I worked at TC Electronic for 17 years. It was actually my job to test and ship the 6032 and 1128 units. Just putting the topplate on that 6032 could take up to an hour because the holes in the top plate wouldn't line up with the holes in the chassis. So I couldn't get the screws in. And then the faders would sometimes rub against the top plate. I was quite time consuming getting them ready for the customer.
And nice seing that the 6032 in the video is the Clair Brothers version. They had their own top plates with their own logo on them. And as I remember they needed special eproms in the 1128s because they needed 15 db cut and boosts. The rest of the world only got 12 db. And it was the same lady in the production that always soldered the special 7 pin cable that fed the 6032. Her name was Gudrun.
If you turn the 6032 over and look for the initials KAP near or on the serialnumber label, I shipped it. :-) TC was a nice place to work. Pre-Uli.
„Analog sounds better“. I used that term for many years as an excuse not having to use digital desks myself. But if you have a production, that lets you get away with carrying that big set up around, lucky you.
Exactly
always great to hear such experienced guys talking, enjoyed it
I still have my rubber mallet. When i got off the road. I went on to drive a truck par time driving a tanker. The Mallet is still in use beating the dogs on the lid (Loading Dome) LOL great vid
Man umm. Thanks for doing these videos. We never get to meet the masterminds of the quality we listen to
It’s my honor. I’ll be releasing a new one every month.
Great to listen to Wayne and a great too to hear someone pick up on a mantra that I try to get over to engineers I work with and my clients, that you have to look for the weak point in the chain, you have to know hat has the potential to bite you in the bum and take the gig away from you. I see a lot of guys falling into the mentality of that if a piece of kit doesn't have a network connector and a laptop attached to it then it has no value for todays engineers. Wayne demonstrates it's good thinking not to discredit the old
Wayne is the GOAT
Great Video Nick!!!!!
What a cool interview ... I can relate to how did you become a FOH . I was a nightclub DJ that made the transition into Live sound
nice - love the Paragon
Thank you for setting up this interview, would love to see who ya talk to next!
Releasing a new one every month!
Meet him a few years back. Very nice guy.
My god that Paragon is cool. Listen with your ears, not with your eyes hits home for me!
These videos are great. I like the contrast between how Wayne does things and how Brett Blanden does things. Two guys at the top of their game who approach the technical side completely differently. Their take on non-technical "things" is very similar though. Well done!
Best in the business.
Couldn’t agree more! Super cool guy!
Nice! I got to record with LB a bit ago. Amazing guy!
What a great opportunity!
We too got to open for him, could't agree more, a great guy! We've opened for a number of A level artists, he's they only one who invited us on his bus!
Thanks for hanging in on analog….cool if you could interview Big Kev from Green Day , and his Neve console live
That would be awesome! I’ll definitely see what I can do.
I am in love with analogue hybrid sound system… but all digital is more compact and fast to install and set…
Came for the interview, stayed for the light show
😂🤣😂
LOL.. I noticed that too
I like this guy. He's an Ear guy like me. I'm totally down to learn smart but I like just walking around and ear tuning a room until it sounds good.
Super cool guy!
✨✨😎😎🎶🎶 I subscribed

Preocupate by the good microphones at the right place and as possible flat eq, that's intelligent !
Completely agree!
See my question would be since he has only 9 channels of eq engaged. What microphones he is using on the kit and does he have all microphone placement measured. Physically on stage. Mic/stand to source. Marked distance. That’s choice gear.
heard them on a awful line array setup and he ended making it sound pretty good
Nice Bro a real desk
more FOH Videos please thanks ;)
I will be releasing a new one every month!
@@ThisIsDeLaCruz very cool thanks ;)
Whats that mixing console
Paragon
With the current cost of touring i bet all the gear manufacturers are designing new gear that is light weight, high speed, low drag.
What’s his spare console?
S6L
Thanks sir
What is the Neve?
What Neve?
@ThisIsDeLaCruz I believe it is a Neve Portico II Master Buss Processor. You guys discuss it a bit in the video.
Yes it is! All of the gear is listed in the video description.
All that about analog and then "Straight into a digital delay" bruh.
Yeah, because no converters in TC delay, am I right?
Do you mean the 2290? It's digital. But in a send return setup his signal is still analog. The effect added by the 2290 is digital though.
@@karstenpe Exactly, assuming he uses the processing every show, all that is analog superiority nonsense is immediately out the window after the first piece of outboard gear anyway.
@@djjazzyjeff1232 No. The 2290 isn't inserted. Its in a send return setup. So his signal chain is completely analog until it hits the PA systems speaker processor.
For him (I guess) its about keeping the signal chain analog for as long as he can. Analog is about more than not wanting to go digital. Each circuit adds to the analog sound.
That being said. All my desks for live sound are digital, and I love them. For me the pro's outway the con's.
@@karstenpe I agree 100%, that's the crux of the thing. Analog is just too unreliable, the dude said himself he spends a large amount of time on his hands and knees under that desk replaces bad components, and he said it like it was endearing or something, no that shit's insane is what it is in my opinion. It DOESN'T sound better either, also in my opinion.
I am a great mix engineer…..I don’t want to know all that other shit…AMEN.
Paragon…
HAHA. I thought it was a different meaning for “FOH Lee Brice” … I misinterpreted it. 😅
What did you think it was? Lol
@@ThisIsDeLaCruz “Fk outta here, Lee Brice!” 😂
🤣😂🤣
All these guys use all these toys to get their sound
But I’m looking for the engineer that goes in on ANY console ANY pa
And sounds the same
Will never happen….specific gear for specific situations…..
