- It's been a while since I've shown you guys one of my sketchbooks. I think that means... it's time for a sketchbook tour! Join me for some fun as a flip through my pages and share my artwork. We have struggles, successes... and really weird things. :)
This sketchbook was mostly a place for me to relieve my stress. I didn't realize it when I started, but I was a little artistically burnt out from my day job (graphic designer). I was really thankful to have this when I felt like making art, but was too exhausted to create a big piece. I haven't really made many large pieces in the last few months due to exhaustion.... but I have filled this book rather quickly. Haha! Now I feel inspired to delve into something bigger!

No joke, I literally thought "those eyebrows remind me of Lucy Hale" before you said it was supposed to be her.

I loved the left over palette idea...tried it and its such a stress buster to make patterns with it .
I love the little characters, they are cute. Also the washi tape on the camper drawing looks like it should be there, like you painted the washi there!
My “draw my day” would just be a blank page lol
I loved this tour! I'm for sure going to try the stress relief patterns in my next sketch book. I'm a few pages away from the end of my first fully finished sketch book. I bought a cheap one to see if I could fill it and about 5 pages from the end I bought another one lol. So I went back and sketched a few things and now I'm almost done! I'm thinking for my third sketch book I want to focus on studying the art styles of some of my favorite artists (Munch, Van Gough, Monet, etc) and try to create pieces that reflect the study. I think you should name your sketch book Lucy! Also, after watching the first video you did on Prima Watercolors I asked for the classic set for my birthday and I have FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THEM! They are so amazing, and now I want them all! You're awesome Mira! Be Blessed!
Yessssss! More of the cute and funny looking cartoon people!!! I loved the first little girl, it would make a super cute OC, with background story and stuff. Your sketchbook is GOALS, Miranda. Makes me want to go and buy a sketchbook ASAP. Loved the flower van and flower girl too. Actually, everything in this sketchbook is lovely. Amazing job, as always.

I really like that watercolor landscape near the end; the one with the black bushes. I don't know what it is about it but it reminds me of the illustrations in some book I read at my grandma's house when I was a kid and it makes me happy.

I was actually watching this while coloring some picture I neglected. I just finished this sketchbook today drawing wise, but some just need a POP of color. I do a lot of different things, like from my own tarot designs, do simple landscapes, zentangles, just whatever inspires me that day.

I love how you have 1 palette that you love so much. I have a problem where I keep buying paints. I love all my palettes but since I have quite a few there is not one that I use all the time. I kinda feel like I need a special palette too, but I can't decide between all of them. It's almost like when you have 5 children and you have to pick a favourite. It's impossible!
The draw your day and sketchbook goals are great ideas.
i tend to use my "main" sketchbook as various degrees of stress relief as well! sometimes it's doodles or swatches, when i have more energy i like doing silly prompts and drawing round animals. birds are good but all round bois are good boys. the other way i use it is the regular way, to test out ideas i want to do on a larger scale. anything goes in the "main" sketchbook! the other sketchbooks i have are toned paper ones and one with smoother paper that i use markers in (not a fancy marker sketchbook, a rly cheap one that i dont mind ruining while i try to learn how to use markers). since i go to art school, i do more serious studies and challenging stuff at school, so my sketchbook is a very playful place now and it's a lovely little pocket friend to have.

I finished my seventh sketch book and now iam at my eighth sketchbook.I guess I will do lots of doodling and more challenging stuff and don't know I have to find more things to do but I say your sketchings are awesome and very relaxing!!!👍💐😊☺️☺️

I love that you use your sketchbook to unwind. I think more artists need to stop putting so much pressure on themselves to make perfect sketchbooks. I mean that entirely goes against the point of a sketchbook!

I love so many of the ideas in here - the colour patterns and the “stress reliever” pages give me so many idea for when I need to do my own stress relieving art.
I often fall back just to creating a self-portrait character that is depicting what I’m feeling or doing, but even that can be too much effort when my brain is fried sometimes!!

I really enjoy your videos and find you inspire me to creativity. Thanks for that! I have so many sketchbooks. I had to dedicate one just to the human body this semester for my figure drawing class. I need 100 drawings by the 6th of December and I'm at 73! Aaaahhhh!
But, because of your recent sketchbook ideas video, I grabbed one of my nicer ones and started doing gouache and watercolor sketches in it as a way to relax. It's now my painting sketchbook.

im so hyper critical of myself so i can't draw a whole lot when I'm stressed, i always think its not good enough and i dont have the energy for constant erasing. So when I'm stressed, i copy architecture or planes or spaceships. I like the geometric lines and copying has anyways been really easy for me so i actually end up liking it

Thats how I am with my pallet. Ive had it for a bit over a year and only washed it twice. The only reason I washed it is because I had a specific piece I needed fresh bright colors for and couldn’t accidentally add a bit of color in that wasn’t supposed to be there 😂😂

I totally relate to that leg thing! Personally I have short legs and for such a long time I just drew short legs without realising it at first. Now I love drawing long legs but it took some time to do it right from the start xD

I'm 4 pages shy of finishing my 24th sketchbook. It's named "I Love My Cat" b/c I picked up a sticker with that on it at ye 'ol Wally World in the pet section and stuck it on the front cover. Ironically, there are NO cat drawings in this one. Cats are my 'go-to' comfort zone subject matter. I tried some of your 9 ways to fill a sketchbook hacks when I was fighting the urge to draw some kitties in it so I could keep with the ironic themed content. If you're looking for a name for your sketchbook, maybe call it ''Zen" because you mentioned how this one was your private place to release stress? When I'm stressed and ''arting'', the more stressed I am, the more ''cute-sy'' and "happy" my art turns out. idk... that's just my 2 cents. I really like and appreciate your art. Way to go, Mira!

My favorite thing to draw is really random. I like to draw like alien-looking-cartoony plant things and stick people. See, I like to paint, but not to draw very much.
