interesting to see Harry Morgan so young, as one of the flight line attendants, wearing the same hat -- it appears -- that he wore on M*A*S*H as Colonel Sherman T. Potter. LOL
Boy, 1934 and this is still a great movie!
1933 NASA ...
That's one thing I love about old films when they show tech to them it's the ultimate, latest & greatest ....So Cool ..

Dashing Aviators, derring-do exploits and a tap dancing Fraulein, who could ask for more!
This Wm Cagney has to be James Cagney's brother. Too many similarities not to be.

He produced several of James's films ,was a director and also

Bailing out at 38000 ft is not a good idea. The air will be a trifle thin and a tad cold.
If all objects fall 32 feet per second, per second, then he wouldnt be up there very long.
Lost in the Stratosphere my ass, they get lost chasing women
William Cagney looks funny with lipstick!
The makeup people were still making the transition from silent films to Talkies.
This movie is truly a discrace to the US aviators.
